Wonderful adult pool area. Luxurious bedding, great night's sleep, hot showers! Close to everything. We enjoyed our stay.

Todo muy bien, sólo el detalle del estacionamiento. No es para nada amplio, asi que si no encuentras lugar, tendrás que dejar el carro en el avenida.

Great support from Staff. Room was clean and everything working fine. Hotel is quite pretty. The opportunity is on the pool towels availability.

Enjoyed the hotel itself very much. It is loud in the area though, late into the night. Staff were friendly. The restaurant is excellent. The room could probably use some special attention, but it was large and comfortable. The pool and pool-side service were awesome, but the loungers and towels are looking pretty worn out. Overall positive! The property itself is very beautiful.

Mexican colonial style. You get what you pay. Food and beverages are tasty but expensive. Staff very friendly and kind but they could pay more attention to you on the pools areas. Something I disliked was that a family with childrens were at the adults pool and the staff didn't say anything.

El hotel tiene una bonita arquitectura pero se ve muy viejo aunque está limpio si deja mucho que desear que las ventanas no cierren bien, todas las puertas rechinan, los baños viejos y desactualizados incluso para abrir la puerta de la habitación es necesario usar llave por lo que solo te dan una copia. El restaurante del hotel es vegano lo cual me parece sumamente limitativo, las toallas tanto del baño como para la alberca se ven viejas y deshilachadas en fin es una lástima porque podría ser un lugar muy bonito pero tristemente se ve muy viejo y sin buen mantenimiento. Está justo frente a la playa pero hasta que llegas te dicen que esa playa es imposible para disfrutar por el fuerte oleaje. Está muy cerca de bares y restaurantes pero no de la mejor calidad

How this hotel has a four star rating is beyond me. Rooms are old and bathroom was completely rundown - really bad. No toilet paper roller, so the toilet paper was set on the back of the toilet. Chipped tile everywhere, old grungy toilet and sinks. I don't think a thing has been done to upgrade this place since it was built. The first (and only) night we were there there were so many ants in the bathroom and coming into the bedroom that we had to put everything up off the floor. The pools, which look so clean in the photos, are not. I wouldn't swim in any of them - yuck. "Balconies" were narrow and had rusted railings and old, weathered, uncomfortable chairs on them. We booked this place for 10 days but left after the first night and moved on to a MUCH nicer hotel for less money.

This is a very nice and friendly hotel. The room is a little old. The room we had was up many stairs and had 2 double beds. Queen beds would have been better. The bathroom had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. But either the paint was faded or there was mold on the ceiling. But the ceiling was 4 meters high so it was ok. Service was good in the bar and restaurant. But the food is seafood and vegetarian. No meat options. Overall it was a very good experience.

The stay wasn’t as good as expected. The transfer didn’t pick us up at the airport. The room was noisy from the neighbours, there was a bad smell in the room, the toilet was leaking and the whole hotel could use a rebuild. Especially the shower was very poor! Pool area is fine, but pool is a bit dirty. The breakfast is ok, but a little expensive compared to other options around Puerto Escondidio - where many beach clubs are better quality at a lower price. When we were heading home and asked for a taxi at the reception, they told us to pick one up in the street.. not the kind of service I expect

Grounds are in good shape. T From the outside the Hotel is nice. But the rooms are another story. Old, moldy, musty and in terrible shape . But the staff was kind. Lety the Pool server was amazing and so friendly. She even brought us her homemade cupcakes one morning.

It was a great hotel with two pools and a restaurants. Across from the beach and lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Property and rooms were clean and tidy. Rooms need to be upgraded but everything worked and everything was very clean.

The grounds are nice enough. But the rooms are in terrible shape. Mold on the walls and terrible sewer smell. The pool server Lety was incredible, helpful and so sweet. The room service waiters too were very nice and helpful

The rooms were spacious, the location was great, & the staff was professional. Freddy was amazing! However, that’s where the compliments end. The hotel professes to be “family friendly” - which is why we booked it - yet was confused about getting a babysitter, despite advertising services on its website & confirming with me ahead of the trip on WhatsApp. In addition, when I found my own, cheaper babysitter, I was told the hotel normally charges 500 pesos for the person being in the room, even though she wouldn’t be staying overnight or using any of the hotel amenities. Luckily, I was not charged. The hotel also charges for everything. It claims to have a small, complimentary breakfast, but only provides coffee and tea and charges for orange juice - which again for a “family friendly” place seems odd. The food at the restaurant lacks flavor & is overpriced. Things that normally come standard in every hotel room (ie a hairdryer or iron) have to be specifically requested. The towels & sheets are old & ragged. Finally, I’m pretty sure we experienced racism on our way to the airport. We reserved a taxi to the airport the day we checked in. As I was checking out, the receptionist confirmed our taxi would be there at noon. Not only did we have to re-request it and wait, a white couple came after us & the host allowed them to get in the next taxi that arrived while making us wait longer. I did not appreciate that. For all these reasons, I will not be back, nor will I recommend it.

Location is good, hotel is really outdated with worn out rooms. Room isolation is poor which makes the room very noisy

We had an incredible time staying here. It is so beautiful and relaxing. Such lovely and kind staff. The only issue was that they had terrible Wi-Fi. My brother had to work a lot so that was a real problem.

Beautiful place! Staff was the best! Stayed in the superior suite. Amazing views from the balcony’s! Pool areas are beautiful. Food was top quality! Would definitely go back!

Es la segunda vez que me quedo en ese hotel, porque es bonito, seguro y frente al mar. Pero esta vez me tocó una cama súper incómoda. El colchón estaba duro y hundido y las sábanas eran como de poliester y muuuuuuuy calientes. Además, no sacudían la cama, porque me acostaba y se sentía arenosa. Por lo demás, es un excelente hotel. El restaurante es delicioso; prueben los camarones al coco. Las albercas son climatizadas. Y los espacios comunes son muy tranquilos. Volvería una vez más

The hotel is very charming. They have 2 pools, one for families and one for adults only. We were one one end of the "malecon" but everything was easily walkable and felt safe. There was a beach with a more swimmable area a short walk up the coast. My only two complaints are: 1. We had nocturnal birds right outside our patio door that call to each other every few seconds ALL NIGHT LONG. Literally from 6 or 7 PM until about 6 AM. Bring earplugs. That was the only way I could sleep. 2. They have a lovely patio area with a palapa and chairs but they don't allow any outside food or beverages even though this area is not in their onsite restaurant. Also the restaurant is vegetarian. This policy was disappointing because we were there with friends we only see every few years and would have loved to have had some snacks and beverages together under the palapa. Other than those, it was a lovely stay in a cute beach town.

The room was so spacious and rustic looking it was awesome. The service was very attentive, quick, and super nice.

This was our second time going. The first time we went they were friendly and pleasant. This time I feel like they just put us in a room next to reception and didn’t ask if that would work. The older lady at reception acted like we were bothering her. The younger gal was more pleasant. Our room had the noise of the traffic of the street and everyone coming and going. Room 11 if over priced for the bad experience.

We chose the large suite closest to the beach, and it has probably the best sunsets in pto Escondido. Air conditioning works fabulously well. Nice pool. Very quiet. Honestly, WIFI is terrible here. I’m retired so I can get through it. But..If you need to some work away, you wouldn’t be able to do it.

The hot water in our bathroom wasn't hot enough. The hotel is outdated and the beach that it sits on is not conducive to use due to intense waves. The staff is very friendly and made us feel welcomed.

Slow service by the pool & maid service threw my extra blanket and clothes on the chair 6 out of 5 night I had to ask for shampoo & confused

I’m so bummed to have to write this, but I’d like to warn other travelers to Hotel Santa Fe. Long story short, money was stolen out of our bags. A sign is posted stating the hotel is not responsible for personal items left in rooms, additionally, we had to sign a copy of that policy at check-in. This was a first for me in my travels, of course it’s usually noted in a hotel’s policy, but I haven’t had to sign a waiver distinctly and exclusively stating the hotel was not responsible for items left in rooms. I remarked to my partner that it was odd at the outset. I tried to put passports and cash in the safe but it beeped incessantly and we finally removed the batteries. This was our mistake. We should’ve talked to staff and fixed the safe. But, we were focused on enjoying our stay. At the end of a nice vacation, we’re packing our bags and realize cash that was left in our passports, intentionally tucked away into a personal bag, was gone. We searched all over, tried to think of if we had moved it, but we had no need for US currency the entire vacation. We packed and unpacked over again. Unfortunately, the only outcome we can conceive is that housekeeping (which cleans the rooms daily) searched (or rummaged?) our things and took the cash. The hotel grounds were well kept, staff was friendly, it was a sad way to end an otherwise lovely stay.

We came here to stay in Puerto Escondido for the first time and the hotel was truly one of the highlights of the trip. First of all, the property is gorgeous! It is lush with gardens, stroller accessible, our room was super clean and spacious too. The view of the beach just outside our room was incredible, good for watching the sunset. The restaurant is lovely, food is fantastic and the staff are so friendly and were super sweet with my kids. Some fresh tortillas are made each morning and you can watch just bedside the restaurant. The pool for kids and the one for adults were both perfect. Comfortable temperature, comfy lounge chairs, and fresh towels at reception. The receptionist was super helpful, my son had a medical emergency and she helped us find a paediatric clinic. I would highly recommend the excursion offered to release the baby turtles. The woman organizing it was great! She accommodated our entire wedding party even though they weren’t staying at the hotel with us. They organized for two vans to come pick us up and bring us back! The conservation organization for the turtles is doing amazing work I could write a million nice things about it. I would recommend Hotel Santa Fe to everyone! When our group saw where we were staying, they wished they booked the same hotel. Easily one of the best vacations ever!

Receptionist was very rude and not helpful, the rooms were dirty and had a bad smell. Pictures are not accurate, the pools were nice and it is very close to the beach on the plus side.

What an amazing property to stay! My husband and I stayed for a long weekend vacation and our stay was very pleasant. The room was very clean and spacious! The AC worked perfectly and the hotel staff was amazing. Easy check-in and check-out process! Funny story I would like to share to show how amazing the staff at this hotel is: My husband and I arrived at Puerto Escondido airport and I looked at his hand and his wedding band was missing! After a (MINOR!!) panic attack at the airport, I called the hotel to have them check if his wedding band was left in the safe of the hotel room. Five minutes later, they called and confirmed that the ring was left in the room. They offered to deliver the ring at the airport so we wouldn't miss our flight back to California. I was SOOOOOOOO thankful to everyone and we were able to fly back right on time. It was not the material value of the ring, but the sentiment we have towards our original wedding bands. We were beyond grateful to all the staff and would definitely recommend this hotel!

I will say from the onset that this is a great hotel. Beautifully laid out and the staff was wonderful. It is at the end of the strip so it is just the right distance to avoid the disco music that plays until all hours of the morning. The staff is delightful and very kind. All of that being said... Upon our arrival there were 3 ladies behind the counter and the one who appeared to be in charge put us in room 32. It was late, we were tired and the room was suitable and we crashed. The next morning we awoke to realize that the room was situated in the "middle" of the complex. Our bath and shower was directly next to the staff break area which provided elevated voices from morning to dark. Every window and the balcony in the room opened onto a thoroughfare or walk way so that we had to keep all of the blinds closed 24 hours. The worst happened when we went to take a shower and a flood of sewer gas vented from the drains and filled the room to the point that we had to dress and hurry out to get air! When I politely went to the front desk to ask for another room and I offered to pay if there was a charge to upgrade. The lady in charge was not there but the other two very sheepishly apologized and immediately had us moved to a beautiful room on the second floor. The hotel was no where near full and from their sheepish reaction to my request, they were fully aware of the conditions in room 32 from the onset.

The first of two days I never left the Property. Nice room, fabulous pool, beautiful sunset, good food, friendly staff, across the street from the beach (not a swimming beach). What’s not to like?!

Además, por encontrarse justo al inicio, es muy tranquilo, céntrico y fácil de llegar. El hotel cuenta con excelentes instalaciones. Las dos albercas muy agradables Las habitaciones son amplias y con los servicios básicos necesarios para tener una estancia placentera.

Nos hospedamos en una suite Jr. habitación bien cómoda agua caliente aire acondicionado funcionando bien. Lo único que no me encantó fue la comida del restaurant. Las pescadillas estaban muy ricas pero tenían un cabello largo lo cual fue asqueroso. Y el espagueti de mi hija no estaba bien cocido estaba duro y solo era espagueti al burro que tampoco se lo quiso comer. Mala suerte tuvimos.

The Restaurant and Terrace are really wonderful. A great place to stay and a wonderful place to eat! Try the Tuna or any of the fish.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the historic Hotel Sante Fe! Gracious service, charming lay-out, two well maintained pools, and a lovely terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Vegan fare at the hotel restaurant was delicious and convenient (make sure to reserve a table on the oceanfront side).
