Service was excellent! Food and drinks were great! We loved out private pool and the inclusive catamaran/snorkel trip. We also loved that we could swim with dolphins just a short walk from our room. 10 out of 10 for sure! Thank you! We will be back!

We loved our stay at El Dorado Maroma! The resort is the perfect size for a couples getaway. We were very happy with all the additional perks, including the hotel transportation and the catamaran and snorkeling tour. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They worked hard every morning to clear any sargassum that accumulated on the beach. The spa services were top notch and we enjoyed the food at each restaurant. Make sure you visit the Taqueria for lunch. We would definitely recommend staying here!

I didn't see a hot tub. But I did use the spa that has a jacuzzi hot tub and cold plunge pool. The bars (plural) are fully stocked and the bar tenders are friendly and pour nicely.

Bar none, the nicest resort I’ve ever been to. The staff is amazing. Very friendly people and they really go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with whatever you’re doing or enjoying. The rooms and grounds are impeccable. The food is exceptional. Great service everywhere you go including the beach. My only complaint is their prices at the spa are outrageous. Ballpark $300 for a 90 minute massage is offensive. Other resorts I’ve been to offer the same services for $80. In the NYC area it’s $90-$130 and it’s done by certified massage therapists.

Quiet and small property. About a half hour from airport in a very secluded forest area. Only other resorts around. Beautiful grounds. Everything is spread out but it’s relatively smaller property. Staff great. Pool area is nice. The beach is nice however there was a lot of seaweed at the time we went so it was not desirable to swim in the ocean. The food and drinks were mid. Not bad but not amazing. The staff were all super nice but not everything was communicated well as far as activities, events, menus, times things opened and closed etc. The place shuts down after dinner time so there isn’t much going on. They had nightly entertainment but it was meh. Room was very nice and clean. We stayed in junior suite with partial ocean view. No complaints about facility or rooms.

We spent our honeymoon here at El Dorado Maroma. The views are breathtaking, service is usually amazing, although we did have a couple waiters who missed a few steps occasionally( like not bringing us breakfast pastries basket when all other tables got one.) The have a great selection of food and alcohol included, Patron, 1800, good options. The main pool area is quite loud, and could be heard from inside our private pool suite, so we spent most of our time at another pool in a quieter area. (They did offer to move us for $100/per night upgrade). The catamaran boat tour with snorkeling was very interesting and we saw the second largest coral reef with a giant sea turtle! The property did need some upgrades in furniture that isn’t damaged and new carpet, but the rest of the resort was in good shape. I wouldn’t recommend the provided transportation as it took us over two hours after arriving to the van to actually get to our hotel, but overall a very pleasant experience and a great choice in Playa del Carmen. The landscaping and tropical gardens really won us over, as well as the resorts smaller scale in comparison to the mega resorts.

Excellent hotel in the Riviera Maya! The beach is amazing nothing compared with CanCun/Playa del Carmen, it is just a paradise. The hotel is great, amazing service, everyone goes the extra mile to make the guests feel comfortable and happy. The food was outstanding (for an all inclusive standards). The activities included (Catamaran/cenetos/cave/waterpatk) were great. If you want to treat yourself with a massage, don’t hesitate to book one, the facilities are great and the service was outstanding. Definitely this is not a party destination (everything closes between 10-11) instead wants a relax time in a great place then this might be a great option.

EDM was amazing!!! ALL staff were attentive and helpful from the time we arrived to the time we left. I had so much enjoying the amenities. The beach, the swim-up pool bar, and the entertainment at Rick’s. I visited with a group and we enjoyed everything. I upgraded from a private pool suite to a swim-up suite. The bathroom with the toilet room needs some updating, but besides that, everything else looks great. I also would love if they upgraded the food options. Some restaurants were, some were closed, some served different items on different days. I think something consistent at each restaurant with different options would be great. I will definitely visit again and recommend.

We stayed in this property 10 years ago, and went back to it to find a place to spend frequent weekend breaks, thinking that the place would probably had changed a lot in a way that it could be a bit less appealing. Nothing farther than the truth, they have improved a lot while keeling the quiet and exclusive feeling of the resort. All the staff is very friendly and more than helpful, proactive, and the new approach to an "all inclusive" package that basically now included most of the things that used to have extra cost, is amazing. The hotel is super clean, and all the restrooms have A/C and always smell good and are kept dry and well equipped. The spa is an amazing experience, worth every dollar spent, and in general all the services, including the airport transportation are very very professional and safe, exceeding our expectations by far. In the Dorado Maroma, the Lomas group is doing an amazing job, and that includes the services provided right next door at the Maroma beach club, creating a uniform and high-quality experience for visitors, in such a transparent way, with the same standards suitable for demanding customers. For sure we will be back, and now are considering a membership, as this is a perfect spot to relax, and besides what nature provides, Lomas brings up the rest to make it possible. Congratulations to all the team!

Beautiful beach, clean property and top notch staff. They really take the time to do daily cleanings of everything whether it's the rooms, pools ,restaurants or grounds in general. Very quiet and peaceful resort. We will certainly come back.

Pros: Very friendly staff. Very delicious food. Beautiful beach. Cons: pool floors are slick tile. Our in room AC leaked condensation into one of our suitcases. The toilet in our room leaked at the floor. No night life! Have to make reservations for dinner each night. Reservations and times were mostly booked up for what we wanted to do. For all-inclusive there were lots of upsells and offers for “additional” services. Expedia gold membership was supposed to get us an automatic upgraded room. When they attempted to upsell our room and I told them we automatically get upgraded because of our gold tier status, they said the upgrade was unavailable. Then he told us we were already upgraded. Yet we were in the least expensive room they offered. Some arrangements had to be made with different representatives. Airport transfer at one desk, use at the included water park Nextdoor at another building, get bags brought down for our departure another building, reservations for dinners back to the other building. Crazy! Overall, still a good experience. Beautiful beach! Great staff! Good food. Just some things could have been better handled. It was still a nice vacation that we enjoyed.

This is such a beautiful property! The grounds are immaculate and the my room was always spotless. The staff was extremely friendly and made me feel welcomed and taken care of. I felt so safe at all times; from the transportation to walking around the resort. The food was great. Top shelf alcohol. Good communication via the app. Excellent stay!

Everything was pretty great. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. It’s very easy to get from point A to point B. The food was a win regardless of where you decide to dine. The only downsides to our experience were the wildlife around the park and the slippery floors in the room. The caotis around the property were at first a novel experience. However, they quickly became bothersome; being known to jump onto outdoor dining tables, steal food from dining guests, and occasionally bite patrons as well. Our room, while clean and well maintained, was prone to accumulating condensation on the tile floors. These conditions proved dangerous in one instance with a pretty hard fall that resulted in some aching a bruising. Despite these minor inconveniences, I would be open to staying again. Though the absence of these issues would have made our stay perfect, I would still say the stay was lovely.

Our stay at El Dorado Maroma was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch, making us feel completely taken care of in a truly all-inclusive environment. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was stunning—it featured a giant Jacuzzi tub and a beautiful view of the ocean. This resort truly surprised us. First off I would like to say that we stayed at the Mi Hotelito room. I heard they have been the most recently renovated. It was a beautiful room that felt like a tropical getaway. The location was prime! That was our favorite part. We loved hanging out on our little patio and still received butler service there. Service everywhere was outstanding. Staff were always very happy to help. The food was the best we've had at an all-inclusive. It's a smaller resort and no buffet, so everything is cooked fresh. We usually get tired of the food by the end but not here. Chips and salsas to begin most meals. There are lots of Mexican options on the menu. We once went to a resort in Mexico with no Mexican restaurant, and it was so disappointing. El dorado maroma felt very Mexican and not just like an American resort in Mexico. We loved all the Mexican touches here. We wish they would do away with needing reservations at the restaurants. Felt very unnecessary. The beach was beautiful, but I will admit it's not exactly the type of beach I enjoy. I love swimming in the ocean. Pros: Very friendly staff. Very delicious food. Beautiful beach. Cons: pool floors are slick tile. Our in room AC leaked condensation into one of our suitcases. The toilet in our room leaked at the floor. No night life! Have to make reservations for dinner each night. Reservations and times were mostly booked up for what we wanted to do. For all-inclusive there were lots of upsells and offers for “additional” services. Expedia gold membership was supposed to get us an automatic upgraded room. When they attempted to upsell our room and I told them we automatically get upgraded because of our gold tier status, they said the upgrade was unavailable. Then he told us we were already upgraded. Yet we were in the least expensive room they offered. Some arrangements had to be made with different representatives. Airport transfer at one desk, use at the included water park Nextdoor at another building, get bags brought down for our departure another building, reservations for dinners back to the other building. Crazy! Overall, still a good experience. Beautiful beach! Great staff! Good food. Just some things could have been better handled. It was still a nice vacation that we enjoyed.

Place is an older resort but well maintained. The people are amazing . The rooms were large and super clean . The food was really great for a resort I thought . No buffets all food the food was fresh . Premium liquor on hand . The only draw back I had was the honeymoon suite shows first floor with a pool outside in pics . I was on the 4 th floor no pool . I did like the spot because we were away from everything but should have paid less .

We spent our honeymoon here at El Dorado Maroma. The views are breathtaking, service is usually amazing, although we did have a couple waiters who missed a few steps occasionally( like not bringing us breakfast pastries basket when all other tables got one.) The have a great selection of food and alcohol included, Patron, 1800, good options. The main pool area is quite loud, and could be heard from inside our private pool suite, so we spent most of our time at another pool in a quieter area. (They did offer to move us for $100/per night upgrade). The catamaran boat tour with snorkeling was very interesting and we saw the second largest coral reef with a giant sea turtle! The property did need some upgrades in furniture that isn’t damaged and new carpet, but the rest of the resort was in good shape. I wouldn’t recommend the provided transportation as it took us over two hours after arriving to the van to actually get to our hotel, but overall a very pleasant experience and a great choice in Playa del Carmen. The landscaping and tropical gardens really won us over, as well as the resorts smaller scale in comparison to the mega resorts.

EDM was amazing!!! ALL staff were attentive and helpful from the time we arrived to the time we left. I had so much enjoying the amenities. The beach, the swim-up pool bar, and the entertainment at Rick’s. I visited with a group and we enjoyed everything. I upgraded from a private pool suite to a swim-up suite. The bathroom with the toilet room needs some updating, but besides that, everything else looks great. I also would love if they upgraded the food options. Where do I begin! the resort was amazing the food was good and not just generic resort food. Papitos was by far my favorite restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was amazing. The catamaran ride was an added bonus. The beaches were perfect, It wasn't crowded. I had a blast. Eli our concierge was on point! she was so helpful and made sure all our needs were met. We even sat through a timeshare presentation and received a free massage at the spa for our troubles. The presentation wasn't that bad so spend the two hours, cause trust me its worth it. Oh and the junior sweet was anything but junior. The room was huge. Literally the biggest room I've ever stayed in. Fridge was stocked with waters, soda, and beer daily. All the bar staff was nice, I would recommend to bring small bills for tips. Those folks work hard and make each guest feel special. I know this review doesn't do them any justice, but you cant do wrong here. Would come back without a doubt. Thanks again Eli!!!!!

We loved our stay at El Dorado Maroma! The resort is the perfect size for a couples getaway. We were very happy with all the additional perks, including the hotel transportation and the catamaran and snorkeling tour. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They worked hard every morning to clear any sargassum that accumulated on the beach. The spa services were top notch and we enjoyed the food at each restaurant. Make sure you visit the Taqueria for lunch. We would definitely recommend staying here!

We’ve stayed here multiple times. We really like the small size of the resort and quality food. There did seem to be a drop off in the quality of service. I asked the concierge 2 days in a row to book us a reservation and it never happened. I also mentioned a few issues with the room that were minor but were never addressed. At dinner we had a bottle of wine that we ordered and it was court so we sent it back. They never offered other options so we went the entire meal without a bottle of wine which I would gladly have purchased. The house wine options are not very good which is fine because they do have bottles you can purchase. Not sure what changed since the last few times we have been, but we likely will try other places. The location, size, and grounds are great.

This was our first visit to El Dorado Maroma and we loved it! The staff were outstanding. A few people stood out to us. Angel in Limo Limon, Arturo, Israel and Oswaldo with the entertainment staff. Armando and Marco the beach butlers were so helpful. The grounds were beautiful. We will definitely be back!

I stayed here with my partner for 5 wonderful days. The property was beautiful and we were very happy with our room. The ocean was spectacular and pools were excellent as well. But the best to us hands down were the staff who always went out of their way to make sure we were happy, and the food. The only area that could use improvement is greater clarity around who works for what company; we were confused by the difference between El Dorado staff, Lomas Hospitality, and Exotic Travellers, the latter of which we were led into a timeshare-type presentation (done really well! but not for us). Not fully understanding what Lomas was, and how it related to our airport transfer versus speaking with other staff caused some stress.

Place is elite. Access to beach is so close to rooms and restaurants. Service is next level. Francisco and Carlos best bar tenders. Manuel and Marco so helpful setting up beach chairs. Gustavo at the restaurant. Hebert and Liliana at the spa are amazing. Bryan scheduling the massages was great to work with. The food was amazing at all restaurants. The house win is good and if u want to upgrade lots of options. The ability to eat so close to the beach at two restaurants. as a female solo traveler, safety is paramount, and i never felt so safe while on vacation as i did here. the place is amazing. the bathrooms smell delicious. the restaurants offer delicious options and cater to any allergies or preferences you might have. be sure to book the specialty restaurants for suppers. the theme nights they offer once a week are quite the experience ( i only go to do the mexican night but thoroughly enjoyed it). the staff are very attentive- at the beach, in the restaurants, at the pools, everywhere you go. I've never felt so pampered from the time i arrived to the time i left. lots of activities to do each day from dancing lessons, to mini individual spanish lessons on the beach, arts and crafts, cooking lessons, beach and pool volleyball, etc and those are only the ones that i was informed about from roaming staff. the fact that it is only for 18 and over is so refreshing. do the on site excursions *based next door like the catamaran snorkling trip, camel ride, etc) or go off site for the cenote and cave trip for even more fun. if i would have had more days i would have done every offered excursion. the transportation, cleaning staff, bar tenders, pool cleaners, medics, life guards, bell boys, beach attendants, spa staff, restaurant staff, personal concierge, check in staff deserve much credit for making their clients enjoy the vacation even more memorable. everyone was so helpful and friendly. you wont go wrong choosing to book this property.

The resort is located on a beautiful, clean beach. The dining and bar options are included and all very delicious. We chose the package with included excursions that were all great and loved the organized transportation to and from the excursions and the airport. Top notch trip! and

We loved our stay at El Dorado Maroma! The resort is the perfect size for a couples getaway. We were very happy with all the additional perks, including the hotel transportation and the catamaran and snorkeling tour. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They worked hard every morning to clear any sargassum that accumulated on the beach. The spa services were top notch and we enjoyed the food at each restaurant. Make sure you visit the Taqueria for lunch. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Our first time to Mexico and El Dorado Maroma exceeded our expectations! The property was quiet, clean, and staff was very nice and professional. The beach was nicest beach we've ever been on. Sand is really soft. Lots of activities if you choose. Room was very spacious and clean. We loved Papitos! Stay here if you can as you won't regret it. We will be back!

Quiet and small property. About a half hour from airport in a very secluded forest area. Only other resorts around. Beautiful grounds. Everything is spread out but it’s relatively smaller property. Staff great. Pool area is nice. The beach is nice however there was a lot of seaweed at the time we went so it was not desirable to swim in the ocean. The food and drinks were mid. Not bad but not amazing. The staff were all super nice but not everything was communicated well as far as activities, events, menus, times things opened and closed etc. The place shuts down after dinner time so there isn’t much going on. They had nightly entertainment but it was meh. Room was very nice and clean. We stayed in junior suite with partial ocean view. No complaints about facility or rooms.

We can't say enough about this place and are already talking about going back!

This property is absolutely gorgeous. I had an amazing time. If you are looking to relax, not worry about a thing and enjoy yourself this is definitely the place. At times we felt like we had the hotel all to ourselves, we are most definitely coming back. It’s a bit of a drive from the airport but they offer transportation which made it a lot easier. Worth every penny!

Place is elite. Access to beach is so close to rooms and restaurants. Service is next level. Francisco and Carlos best bar tenders. Manuel and Marco so helpful setting up beach chairs. Gustavo at the restaurant. Hebert and Liliana at the spa are amazing. Bryan scheduling the massages was great to work with. The food was amazing at all restaurants. The house win is good and if u want to upgrade lots of options. The ability to eat so close to the beach at two restaurants. This is a great place if u don’t want to walk a lot and enjoy great service. Not a mega size hotel but I liked the more intimate higher quality food and service. Highly recommend and hope to go again. Miss it already!!!

Perfect all inclusive for a relaxing getaway. The staff was great, very attentive, the beach is incredible, the amenities are such that there is no reason to actually leave the resort outside of the included activities like the cenotes etc. Food is decent, not amazing. The brunch at the day club was the best, mostly everything else is pre-made and heated up, so there is a noticeable difference in quality between a 7:00 reservation and a 9:30 reservation, but overall I would absolutely return.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Clean room, good food, good drinks, true all-inclusive experience. Almost no nightlife, no snack options (except sit down full meals), no indoor/weather protected drink/bar options, no American TV channels (tough for sports fans or to see news updates). A few instances of waiters not being able to speak English well enough to explain menu options. Also asked to sit through sales pitch become “members”…basically a time share sales pitch. Overall a good experience in spite of the negative mentions above. Nice property!

Excellent hotel in the Riviera Maya! The beach is amazing nothing compared with CanCun/Playa del Carmen, it is just a paradise. The hotel is great, amazing service, everyone goes the extra mile to make the guests feel comfortable and happy. The food was outstanding (for an all inclusive standards). The activities included (Catamaran/cenetos/cave/waterpatk) were great. If you want to treat yourself with a massage, don’t hesitate to book one, the facilities are great and the service was outstanding. Definitely this is not a party destination (everything closes between 10-11) instead wants a relax time in a great place then this might be a great option.

The property was beautiful. The room is very comfortable and nice and cool. Air-conditioning worked great & loved the room had a ceiling fan as well. The pool area was very nice, but the beach was spectacular very comfortable and the service was great! Breakfast was delicious, lunch was good and dinners were OK. Drinks were all very good. We would definitely stay at this property again and would recommend it.

Food was horrible. Pretending to be gourmet restaurant with cheap Chinese food served as Asian fusion.Christmas dinner was pathetic. Beach is nice but you have to tip for towels. For chairs, for a cup of water . They said is all inclusive but you have to tip for towels in the room.for coffee pods For room breakfast , for dinner , for lunch. No buffet available even they states on Expedia there is buffet.
