Very nice, new hotel. Plenty of parking, plenty of stores, restaurants and gas around the area. We did not eat the breakfast since it didn't start until 7am. Most start at 6am but we had to be someplace by 7:15. That was kind of inconvenient since we had to plan to stop someplace else.

We were visiting Birmingham, AL as a getaway from our busy retirement life to attend a major book signing event and to just relax for a few days. We chose Holiday Inn Express because we had stayed with them before in TN and IL. We were very happy with how new and clean everything was. I used the exercise room twice and all the machines were easy to use and well maintained. I am a coffee drinker all day long and love the availability of fresh coffee 24-7. We also opted out of maid service during our stay since we were only there 4 nights. Breakfast was always a little different every day with lots of choices. I noticed from the last time we stayed in a HIE, that they stocked a lower calorie yogurt cup and I really liked that since I am very calorie conscious. Overall, we had a perfect stay for us. We left relaxed and ready to travel back home. As a retired couple that doesn’t travel a lot, we have now put Birmingham, AL on our “quick trip away” list for the future and we will come back to Holiday Inn Express when we visit.

Property and facility is well maintained. Parking lot is one of the best I have experienced due to the amount of lighting (well lit). Room was very clean. Bed comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Shopping and movie theatre less than 3-4 mins drive.

The lobby, our room and breakfast area were all very clean. The room was quiet. They served a nice breakfast and the staff was friendly. The parking lot was well lit at night and felt safe. We highly recommend and would stay again.

This was a nice experience overall. The hotel was nice. We had a minor issue with a couple of pests when we arrived, but it was no longer an issue after the initial encounter. Everything was upgraded, which was nice, and the area around had lots of food and smaller shopping options. The food choices for breakfast were good and the man working the food area was very nice. I Would stay again if need be.

We didnt get a wink of sleep with the people directly across from us. They were in the hallway (up to 10 of them) screaming, running, slamming doors at all hours of the evening/night. I called downstairs to the front desk to complain and got no answer. Will never stay at this location again.

The hotel was in a great locations. I was just there for one night for an event. It was conveniently located to alot of restaurants and shopping which I did not need. We checked in easily and when we entered our room it had a horrible smell. Went to front desk and asked for another room and immediately got another room which had no odors. Would stay here again.

The property is good and clean. Breakfast can be better with some options for the price being charged. water does not flow through the sink and ended up putting something to hold the blocker. It should have been checked and fixed before hand as it is pretty obvious to see by the staff.

The staff seemed overwhelmed. The Keurig in our room had water sitting in it and something floating in it. The sheet on one of the beds had a stain on it, and when we asked for it to be changed, the lady at the front desk seemed annoyed with us. There were no towels, no water, no cups in the gym.

Could not understand the staff checking in and out. Left an item in the room and called to get it sent to me. The person answering the phone wouldn’t check ti see if it was found. He was also very hard to understand. Hopefully they will fond my item left behind as it was valuable. Couldn’t get a final receipt and they said they would email it right away. Never got it. This room was very expensive for the service we got.
