Residence Inn by Marriott Detroit Farmington Hills

Very nice property, had all the amenties minus a hot tub, the outdoor grill was not working but they had a charcoal one available and a mini gas one to use. The pet area was very small and full of cigarette butts and trash. Lots of construction in the area no fault of the hotel. Absolutely superb customer service. Went on mothers day weekend so pretty busy and noises at night with doors slamming and kids but its a hotel. Overall wonderfull stay, and pet friendly.

Good room size, large smart TV, and sofa. I loved that there was kitchenette in the room which was very convenient. I liked the on property amenities including the 24 hour fitness center, swimming pool and the free breakfast each morning in the lobby. One minor quibble was the room could have done with slightly more cleaning - there was some dusty shelves in the closet / dressing area, and the bathroom had some long strands of hair on the floor at check-in, but otherwise the toilet and shower and sink areas appeared clean. I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel the rooms layout is very functional for a relaxing stay. Pool & gym was outstanding!

The hotel was fine. Unfortunately, the condensation from the air conditioning vents dripped significantly in the breakfast area, which made sitting there uncomfortable. The breakfast was just mediocre.

I gave the rating of 2 because the staff were not very helpful. The pool was not available even though it was supposed to be. Housekeeping don’t make beds or do anything to the rooms for service, they only drop off towels and leave. I asked for an extra skillet and was told one would be bought up to my room after waiting 5 hours I called back down to the desk only to be told that they don’t provide any extra dishes.

The studio was immaculately clean. The bed and bath linens were very nice and the bathroom was fully stocked with personal grooming items . The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices were excellent...many healthy choices. There was lots of lighting in the parking lot which I appreciated as I often came back to the Inn after dark. I would (and did) recommend this facility without reservation.

Could not enjoy the pool. Packed with kids & teens. Disappointing.

Very clean and updated hotel.

Check in the room smelled like urine in the carpet then it was cat or dog hair on the kitchen table and in the carpet chair. After asking for them to come clean again I was told it would be done never happened never try to make it right.

This hotel is my go to when I need to get away for a staycation. I love how clean my rooms are.

The customer service was great!! We were greeted with smiles and really felt at home. The breakfast was great and the young man over breakfast area was very friendly and helpful. He would get a 10! Our stay was wonderful. Now to the disappointments: The shower had some mold along the bottom around the glass. Also, I was disappointed that we had to be split up into two studio rooms instead of the suite I reserved. However, Management did apologize and did their best to accommodate us and place rooms as close as they could. I would definitely stay here again. Just ask for a room on the frontside because you hear the interstate all night long on the backside!!

We had an absolutely amazing day. Everything was wonderful. The hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We had a very nice vacation very quiet.

I must express my deep disappointment with our recent stay at The Residence Inn in Farmington Hills. Our experience was plagued by several issues that significantly impacted our comfort and satisfaction. From the outset, the check-in process, while adequate, was marred by an inattentive clerk, setting a poor tone for our stay. Our assigned room's distant location from the elevator added unnecessary inconvenience to our experience. Most concerning was the room's cleanliness, or lack thereof. We were alarmed to find an abundance of hair in every room and food residue on the bedroom wall, indicating a severe lapse in housekeeping standards. Such oversights are unacceptable in any accommodation, let alone one of your reputed standing. While the suite was spacious, the bed was exceptionally uncomfortable. The excessively firm mattress and flat pillows led to persistent backaches and neck pain each morning, significantly diminishing the quality of our stay. These issues, particularly the cleanliness concerns and physical discomfort, have unfortunately overshadowed any positive aspects of our visit. As a result, we find ourselves unable to recommend your establishment to others, nor will we consider returning for future stays. We sincerely hope this feedback will be taken seriously and used to improve the experience for future guests. A hotel of your caliber should strive for much higher standards in cleanliness, comfort, and overall guest experience.

Beautiful room with good quality bed and furniture.

Really nice rooms, very clean & new stuff, good breakfast. Electric vehicle chargers were the draw for me. Only drawback - my room faced the freeway and it's pretty loud, even late at night. If you're sensitive to noise you might want to ask for a room that doesn't directly face the freeway.

Very Nice Hotels with nice amenities. The room was like an apt separate room Latge bathroom with nice shower. Kitchen with cooking essentials. Will be back in April

Every time I’m in town I stay at this hotel. It’s very clean, the breakfast is good, and the rooms are the perfect size. The kitchen is perfect, the bedding is soft, and the towels are nice.

Stay would have been great except for the surprise that rooms are only cleaned every other day. Completely unacceptable. And, not clear when making a reservation.

All the staff was so nice and welcoming; from the receptionists cheching us in and out, the food workers during breakfast, and the cleaning people. Thank you all so much.

Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Breakfast was below average to average. Housekeeping needs to be requested enthusiastically or it won’t happen until you check out. No recycling bins.

Very horrible experience me and my girlfiend stayed here and got harassed by little boys who they let check in under the age of 21. Followed us to our room and harassed us all night. When we contacted front desk about it they did nothing but say “Boys will be boys “

Hello there, I checked in at 3 PM eastern time. I got to my room and the room did not have towels. I contacted front desk and she said she was going to deliver towels. Waited hour and half and still no towels. I contacted the front desk again and she said they are out of towels and also hang up the phone in my face when I question how come there are no towels left. I am leaving this hotel immediately. I need a full refund on this stay this is ridiculous

It was a great service apartment at a good price. The service was excellent.

Stayed for a week. Staff was professional and friendly.

convenient location to connect to local freeways

Our room vas very clean. Surprised at the amenities, was not expecting a kitchenette with dishes and silverware. @ minor complaints. The coffee packets with coffee for the coffeemaker did not have sweeteners or creamers in them, so get some from the complementary area downstairs if your basket doesn't have any. Also, ask for a room opposite the highway if you don't like noise. The windows aren't very soundproof. It didn't bother us, so YMMV.

Unfortunately, we had to stay at a hotel because of the major storm we had here in Michigan. Power outages, huge downed trees everywhere and live wires in our backyard. So this wasn’t a vacation. But this hotel gave us the comfort of home. It was cozy and clean and had the necessities we needed. It was in a good location for us to grab food or grab groceries if we wanted to cook. The staff were amazing! They were polite, professional and made sure we had everything we needed. If we ever have to leave our home because of another storm, we’ll definitely be staying here.

I liked this hotel, a great location for me. I was visiting family in Farmington Hills and this was an excellent location. Staff was very helpful and this hotel was beautiful.

New building 9 feet ceiling very good breakfast

Every time I come to town I stay at the residence Inn. The property is nice. The breakfast is great. The hotel is clean and has a feeling of Home.

The manger Chelsea was very rude. She continued to stepped away from the desk area to breaks. She came back smelling like smoke. She seemed as if she really didn’t want to be there . Property didn’t have any breakfast available an hour in a half before breakfast should have ended. The expected better from this location. Manager at this the Farmington hills property was just unprofessional.

Our room was clean & comfy, but we requested servicing for our room which we didn't get until Tuesday (after asking again on Monday. We checked in on Friday, finally got service Tuesday.) We ran out of towels & toilet paper. The hallways had the same little bits of trash, paper, & even a dime from when we checked in Friday until Tuesday when it was finally cleaned. We love staying at Marriott properties, but this one fell a little short in the housekeeping department. Aside from that, the employees were wonderful! Our room was great, breakfast was good.

I did not like the breakfast. pre-prepared sandwich type items, not scrambled eggs. Had to ask to get the breakfast meat replenished. If I want egg-mcMuffin type stuff, I'll go to McDonalds

Bad smell inside the room and in the floor. They advertise the breakfast which I hated.
