The hotel is located a short walk from Baz city Center. All you need to do is follow Basing View to get to festival place. The hotel is very quiet inside, even though it’s next to a railway which I’ve never heard from my room. I like the fact that all the rooms have window windows that can be slightly opened so you can get some fresh air in the room. The air-conditioning works very effectively and you seem to get an air conditioning unit in the room which you set your individual temperature requirements. The staff are very friendly check-in that you can quite easily do it yourself. If you stay at this hotel Friday and arrive after 5 PM there is no requirement for you to pay for parking which is a bonus. The food served from the bar is very reasonable for the quality and taste however, I recommend you take the food to your room to avoid the tray delivery charge (this is the hotel charging you to deliver the food you just ordered) You will also find a Starbucks on site which is quite handy for your morning requirements of coffee and they do a very good Oatmeal. This car park is quite large, but sections of it are regularly closed off, and it can sometimes be hard to find a space, especially if you check in later because it has the Villahe Gym - so it’s full of all the people going to the gym. There are no designated hotel guest parking spaces.

There is a self check in, or fit those who like a more personal service from of house Kiah took me through the process and issues my key in under 5 minutes. Perfect for a tired traveler. Food at the bar restaurants goes on till late and for those wanting a pastry and coffee there is a Starbucks open till 7.00. The Gym and pool facility are high end with a friendly atmosphere.

We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. Lovely modern, clean rooms. Great facilities. Very spacious, well equipped gym. Swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Great bar and restaurant. Starbucks on site. Ample parking. Super friendly staff throughout. Highly recommended this amazing hotel!!

Not a great experience this time. We arrived in the early hours of the morning after a long day, having previously notified that hotel twice about this and been assured that there would be no problem. Night staff were unable to check us in or issue a key because our booking had been cancelled as a "no show" and their system was updating overnight which prevented them from rebooking us in to the hotel. The night manager engaged in phone browsing rather than helping her staff solve the problem and took a “computer says no” attitude. We were checked in after waiting for about 25 minutes, but there was no apology from the night manager who told me that I seemed stressed. The room was clean and comfortable and plenty of hot water. The blind did not fit correctly allowing some early morning light in to the bedroom. A front of house manager in the morning apologised for the delays and offered us complementary drinks. One of the two lifts is still out of service since my last visit over two weeks ago.

The room was spacious liked the bathroom there was the usual banging of the doors and could hear the gym on the floor below but no noisy guests. My only complaint was that all the ev charging points were not operating which was very inconvenient

The room had coke can left under the bed and pubic hair was in the shower not happy so we keft went home the same day was nit happy paid 85 pound for the stay and that was for breakfast too

We had a standard double room and it was very old and worn feeling. Stains on the carpet, bed, knocks in the furniture, dirt on the glass shower door, old dirty bathroom tiles. The bed was very hard and the changing area for the pool was dirty. The staff were friendly and breakfast was ok. The gluten free options were very limited, only some small bits of toast. No decaff coffee anywhere unless i bought it from Starbucks. This isnt the average village hotel and i really feel it lets the chain down.Thank goodness we only paid £60 inc breakfast.

Stayed here for work for 3 nights. Rooms are comfortable with a large tv with sky sports and a small work area. First night I was on the 2nd floor. This is horrific. It is right above a 24 hour gym so you hear people throwing weights and very loud music play 6:30am through to 11pm. No sleep can be had. Even when music is turned down it’s still on and people in the gym make a lot of noise. I was moved to the 4th floor for the next two night which was much quieter and comfortable. The food in the hotel was good and there is a good sports bar however they prioritise people not staying over residents which is frustrating and if large sports events are on you can struggle for a table in the restaurant. Over all would stay again but only on floors 4 or 5

Our room and all our friends rooms on the same floor were directly above the gym which woke us up at 4am when it opened and then at 5 am spinning classes we so loud it was like a nightclub in our room. No sound proofing so wouldnt be surprised if the floors above could also hear this.

Generally a nice hotel. My only issue is that I think my room may have been over the gym. There was the occasional loud bang/rumble as weights were being dropped below and some general noise. As it’s a 24hour gym this seemed to occur quite late and night and very early morning unfortunately

Had room 307. This was clearly based over the gym, as every 30 seconds the room rattled from a loud bang coming from the gym. Thankfully this stopped about 10:30, but then started again about 5:30am. Worst night sleep for years.

I’m a regular to this hotel since November 2024. The room I used to stay is on the fifth floor. The rooms on the 5th floor have been great. Room I got this time on second floor, the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. All in all it’s a good hotel, clean, bed and shower are great.

The best thing about this property was the staff, all were great, but one Zara was exceptional. Zara made our stay and others in my extended families stay notable. She took care of us from check-in to check-out, especially my grandnieces with special treats. Listen up Village Hotel Management, you have a gem in Zara and her customer service skills and empathy for guests should be taught to all staff. On this trip I stayed in six hotels from London to Paris to Amsterdam, but I can say that the Village Hotel stay was the second to none because of Zara.

I was double charged for the room and tried to work it out with a telephone call. I was told to report my card stolen and this be a fraudulent charge. I was charged for multiple breakfast, but only had one again tried to work this out on the telephone and was told you’ll have to report this as a fraudulent card charge. They were unable to help me at all, even though I went back to the desk before I checked out and they charge me for the same breakfast is again

I took my 13yr old granddaughter away for 2nights ,the hotel was amazing very modern just what a teenager wonts ,we had a brilliant time the pool , jacuzzi& stream room where brilliant lovely and clean and very friendly couldn’t do enough for you. What’s her name?we give a big shout out to Zara who was on reception what a lovely kind & friendly lady she even gave us a free drink to take away with us overall it was outstanding

Loved this hotel! The staff were beyond helpful and friendly especially the reception. Rooms lovely, breakfast had a good choice and the bar area had a great atmosphere. It was always lively especially with having the gym and pool. Near the railway station and shops and lots of parking. The only negative was when we tried to ring the hotel in a bit of an emergency and no one answered for ages, we had to ring the separate health club to get help. But otherwise would definitely go back and recommend it.

Received a call the day before my stay to find out they had overbooked the hotel and they had to move me, despite booking 2-3 weeks before. Offered an alternative in Bracknell or Eastleigh, nowhere near Basingstoke. They booked an alternative which was great, but when I checked in they stated it was common, that evening 10 others were in the same boat. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere in the first instance.

Great staff at check in. Reasonable car park charge at £5 for 24 hours. Breakfast was the usual choices, but staff again were friendly and helpful and the food was hot. Hotel is quite new, so its smart and clean. Bed was very comfy. Iron and board in room. Plenty of storage. My only negative is the glass wall and door on the bathroom. You can frost the wall but not the door- but even that gives little privacy. We didnt use the bar or restaurant. 15 min walk to town centre and Anvil theatre. We would use it again when visiting basingstoke

Nice modern hotel with everything we needed. Location wise it’s a 15 minute walk from Basingstoke train station but it was an easy enough walk. The area around is very quiet. Overall, no issues.

Breakfast is a disaster. Waited to get eggs, tea and toast now cold. Never mind pop some warm beans on that will warm it. Oh no beans!! Wait again at least they will be hot, when they arrive, freezing cold, never seen any heat. Maybe not bother with breakfast next time. It should never be that hard.

Really goos hotel stay. Lovely pool and facilities. Atrocious restaurant, and really terrible food for gluten free diners (only one option is GF and it was inedible). This has put me off booking again. There was a fair bit of noise from parties which carried on quite late but other than that it's a good value place.

Really great price for a decent overnight stay. Terrible pillows and quite a lot of noise which made it tricky to sleep. Amazing pool and facilities and staff really friendly and attentive. Restaurant food really awful for GF and drinks quite expensive, staff very polite and attentive however.

Welcoming staff. Beautiful (small but fine for us) room. Great bed and bedding. Fabulous shower. We stayed in a Clubroom on floor 5. In the evening the bar/grill had a great vibe. Lovely grilled chicken wraps and chips for lunch.

Parking was a nightmare as its rammed with gym goers and the restaurant had an hour wait for food both nights not sure why as the staff were cagy when challenged, subsequently due to a football match I couldn’t eat anyway in the restaurant on my second night. Not good for the corporate/business traveller who wants a quiet meal.

Room was clean and tidy. Bed was comfy, facilities and bar excellent. Bar food was good. Breakfast was a quite disappointing and I wish I had just gone for a Starbucks coffee and croissant instead as that is inside the hotel.
