You get what you pay for at this little motel. Though the room was mostly tidy (apart from various scuff marks on the walls) the auto closing mechanism on the door had been ripped off the wall which needed repair and was a little off putting. The driveway of the place was rough and could do with a little resurfacing. The parking was chaos and could do with some guide line markings. There are small trees growing as weeds along the fence line which is a bad indicator and the sign out the front is taped over rather than updated. There was also a shopping trolley with rubbish in it in the parking area. Though it wasn't too bad a little maintenance would go a long way to make people feel more comfortable and encourage repeat business. Hopefully management reads this and can take on the feedback to help them improve the situation.

The room was lovely. It appears to have been well renovated, and was in excellent condition. It was cleaned well, the bed made properly with clean sheets. The outside however appeared very run down. We were quite apprehensive about tbe room after walking from the reception to the room. There were weeds all along the driveway, the front grass was long. The windows of the gym were quite dirty.

A decent budget stay. Exterior is very tired but my room was very clean, the linen was spotless and the bed comfortable. If you want a clean, economical stay it will suit.

Looks a bit run down from outside. Needs name at front changed from Carlton Motel/ Hotel to read Carlton Suites. Happy with our room and facilities.

The room had been nicely renovated but hadn't been cleaned properly there was built up dirt in corners of the room and under the bed , bathroom had built up mould , sheets had stains and looked as if they hadn't been changed , no tea or coffee or any kind of toiletries also no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the room was always damp , room had crickets and ants everywhere my wife also found a slug in her bed , in general didn't enjoy our stay at all definitely don't recommend.

When we first got a room, there was a hole in the wall, dead bugs in the wardrobe and clumps of what appears to be bug debris/droppings in corner walls. Was not a pleasant room and we couldn't wait to leave. We unfortunatly made a booking for a night on our return leg back from holidays but the second room we stayed was clean, well presented and no signs of dead bugs. it was a pleasant stay compared to our first night there

Bathroom was covered in mould aswell as the air conditioning unit. Pillows on the bed were brown unhygienic. The online photos made the room and look newly renovated and clean. The room was the complete opposite. Very disappointed.

have stayed n this hotel previously. this time I was in a GF room. The bathroom had water leaks through the floor and water stains at every tile joint. The bed was not made properly. Pillowcases not tucked in and just thrown on the beds. Not a good look at all. This room with the bathroom in its condition should not be offered for rent

Don’t let the exterior fool you — the inside of Carlton Suites is clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious. Check-in was smooth and the staff were friendly. Our room had a great living/dining/kitchen area and the bedrooms were well set up for families. A few small issues: the king bed had a queen fitted sheet, the TV in the master had no remote (same model as lounge, so it worked), and the pillows were stained and well-worn. Also, there were sealed skylights/ceiling gaps in the bathroom and toilet that looked a bit rough. Still, the comfort and space outweighed the negatives — we'd stay again.

Bed was comfortable, well situated in town, mini kitchen with microwave,toaster, kettle which was great. However on the low down, too much light come in the room at night. As a result unfortunately couldn’t sleep.

Great location. Very quiet. Good for the price. Worth 4.1 stars. Except the wifi was very erratic. The glass door to the upper level makes noise when closing and makes my room door rattle. Shower was great and lots of hot water.

Our room was located upstairs in the middle of a long hallway so it was difficult to carry the suitcase up stairs. . The room was clean although the tap in the hand basin was loose and hard to use. The blind did not extend past window frame so night safety light in the car park shone into the room. Bathroom had no window.

Reception was not manned on arrival at 5=40PM. Receptionist arrived at 5.55PM. Very ordinary service!! Outside of building in dilapidated state, but the room was the complete opposite= spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. Bed was very comfortable, and shower outstanding. Great value for money.

Clean, simple, and affordable accommodation option. Would happily stay again if travelling through Goulburn. Also. customer service was fantastic. We were travelling with a baby and they ensured ease of access to a ground level room for us as per our last minute request. Took the stress out of the check in process, and made a big difference with helping us relax into our stay. Thanks again guys!

Terrible customer service. Organised early check in . No one was there to check us in . Could not contact management. Cleaner gave us a room. Upon entering our room later that night there were other people in it . Our belongings had been removed to reception . Reception was very rude to us telling us we had no right to have gone in that room yet his staff had allowed us and given us a key. We were then given another room which was not the deluxe family suite that I had originally booked. Following day I still was not able to contact management. Part of our belongings was missing and our driver’s license was not returned when checking in. Overall a terrible experience. When my friend finally got through to management and complained about service she was told “It’s not my problem “.

I arrived at the property to be told the price would be more than I had paid to Wotif. When I politely queried this I was yelled at, told to accept the price or leave and that the price in the system couldn\'t be changed. I rang Wotif from the reception . The Wotif representative could hear the continuing abuse I was being subjected to and said they could "drop" the booking out. My distress was obvious to her. I left, as I was being yelled at to do, so cannot rate this property on any criteria other than the behaviour of reception staff and the use of hidden charges. Wotif have since refused a refund.

I was threatened with violence by the male receptionist or manager not sure what he was . He looked as though he had just come out of jail . Beard t shirt and flipflops very unprofessional . Threatened to break my car window. Never come anything like this ever and I do travel a lot.Please inform owners .

We enjoyed our short stay in Goulburn, so many beautiful old buildings. The Carlton Suites were a good choice, close to the train station and town. It was clean, comfortable bed, good shower, friendly staff and our room even had the kitchen sink with the microwave, toaster and kettle. We would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable stay, on our way up north. When I saw the main road it was on, I was worried but we were more towards the back of the property, and there were thick concrete walls. Great location, as you can park your car at the motel, and then just walk into town (the street behind) and walk back. Love it when I can do that.

Conveniently located as an overnight stop between our home (Melbourne) and destination (Shoal Bay). Outside of property looks a bit tired, but inside of the room was fine and quite spacious. Facilities OK except TV remote stopped working on the morning we left. Plenty of parking for 11 guest cars while we were there with room for about 5 or 6 more. Good location with clubs, hotels, cafes, supermarket and the town park all within easy walking distance. We've stayed before and will do so again.

Great location visiting Goulburn as a tourist. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Fridge and microwave with plates and cutlery useful. Would stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed in the last 12 months and have been delighted by the quality and cleanliness of our room. Spacious, very comfortable king size bed, spacious room, tiles, shower, bathroom all very clean and in very good condition. Only a short stroll to the Hibernian Hotel where you can grab a great meal at a very reasonable price. Not the best looking property from the oustide but dont be put off by that. It represents great value but more importantly provides excellent accommodation

Don’t be fooled by the not-so-inspiring outside facade of the property. Our 2-room unit was clean, comfortable and spacious. It even has a bath tub! Perfect home-away-fr-home for my family of 5. Supermarket was within 5mins walk fr property. Super convenient!

Very helpful manager, who advised that the nearest pub had an excellent steak special that evening. It did and it was. Room clean and well equipped, large bathroom, and clearly allowing for disabled access - which was good to see. Unfortunately, wifi was a problem on this particular day.
