Plaza Pelicanos Club Beach Resort All Inclusive

The pictures on the advertisement for this hotel show pictures of the resort right on the beach. Be aware, there are two resorts, the "Club" and the "Grand". The Club resort is across the street, then you have to enter the property of the grand to be able to get to the beach.

It was very affordable. Although it's older it was clean and bright and right on the busline or taxi's are readily available. Great staff. Covid restrictions are maintained perfectly. The sunset on the beach is beautiful. The pools are great with swim up bars. The buffet is average but it's so much fun to check out all the wonderful restaurants in PTO VALL.

The beach and pool on the ocean were fantastic! The service by all staff was excellent, especially our server, Julian at the pool. There are no balconies on the second and third floors of the main guest room building but you might be able to be upgraded (for a fee) to the ocean side building. Breakfast at the one buffet restaurant was quite good and has an omelette station. The a la carte restaurant was good and the burgers and pizza by the pool were decent. We went downtown for dinner. It was a short bus ride ($10 pesos) to downtown, which is nice. The guest rooms are getting a little tired and could use a renovation but overall, a good budget hotel.

We stayed in this facility for 10 days, and it is our second time coming to this resort. The food was great. The staff were unbelievable. All of the other hotels in the area have some kind of security staff. This hotel does not. Nothing bad happened...so please don't let me scare anyone off. However, there is no one enforcing the rules about people staying in the pools after hours. No one is monitoring the hallways to make sure teenagers, etc. are not screaming and yelling in the hallways. We got a room on the first floor facing the smaller pool. We could just walk out of our patio door...I loved it! Most of the time we did not even lock this door. We had no issues. The waiters are fabulous! They really look after their customers!

Great Property for a smaller resort. You can walk right out the lobby and the beach is about 20 or 30 steps away. I was there March 1st, 2025 for one week. I saw a whale and her baby jumping and splashing around, from my beach lounger. The food was very good authentic Mexican as the resort is full of mainly locals. Not a ton of choices for the food but what they do offer was quite good. All 3 pools were very clean. Staff was very very attentive and did a wonderful job. I was very pleasantly surprised and had a great time resettng myself. Highly recommend for a budget friendly, authetic vacation.

The pictures were deceiving when we booked. A lot of photo's of the other resort. Rooms are dated, they smell musty most likely from how humid it is so it's understandable that there isn't much they can do about that. There's no mini fridges in rooms. Buffet was just ok, the specialty restaurant you needed to book in advance to eat there. When I booked my room I booked a King bed, when I checked in they were trying to give me two double beds. I told them that is not what I booked, they upgraded me. Pools, and grounds were kept nice. The staff were always kind and friendly. My group stayed for 5 days from June 27th, 2025. They don't mention that there is two resorts and to get to the beach you have to walk across the road to the other resort which isn't a big problem but just know you are not oceanside at this resort. There is no wifi in the rooms. We had wifi in our room but we were on ground level and had a suite that lead out to the pools. Other members of our party had backside hotel rooms on second floors and they had no wifi. There is no elevators, so if you are up on 4th be prepared to carry your luggage up those stairs. Kids ran up and down the halls all hours of the night. Housekeeping was good, they always made sure everything was fresh and changed for us. Our group ended up getting sick, we don't know if it was from the food or water. So just be mindful. You get what you pay for with the price. It's not totally bad, but it's not a higher end resort.

My husband & I stayed 19 days, 4th floor 1 bdr suite. The good: 2 bathrooms, amazing water and pressure, staff worked very hard to provide a good experience, Mexican sunset Festival dinner around the pool (oceanside) was incredible!! Such a lot of work by staff to set up, & the dancing stage show was fantastic! Only problem with that- was communication for that event was never highlighted or communicated to guests. Food was very good, pool gorgeous, beach accessible. There are two buildings, main reception one hosted buffet dining, Italian restaurant. Also has a smaller quieter pool with childrens pool. The not so good.. uncomfortable seating - in rooms and main area and all in need of upgrade; no WIfi except in lobby, lighting in living room and dining room suite dim and not enough; lighting in coffee shop also dim; music around the ocean side pool often at times, too loud, Ventilation in rooms also very loud. Shows every night also at same pool, also frequent and for those facing the pool.. loud. Tradeoff: fantastic views and sound of ocean waves. To compare.. we have stayed at Villa D Palmar (beautiful grounds but also dated rooms), Grand Miramar (gorgeous but inaccessible- only by car), and Hotel Mio.. very nice, but restaurant only for breakfast or poolside apps).. So tradeoffs: At the Pelicanos, great location, nice views, 2 pools, good food, great water pressure, comfortable beds and linens & especially really great staff. Bad, no Wifi, dated furniture, loud music.

Great service, very great service. Wifi in the rooms were spotty, that’s the only thing. Plus having only one buffet and one restaurant, we seemed to gravitate to the buffet for omelettes and tacos that would be freshly made. Get up early and claim your chairs by the beach, and be sure you leave a personal item or they will clear it after 45 minutes.

Cons: food was never hot only passably warm. The fish always seemed uncooked. a little bland. Neutral points/Things to consider: no direct beach access but very easy to access with a 1 min walk, no gym, wifi doesnt reach all rooms Pros: staff were great, afternoon oven fire pizza was perfect. my friend was vegetarian and he had lots of options for food. everything else about the facility was good.

Room was clean. Daily cleaning was performed . Just getting to the room had a sewer smell. Sewer Smell was there at night too. Not impressed with the all inclusive food. We ate out the entire 6 nights/days. Pool needed to be cleaned.

We got a good deal on this property and that's the only thing that saved out trip. On our first night my sister opened her suitcase after it being in the room for a few hours and there was a cockroach in it which spoiled the rest of the stay. It's as clean as a 3 start hotel can be so don't expect too much. We were able to get chairs every day by the pool which was great but not much in the way of being able to sit in the beach unless you want to sit on your towel and truly I don't know if there would be a penalty for that. The buffet was generally poor but I don't like buffets so maybe it is not bad. Certainly as we got into the weekend it was better but truly heinous on weekdays. Don't plan to eat at the restaurants because you won't be able to get a table. They only let you reserve the morning of, and every day we were told it was full and to try again tomorrow. Again all ok but I've learned some lessons booking all inclusive from this experience. Pictures do not match the aged property and rooms.

Stray cats peeing in the pool, wifi does not work in the rooms, overall a terrible experience. Do NOT trust this resort

I had so much fun in this resort. Yes it can look alittle outdated the rooms. But that was the least of my worries .I had clean sheets and my room was always left tidy. Me and my husband had a blast. Great food and music and the staff excellent service. Close to the beach. And I felt safe and the resort had great atmosphere. I would come here again.

Todo es muy bueno y tranquilo, el gran detalle que nos tocó una habitación con varias cucarachas!! ,

La peor experiencia en un hotel, cucarachas en la habitación, un estado de abandono total, el aire acondicionado muy ruidoso, se escucha todo de las habitaciones contiguas imposible descansar, camas viejas y sucias, la puerta hacia el balcón es un peligro no está bien fijo el cristal, la limpieza es insuficiente, fugas de agua en el baño, sin cortinas completas no hay privacidad, el baño completamente asqueroso. La fotos que muestran al momento de reservar la habitación no corresponden a lo que ofrecen, albercas sucias, servicio del personal insuficiente, la calidad de su bebidas es pésima. Cucarachas por todos lados. En fin el peor hotel que he visitado en mi vida. Mi recomendación es no reservar en este lugar, equivale a tirar el dinero. Terrible

old property , I had to request room change the tub of the rusty bathroom horrible the rusty night table lamps and only the light bulbs , I had no Internet in the room and the music in the Tequila bar very bad the salvageable was the staff who assisted me the accumulated cleaning dirt under the beds

On our first night we were given the wrong room with two beds instead of one. There was sand all over the floor and some of the lights didn’t work. The bathtub was rusted and water pressure was way to strong the sink would splash back.

Las habitaciones son muy viejas, tiene problemas en la regadera que salpica agua por todos lados, LAS HABITACIONES NO TIENEN WI-FI, solamente hay internet en áreas comunes. La comida es buena, las albercas también pero la habitación y el servicio de internet son malos. Honestamente no regresaríamos a ese hotel.

I stayed at this hotel and had an incredibly disappointing experience. The room was excessively humid, which triggered my allergies severely. My throat was constantly itchy, and I had trouble sleeping due to the discomfort. The thermostat was broken, so I had no control over the temperature, and the phone in the room didn’t work either, making it extremely inconvenient to contact the front desk. I spoke to two general managers about the issues. Both assured me they would resolve the situation, but nothing was ever fixed. I asked to be moved to another room, but they denied my request, claiming the hotel was overbooked and no other rooms were available. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The lack of accountability, poor maintenance, and disregard for guest comfort were unacceptable. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Older resort. Could use just a minor overall and fix up of each room. The bones are there, just everything is old/falling apart like the TV, phone, desks, some mattresses are really old, the shower heads should be replaced, the plastic pool chairs, the fake grass at the pool and the broken pool tiles. If you're use to 4-5 star resorts, this is likely not the place for you. The food was surprisly alright. Night time entertainment wasn't good. Primarily a resort for locals. I wouldn't stay here again, but I didn't overly dislike the place. I'm not a picky person though, sunshine is sunshine!

Sus instalaciones están deterioradas, nos tocó una habitación con algunas fallas que reportamos, una cama se ladeaba, no le funcionaban las patas; el drenaje hacía mucho ruido y el inodoro y lavabo se tapaban; las luces de la habitación hacían ruido y al final dejaron de funcionar; no hay conexión al wifi en ella; las tarjetas de acceso fallaron constantemente. La comida estaba aceptable pero el espacio del restaurante es reducido y tuvimos que hacer fila para entrar. El servicio de los trabajadores es con respeto, pero la mayoría no fue muy amable. En general, no me quedaron ganas de volver a este sitio.

Se siente un poco desactualizado el lugar, la comida no tiene muy buen sazón, lo que es hotdogs, hamburguesas y eso de snack sabe a pura grasa no a lo que son, las bebidas igual no tienen un menú o algo solamente sabor a alguna fruta, el restaurante de reservación sabe un poco mejor pero es complicado encontrar lugar, a todo le falta mucho sazón en general, la gente se roba las sillas de los balcones, las cortinas de la habitación estaban un poco rotas y no se podían cerrar bien, me intentaron abrir la habitación 2 veces en los últimos 2 días de estadía a las 4 de la mañana, en general, pudo haber sido una mejor experiencia, no vuelvo.

The rooms are super outdated. There is no rooms with Ocean views. You have to walk five minutes to the beach.

The staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. My room was another story. I requested a balcony but did not have a room with a balcony until we further negotiated one. The room next to us played ridiculously loud music early morning and evening, but that really wasn't the resort's fault.my room was a long distance from the beach. Overall, the staff was the best part of the stay

En lo ge eral bien, solo las almuada estaban muy duras y el teléfono de la habitación no servía y lo reporte dos veces a recepción y no lo arreglaron, alberca de buen tamaño y el buffet le falto variedad pero disfrute de la estancia

First off I have to say this review is going to be long. I came to the resort with my husband and two adult children. We stayed 7 nights and it was fantastic. Victor the front desk supervisor was kind and friendly and when we had an issue with our room he helped us get a new one. He made us feel comfortable and he was a wonderful kind man. Mauricio and Juan both work at the front desk and we're extremely helpful informative and all around just fantastic. We had two dinners at the reservation only restaurant where we met Carlos and Antonio. Talk about welcoming friendly people. We had great food, good conversation and they made us laugh. What a great experience. In the morning we had Raul often as our breakfast waiter, he was so helpful and kind, I don't think we could have been better taken care of anywhere else. In our first room we had Araceli as a house keeper and boy did she make our rooms comfy. In our second room we had Esther and she made sure I had all the coffee I needed and kept our room beautiful. We've been to Mexico multiple times and I have to say this is the best service we've ever had. The food all around was delicious the staff was amazing and the beach is right out the front door. The drinks were flowing and I highly recommend the bloody Marys at the pool bars. These guys know how to make you feel at home. We had massages and pedicures and a facial when we stayed also. If you want an amazing massage ask for Miss Linda or Angelica.

Personal muy atento

Nos hospedamos 4 días en el hotel, encontramos una oferta del 50% así que estuvo excelente por el precio que pagamos. El personal en general fue muy amable, solamente en el restaurante de especialidades (italiano), nos atendieron con mucha prisa. No tiene elevador, yo estaba lastimada de la rodilla y me cambiaron al primer piso sin problema, solamente la regadera está dentro de la tina y un poco más alto que el piso, en el cuarto que nos tocó, así que no lo recomendaría para alguien con problemas de movilidad.

When we arrived to the club we were told they did not have a room available for us. They accommodated us at the Grand which was a 10min walk with all our luggage on busy streets and unpaved walkways. When we got to the grand they provided us with a suite on the 1st floor. When we walked in, the smell of mold was so potent we couldn’t stay as my throat instantly got sore and started coughing uncontrollably so we called and they accommodated us to another floor. Upon checkout the front staff were so rude and told us all these concerns should have been brought to her (the managers) attention.. great maybe let your own staff know to bring all concerns to the manager .. not your paying guests. Beach chairs are limited and people reserve them far in advance Overall poor communication and unorganized terrible service

Es un excelente complejo y el personal muy atento. Solo tengo una observación y punto de mejora. En mi caso al llegar a hacer check in no sé me explicó lo que incluía mi brazalete, tampoco me dijeron cómo estaban los horarios de servicio de restaurante y tampoco lo que se podía realizar en el complejo, cómo en dónde se hubicaban las albercas, el área de niños nada. Tuve que estar preguntando y al hacer check out un señor nos dijo que con el brazalete podía permanecer hasta después de la comida, lo cual de haberlo sabido desde mi llegada lo hubiera hecho, entregando la habitación claro a las 11 pero hubiera disfrutado más con mi familia y no hubiera privado a mis hijos salirse pronto de la alberca

They originally checked us into a room with 2 double beds. The next morning I went to the front desk as we had booked a one bedroom suite Victor moved us to an ocean view suite which was lovely He also gave us extended checkout and some wine and upgraded our all inclusive meal plan. Victor was wonderful. So our stay ended being very very nice.

I’ve stayed there 4 nights in January, after housekeeper came to clean my room he/she stole $100 from my purse. I did report this to the reception but nothing was done. Absolutely nothing. They said they “didn’t find $100”. It was very unexpected and disappointing because I was there for my birthday and did plan to spend cash that I had with me. Be very careful if you’re going to stay there put everything valuable in a seyf. They didn’t even say sorry to me. Also overcharged on a shuttle service do not order it through them! I’m very disappointed about the fact that they steal

This is a great resort. The food was good and the location is walkable to the Malecon. The bathrooms in the rooms and in common areas need updating. There are 4 floors (100 steps) and no elevators. The 4th floor penthouse is large and the balcony is huge with table, chairs, and 2 loungers. The staff are awesome! I would stay again.

This hotel is old small and dirty. Pool’s dirty small. Walking distance to the beach. No food options. Don’t waste your money. Hotel for locals only

I like the property it’s very convenient to go any where even close to airport and city. And both malls.

We stayed in the older part of the resort, which was good as it is by the beach. However, the room was out dated but that really didn’t matter to us. Thought it was a good deal for the all inclusive. Enjoyed our time there.

This is a basic and clean hotel right in the boulevard with easy access to transit, Ubers or walking. Tons of amenities surround the plaza. The food is okay, but there is not a large selection. The housekeepers did a great job every day and if you needed anything extra it was brought to the room quickly. The beach is nice and a short walk across the street and up a path. Descent hotel for a descent price.

this property is old and lacks many amenities of newer resorts. the food was good in flavour but repetitive and simple. We did enjoy the stay. this hotel has a similar name as a nearby property so in face we intended the other one. between the two is a huge 20 story hotel partly under construction. It was the subject of the usual point share (time share by a different name) sales pitch which we did not participate. The included alcohol was mostly base quality and as a family oriented resort I suppose reduced the rowdiness. While it was priced about right for the age of the resort I would have like to see a fridge and furniture that was not also threadbare. All in all I am guessing that once the new towers are completed that there may be some demolition coming. The location was good and we walk a lot so about 4 K north of the malecon and near the same south of the marina. We took buses and returned by cab. Unrelated to this resort, Cabs are reasonable for the most part and even the airport is only a 150 peso drive. That said the Official transportation provider at the airport got us with a 650 peso fare to the hotel. Always ask and if you can figure out how to get off the airport property cabs are cheaper to local hotels in the Hotel Zone. We never had any problem with cabs and 4 people except at the airport where they only load 3 in a cab and 4 in mini vans.

beach front, nice staff

The property itself is pretty good for the price. The food options are limited for breakfast, lunch and dinner and many times the same food is offered at all three meals. The pools are decent. Staff is friendly. We did have a planned power outage however the hotel staff let us know ahead of time. The Tequila bar is boring however. If you are looking to party this is probably not the best place. For the Carouse restaurant which is reservation only, make sure you are there right at 7am to make the reservation. This is a decent experience, three course dinner however don’t get the later reservations because they run out of some dishes.

En general es muy buen lugar para hospedarse, el único detalle creo que sería la comida, es buena no lo niego pero es repetitiva, no hay mucha variedad. De ahí en más todo estuvo muy bien, las instalaciones bien, la playa bien, las albercas muy bien, las bebidas super bien.

Dejó mucho que desear la comida, deberían de tener por lo menos otros restaurante y más variedad en los platillos tanto en el desayuno, comida cena, y los tacos dejan mucho que desea

Su ubicación Lo que no me gusto es que eran muchas personas y para comer en ocasiones debía esperarse turno, el restaurante la atención muy breve de una hora Hablan de medio ambiente pero usan todo el tiempo desechables, lo cual es más dañino que lavar una tohalla

Estuvo bien, únicamente un par de comentarios, la comida muy pocas opciones en general para el buffet, increíblemente en pleno 2025 y el WiFi solo funcionaba en el lobby.

I really enjoyed this resort! For three stars the food was good, rooms simple but clean, service was great especially around the pool! The guys were very friendly, attentive, bringing drinks and food and making you feel welcomed. Shout out to Julian!
