Thunderbird Motel

No pool and no outside gathering areas, just a motel...

The beds were fine. Parking was convenient. There were some flies and other small bugs in the room which bothered the kids. The bathroom was missing a towel rack (it had a broken one). The room was equipped with a mini fridge and microwave and small stove which was convenient. This was fine for a short stay and convenient location.

everything was clean, and quiet. The only drawback was the parking. We went out in the car and when we returned there was no parking, but the manager helped us with this car situation

I don’t understand all the bad reviews, so I bumped them up from a 4 to a 5, to hopeful help that. I don’t know what people are expecting. This is the Jersey Shore and this is a typical Jersey shore motel. It might lack the amenities of other motels in the area, but it has ample parking and is clean. Which in my experience can be tough to find down there. Also the staff was very friendly and even helped me book another night over the phone on a Sunday night during 4th of July weekend. Keep on keepin on thunderbird !!!

This is an older hotel with a basic room. We had a one night stay. The bed has bed bug covers on and the sheets were clean. Bed was comfortable. AC worked well.

Great place to stay, close to beach and boardwalk. Room had two dearooms and living room with tv. Fridge etc. All clean and loads of towels which was really nice with family. Lots of places to eat nearby. Parking was good . Basic but everything needed for a really great stay.

We felt that Thunderbird was ok for a 1-2 night stay. The location was very nice being 2-1/2 blocks away from the boardwalk. Parking was convenient. The bed was not comfortable and no chair to sit in. Shower worked nicely. Would stay here again mostly for location only....and ONLY for a night or two. Thank you.

Property was old, but very clean. No frills, no pool, no ice, just a place to sleep. For that it was fine.

Simple, clean, quiet, but not charming. The balcony looks over the road and there's quite a lot of construction going on. The area is a little ugly, but not unexpectedly so. Our suite was spotless, and the AC worked like a charm. The Having a fridge and mini-kitchen was great, but be prepared that there are no supplies: no cups, for example. Customer service was excellent; when there were no parking spots available, a staff member called me back immediately to figure out what to do.

The hotel was very accomodating and the woman running the hotel was wonderful. The hotel is a bit dated but clean. You're getting a short walk to the beach and boardwalk for a good price. There's no pool but I came for the beach.

Stale cigarette smoke smell. Needed to open windows for fresh air. Shower was built for an airplane. No staff available after 7pm until the next day. Beds were old and hard coils. Unpleasant stay.

Check-in was quick and easy. The guy who owned the property was very kind and friendly and said our room was ready early. The property was very close to the boardwalk. Those are the only good things. The actual property itself looked very rundown and sketchy. There were guys on the balcony staring at my friend and I as we were walking up the stairs and another guy sitting by our door. My friend and I walked into the room which at first looked alright. However, when we looked at the bed, we saw that there were a bunch of white stains and other stuff all over the comforter which freaked us out. We noticed a slight smell and so we checked out the bathroom which had its door shut. As soon as we opened the door, my friend and I gagged. It smelled like something was rotting in there. There may have even been black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Immediately we shut the door. The bathroom was not usable. We used the boardwalk bathroom instead. We were so freaked out, we checked for bed bugs by lifting the mattress. Thank god there were none but we took off that comforter right away. Next time I visit seaside heights, I will definitely be looking for a way better place to stay. May even be worth it to get a hotel room over the bridge and just pay for an uber.

Room had black mold in bathroom and no towel rack and no cups. No hangers in the closet. I would not stay at this motel again.

Check in was wonderful, the front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful. In the room, you could tell that some attempts had been made towards cleanliness and comfort (ie, clean sheets and nicely arranged clean towels). Those are the only positive things about our stay, however, as it was the proverbial lipstick on a pig. The room was so dark and dank - I was concerned about breathing the air all night. The unbearable hum from all of the equipment trying to dry out and cool the room was enough to drive you nuts. When we got back from the boardwalk that evening, the cutest trio of young raccoons was trying to get in the kitchenette window that overlooked the alley between this and the next building. If we were planning on staying more than one night I would have found another place to go.

Older property but they keep it clean. Easy access to the beach.

The studio suites are big, with a separate bedroom, and an open area with a couch, TV and kitchenette with oven and microwave, as well as a bathroom with tub. The rooms are quite clean and staff responds quickly to concerns.

The property is very clean and has nice appliances. Was pleasantly surprised!

Staff was very kind. Motel was kind of dirty. Cigarette butts sitting in an ashtray next to our room, mold on the side of the tub, sticky rugs, just dirty in general.

Staff was absolutely accommodating for anything we needed and it was clean!

This room was so dirty had stained carpet and walls were so dirty and bathroom was gross and when we checked in the fridge still had stuff inside so that tells me the room was not cleaned.The window would not lock and the door was easy to break in. I would never stay here again and if I was able to find a new place I would have. I can’t understand how they even have a 1 star

The only good thing is that was walking distance from the beach. The room conditions were poor, it has a humid smell, towels and blankets smells the same. Didn’t have a chair, or a table to sit or put your things. Bathroom was very small.

I thought tge staff was attentive. Tge shower had almost no pressure and was useless. The water from the air-conditioning on tge floor above would leak into the doorway of the entrance to the room....and it was a icky feeling. The kids upstairs had a rager. I had to call the staff at midnight. Although the very nice and accommodating person did call the room, the kids picked up their rave shortly after that. They did try to stop them and i didnt feel like calling again. Fix the shower!! It was useless.

For Seaside Heights, this was a very good hotel. Room was clean, had carpet, king size bed, bathroom worked, had plenty of hot water, new molded plastic shower stall. Bathroom door would not close (needs trimming). Unfortunately the AC unit is a nightmare!! It was like having a jet engine in your room- insanely loud. We slept about 2 hours. What a shame when everything else was pretty good .

This was supposed to be a “deluxe suite”. It had 2 bedrooms, the mattresses were flimsy and very springy. The bathroom is a fat person’s nightmare. I’ve never seen a smaller shower in my life. The bathroom is very tiny, the toilet seat squeaked every time we opened or closed it. The air conditioner was so loud. The TV was hard to operate. But there was a normal size refrigerator and a large kitchen sink!! WHY? No stove, so I don’t see the necessity, only a microwave. The staff we encountered when we arrived couldn’t be nicer, and the boardwalk was a couple of minutes walk away, that’s the only plus. But when we tried to ask for more towels and check out, no one in sight. 24/7 service, my ass. I had to leave the key in a drop box.

It's ok, 3 blocks from boardwalk, room was clean, has kitchenette but you need to supply your own utensils. Np hair dryer, we stayed in room 1 ground floor,mattress needs to be replaced. Sagged in the middle and springs would move .

Bed really hard we could feel metal springs, not much sleep. Air-conditioning loud and rumbling especially compresser. Other than these clean nice management.

The property needs some updating. Most of the doors did not close properly. There was only air conditioning in the one bedroom. There were no dressers or end tables. The refrigerator worked fine and the one air conditioner worked well. The shower was newer but the bathroom itself was dated.

The room was clean and the check in was quick. The AC worked pretty well and the staff was friendly. I guess you get what you pay for. The beds were flimsy and not very comfortable, the room did not have a working cable box. The bathroom was extremely small to where the space between the toilet and the bathtub was super tight. I guess for a 1 night is ok but I would not stay here again.

I was truly and pleasantly surprised at how much I liked our stay. I had initially booked a suite and when I saw that there was not a separate room for privacy I inquired about changing to the two-bedroom if one was available. The manager or owner (not sure his role) immediately showed me an open 2 bedroom and helped me move over. I had already checked in and offered to pay the difference but he said it was fine and they just want happy customers. It's a small property but the rooms are big and very clean. It is 2 blocks to the beach/pier and very safe and pleasant. I had never stayed there before but was pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with our stay :)

Perfect for our needs. Hotel is close to the boardwalk but far enough that it’s quiet at night. Simple furniture but had everything we needed. The best part was that the owners are amazing. Super friendly at check in, which is by itself a huge plus, but it gets better! We left a precious item behind and she mailed it right to us the next day - wow what excellent hosts!! Highly recommend and would stay again.

Amazing stay! Staff super friendly, very close to boardwalk, clean and spacious room, felt very safe, bed bug covers, microwave, fridge, etc. Owner let us park there when we got there at 10am even though we couldn’t check in until 3pm. Our one night here was great and we will definitely be back!

The property was very clean and the area was very convenient but the customer service from one of the gentleman(I believe his name is David) was extremely horrible. He’s very rude and hostile for no apparent reason! I got my room through Expedia and when I got there I was giving a different room. When I brought it up to the man he was very rude and kept telling me I paid for a cheap room meanwhile he was bringing me to the room I actually paid for. So if that was the case why would you bring me to my correct room after I mentioned something to you. I was very polite the entire time until he continued to be loud and nasty after a few minutes. He than said I’m not going argue with you I said sir you are very rude for no reason Idk you and you don’t know me so what’s the issue. The women I spoke to on the phone was very sweet and professional but this man he needs to be trained on customer service!!

We were missing the microwave plate and they immediately changed the whole microwave. The staff were extremely kind and regularly asked us if we were having issues and how we were doing in the town. Absolutely loved staying there and plan to stay there again.

Staff was absolutely accommodating for anything we needed and it was clean!

My Son ended up going to the property and unfortunately was very disappointed about no one being available at check in, the unopened room, security concerns , the cleanliness of the room, the smell of cigarettes in the room. He dropped off the key and is not staying tonight or tomorrow night. I think a refund should be in order ultimately from your property. I took a chance as it said 8 out of 10 reviews through Expedia and it didn’t work out.

Very happy with this motel and location. It’s a motel! Don’t expect 5star but as far as everything we needed it was great. Friendly staff, parking on premise, rooms perfectly sized for our family. I’ll definitely consider this place first next time we visit Seaside Heights.

Staff was super helpful and nice, our room was clean and the location was great. 5 minute walk to the boardwalk and beach.

I have stayed here many times only for a night while visiting the shore. If you're looking for a place to shower/sleep at the end of your day at the beach, then this is a great place for the price if you plan on spending time inside the hotel rooms then look elsewhere. It's conveniently located close to the beach and boardwalk.

I stayed here this past weekend. I really enjoyed the stay. The room was clean. The staff is super friendly. Parking was easy. The best part is the location. Would stay here again.

A block from the beach, quiet and the owners are WONDERFUL!!! They are so accommodating and nice it’s unbelievable. I would definitely stay here again. The one down side is the bed isn’t the coziest but totally worth it.

No hot water. Pretty gross inside to be honest. The only good thing was the proximity to the boardwalk.

Well. I don’t usually write reviews but I thought I’d better write one for this Motel. First of all it was clean and in a convenient location. It was a kitchenette without anything to cook with. Not even cups or silverware. No windows whatsoever. No balcony like the description said. There wasn’t a blanket on the bed at all. Luckily I brought a comforter and pillows. We had to use the trash can as a nightstand. We made the best of it. But I would definitely not stay there for more than two nights.

Rental came with a kitchen, but no pots, pans, dishes, silverware and or glasses.

Great place to stay! Very friendly staff! Me and my daughter stayed in a room with a kitchen and we loved it! We will DEFINATELY stay here again on our future trips back to Jersey!

This is a very old motel. The property is a little run down. Wasn't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! We had a queen suite studio room. It was all newly updated with a sitting area, kitchen, bathroom and separate bedroom. Immaculately clean! We were on the ground floor and were able to park right outside our door. The kitchen does not have anything in it. If you're planning on making some meals, bring your own pots and pans and anything else you would need. We saved a ton of money being able to cook our breakfast every day. It was relatively quiet, and within walking distance to the beach, boardwalk and many restaurants. Price was very reasonable for a shore room. It was perfect for my husband and me. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it for a lower budget vacation.

We had a comfortable stay. The rooms were clean, the shower pressure was good, the water was hot, and the beds were comfortable. Linen, soap and shampoo were provided, but I recommend bringing hairdryer, moisturizer etc. with you. The room we were in had a microwave, and medium sized fridge, larger than the regular hotel mini-fridge. There was also a gas range, but no utensils. If you're booking the junior suite, and plan on cooking, bring utensils with you. However, there are plenty of places nearby to eat, and that's what we did. Quiet place, not too far from the boardwalk, wouldn't mind staying there again.

Great location! You can walk everywhere! Hooks restaurant and bar isnjust around the corner as well ! The manager and the owners son were extremely quick to reapond to any issues ! The 2 bedrooms were excellent
