Planned a trip for our girls to KC as part of a Christmas present. I feel like the hotel should have let us know the pool was not operational. The kids were extremely disappointed and it was the main reason we booked that hotel. Also charging for parking should be illegal.

The couch in the room had a nice big stain on it..in the bathroom the wall had red stains on it next to the trash can.the pool got closed that day by the health dept.. The staff were nice and courteous..they tried to refund or move us to another hotel but couldn't becsuse i booked thru 3rd party. Breakfast was good.the lobby was clean. Secure underground parking on site.

Our room didn't have a working TV (we let front desk know, but they were unable to fix it, we'llsee if they discount our stay as they promised), there was a set alarm on the in-room clock that hadn't been reset that went off at 6am, and the pool was freezing. We thought there was a hot tub, but unfortunate, no. Breakfast wasn't terrible. Staff was very nice.

Excellent experience overall! We loved the location and the hotel was newer and clean. A bit bummed to have to pay an additional fee per-night for parking and there definitely seems to be something off about the pool. The pool room chemicals in the air burned our eyes so badly we couldn’t stand it more than an hour, just sitting poolside, and the children were all coughing after being in for <30 minutes. There were two air purifiers in there, which did not seem to be helping the air quality at all, but something seems off about the ventilation in there.

The hotel provided an excellent stay for a midsize family group, with one family member needing to work long hours from the room. The desk area is well-constructed, solid, comfortable; office chair is easily adjustable. Appreciated the quality of breakfast and variety of choice. Super delicious quiches offered one morning! Rooms are spacious, with a huge bathroom and oversized walk-in closet. Interior design and furniture are modern, beds are comfortable. Pool is small. No hot tub that we found. A comfortable distance to the Plaza. 10 min away from downtown attractions.

My only disappointment was the tiny, awkward and dangerous parking lot and garage. And they charge a fee. However, upon checkout, when I said I was happy with everything but the parking, the staff member erased the parking fees. I did not expect that but appreciated it.

Did not feel safe walking around the area at night. Hotel was not well lit to find at night Parking was a fee that was not mentioned in the reservation. The last night the paid parking was not available and I had to park on the street. The hotel still charged me even though they said they wouldn’t at the front desk. Room was clean and accommodating. The pool was closed with a Dept of Health notification.

House keeping was not very good at all. We stayed from Tuesday to Monday and the bed was never made or vacuum never ran the whole intire time. When they did come they just set towel on counter and the complete trash wasn’t taken.

The only complaint I have is if you're on the side of the bed close to the AC unit be prepared to have the air blowing directly on you. We didn't see any way to redirect the airflow so I slept with a pillow on that side so it wasn't blowing directly in my face. Other than that, ZERO complaints. Thomas at the front desk was the kindest front desk attendant I've ever met, and I've been to a lot of hotels over the years. And the breakfast was probably the best my family has ever had as well. Would definitely return!

New and clean rooms. Not incredibly spacious for a suite but sufficient. Nice breakfast. Note that the walk to the plaza shops is a bit of a trek. Also, something should be done about the noise of the heavy doors as you can hear every door shut near you. TV kept going out when it was raining. Annoying. Otherwise a nice stay.

Overall, we had a good stay - clean and spacious room, helpful staff, good amenities, etc. that said, there were some sticking points - the AC said it was controlled in the room, but kept coming on and blowing cold air all night even after we shut it off. The bathroom has a glass sliding door that lets out all the light when someone needs to go in the middle of the night, and there were no small “nightlight” options. We were on the second floor near the elevators and could hear the motors quite loudly every time someone used them. Finally, we were told breakfast started at 6, but it wasn’t actually setup until 7. All that said, we would stay again, we would just try to account for those things beforehand.

Our 1 Night stay was beyond expectations! We will definitely be back - we were surprised by the SHK staff with birthday balloons and bday card! From lobby to gym to room, it was all spotless! Great customer service! The lady who worked night on 3/7 deserves a huge shout out! She made sure we had a parking spot and took care of us.

Great location with even better staff! I have stayed at thousands of hotels and the staff here are second to none. The parking area was full and the night shift manager made spots up for a few guests so we didn’t have to park elsewhere. Fantastic place. Extremely clean

The hotel staff was amazing outside of a somewhat scary interaction I had with a security guard in the parking garage. Speaking of parking - it’s a joke! $15 a day and not enough parking. I would probably not stay there again due to the security guard incident (not related to the parking) and if I did, only if I didn’t have a vehicle to park.

Anthony -Anthony -Anthony As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was greeted with a smile and a pleasant conversation with Anthony. He was very professional and knowledgeable about venues in the area . My interactions with him throughout my stay was great. I found him to be a kind and a caring person. The hotel was very clean. The rest of the staff was professional and helpful. I would come back and recommend to friends and family.

The only redeeming thing about this place was Terrence at the front desk, otherwise it was an awful stay.Our room was never cleaned unless I asked for it. We stayed here for almost an entire week. The floors were never vacuumed. I had to request room cleaning every single day. Because it didn't get done. For 3 of the mornings we had breakfast there was no butter for the waffles and toast and bagels, whatever you might want to put a butter on. We will never stay here again.And I highly discourage you from booking a room at this hotel.

The staff- Jake, Anthony, Lisa, Antonio, Hannah all provided exceptional customer service. They were each personable, very helpful, efficient, knowledgeable, kind and professional! Located in a residential area close to a couple colleges. This hotel was close to shopping, dining, museums, and the arena. There is a parking fee with above ground and underground parking. We felt safe and the staff was excellent in assisting us with any question or concern we had.

Stayed in this hotel with my husband and we were pleasantly surprised with a number of things: location (proximity to what we were visiting Kansas City for), amenities and cleanliness of the hotel, noise level was very low. Breakfast was amazing: egg and spinach patties, bacon, sausage patties, potatoes; hot oatmeal with a variety of dry fruit toppings; coffee and hot water with a selection of teas; selection of cereals; choice of English muffins, bagels, and toast; waffle iron. All members of the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast lady was very kind and funny. The only negative was the crazy slope to get into the underground parking—a bumper scratcher for sure! Overall, would definitely return and stay again.

Breakfast r OK. More varity would be nice. And hours for breakfast extented to10am weekdays and ekends. Rooms r mostly clean. This stay I jept findung little specks of black and brown in the bed. Makes a person wonder if the sheets were changed between visitors. I was charged for parking when I didnt use garage or parking area.

Breakfast choices were limited and staff had a hard time keeping food and coffee stocked for the number of guests at the hotel. Shower was slow to drain, so we could not shower for more than 60 seconds before we were standing in a puddle of water. Water pressure and temperature were nice, so I would have liked to take advantage.
