Better than staying at one of the hotel chains. Had a mini kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, cutleries, mugs and dish soap, which is handy for meals. Facilities are neat and well kept. Big bed for 2 people also. Had netflix on tv also. Really loved our stay.

This is an old building that has been converted to a hotel. The parking is limited very tight. While there are a few spaces in front of the building, the gate is very tight and you should park behind the building if possible. Otherwise while the road was noisy, inside the flat the room was quiet, clean, and felt safe.

The Sweeney Apartments far exceeded my expectations. I had booked as couldn’t book where I normally book and the apartment was great. The room was very spacious with great facilities. The kitchenette was just right, with microwave, fridge and kettle in place. The only thing I missed was a toaster and a sharp knife, but that is minor. It is within easy walking distance into town and there is ample parking. Even though it is on the main road, I had no issues with noise. A very comfortable stay and I will 100% book again for the next time I am travelling for work.

Great place to stay for a short stop gap. Lovely rooms, comfy beds. Could do with a toaster for breakfasts. The Complimentary water is much appreciated. Communication could be better, we emailed a couple of months in advance about the possibility of a ground floor room, but we didn't get a response unfortunately.

We stayed one night with our 10 month baby and our dog on a Saturday night (attending a function nearby). As we had both baby and dog, it was important for us to have good kitchen facilities. The location was good and it was quiet overnight (not much traffic noise) and the premises felt secure. We found the room to be clean, modern and comfortable furnishings and decor, travel cot provided and the usual amenities (lovely Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom). We were particularly pleased to find the kitchen well stocked with what we needed with good sized fridge, microwave, crockery, cutlery etc. This makes all the difference for a family stay! One tiny thing (splitting hairs!) is it would have been handy to have had a couple of trays in the kitchen as we had an evening meal in the room, so this would have made dining a bit easier. But really, can’t complain! The only feedback we would have is check in was 4pm and check out 10am - we felt this was on the late side and early side respectively. We would have appreciated an 11am check out as standard. Overall, would highly recommend and would stay again.

Bed was large and comfortable. The room was spec’d to a high standard which was nice. The kitchenette had all the necessary equipment with a large built in fridge and freezer compartment. Getting into the property was easy and fully self service. Onsite parking is free with quite a few spots at the back and front. There is a Chinese restaurant next door to the building that does takeaway which was a great option. Only issues for me; I didn’t like the sliding door for the bathroom, would much prefer a normal door that seals when closed properly, and the smart TV on the wall should be bigger and was too slow to operate.

Self check-in was very useful and easy to do. Parking was very accessible and plenty of space. Upon arriving at the lovely outside of the building the window was very well decorated with snow spray art. Heading up to the apartment was also very nice. In the apartment, we found it to be cold even with all the raditors on full. Handy and useful to have a small kitchenette. The quality of the shower was brilliant and very powerful, but unfortunately there was a fair amount of hairs left on the sink and the sink also had a leak which we had to sacrifice the bath mat to use to catch the drips. The bed was very comfy and the room was surprisingly quiet considering its on a busy street. Struggled for wifi at times, but when it was present it was a good speed. Thanks for the stay but improvements needed.

Cannot fault the Sweeney for comfort and cleanliness. Small kitchen area with fridge is great along with the complimentary tea and coffee and caramel wafers. Great shower with fluffy towels that actually dry you.

A convenient location for Central Scotland’s motorway and train network (a few minutes drive from J6 of the M74 and a short stroll to Motherwell train station). We expected more of an apartment experience - whilst there was a fridge and microwave there was nowhere to eat (low armchairs and a lower coffee table don’t cut it!). During a rare hot spell in Scotland we were surprised to (eventually) discover that the radiator was on but not before we had reacted by removing the 10.5 tog duvet from its cover! Big mistake as it was a bio-hazard with blood and other stains all over it (we told ourselves it was coffee and juice!). The shower was excellent with plenty of high-pressured hot water.

Staff were able to accommodate a room change for mobility purposes quickly and requests for room supplies were happily done. There are many stairs to navigate to access some rooms.

Nice clean room but a bit small. Check in is not til 4 o’clock and I asked for an earlier one but they did not reply. Bottled water, tea, coffee etc provided.

Truth is i stay here regularly almost every week at times but just for 1 night. I would be staying 2 nights a week for the next 7 months however i stayed 2 nights last week and the room is not serviced the 2nd night, i like getting the 2 bottles of water and 2 biscuits its what makes it that bit special, coming into an unmade bed and towels , well thats ok but the water and the biscuits they have saved on the laundry surely the wee extras could be done!!!

Pros: very clean, quiet. 3 min walk to bus stop, 10 min walk to local grocery stores. Very Nice cleaning staff. Newly refurbished room and bathroom. Bed is ok, 2 twin beds brought together so may be difficult for couple to cuddle in the center but no big deal. Very clean and white towels and sheets. Room is cleaned after departure but can request towels and trash bags from cleaning staff. Our room had fridge and microwave, no hot plate or stove. Cons: no wifi. Unhappy about communication- I messages requesting info about wifi and got no response back. Can be inconvenient if you have school assignments or work to do. Bus takes about 30 min to get into town. About 1 hour 15 min to get to airport (1 bus change in Glasgow city), because it’s out of Glasgow city in Motherwell. Near impossible to get Uber to come to you. Can get Uber from the city to Motherwell. Our Uber from airport to apartment was about 38-45 British pounds. Suggestions for apartment: more hangers please! WiFi, wifi m, wifi. Things appreciated: cleanliness, easy check in, fridge, hair dryer, iron, quiet environment. Thank you so much!

Absolutely brilliant accommodation from chedk in to check out and the service was outstsnding i had to messfe the out of hours service and my query was dealt with very quickly and the service i received was excellentbthis will be my go to place to stay when i come back to stay in my home town of motherwell

This is an old building that has been converted to a hotel. The parking is limited very tight. While there are a few spaces in front of the building, the gate is very tight and you should park behind the building if possible. Otherwise while the road was noisy, inside the flat the room was quiet, clean, and felt safe.

Stayed here a couple of times and as usual it was great, the standards have never dropped over the years something some so called bespoke hotels could learn from. It was clean with some nice touches 5 minute walk from train station into the heart of Glasgow. Check in was simple and easy, plenty of off street parking. Would highly recommend.

Excellent communication prior to my visit, the room was spotless also the bathroom, comfy beds and clean sheets, all essentials available, easy parking, easy transport to Glasgow by car and train will definitely come back

This was my 2nd stay at Sweeney Apartments. Truthfully it cannot be faulted. This is now my go to place when working nearby. Great for business or pleasure trips. Great location close to restaurants, bars, shops and the great Strathclyde Country Park is only a 10 minute walk away. 5 Stars all the way!

Better than staying at one of the hotel chains. Had a mini kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, cutleries, mugs and dish soap, which is handy for meals. Facilities are neat and well kept. Big bed for 2 people also. Had netflix on tv also. Really loved our stay.

The Sweeney Apartments far exceeded my expectations. I had booked as couldn’t book where I normally book and the apartment was great. The room was very spacious with great facilities. The kitchenette was just right, with microwave, fridge and kettle in place. The only thing I missed was a toaster and a sharp knife, but that is minor. It is within easy walking distance into town and there is ample parking. Even though it is on the main road, I had no issues with noise. A very comfortable stay and I will 100% book again for the next time I am travelling for work.

Great place to stay for a short stop gap. Lovely rooms, comfy beds. Could do with a toaster for breakfasts. The Complimentary water is much appreciated. Communication could be better, we emailed a couple of months in advance about the possibility of a ground floor room, but we didn't get a response unfortunately.

Cannot fault the Sweeney for comfort and cleanliness. Small kitchen area with fridge is great along with the complimentary tea and coffee and caramel wafers. Great shower with fluffy towels that actually dry you.

We stayed one night with our 10 month baby and our dog on a Saturday night (attending a function nearby). As we had both baby and dog, it was important for us to have good kitchen facilities. The location was good and it was quiet overnight (not much traffic noise) and the premises felt secure. We found the room to be clean, modern and comfortable furnishings and decor, travel cot provided and the usual amenities (lovely Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom). We were particularly pleased to find the kitchen well stocked with what we needed with good sized fridge, microwave, crockery, cutlery etc. This makes all the difference for a family stay! One tiny thing (splitting hairs!) is it would have been handy to have had a couple of trays in the kitchen as we had an evening meal in the room, so this would have made dining a bit easier. But really, can’t complain! The only feedback we would have is check in was 4pm and check out 10am - we felt this was on the late side and early side respectively. We would have appreciated an 11am check out as standard. Overall, would highly recommend and would stay again.

Bed was large and comfortable. The room was spec’d to a high standard which was nice. The kitchenette had all the necessary equipment with a large built in fridge and freezer compartment. Getting into the property was easy and fully self service. Onsite parking is free with quite a few spots at the back and front. There is a Chinese restaurant next door to the building that does takeaway which was a great option. Only issues for me; I didn’t like the sliding door for the bathroom, would much prefer a normal door that seals when closed properly, and the smart TV on the wall should be bigger and was too slow to operate.

We are very pleased to find the room was extremely clean, comfortable and had the small things we required such as soap, shower gel, lotion, cutlery, microwave and a lot of fridge space with two bc old water bottles ready. The bed was very comfortable we slept very well. Would recommend!

Very good, reasonably priced accommodation in Motherwell. Very quiet and yet convenient to town centre. Only problem was neither of the bedside lamps were working, but nothing major as I was only there for one night. Would definitely recommend and would use again.
