Nice hotel - friendly staff. Asked for washclothes in room - promised but not delivered. Bar/restaurant was closed a couple of nights for private events. The room was ready when we got there early in the morning which was great! Very nice -

Room was excellent, very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Good location and wonderfully designed hotel. The only downside was that the restaurant and bar were rented out to outside parties while we were there which didn't allow us to use it. This is part of why we booked the hotel so we were disappointed that they didn't still provide service to the hotel guests, who paid a lot to be there. It seems like there is a way to host private events while not reducing your service to hotel guests.

Saq checked us in. It was our anniversary and he went out of his way to make us feel really special. Had a couple of cocktails at the hotel bar and the service there was great too. The room was really clean and lovely.

we were on 7 th floor …. terrible smell for three days asked to fix it, they did offer to move us but the other room had no windows…. odd. big rooms , great staff , quiet location, cool hotel , great breakfast, small gym…. the smell ruined a great review.

The hotel is conveniently located. 5 min walk to Covent Garden and not far from the tube. The rooms are comfortable. Service in the bar is very slow, the same as it was last time I visited. That time I put it down to it being new and staff finding their feet. I found the staff friendly throughout the hotel.

All in all, the hotel is definitely good and you can have a pleasant stay here. However, a few things bothered me considering it's a 5-star hotel. Room: There's no hairdryer in the bathroom, nor is there a toilet brush. It's dusty in some areas of the room and the bathroom has a bit of mold on the tile joints. The air conditioning worked but probably needs maintenance, as it sometimes had to be set to 18°C to cool the room. Breakfast: Overall, it was good. However, I received the wrong omelet once. The breakfast routine seems to be very confusing for the staff. Deliveries to the wrong table are normal. Coffee didn't arrive until the food was already at the table (it took almost 15 minutes for a cup of coffee). These are minor things, but I expect more from a 5-star hotel. But It's still delicious. Location: There's nothing to complain about here. The location is perfect, right in the heart of London. A 5-minute walk to Covent Garden, a 10-minute walk to Piccadilly Circus, a few minutes from the London Eye, and two Underground stations are just a few minutes' walk away. All in all, this hotel is good, but not at the level of a 5-star hotel. Nevertheless, it gets 4 stars here from me because these are minor issues, and there are many things that speak in favor of this hotel if some improvements are made.

Great central location, amicable and helpful staff, beautiful and cozy rooms but problems with mouldy smell in our room - treatment of the sink’s and shower’s drainage systems did not help. It was likely the ventilation. We were moved to an upgraded room when we notified the staff but, from a quality control perspective, this should not happen.

The room was tired and we was told we had an upgraded room with a walk in shower. In reality it was a disabled room. It was hard using the sink, as we are both tall people and with no where to store anything it was disappointing. The room itself was tired and stale, with no air conditioning and this made it hard to sleep. The communal spaces, also had a stale smell.

Great hotel - staff were super friendly. Only issue I had was that i couldn't turn the air con off in my room - i turned it off but it stayed on! Thankfully temperature was ok so wasn't an issue. Based on location and staff I would happily stay here again.

Hotel is conveniently located for both walking + travel via underground. It’s clean, modern, and comfortable. Windows open to allow for fresh cool air. Light switches in room are plentiful + all digital: it took quite a while to figure out what button affects what, and in process I apparently pressed a request not to have the room serviced. New guests could use some kind of instruction guide.

I stayed here with VIP access although I’m not sure what element was VIP, The hotel is quiet and in a good location and very impressive down in the main foyer and bar. The check in was good as we were early and so we dropped our bags before heading out. Unfortunately, the room was a letdown. Our aircon didn’t work and, despite a member of the facilities team coming to fix it it - it still didn’t work and we had to have a stand up fan in the room overnight to make it bearable. The mini bar also didn’t have any refreshments in on arrival which we had to ask for, even though there was a note saying the first round was on the hotel (which I assume was the VIP part) so a small coke, lemonade and bottle of water was brought up. I was surprised not to have any alcoholic beverages in a mini bar for such a large hotel.

Lovely Hotel staff really nice and helpful and is a prime location in London. The only disappointment was are room was by the lift and when it was used it was like hearing someone dragging a chair across a wooden floor

I've stayed in London a lot over the years and this was the best bedroom I've ever stayed in, really dark and totally silent with a comfy bed. Everything about the room was really good. I didn't have breakfast but did eat there once and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff were great too so I will definitely be returning in the future.

Very comfortable bed and great location. Everything in room was controlled with room key card, which was a pain at times (we just wanted to switch one light on and had to go through the menu a dozen times). View from room was poor for the price (back of another building along with large boiler/generator). Yet, I would stay there again because our room was comfortable and quiet, and the staff were excellent.

From pulling up outside the service was outstanding. The doorman opened the taxi door, helped me with my case and delivered me to the reception, where I was offered prosecco whilst checking in. Throughout my stay service from all members of staff I came into contact with was excellent. The room was spacious and very stylish. Food was delicious. This is my hotel of choice whilst in London and this stay was exceptional as normal.

We had a very bad stay and experience at Middle Eight. - First night we had to change room in the evening because of horrendous smell of weed in the room coming in from an other room (with a so-called VIP guest) - Second night the air conditioning was not working in our room and it turned into a 30 degree sauna. Had to change again - What stood out the most actually was the bad service throughout: 1. On every issue we were met with untrue or evasive answers 2. After the second night change we complained that with this kind of service we are unwilling to pay and got a bs offer of 20% discount one night. Unfortunately had to really argue but finally to their credit that night became complimentary. 3. Breakfast is advertised as having gluten-free options. On all three mornings they were out of GF toast… on the last morning they offered to go to local sainsbury to buy it. What a turn off No never again this hotel for us. Wannabe 5 star place lacking very much on service level in their staff

The hotel is gorgeous as are the rooms and lobby downstairs unfortunately tho where the hotel let me down was the housekeeping staff. My partner and I were walked in on at 10am on the day we were due to check out. I was indecent and the housekeeper never knocked prior to entering the room she just used her key and entered while we were in bed. I suffer with anxiety and PTSD so he had to explain to the housekeeper she should not just barge in but make her presence known first with a knock. We asked before hand for no housekeeping until we check out at 12 because we were travelling on the day of check out. I’m embarrassed and very disappointed. It ruined my stay right at the end.

This hotel is clean and modern and feels very new. The rooms are great for sleeping, very dark and very quiet and the AC works great on a hot summer day. The beds were very comfy and we loved the couch and desk setup in our room. The light switches are very high tech, a bit confusing for me (and my tech savvy teenager), especially the housekeeping light. I think they need old-school do not disturb/service please hang tags. One day I had my service housekeeping light on for hours but they didn’t come, and the next day we were sleeping (9am) and housekeeping knocked lightly then opened the door and came in while we were asleep. Don’t get me wrong, housekeeping did a very good job cleaning and they were very nice and polite, but a simple door tag would have been a big help. The toiletries were very nice and we appreciated the complimentary big bottles of water and other mini bar items. PS great restaurants nearby. We loved the nearby Japanese restaurant Akatuki, and we also enjoyed the Vietnamese Viet Eat, the Turkish Pide & Co, the Japanese matcha Yumtea, and the sourdough pizza shop Franco Manca

They have two few staff who are not trained well enough to cater to customers requests or help them to check in quickly or check out quickly or deliver a bottle of wine either opened or with a corkscrew to open it or the showerhead didn’t work

My daughter Clara and I we’re positively impressed by our stay at the Middle Eight Hotel . From our check in to check out everything was tip top : helpful and friendly staff ( shout out to Saq from the front desk team ) , comfy and modern room , great location . Also such a good value . We will come back for sure . Wishing my best compliments to all the hotel team .

Hotel is convenient for many of the attractions in London and there are plenty of good places to eat (and drink) close at hand. Unfortunately, the check in was painfully slow and some of the services were not as good as on previous stays. We like the hotel but at its price we may have to rethink another visit.

Location is great with Holborn underground just around the corner, trafficked by the Piccadilly line which goes all the way to Heathrow. Just a short walk to Seven dials and Covent Garden with so many great pubs, restaurants and shops. While checking in we were treated with a glass of prosecco. The room, on the 6th floor, was nicely decorated and had smart features like fully controllable lights from the bedside, USB-charging ports to complement regular outlets and the mini-bar content was included in the room. The AC was always on but temperature was adjustable from the bedside. Overall a great place to stay and I really enjoyed our time here.

I took my daughter to London for five days as a college graduation present. Middle Eight was an incredible place to stay. The staff is super helpful, the room was extremely comfortable and the location can't be beat. It's near everything, the National Gallery, theaters(we went every night), St. Paul's church, the Thames. We were able to walk so many places. We will stay there again next time we're in the city.

Beautiful hotel with a great location. Unfortunately they were horribly understaffed at breakfast and forgot about our room service order. We visited the restaurant instead thinking this would improve the situation but the poor lady running service was run off her feet. Very average breakfast after the wait.

Great Location Lovely Warm Welcome Up to date interior Room Comfort, Perfect. Restaurant - very accommodating and we could tell the staff loved what they do. Breakfast was a little confusing as we got shown to a seat and left with no idea that we could help ourselves to the yogurts and fruit. Breakfast order was taken eventually so this is the only are i think the hotel could improve.

We had a good stay but this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Breakfast service was poor, missing plates and cutlery, the ordered food was not served together and the presentation was poor. This was not helped by the restaurant manger doing nothing but walking backwards and forwards in an attempt to appear busy. Reception was under-staffed and there were significant delays in retrieving stored luggage. Not good enough at this price point!

Beautifully designed room (the cosy pad is very comfortable for one...would be fine for two except there isn't much drawer/closet space) with an amazing amount of natural light and top notch customer service. Everything was perfect except for breakfast room service. I pre-ordered three times and each arrived right on schedule, but the food, though good (if not a bit overpriced for the quality), was lukewarm at best. Room service in the evening was fine though.

The hotel was lovely, clean spacious room with everything you need in really food condition. Reception service was great. Location also great, just down the road from Covent garden. Up until breakfast you couldnt fault the hotel at all. But breakfast couldnt really have been much worse. No fruit, hardly any juice, no toaster. In fact nothing. We had to wait a good 10 minutes to be served and then another 20 minutes wait for the cooked breakfast to arrive which was great but the toast was missing and our coffee didnt arrive at all despite chasing. Not enough staff so management at fault. Get a toaster and provide more sides and you would have got 5 stars.

Everything exceptional except the breakfast. Little to choose from and very slow at peak times because Everton had to cooked in the kitchen. Not good for business travel. I unfortunately had some poched eggs and bevare ill for a day - but this did happen only once and is probably an unfortunate mishap. Very large rooms! We enjpyed it and solid consider returnere.
