Great property, great location, great roof top bar. Wonderful drinks. Subway stop 1 block away.

Stayed here for close proximity to baseball stadium (10 minute walk). Hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and super eager to accommodate. Rooftop bar was a definite plus with great views. Valet parking prices were kinda steep but I guess that was to be expected. Would definitely recommend and also would stay here in the future.

Loved the hotel it’s new and reminiscent of the Navy. To get ice and water you have to order from the front desk - an ice machine and water in the room works best when thirsty after midnight. The rooftop is nice but it’s a bar not a restaurant.

Overall good quality rooms and common areas. Showers were nice, as were the fitness amenities. Parking is a challenge but they have reasonably quick valet service. There were a couple of unexpected fees but nothing that broke the bank.

There are NO ice machines on any floors. We rang room service, never delivered on the ice. Minor issue

We waited more than 90 minutes to get our vehicle back from the valet. The valet workers themselves were clearly working really hard and trying to get as many people their vehicles as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, 90 minutes is insane. We complained to the front desk, who agreed to dock parking from our bill. That would be fine if they didn’t charge us for two days of parking despite us being there for just one day. Also, the room’s thermostat was unresponsive for awhile. Complained, front desk said they would provide a fan, and never did. Hotel was clean, and people were friendly. That goes a long way, but wasn’t enough to warrant anything more than 3/5.

Great hotel, great staff. Toilet had a slight leak that made a little noise when I got there but flushing it a few times fixed it. The elevators are really confusing and overly complicated.

Great location to walk the Navy Yard. Roof top added a great addition to our stay. DJ was good as well as the drinks.

The best thing about the hotel is the service. Valet, front desk and everyone you encounter is very attentive and cordial. Location at Navy Yard was convenient for us but you have to Uber or drive if you’re going to the monuments or museums which wasn’t a problem for us. The area is nice, safe and has plenty of options for dining, a CVS nearby and a Harry’s Teeter few blocks away. The hotel is pet friendly and so is the general area. A big negative is mold in the shower all around the silicone that seals the glass to the tile and looks gross. The cleaning staff does what they can but the sealant has to be removed and redone as the mold is underneath it. That was a big issue for us. Another minor issue were the towels. One batch smelled like chlorine but like they had been folded damp and were musty. They promptly replaced them. There’s a rooftop bar as well. The hotel has complimentary bikes you can use for 2 hours and the area is also bike friendly. Overall a good stay.

Good stay. Bathroom a bit dirty. The rooms are getting a bit used. A few touches could bring this hotel to what it used to be. Great area. Great service.

I liked the location. The common areas like carpeting were very dirty. I thought it would just be for 1 day but the carpet remained very dirty with debris during our entire 4 day stay. It's not really a 4 star.

All of the staff was friendly and most of the staff was helpful. The room was not clean. There was food on the floor, dirty tissues in the couch, caked on dust around the vent, the coffee pods were dirty. I wish I took the time to complain, but I was there for concert for only one night and in a rush, since the person that was checking us in said they would let us know when our room was ready, but never did. After 2 hours of waiting in the lobby, I went back to the counter and found out the room had been ready. I fwlt like, for the price, the room should've been much better.

Great location for a game at Nats stadium. Felt very safe walking home at night. The hotel was very clean, new and modern. Comfortable bed and pillows, superb AC. Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location, with many amenities (including the riverfront) within walking distance. The room was spacious and clean. The lighting was weak, which is sadly all too common. My other complaints are small, but symbolically important. 1. I used the makeup remover wipe in the bathroom the first night, but despite my leaving the empty wrapper on the counter and leaving ajar the lid to the box that contained it -- both quite intentional hints -- I did not receive replacement wipes for the remainder of my stay. 2. There was a coffee-maker and coffee packets in the room, but no tea bags provided (which I could have used with the coffee-maker). What gives? Billions of people in the world drink tea!!

Only thing we could not get regulated was the a/c. The vent blew down right on the bed so it felt like we were freezing if the air was up or down. But still love the place. It was our second time staying for a concert at stadium and will stay there next time too.

Staff was 20/10 amazing! Everyone is so nice, helpful and went out of their way to make sure it was a pleasurable stay. I highly recommend this place. Even if it’s a little further than you want to be from where you’re planning your visit. It’s top notch try and get the corner room. It’s beautiful.

Small vanity no counter space No chair in the room

It was good. Stayed here two years ago. The property showed some minor wear. Towels' ends were a bit frayed, hard to control the shower water temperature, door of the cabinet holding the mini bar was broken so they had a weird clip thing holding it shut. The walls are thin. Next door there was a family staying and a kid was crying and it was as if they were in the room with me.

My one complaint is that there is no decent light in the room to read by, not a single table lamp. Those little flashlight readers on the headboard don't do much good. It was so dark I had to go downstairs to the lobby to read last night, and even it didn't have good light!

Located in Yard. Am sure that when I booked I paid extra for a King room w/riverwalk view - Buildings have gone up and there is no view! Size of the room is good and nice functional bathroom/shower.

Need more lighting Air system not responsive It was set on 67 when we arrived - like an ice box Moved it to 76 and gone for 4 hrs- still very cold upon return No fan control that we could find Will not stay here again- very dissapointed

Loved the new modern look of the hotel, the rooms were also modern looking and clean, the bed was super comfortable, friendly and helpful staff and great location, will be staying again.

Great location with small, dark, poorly laid-out rooms with terrible bathrooms, horrible towels, and nearly non-existent front desk hospitality. Surrounding area was nice, and convenient to many amenities and attractions. Hyatt should be ashamed.

Awesome as usual, enjoy every visit. Million was a great hostess he went over and beyond to make sure check in was great.

My experience at the Thompson Washington DC by Hyatt hotel was enjoyable at first. However, I strongly advise anyone staying here to check your room three times before leaving. I checked out early in order to catch a train, only to realize not long after that I had left my laptop charger in my room. I promptly called the front desk for them to check if they had my charger - they called me back around 10 minutes later and shared that they *had* found my charger, but that I would need to file a "lost" report via a third party website in order for them to go through the process of shipping it back to me. I filed the report immediately after that phone call (10:49 AM on the day of check-out). I received an email from the third-party website three days later saying that the hotel had *not* located my item. This did not make sense, especially when the individual I spoke to that day I checked out verified that they had indeed found my charger. I called the hotel right after receiving that email & explained to them the situation – I was told that the front desk manager would call me back, & gave my information to them. Five days passed before I gave them another call - I was told the same thing, that the front desk manager would be in around an hour and a half later. However, I did not receive a follow-up phone call. After calling them for the third time this afternoon, I was immediately placed on hold without speaking to anyone. It's clear they do not want to resolve my issue.

The fromt desk staff be it early am like 200 am or 900 am or 500 pm the day after a global power outage. The folks at reception are kind, gentle, helpful, lovely to talk to , some of the best front dsk welcome service. I’ve ever Had. experienced

Stayed here one night for a concert and I would stay again based on the room’s cleanliness, surrounding area, and the breakfast lounge. The valet service was also quick - very professional gentleman working there. However, when I returned from the concert after midnight, my hotel key didn’t work. I went to the front desk and she insisted I was in a different room, based on my balcony reservation. I knew which room I checked into, but I went to the room she thought I had and my key still didn’t work. I returned to the front desk and she informed me that after I checked in, the guy who checked me in had me down in the system for a completely different room. I was very concerned because that obviously meant that access to tbr room I was actually in could’ve been given to someone else. I heard her call the maintenance man and ask him to give me access to the room and that I was going to meet him in the hallway. The maintenance man ended up letting my boyfriend in the room without me being there… then she proceeded to make up for it with free breakfast. Lol. I don’t think she understood my exact concern. Safety of women guests is obviously not a top priority. Apparently you have to make a call for ice to be delivered to your room. We called multiple times with no answer, so we went down to the front desk to ask in person, where they acknowledged they saw us calling twice. There were 5 people working, doing nothing, staring at a phone ring? lol again.

Staff is incredible from Million at the door to Ephram at the desk and everyone in between. Really first rate team.

I travel to the DMV often. Generally, when i book my stays, I try to stay at a Bon Voy property. Somehow this go around I was directed to the Thompson and what a stay it was. Nice, clean and comfortable. The staff is stellar!

Had a lovely stay at the Thompson Washington DC Hyatt. All the staff were friendly and attentive and always happy to help. Had breakfast here most days and bar food one evening. All delicious. This is a fabulous hotel and I would highly recommend it.

The property is very well kept and nice. The staff specifically front desk were very rude, we had a situation where the hotel double charged my sisters card, and I the hotel was not helpful in providing a resolution to this situation after it was there fault. It was very frustrating that manager of the hotel couldn’t resolve the issues or didn’t want to solve it because she was unaware of the “conversation” that happen between my sister and non managerial staff members. We were also lied to by the staff working the roof top bar one night of the closure time of the bar. We arrived at the roof top bar for 9:50, wasn't greater or served, but was helping another member at the bar. The actual time of the bar closure was 11:00pm but was told they closed at 10pm after sitting at the bar for more than 15 mins without getting served.

Excellent access to the waterfront, and only 2 blocks from the Washington Nationals stadium.

Great location near the Waterfront, Nationals Stadium and a host of restaurants nearby. WMATA station nearby as well for those wanting to mill about without a car.

Perfect location for my stay in DC. Modern decor, well-appointed room, close to Metro stop.

This place was in an ideal location — just a short walk to the ballpark, which was perfect for catching a game. Tons of great food options within walking distance, from casual bites to sit-down spots. Only a block from a cozy coffee shop that became our morning go-to, and the rooftop bar nearby had awesome views and a great atmosphere to wind down at night. Public transportation was super convenient too, with a metro subway station close by that made it easy to explore other parts of the city. The area felt safe and walkable, with a good mix of energy and comfort. Would absolutely stay here again — it made our trip easy and enjoyable from start to finish.

Great hotel for a weekend in Washington. It’s a bit outside the main touristic area, but that’s actually nice because you can stroll along the river peacefully in the evening. The hotel is calm yet lively, as its rooftop! The rooms are clean with hardwood floors, comfortable beds, a walk-in shower, and the decor is both modern and cozy at night. We ate at the hotel; there weren’t many options on the menu but the food was excellent, and you have plenty other good options in the area. We’ll definitely come back.

Navy Yard location is good for a game any the rooftop bar is fun but noisy area and even up high are room was noisy.

Easy parking at the hotel and right by baseball stadium. Easy to find great food nearby and safe area. Great spot would def come back!

Wonderful location in the Navy Yard. Metro stop nearby to go to other areas. Unfortunately located next to the water treatment plant so the walkway on that side of building (on the outside) was stinky & you could smell it outside on the rooftop bar. Also a reading light in our room didn’t work and it couldn’t be fixed due to lack of parts.

Everything was great as for us allowing us to check in 2 hours early and a bit late. Room and view was great. Only think is we didn’t have working outlets to charge our phone on either side of the bed. And the attached restaurants was super slow. But that more of the restaurant and not the hotel. Room service was not great food was cold and supper expensive for fires and sliders Other than that hotel was nice and close to everything. Roof top bar and star was amazing

The breakfast spot service in this hotel is awful, especially for any one of color. A gentle man with his son and myself with my family waited for over 30 minutes plus to be seated while white couples who came in after us were seated in front of us with no issues. This type of behavior was sickening to my stomach and should not still be happening. The server was awful and because gratuity was included they didn’t care to give us service. We saw our server maybe twice during our entire breakfast. I had to go find the server just to checkout.

Rooftop bar was nice. Breakfast was delicious.

Hotel was nice and fancy but somewhat impractical. The shower design was abysmal—water spilled all over the ground despite my efforts to redirect the shower head. Also, the heater wasn’t working, so it was freezing cold all night. And do not advertise “Breakfast Included” on websites if you do not serve breakfast. Having a restaurant downstairs that serves breakfast at the visitor’s expense while advertising it as complimentary breakfast is just shameless.

Staff was wonderful, especially Blue the bartender. Hotel is super clean with modern amenities. Tons of dining and entertainment is nearby.

This was a great location for our stay. The hotel was clean and welcoming. The breakfast was good, but be aware that they will add to your bill the gratuity. This seemed strange to us when the breakfast was "free." We would stay here again, but would not add the extra cost for breakfast. There are many restaurants in this area. Overall, very nice place to stay!

This is a beautiful property and the staff is very friendly. The only issue is the service in the restaurant. They were very friendly, but they were so slow and did not pay attention. For the price of the food I wanted more attentive service. Meals were delivered incomplete and apps coming on top or after entrees. No one ever got their food at the same time. Dinner or breakfast, it was the same. They really need to better train the waitstaff.
