There was a storm on the evening I arrived. The car park was flooded and the hotel card payment system was down. In addition the ceiling in the dining area developed a leak The staff worked very hard and diligently to battle on tegardless

Arrived late -10:00pm- and all doors were closed and dark. Entrance is in the back but there was no sign of it in the front. Place is simple but friendly. Location is not very convenient but the price was right.

The room was clean, staff were extremely friendly, there is ample parking on site and the breakfast was good. The hotel itself could do with a revamp as it is a little dated, however if you are in Birmingham for 1 or 2 nights it is a good option and easy to get to the city centre.

Great value. Pub was a little loud on the Saturday night, but we just turned the Tv up and it was fine. Great location for what we needed and plenty of shops around. Good value, nice staff.

Good value stay and proximity to Bournville Station meant getting into the city for a gig was easy. Comfortable overall although mattresses could be improved. Reasonable breakfast, useful car park, clean room and bathroom. Overall, would stay again but some tweaks would improve good to great: receptionist should greet you even if on phone and if it's an extended call, maybe pause it, or suggest you sit, felt like an imposotion that we had turned up; more lighting required when returning to the rear extrance at night (maybe lights on the steps, in tubs etc); better signage from car park to reception; the rear beer garden could be beautified a bit. However, we had space, it was good value, the old photos were a nice touch. Overall, recommended.

The staff were fine and friendly, this was possibly the only redeeming factor. The hotel was dirty, there was rubbish in the halls and the room was filthy. The bedding was clean but it was clear that the carpet had not been vacuumed, nor had the surfaces been wiped. The bed was sagging in the middle.The shower was mouldy and was without it's kickboard. The toilet seat was broken, likely due to the placement of the toilet roll holder directly behind the toilet. I would not recommend this hotel and I will never be staying there again.

The room was an ok size, the beds are extememly uncomfortable with old sunken mattresses. The vathroom was clean but the carpet needes hoovering and the walls in the bedroom were dirty. The breakfast was terrible.

The room was basic but clean, however I was disappointed, there wasn't a hair dryer and the room above the bathroom started to leak into the bathroom of the room I was staying in, which wasn't good as the bathroom floor was covered in water. I had to put some towels down and put the bin under the leak. The staff were friendly enough however I think they could be more professional as they where using there phones whilst customers in the bar and restaurant. I had steak on the evening which was very nice however the cooked breakfast the next morning wasn't great. Probably would stay again as the price was very reasonable.

Our stay was mediocre. The room wasn't the cleanest as there were hairs on the bed and was not in a good state of repair, for instance there were numerous scuff marks on the wall, evidence of a leak on the ceiling in the bathroom and the TV remote didn't work properly. Not a huge selection for dinner and breakfast. Won't be staying here again

I don't write reviews much, but such attention to detail needs to be rewarded. Check in easy, large car park, bathroom was so clean the taps shone, bed comfortable and linen crisp, and even the sachets were lined up! Amazing service for the price and not disturbed by any noise from the pub below. No hestation in recomending and will come back.

The bed was extremely soft and the springs were uncomfortable, which caused me severe back pain. I wasn’t able to walk properly for three days because of it. I informed the hotel, but even though the website showed available rooms, they told me there were no rooms available and refused to change my room.

The room was so hot not air con or fan and couldn’t open a window had to ask to be moved to another room as my grandson got so overheated he came out in a rash and is only 4 so he was very upset and distressed we were moved to another room were we could at least open the window

The room was very acceptable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Sound proofing in room wasn't great, I could here TV in adjoining room and footsteps above. Hotel rooms didn't have soft closing doors so there was lots of slamming. Not the hotels fault, but I stayed during one of the hottest weeks of the year, so Aircon would have been nice. But overall for the price it was great value for money.

Basic rooms . Only a little stool to sit on . Should have a proper chair . Only big lights . Should invest in some bedside lamps . Mouldy silicon in shower . Electric heater ok on mild nights but underpowered for the size of room on a cold night . -2 some nights I was there. Minor points the management could improve which all could be fixed in a day or two . Paper thin walls for a new extension . Could hear the two guys having a conversation clearly next door . Should have spent more money on sound board and more insulation. Bed was comfortable and when they two next door eventually shut up it was quiet enough to get a sleep .

The hotel although basic is clean. The real let down were the staff and breakfast. Check in was done by a member of staff who helped, but said it was not his normal job. This was fine as it was only check in. The main issue was breakfast. It was our first time at this hotel and we waited several minutes for a member of staff to arrive and check us in. We ordered our full breakfast which was cooked fresh and was good, but there was literally nothing else. Tables were not cleared or clean. We had to ask for juices and glasses. We also had to ask for tea which never turned up. I had to help myself to cutlery. There was a small bowl of weetabix packets but no other choice and no milk. Very little bread and only a banana skin in the fruit bowl. The staff were reluctant to help and only refilled juices etc when asked. A very disappointing breakfast. Check out was done by asking if we were checking out and taking our keys in the middle of 2 members of staff chatting about their ailments. Management please check in with your staff as there is a definite problem.

Good location, easy to park. Mattress on bed was very thin. Reception staff were helpful. Staff on duty Sunday morning found it a bit to tiresome to keep things like the orange juice, milk and bread topped up. When asked the reply was ‘when I get round to it’. Not the best of customer service, maybe she didn’t sleep well.

Did not arrive until 7pm staff very busy due to them being short staffed. Confusion when booking in as to whether the room was slready occupied. Once sorted went fir food in the pub again organised mess food took for ever some tables had there orders messed up

Reception welcome was great, and we were given 20% off food voucher for restsurant. Room was lovely& clean and bed was comfy. Double glazing wasnt that great as heard traffic as we were at the front but we didnt let it bother us. Tea& coffee facilities in room and the shower was lovely, looked new. Had buffalo chicken wings which were superb, a chicken burger& halloumi burger. All good and hot. Staff very friendly and service was good. Breakfast the next day was also good and hot, the only let down was they kept running out of things eg, juice, butter, plates due to staff shortage but as soon as they could replace, they did so. All in all this will be our regular place to stay when visiting our daughter in uni. There is a Morrisons next door and some lovely bars, including 2 brewery bars all within 10 minute walking distance so very convenient location 🙂

Good value stay and proximity to Bournville Station meant getting into the city for a gig was easy. Comfortable overall although mattresses could be improved. Reasonable breakfast, useful car park, clean room and bathroom. Overall, would stay again but some tweaks would improve good to great: receptionist should greet you even if on phone and if it's an extended call, maybe pause it, or suggest you sit, felt like an imposotion that we had turned up; more lighting required when returning to the rear extrance at night (maybe lights on the steps, in tubs etc); better signage from car park to reception; the rear beer garden could be beautified a bit. However, we had space, it was good value, the old photos were a nice touch. Overall, recommended.

Customer service was excellent. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the names of the staff but the gentleman who checked me in (4/12/22 at around 2:30pm) and lady who checked me out the following morning were very friendly and had a great sense of humour. Would definitely come back. Thanks

We chose The Bournbrook Hotel due to it's proximity to the University of Birmingham, which we needed for a graduation ceremony. The hotel was exceptionally clean, including the corridors, room and bathroom. The pub part is lovely and serves food. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking. The price is exceptional for the accommodation. There was plenty of tea and coffee available near the kettle. What could have been better: The room was cold because no heating was on and so, having arrived in late evening, it took a long time to heat up. I think in winter, the heating in the rooms shoikd at least be left on low if it is known that the room has been allocated. The mattress was a bit saggy and could have benefitted from being turned. That's it. Great accommodation at a great price. We eould definitely use again and recommend.

Perfect location for our overnight stay after visiting Cadbury World - just a 3 minute drive with free parking. We had a triple room with 3 single beds with plenty of room for us all. Room was clean although a couple of the towels had stains on them. Restaurant unfortunately wasn’t serving their regular dinner menu only a limited bbq so we went elsewhere for dinner. Breakfast was lovely and worth the money before checking out. All staff we encountered were nice and polite - would 100% stay here again.

Very reasonably priced, nice staff. The heater takes a very long while to get going, and we would have liked another bin, a larger one, or to have it emptied every day. The only real problem though was a patch of mildew that seemed to be forming by one of the windows, most likely due to the handles to open/close them being utterly inaccessible unless you climb on one of the bedside tables, so there should really be a chair in the room, preferably with a small desk as there is space for it. Would recommend if you're looking for somewhere reasonably priced with very easy and quick access to Edgbaston Stadium, with a slightly longer trip on the bus to Birmingham central.

It was an ideal place to stay for the weekend, when visiting family in Birmingham. The rooms are clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. The opportunity to have breakfast if you wanted to was ideal as it gave me flexibility to choose. The food on the day I had breakfast was well cooked. The pub is on good bus routes into the city centre and I was able to walk easily to Bournville Green. I would definitely return.

The staff were very nice on check in and check out. The waiter looking after breakfast could have been a bit more attentive as the orange and apple juices ran out and there was no butter or plates by the toaster. But everything was tasty when it arrived nice and fresh.

The hotel although basic is clean. The real let down were the staff and breakfast. Check in was done by a member of staff who helped, but said it was not his normal job. This was fine as it was only check in. The main issue was breakfast. It was our first time at this hotel and we waited several minutes for a member of staff to arrive and check us in. We ordered our full breakfast which was cooked fresh and was good, but there was literally nothing else. Tables were not cleared or clean. We had to ask for juices and glasses. We also had to ask for tea which never turned up. I had to help myself to cutlery. There was a small bowl of weetabix packets but no other choice and no milk. Very little bread and only a banana skin in the fruit bowl. The staff were reluctant to help and only refilled juices etc when asked. A very disappointing breakfast. Check out was done by asking if we were checking out and taking our keys in the middle of 2 members of staff chatting about their ailments. Management please check in with your staff as there is a definite problem.

The breakfast as a bit chaotic as it was set up for a buffet. But no food was there so we sat around for a bit before we realised we had to go and order from the bar. The room was nice and warm. And the facilities were very good. Check in was simple and efficient

Stayed one night. Staff was helpful. Property was clean. It was very noisy. It seemed walls were thin so I could hear people across rooms. I could hear doors in the hallway opening thoughout the night. This is something which management can make an effort to fix.
