Room was spacious and clean! Slept five people very comfortably, with space to relax out of bed as well. Rooftop lounge was a good space to go for fresh air. Check in was very smooth, with space to leave luggage in the lobby if we arrived early. Walking distance to a nearby Lawsons for any late night needs.

Limited laundry facilities. Perhaps a reservation system. A couple tied up all the machines even into 5am. One of the reasons for booking here was availability of laundry and over 3 days we were unable to use any machines

Located a short walk from Tofukuji Station, we found this to be a nice quiet place to stay. The rooms were very spacious and a perfect blend of Japanese style while still accommodating western hotel expectations. A kitchenette allowed us to eat in during a heavy rain and a washer-dryer enabled us to pack less. The roof-top area is fantastic for relaxing. I would have appreciated knowing about a Kyoto hotel tax ahead of arrival.

it is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. The location is a little out-of-the-way so you will have to use an Uber or taxi to get to most of the sites. The train to Nara is about an 11 minute walk from the hotel. I took a taxi to the Gion one day, but walk back to the hotel after strolling through the Gion area and Potocho Alley (not sure the spelling of that) and it took me a half hour to get back to the hotel. They offer you free laundry, which is on the first floor near the elevator, but there is only three combination washer dryers, and a load to be washed and dried takes 5 to 6 hours so it is almost impossible to find unavailable washing machine. they either have to get more machines or start charging for a load which will cut down on the demand but like I said I checked 20 or 30 times to see if there was a machine available and I was on the first floor only about a one minute walk away from the laundry room and it wasn’t until the last morning before we checked out that there was a free machine. The laundry room was probably the most aggravating part of the day. Also, they do not do any housekeeping until you leave. They don’t change the bed. They certainly don’t make the bed. They don’t empty waste baskets so all that is up to you. There was a bag outside our room where you would drop dirty towels, and you could ask at the front desk for new towels.

Nice place to stay, within 10 - 15 minute walk from Kyoto station, quiet residential feel, rooftop patio is very nice to relax on with great views, and the staff are inviting (friendly) and helpful. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. 🙂👍

I thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop terrace, which offered a breathtaking 360-degree view. It was great to watch the sunrise and sunset. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with a separate room behind sliding doors. The location of the hotel was a 20-minute brisk walk from Kyoto Station. It’s hidden away in a quiet area.

Location not easy to find using Google Map. About 25 mins walk from Tofukuji station. However, convenient to take bus to tourist spots. The room is spacious for 5 pax, with 1 shared bathroom. Free usuage of washing machine & dryer but dryers are not working well. Staff was helpful but hotel is unable to arrange luggage delivery from Kyoto to Tokyo hotel.

Very spacious room, enough for family of six. Only one bathroom. Nice jacuzzi tub though. Bathroom would’ve more versatile if the shower door is opaque, not see through. Mini kitchen is helpful since the property does not have a restaurant. Some of front desk staff do not speak English. English staff assisted in getting taxi to Kyoto station (too far to lug the luggages). Easy 10 minutes walk to Tofukuji station for JR and Keihan line.

Nice room and service. Dryer on washing machine not working properly. Had to take clothes to laundromat to finish drying.

Rented the presidential suite 501. It was spacious and perfect for our family of four adults. The area is residential and not super convenient to dining options. You can walk to two different transportation lines but we used uber and it was reasonable and comparable in price for four persons. The only thing that could have been better was a thorough cleaning of the carpet and sofa which had stains on it.. Beds were great. Neighborhood is quiet and well priced.

Dirty, clogged sinks.

The room is spacious however not in a good clean condition, the under bed and the sofa area don’t seem to be cleaned for a long period. We booked 6-night stay and the hotel only has the self service for the towel exchanging and the garbage disposal at the front desk, which is not quite convenient. The kitchenette and utensils are great assets for the long stay. Location wise is okay if 10-15 minutes walking is not a problem, overall I would give 3-3.5 out of 5 mainly due to the clean condition.

I stayed for 5 nights but there was no housekeeping during my stay. Couldn't request cleaning daily.

Cleanliness was disappointing — there were chunks of hair in the bathtub and stains on the couch, which really shouldn’t happen. The bed was also extremely firm, making it hard to get comfortable.

The decor was shocking with dirty marks and holes on the sofa and carpet. The kitchen was ill- equipped so difficult to self cater. There was no coffee machine - instant coffee only. The windows were frosted over which made it feel like a dungeon. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom very good. We expected more from the presidential suite. Mr Trump would not be happy!

We enjoyed our stay at Randor Residential Hotel. The beds were comfortable and the sheets and towels were clean. We would recommend the hotel for convenience as it is super close to the train station, which is ideal for going to Kyoto station and other parts of Kyoto. There seemed to be a lack of cleanliness around the kitchen and bathroom area. But overall the apartment was clean and it did fit our needs well.

Great location. Hotel stay was great. Lots of space for the 3 of us. Stayed 5 nights. Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. Plenty of space to relax in. Beds were great and large. Convenient to train stations, restaurants, 7-11, Lawson’s and Family market. Steve

Staff was okay, room had dust in areas that show it just gets a quick clean when guests leave. Bed was legit rock solid, not that it was a bad stay by any means.

Thr best part of the room was the bathing room. Beds were hard and keeping room warm was challenging. Staff was very friendly.

Super friendly staff, let us store our luggage before check in and the luggage was waiting for our us in our room when we arrived at check in time, the bathroom was giant (with an amazing shower x bath tub) and 3 guests in one room did not feel cramped at all. Great wifi as well. A 10 minute walk to the nearest train was definitely worth it. Would stay again

Close, but not that close. You will have to walk some to get into the city for stores and traveling in and out. Staff speaks some English and you can get by with a translating app. Be aware they are not there 24 hours. Rooms were spacious and average. Probably needed a bit more cleaning but was sufficient. Rooms are not sound proof and you can hear your upstairs neighbors footsteps. The only issue I had during my stay was that while I was in the room, someone opened my door, saw me and quickly shut the door using the personal digital code assigned to me and only me (the room key is a digital code as opposed to a key card) and it scared me. When I asked the front desk about it (because they do not clean during your stay so there is no housekeeping), they apologized and issued me a new code but I wondered who was trying to access my room without my knowledge with my personal belongings in there. Just be sure to secure your items as there is no room safe. Otherwise, I would say it was an average stay.

Best location to all attractions. Center location to everything. Have luggage storage service option as well. Staff speaks good English. Have paid laundry service room. The best!

I have visited Japan and Kyoto multiple times, and overall, my experiences have been very positive. There was even a taxi driver who went above and beyond to help me find a restaurant under Kyoto Station. However, a single incident can ruin an otherwise pleasant stay. I liked the hotel overall, but my experience was marred by the front desk staff member named Natayama. The manager should easily identify her from my stay from 7/1-4. She was unfriendly, did not stand up to greet us, and instead just stared at us with a rude expression. She treated us not as guests but almost as if we were thieves. This happened not only to me but also to my wife. When I asked her for more towels, it took a long time to receive them, and there was no communication in the process. It felt very rude! I travel around the world and can discern when there is discrimination. I find this kind of attitude unacceptable. It's a good hotel overall, but the customer service was very rude (specifically, Natayama).

Randor was amazing and I cannot praise it enough honestly. I would recommend it for anyone, the rooms were extremely spacious and the staff was helpful.

Staff was not very helpful and flippant when asking basic questions such as directions and transportation options. I also specifically asked to not be on the ground floor. The universal DGAF response was loud and clear.

Check in went smoothly and everything was within walking distance. The tofukuji station being nearby made it easy to travel around kyoto.

You will be able to go on a nice walk. If you use delivery service for luggage, this hotel will receive them, but there was no service to send luggage. Nearby Lawson only accepted two suitcases a day. We had to go to Kyoto Station postal office to forward our luggage. Also, dining and shopping is very limited. The best option is to go to Kyoto Station.

I gave 4 stars only because there is not much in the sounding area. But it is walkable to public transportation and spacious clean rooms. Great for family.

Amenities were excellent at this hotel. Especially if you book yhe executive suite, everything you need is there. Washer/dryer, tub, kitchen. It is a bit away from downtown so you will need to travel by foot or metro to get around.

Lovely apart-hotel, wish we had stayed longer. 10-15m walk to the nearest station, with a few good options for food near there too

Hotel was clean and spacious for a family of 5. Laundry facilities were not so great. It took hours for our clothes. There was not always someone at the front desk, even in the middle of the day. Hotel is nice, but it is a good walk to the nearest train station, and with a large family and luggage in the heat it was a chore. When we asked where the nearest place to eat was they suggest we take a train to Kyoto Station. Communication and helpfulness towards are families needs were not met with much urgency.

Very nice hotel. Modern. Very new and clean. Felt it was a little far from subway station (10 min) walk. Not close to convenient store or coffee shops (5 min or more walk). And restaurant options are limited. But if you don’t mind a little walking it is easy to find the above. Definitely would consider staying again

Great value for money. Fabulous bathroom with great toiletries. Rooms and furniture need a refurb. Comfy beds. Very spacious suites. In a quiet residential area handy for fushimi inari. No restaurant and local recommended Teppanyaki restaurant didnt want our custom! Found a lovely japanese bbq restaurant instead.

The hotel is very nice, our room was very large and had a kitchen and spacious bathroom. The only thing we didn’t like is that the hotel is located in a residential area and doesn’t have any restaurants nearby.

Only place near by to eat is at the train station 10min walk away. Has a laundry onsite which was very handy. Room was a good size.

Condition of the hotel is not bad but it is not convenient for your meals. It is say about 12 minutes walk from the hotel to the train station. All along the streets, there are small restaurants but it looks that there are just limited stuffs for you to choose for your appetite. We like the hotel room sized OK for 3 people and all things in the room are neat.
