London trip for my daughter's 18th birthday. Great access from waterloo station and a short hop to theatres. Friendly staff, quirky decor, delicious breakfast choices. We ended up being able to check in early (we had wanted to just dump out suitcases) before heading to our matinée. Galley style beverage area and terraces to people watch from were great.

We love this hotel. Rooms are bright and the balconies in the loft rooms perfect for sitting outside and watching life go by on the street below. The area is lovely with food trucks outside during the week. It's very much based around being left to yourself, but personally we much prefer automatic check in and getting a free cocktail rather than a bit of room servicing.

Local street market, close to underground, diverse restaurants around, 24-7 bar, kind staffs

Coffee station at end of hall with access to small courtyard. Ironing board set up there as well. Nice bar. Modern vibe.

Perfect spot in a a good location. Very simple and fast check in. Room was spotless. Coffee and bare essentials all available from a central location on the first floor. Very good location to access Waterloo and surrounding area. Nice little buzz on the street with plenty of little bars (including the hotel bar which is great) and coffee shops. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Having the sink in the room itself wasn’t an ideal but it means the room space is well utilised and makes the room feel larger and as a solo traveler this wasn’t a problem. Would definitely stay here again and recommend. A great base to explore London from.

Highly recommended. Upgraded to a larger room than the one I booked , room very good , friendly helpful staff , good facilities , loved the help yourself tea / hot beverage bars on each floor , nice general bar space- feels boutiquey even though this is a chain . Will stay here again .

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The room was spotless, clean and beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and modern amenities. The location was perfect — close to local attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. We especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to relax after a busy day.

Room was clean, tidy and well looked after. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment.

Modern, clean, and beautifully presented throughout with an artisan feel, this hotel really wowed me. A quiet (I.e. pedestrian street no traffic noise) location but by no means sleepy. There were multiple independent bars and restaurants nearby and a thriving food / other market on the doorstep. Also close to the South Bank for many attractions. My room was well appointed, clean, modern, lovely bed and shower, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They even swiftly helped me to locate and return to me a lost item - so rare to get this level of service. Food menu looked tasty, but didn’t try it. For context, this hotel was the same price as a travelodge on the night of stay. It’s a no-brainer to stay here and I’d highly recommend it to friends and family. Thank you Ruby Lucy!

This is a gem of a hotel situated right on Lower Marsh. There are excellent dining options right outside the front door and the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from Waterloo. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and I highly enjoyed my stay.

Yes it was spotless.The staff on arrival were also very helpful.The breakfast was excellent and very fresh and looks very nice.The bar was a great atmosphere and just right for an after dinner drink to meet people.

Nice and clean hotel, relaxing stay and ideal location

Very unique property. Accommodations appear updated and new, but very limited space for personal clothing, toiletries and possessions. We had a lovely porch/balcony overlooking the street below, but cheap plastic chairs and the tiniest table to place a drink. The room looked spotless upon arrival, but we spilled several drops of water on the floor near the bed and the towel used to mop it up came away filthy. Lots of restaurants nearby, Westminster Bridge an easy walk.

Lovely first stay. Unique and quirky rooms, not for everyone. Toilet and Shower is in the room, glass walls, there is a curtain - but it might be uncomfortable for friends sharing a room. Sink is in the room, which is fine, but it does splash and drip on to the floor as the edge isn't wide enough to hold a towel, and the towel rail sits under the sink, so was a little slippy. Great, clean and easy option if you're near Waterloo and commuting.

I really enjoyed staying at Ruby Lucy. The hotel is in an incredible location - you're steps away from Waterloo station, lots of eateries, Southbank, and several theatres. I found the bed to be the comfiest I think I've ever experienced - the mattress and pillows felt like they were made for me, but I do love a firm pillow. I didn't have a view (the windows were frosted) because it would've looked out onto the rear end of Waterloo station which I suppose isn't that pretty. However, you do get a cracking view of Elephant & Castle from the 4th floor galley. The hotel is known for having live music throughout the week (plus a 24/7 bar), but I heard absolutely nothing from my perfectly soundproofed room. The Ruby branded toiletry products throughout the room smelled absolutely divine, especially the two shower gels and hand wash. The staff who I talked to briefly at the bar were utterly lovely and very welcoming. It was the perfect hub for my short but sweet solo trip.

Very clean hotel with nice warm welcoming staff. Two issues, our room was far too hot and stuffy, we had turned the heating off early but it made no difference as we had no windows to open. Just solid glass was all we had, so we had a very uncomfortable night without much sleep. Second issue was the buffet breakfast! It should read continental so don’t be fooled. We both came down looking forward to egg and bacon etc…. What we was actually offered was luke warm ham and a few other small offerings including antipasto and pastries but not much else (not exactly the breakfast of champions) So disappointing as we both do not like continental so wasted a payment for breakfast that we didn’t have, and had to go elsewhere for. Based on this we would not stay again but we did like the place. Clearer descriptions really would help as we may not have left very tired and very hungry. A disappointing end to a lovely break.

My 1st time staying at the hotel. I chose it for proximity to Waterloo Station. It was tricky to find (London cabbie had no idea where Lower Marsh Street was!) however, it is a 3 min walk out the back door of Waterloo Station, has great pubs/restaurants on the block, and is within walking distance of the Old Vic and the National Theatre. The staff are lovely and the cleaning ladies did a great job (please leave them big tips!) My room was on the 4th floor and the 'common area' as you step off the elevator which has tea and powdered coffee facilities (great selection of teas) and an iron/ironing board. The room was tiny even by London standards. The king bed was super comfy and the linens were luxurious. I appreciated the blackout curtains. However, if you were staying with a friend/family member the glass shower had a curtain on one side, but you would be fully on display while showering (just like a stripper!) The closet was ample for my short (5 night) stay, however, there were no drawers so I was living out of my suitcase. Also, the only place to sit is the bed or a tiny wooden stool. The closet safe was large enough for a small laptop. The hotel offers free - unsecured - wifi. I enjoyed my stay and its location and the lovely staff were great. The neighbourhood is very colourful and there are street food vendors during some weekdays and lots of spots to have a drink/food.

A fun quirky hotel with lovely staff and a super comfy bed! We stayed in a wow room which had loads of space and a great shower space.

The room was neat and tidy and the decor was pleasant. However, the bathroom setting was only good for solo traveller as the shower unit was completely exposed - one could watch TV while showering - and the washbasin and well-lit mirror were outside the bathroom. The key issue was that around 2 am, the bathroom light suddenly turned on by itself and I couldn’t turn it off and couldn’t phone for assistance which I tried a few times, so a sleepless night. The bar was a pleasant place but only offers a very limited menu so not a place where you could come for dinner.

We stayed at this property for 4 days in December 2024. While the location was great and the property itself is very nice, there were a few issues that significantly impacted our experience. First and foremost, we were without Wi-Fi in our room for the entire 4-night stay. While I understand occasional technical issues can occur, it was frustrating that this was not resolved during our time there. When we checked in, the maintenance staff arrived to address the Wi-Fi issue, which he said was a recurring problem from the previous tenants. After notifying the front desk that the WIFI was still not working on the day of check in, we were told various things, including that it had been fixed or that they were aware of the problem but there was nothing that could be done at that time or for the rest of our time there it turned out. It felt like our concerns were not taken seriously, and the responses we received seemed repetitive and impersonal. We were also informed that they could not move us to another room due to the property being fully booked, which added to the frustration. It's unfortunate that, this issue wasn’t resolved during our stay. Additionally, I was surprised by the layout of the property. To access our room, we had to walk through a bar area, which felt a bit strange. There is no front desk area.The bar staff, didn’t seem to engage with us in a welcoming way. A simple greeting or acknowledgement could have gone a long way to further the enjoyment of a holiday.

Nice room (loft) on fourth floor with big outdoor terrace. Really lovely staff, always smiling and with a welcoming hello every time we encountered them - a proper asset to this business as so many hotel reception staff are often without character. If I was to criticise anything, I would say the shower/toilet combo with glass walls are not to my taste - just a personal choice.

This hotel is no frills but feels better than very basic accommodation in that the decor is to a good standard. The hands off approach means you aren’t given much info about breakfast etc. The main issue is that, from inside your room, you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you and in the corridor. Doesn’t make for a restful night.

One of those rooms where the toilet and shower is basically open to the room. Whilst the toilet does has some obscured glass, there's still cracks where the door opens and it's still somewhat disconcerting to use whilst your partner is sitting on the bed facing you on the loo, and is less than romantic. Maybe me being prudish, but would it really have been so hard to put a proper wall/door in given the price of the room?

I can really recommend this lovely hotel, very near Waterloo station. The fantastic and professional ladies in the reception - Chiara and Jessica - was really helpful.

Our stay at Ruby Lucy was overshadowed by the unfortunate comments made by its staff. With outright rude comments and smug remarks during conversations we can sense a biased anger that they did not like that we were American. To finalize my thought, if you are American and just need a place to rest, this is a clean place to stay but I’d suggest to look elsewhere if you want to feel welcomed.

As you will read, the reviews of this hotel are wonderful and I will say that they are all true. The hotel is clean, safe, great walking distance to everything and has a very welcoming vibe to it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Although I had an issue during my stay, the reaction from the management team honestly outweighed the otherwise negative experience. It is one thing to say you take great pride in service and guest experiences, but it’s another to truly live it and I do see that this is extremely important to Ruby Lucy management.

I had a fabulous one night stay. The location of the hotel makes it the perfect choice if you are going to a gig at the Southbank Centre or seeing a play at the Old Vic. There are loads of places to eat nearby. I worked from the hotel lounge during the day and there's a great deli across the street (Greensmiths). The reception team gave me such a warm welcome and their vibe throughout my stay was friendly and engaging. My room was super lovely (106) and bigger than I was expecting for the type I booked. My room was lovely and clean and the bed was really comfy. The shower was great and I loved the 2 types of shower gel available. Despite there being a lively bar vibe on the ground floor, I had a peaceful night's sleep. I will definitely stay here again!

I initially had a good experience, but my stay was marred by a series of unacceptable incidents. On both mornings, housekeeping knocked on my door at 8 AM, despite the Do Not Disturb sign being clearly displayed. On the first day, they even opened the door without waiting for a response. How outrageous and completely inappropriate is this? Additionally, I decided to extend my stay by one extra day and spoke to the receptionist to confirm the payment. She assured me there was nothing more to settle. However, the following morning, I was abruptly woken up by a loud knock at the door, as if it were an emergency. When I opened it, staff claimed I hadn’t paid and insisted I go downstairs immediately to settle the bill. To make matters worse, they even implied that “other guests have left without paying,” which was both disrespectful and insulting. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect for guests is completely unacceptable!

Ruby Lucy hotel in London, the check-in service was terrific. Piotr made the process smooth and thorough. The attention and dedication in explaining the nearby points. I was fascinated with the room, very clean and aesthetic.

The staff is absolutely lovely. I arrived 6 hrs before checkin and they held my bags and recommended a breakfast restaurant and let me check in 2hrs early. The room was quite and clean. I had been up for 24hrs and needed to sleep. I slept very well after a very relaxing shower. The room was larger than other London hotels I’ve stayed in. Absolutely recommend this hotel, the lovely staff and the convenient location.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic hotel, and I must say, its location is truly superb. Situated in close proximity to Waterloo station, the convenience of commuting was awesome! The London Eye is right around the corner as well. What truly sets this hotel apart is its strategic placement within an hour's walking distance to most major attractions. Exploring the city became a delightful journey, with landmarks and cultural treasures easily accessible on foot. While the hotel isn't right next to major shopping hubs, the nearby train station made retail therapy a breeze. The seamless connectivity allowed us to indulge in shopping sprees without any hassle. One minor suggestion for improvement would be the inclusion of a mini fridge in the room. Given the expensive dining options in the area, having the convenience to store our own food would have been a welcomed amenity. Nevertheless, this small detail did not overshadow the overall exceptional experience. In summary, this hotel's great location, proximity to key landmarks, and ease of transportation make it a top-notch choice for anyone exploring London's wonders.

I'd never stayed near Waterloo before. The hotel is well located right near the tube, and is easy walking to the Thames and places like Tate Modern & Borough Market. Hotel staff was warm and lovely -- even got me checked in early so I could dress for a wedding. Room was fresh & efficient. Morning coffee at the bar was great. Neighborhood was interesting & has lots of eating opportunities around it.

Located on a quiet pedestrian street. Next to Waterloo Station with its three underground lines and its trains to Windsor Castle. Easy walking distance to London Eye, Parliament, and Westminster Abbey.

Cool boutique hotel in a great location just 5 minutes from Waterloo Station, 10 from Westminster and Millennium Bridge and Big Ben. Its also located on Lower Marsh Street with lots of eating options. On the weekdays there are food vendors outside that offer a variety of delicious options for a very affordable price. The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable. Although its in a busy area the room was quiet and I slept well every night. I would stay here again.

Great location just 4 min walk from Waterloo. Friendly staff manning the reception/bar. Bar area relaxed. Lovely coffee shops nearby. Unusual room layout with shower glass onto room. Tea/coffee facilities all in a shared area per floor which is very eco friendly but does mean leaving the room for your morning tea!

Ruby Lucy hotel on Lower Marsh (Waterloo Station) is a freshly finished and hip hotel. A mix of rock n roll and industrial chic. A nice bohemian lobby with bar with a friendly young staff. Lower Marsh is convenient to Waterloo Station and just across the bridge from Big Ben and the House of Lords. An eclectic mix of shops nearby that is vehicle restricted so great for walking.

This property was one of my favorites hotels and locations. Walking distance from the train station and a closed down street to vendors with great food 6 days a week. Easy walk to Wesminster bridge and the london eye

I loved this quirky hotel. The staff at reception were absolutely delightful and friendly The room was comfortable. Great shower. Really good breakfast. Very nice that they make you proper coffees, such as Americano or cappuccino. Good breakfast service

Great stay at this very quirky gem of a hotel. Central to everything with a label of civility you can afford. Cocktails at night, breakfast could have had a hot option. But ace stay.

We chose this hotel because of the location for a venue were visiting on the weekend. It is on Lower Marsh which is a great street for restsuramts and a few bars. The hotel is very friendly, clean and comfortable. The big downside is the 'Breakfast' it is a cold continental breakfast which i didnt expect so very disappointed, even the boiled eggs were cold. The only hot thing available was toast. The staff were great and service was excellent.

Lovely location, plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The property itself feels uber cool, even though we are grey haired warriors, we didn’t feel out of place. The room was lovely, unusual layout but it certainly worked. Bed extremely comfortable as were the pillows, really thankful for the air conditioning. Breakfast was fresh and imaginative, lots of choices -bottomless barista coffee was a bonus.
