The parking was a pain, the key cards kept malfunctioning and I needed to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs to get them to let me in multiple times, the first room they gave me had a strong weed odor, and the rooms are in average condition. The staff were all friendly, the WiFi was good, the room was decently clean.

Friendliness of all of the staff was exemplary, huge thanks. The room is basic, and is what you pay for, it's comfortable and was convenient to where I was working. Parking is extra, but still better than going to the nearest car park.

Facilities clean n modern. Would be better if there is elevator. Suggest not to have heavy luggages as climbing up the stairs is quite a challenge.

Very basic budget hotel. Decent price. Soundproofing was non--existent, I brought earplugs and definitely needed them. You can literally hear people walking in the room next to you. I would bring an eyemask too, if you're sensitive to light. There's a green light near the bathroom and entrance that can be annoying. Cleanliness was fine, not amazing but this is a budget hotel. Staff were lovely very friendly and helpful. Facilities limited, drinks available from vending machine, and hairdryer available on request.

We arrived at midday. The room was available but to check in before 3:00 cost L20.00. To leave your bags costs L5.00 per bag.

They say in life you get what you pay for. In this case that is stretching it. I was expecting basic, but not this basic. Check in was fine, and I was advised that there was no tea or coffee in the room, but .i could get a drink for £2.50 from the machine in Reception. A narrow staircase (no lift) took me up to my room. It was small, very small! A small double bed, a small bathroom with Shower, a couple of fixed hangers and a TV high up on the wall. It felt more like a prison cell rather than a hotel room. OK, it was very quiet, and the bed, although hard and a bit lumpy, was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep.

Old house convert into hotel. No lift, room was in attic with no window very compact and could hear other guests. No breakfast not even local place.

Be aware of add on prices being "Easy", there half hour before check-in so asked to leave luggage was £5 a bag, room was ready but still charged £10 to go in there. Staff were nice and helpful. No tea and coffee in room but in reception was a machine £2.50 for hot drinks. Had a water machine to fill your bottles which was free or sold bottles of water. Room was clean, shower was good, only had one bath towel and one hand towel between the two of us. If u are bigger than a child the room was so tiny, i'm not a big lady but I needed to side shuffle around the bed. Considering we were on the main road, room was reasonably quiet. Air con was great. Bed was very firm, ok if u like that but i'm a delicate princess so not into hard mattresses, thats just personal choice. If u just need a cheap place to get your head down for the night then perfect, if u are going to party or need to get ready for fun this is not the place can barely get your bags in.

Parking could have been included in the price rather than us having to remember to do it each day.

The staff were lovely and polite however the room was tiny, no amenities, and not very clean, floor was dusty, wrappers on the floor, mould in the windowsill and shower and cobwebs in all corners. Paid an extra £9 for a room with a window but it was frosted, cracked and didn’t open at all. Smelt very strongly of smoke and there was a cigarette butt in the sink plug hole which made the smell worse whenever you ran the tap. The front door didn’t seem to get locked overnight so anyone could just come in. The shower + toilet room didn’t have much privacy as it was frosted glass within touching distance of the bed, with a big hole for a handle in the door and gaps down the side so you could see straight in, and the extractor fan didn’t work. Will not be back

The shower had black all around , nothing that some bleach could have solved , Room exceptionally small , floor had gone by side of bed

Located within a few minutes walk of the town centre and train station, and across the road from a small parade of shops including several restaurants and take away outlets and a selection of convenience stores. On several visits my room has always been clean comfortable and well maintained and all the staff have been courteous friendly and professional and have good local knowledge of the area. Excellent value would recommend without hesitation

Very kind and helpfull staff, room exactly as described on the website. Small but conformable and very clean.

Air conditioning unit in the room said "clean filter" and, boy, they needed to. The air inlet was caked in dust. The air conditioning unit itself vibrated and rattled so loudly that I had to turn it off or I wouldn't have got any sleep. But then it was stuffy. If you offer rooms without windows, the ventilation has to work properly. In this case it did work, it just made a deafening noise. The television was also faulty when I arrived although the receptionist managed to with it and get it to work. Worst mattress I've ever slept on. I still have backache. There's a difference between 'no frills' and outright horrible. This hotel isn't getting it right.

Pretty dirty. My room had several flies flying around. Water damage on the ceiling and I felt my feet getting dirty being on the floor.

Room was way worse than the easy in birmingham and cost more. Dirty sheets, etc. Bed didnt fit the room. Noisy.

It was good for a short term quick trip. Clean comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom. Friendly staff and 24 hr check in and reception service was great. The room is a bit small with next door noise. You might struggle if you’re a light sleeper but I wasn’t bothered.

The checkin process was quick and the member of staff on the front desk was very helpful. Good and convenient location plenty places to get food. Very limited parking spaces which operate on a first come first served basis. I had trouble with parking however staff were very helpful and arranged for me to park elsewhere. Also parking is an extra £10 for the day/night. Unfortunately in terms of cleanliness I found a used shaving stick in my shower I told another member of staff and nothing was done about it.

My room, bed, towels were spotless though a wee bit compact but certainly good for a short stay and of course, staff were very helpful and pleasant. Excellent stay. Many thanks. Edward Moran

The rooms are very small , like cabin. Not suitable for Family - the bathrooms are see through so family cant stay in one room. The parking is charged at 10 pounds per night. Room just have a bed with a foot of space on both sides.

The room met my expetations, but the were no furnitures at all. Nowhwere to put our clothes and belongings. Also, the room could have been larger. There was no space around the bed.

Very small rooms and no drink facilities such as a kettle, bed uncomfortable as kept moving and making a gap between headhead. Also only 1 pillow which wasnt suitable

It is much smaller than it appears on images. Really small, no privacy between bathroom and bedroom which is probably fine for traveling couples. We were traveling friends thinking we would just share a room, ended up needing to book a second room.

Small rooms that fit the price..Good ventilation an aircon is a plus. Had clean and nice toilet.Its good for short stay..

Really poor experience 10/10/23. My bedroom was a literal coffin, no space to move around, bed pushed against wall too, no desk. Nowhere to put anything, TV at top of wall (so you can barely see it. For one person the room was too small, so couples, I do not envy you. I also paid £10 extra, £72 total for a room with a window. The window has crystal privacy cover so you can't see out, and it doesn't even open for ventilation. Doesn't help with what looks like mould on the inside of the window. The heating/AC was broken with an error code. When asking in reception. Probably to save money. The lady was helpful and friendly, but unfortunately couldn't fix it. So you're at the mercy of the weather and a stuffy coffin. The bathroom is very small, one side of the shower door didn't close properly so left a gap for water to escape. Shower was also meh. The air extractor was also broken and constantly on even when light was off. So you'd hear a constant humming all through the night. The bed itself was okay ish, but pillows were the flattest things I've ever seen. From someone that only uses 1 pillow as I like to be mostly flat, almost non-existent. Overall, absolutely horrendous. For the price, this is ridiculous. Pay £20 to £50 more for Premier Inn or Penta Hotel and have an infinitely better experience. The room should cost half the price at what you get. For the tiny rooms and quality, EasyHotel must be making serious bank. Avoid!

This hotel was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. Paid the option to have window but it didn't open or see out of it.

Was OK for the night. Room was very small as was the bathroom attached to the room. Windows do not open. Lady on reception was very nice. Would stay again.

Tiniest room that will cause clostraphopia to anyone who doesn't even have it.

Great experience staff helpful and friendly room clean and tidy. Had a problem with the toilet which kept filling with water the staff immediately attempted a fix that didn't work and was offered a change of room when I reported it was still not working which I accepted. My third stay in the last few months and always found the staff very helpful and the room ready and clean and comfortable

Always very helpful and accommodating.Angelika finished the shift and ensured that eveything was in place for my very late check close to midnight.Another member of the team was very professional throughout this stay.

Peeling wallpaper, mould, blood, cigarette butts, hair and no fire safety information to name but a few complaints I have about this property. I paid extra for a window that could not be opened! My complaint was sent via the correct channels promising a response within 4 days. 14 days later and still no word!

Use this hotel every week for business. Hotel and rooms are basic, but the staff are superstars!

I had one of the worst customer experiences during my recent stay at EasyHotel Reading. At check-in, I clearly requested that no one should enter my room at any time during my stay, and the receptionist assured me it would be respected. Despite this, someone entered the room, moved my belongings, and did a very poor “cleaning” without my consent. I immediately tried to contact hotel management to file a formal complaint. The manager never responded — not even after four full business days. Reception staff were defensive and unhelpful, and at checkout, simply for speaking firmly and asking for my complaint to be noted. I have since had to escalate the issue through Hotels.com because the hotel refused to engage directly. This was a clear violation of privacy, a lack of professionalism, and a total failure of basic hospitality standards. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

You will see lots of compliments to the fantastic staff in this hotel, and quite rightly so. I want to highlight Reece in this review for going way beyond the call of duty to help with a problem entirely of my doing - I booked the wrong week, and Reece was hugely professional in finding me a room, getting it ready and getting me accommodated for the rest of my stay. Huge thanks!!

Was completely shocked when walking into a room which felt like a prison cell. The photos were completely different. Showed that there were charger sockets on each side of the bed and room either side of the bed. This was not the case, the bed was pushed right up against the wall and no room to walk around the bed, literally had to spend your whole time in the room on the bed as no space in the room at all. The toilet roll holder had been ripped of the wall and not replaced. There was no drawers or wardrobe. Not even a table or kettle, things that I'd always expect in a hotel room. Paid extra for late checkout only to be woken up by the housekeeping anyway and no do not disturb signs to place on the door or anything. Receptionist seemed very misserable and looked like she did not want to be there. Was only one towel in the room and asking for a second towel because there was two of us seemed like it was so much hassle for the staff member. Would not recommend, many places at a similar price in reading which are far nicer and certainly more spacious with the basics amenities which you'd expect in a hotel. Expedia even tried to contact the hotel to get me some money back and they said no because all the amenities are available if ask which isn't the case at all.

Amazing staff, they work so hard to help everyone enjoy their stay. I would particularly like to call out Angelika and Reece, who have don so much to help my colleagues and I for our weekly stays in the last year. Thank you!

The bathroom tap had a problem but they immediately upgraded us to a different room without extra fees Nice staff and environment. Very budget friendly.

Very close to train station, 5-7 min walk . On the way to hotel is aldi if need something to eat. Also nest to hotel is a little shop. Staff was amazing. Very kind, polite and helpful ( thank you very much,really appreciate your help and advise). Had room without windows. We were out all day and when came back ,were to tired to worry about 😄

Billy basic close to the centre of town, that does exactly as it says it does. Close to long stay PCP car park just along the road.

The hotel is in a fairly good area which is walkable from the train station and nearby Caversham has some great shops and restaurants. There are a lot of restaurants close by also so there are plenty of options for food. The room in the hotel was looking very tired with peeling wallpaper and no window in the room. This was a cheap option for one night and served its purpose.

Great cheap hotel, in great location for reading city centre

Good location. Friendly staff. Walking distance to Reading station, food, and shopping.

Room was small with no window which I knew when booking as this reflected in the price. The room was very clean and shower very good. It was also very close to train station and I could easily walk there. I did not need parking but there did not seem to be any nearby.

Convenient for few days at Reading, short walk to train station, some near restaurantes, excellent staff.

This is a good quality budget hotel. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot and the staff were friendly. It was also surprising quiet. The room was small - but that’s fine if you only need to sleep in it. It’s just around the corner from the Thames Path - a beautiful morning or evening walk.

Simple room, on a busy road with local shops. Near the train staition and town centre.

Parking isnt great there are only 4space potentially 7 if the ones at the far back are apart of the hotel, the train station which was also recommended looked like a very long walk. NO free tea or coffe (what hotel doesnt offer free tea or coffee especially when charging over £50 for a room) My room had a green light on all night so kept me awake. Air con was very noisy too and i could hear people in the corridor or above me. I am glad i didnt pay full price due to having a voucher, the room was not worth £50 i wouldnt go back.

I missed coffee making facilities in my room, I’d rather have that option than the TV. Otherwise great, nice and simple, no frills place, brilliant

The only good thing about this hotel is the location for food and drinks (eating out) the rest is basic. The bed was like sleeping on concrete, poor pillows and very noisy during the night.

I stayed with my brother for two nights, the staff were super helpful and SO friendly! Everyone we met took an interest in our day, they answered all of our questions and helped us with zero hesitation when we needed more supplies for the room. The room was perfectly clean, very small but cozy, minimal storage but ideal for a few days / solo or couple travellers. Parking was an extra £10 a day, but absolutely worth it because it felt safer than roadside parking / parking a while away! The only downfall was that the room didn't have any windows! The A/C worked just fine, but not having any daylight made it feel much later than it was & in turn made us feel a bit lethargic. Not so much something for the hotel to change, but more for visitors to be mindful of! Hotel aside, there's an AMAZING pub across the road! It's so fairly priced and the food is INCREDIBLE. It's a combination of Malaysian, Thai and English food. It's worth staying just for that 😋 All in all, for the price I paid I can't fault it and that's mostly down to the staff. I'd definitely stay again. Thank you to the hotel team :)))

Good experience. A microwave to warm meals may also be considered in future as the hotel has no restaurant or fridge.
