La Spezia by The First - Luxury Rooms & Suites

Very disappointed. We booked based on available parking. The ad said offsite FREE parking. It was expensive. There is no front desk - so need to self check in using whatsapp. When I inquired I found the responses rude. Although the room was clean it was expensive considering no one is onsite

Sto at det var parkering, det var det ikke. Umulig å finne, stappet med biler overalt i hele byen. Kjørte rundt i byen sikkert 10 ganger, for å få funnet plass. Ingen som jobbet på hotellet, måtte sjekke inn selv, med hjelp via whatsapp. Veldig fint hotellrom.

체크인이 비대면으로 이루어지는것을 제외하면 훌륭한숙소입니다 단, 주차장은 별도로 제공하지 않으며 노상주차장을 이용해야합니다

Great convenient location for walking. Only issue was parking. Nothing really very close. Great self check in directions so it went smoothly without actually having a front desk.

Falsely advertised. No King bed, not a Jr. Suite. One small room and an uncomfortable cot .Tiny bathroom. No parking.

El check in fue rapido, es a dos calles del lugar. La llegada al lugar buena ( no mires el estado por fuera de el, cuando abres la puerta del hotel estando dentro es otra muy buena ) El balcon amplio y todo limpio. Tienes buena comunicación con el personal. Tienes caja fuerte. Tiene secadora de cabello. Elevador. Alrededor hay muchos cafes y bares.

It’s a three story walk up and the elevator does not work. The rooms are as they appear, nice and modern. The facility in a decrepit multi use building, it has not been painted in years, a window is out covered with dirty plastic. We walked away, they refused a refund.

I stayed in the Junior Suite for two nights while visiting Cinque Terre. Location is close to the water, cruise terminal and a park. Highly recommend No Name cafe for breakfast or aperitif. Plus an excellent restaurant, Pink Benny is next door! It should be noted that the building is not like a typical hotel. There is no reception for check in and instructions are sent via Whats App on how to get the key. It felt a bit like getting through an escape room at first but once you find the keys check in was easy! There is an elevator in the building. Once you check in there is a small hall with several updated suites. The suite was quiet, very clean, and provided a small mini bar for a fee. I felt very safe staying here! If you stay here to visit Cinque Terre via train the building is approximately a 15-20 minute walk. This was not a problem but if mobility is an issue I would recommend a taxi or utilize the bus system. Otherwise everything you need is within a 5 minute walk to explore La Spezia. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Central place in La Spezia with good walking distance to restaurants and train station (about 15 min walking). About 15 min away from good parking spaces in a parking garage (15 euro per day). Good place to stay if you just need a place to sleep

Great location, clean and good amenities

This was an interesting experience. We spent nearly an hour trying to find the “hotel”, which proved to be difficult bc it’s not a hotel. Thankfully some locals saw us struggling with our luggage and came to help. The ROOM itself looks just as pictured. However, everything else is quite sketchy. Upon arrival we were asked for our what’s app info to send us instructions on how to get in. There was this building (with spray paint graffiti all around and metal bars on windows and doors) that we needed a code to get into. We got the code and were instructed to go to a lockbox that had a key for us. No receptionist/concierge (as their website mentions concierge, food, tours, etc…but we never saw a soul). The website also shows photos of a different town that is a train ride away as if it’s near the “hotel”. We honestly almost left and ate the price. After an hour discussion, we decided that we would be taking trains each day to explore this area of Italy anyways and the room itself was fine, so we did end up staying. I was very much looking forward to a luxury hotel for this part of the trip and that’s absolutely not what this is. Again, the room/bathroom is exactly as pictured except for some minor broken things that don’t matter (like some paint needing touched up or shower drain loose etc). We definitely felt duped.

In spite of no personnel present at check in, it went quite smoothly after reading all instructions. Room was immaculate and well equipped. Electronics are very well accommodated. Would highly recommend.

Det låter kanske omständligt, men allt fungerade väldigt smidigt. När vi kom in möttes vi av en sval och fräsch hall med ett fåtal hotellrum. Vårt rum var modernt, rent och fint – och balkongen var riktigt mysig. Vi hade även bokat frukost, som serverades på ett café/restaurang ca 7 minuters promenad bort. Frukosten var över förväntan – supergod mat, trevlig personal och härlig atmosfär. Rekommenderas om du vill ha ett praktiskt och bekvämt boende med lite mer lokal känsla än ett traditionellt hotell.

Je pensais que c’était un hôtel mais pas vraiment Plutôt un couloir où il y’a 4 chambres. L’immeuble est vétuste. J’ai pris une chambre avec un balcon mais qui donne sur une rue avec beaucoup de travaux et d’échafaudages. Jusque là, pas grave la chambre est belle, bien décorée et confortable mais les draps n’ont pas été changés.

The room was clean but to access the room is kinda complicated with the code, keycard and key. We felt almost too safe with all the locks on the doors. We overall recommand it because of the location.

Very clean and comfortable. Communication via WhatsApp was quick, self check-in & check out was easy. Building is secure and in a good location near the marina and driving distance to all the sites. I was concerned after reading bad reviews online but we had no issues at all in the honeymoon suite and loved our stay.

Air conditioning didn’t work and a lot of amenities were extra like soap, water etc. the WiFi also didn’t work. good location and great communication with owner. Great for couples It was also quite close to a main road and a lot of noise of a night time.

hotel is actually an office suite with 6 rooms. unattended. Issue is if you need a taxi/other. Walking distance to train if no bags. New, but it got it done nicely and great AC!

La camera molto moderna e spaziosa. Non è inclusa l'acqua.

- No WhatsApp don’t book as this is the only form of communication you have with the owner. - Hotels.com states concierge service there was NONE, the room was located inside a residential apartment block with no obvious signage, NOT a HOTEL or even a B&B this it is a room sectioned off in an apartment. -Contacted via whatsapp and sent photos of lock boxes where each time a different key or card was obtained to be able to access the room, you don’t meet any concierge you are rather sent on a treasure hunt. - Free offsite parking hotels.com states, this is not the case, the off-site parking is the street and good luck, parking is scarce and small. Be aware this apartment does not have it’s own parking. - At 11pm the apartments power went out and people we unable to get into their room with their swipe card, we were told by 2 random people who were attempting to open peoples room with a key that the owner would be their in 10 minutes to fix the power, the owner never showed and their was a code to a lock box that was sent via whatsapp to all guest that opened an emergency box at the front of the apartment that held keys that could open everyone’s room BE AWARE this box could be opened by anyone staying in the room and meant that your room could have been opened and accessed by any number of strangers, VERY SCARY. - Air conditioner didn’t work. Whole experience lack lustre save your money and just stay else where

I didn’t like the self check inn system in fact when I booked I had no idea it was a self check inn The address on line was different that the one that was sent to me on wathsapp it was two different buildings it was very confusing it would have been very nice to have someone with the keys welcoming you the room was very clean the bed comfortable room and bathroom kind of small location very convenient

Check in process was a nightmare! Do NOT book this property unless you use WhatsApp and plan to have cell service while in country. There was no other option to receive the check in information and building codes. No flexibility was offered, and no sympathy was expressed by the manager. We were told we\'d be "outside," unless we were able to use WhatsApp. The room was not even at the address listed on orbitz and was actually around the block. It was a stranger letting us borrow her phone that ultimately allowed us to access our room.

I booked the hotel while I was on the road via Hotels.com and did not scroll to the bottom of the page where is showed the reception had closed prior to my booking time, After discussions with Hotels.com the refund was refused. There is 3 issues. 1. The booking was made after closing. This should not have been allowed 2. The hotel should have refunded the money 3. I will check the fine print more and use another booking site Be careful as this place closes at 18:30 for checkin honestly a time when people finishing work are still on the road. No Breakfast, no Check in desk, all in all a bad experience

I’ve received an email from Expedia informing me where to go for the check-in. The location is NOT where the apartment is, but in a restricted area. I would have needed a permit to reach the place for the check in. Did not get any and when asked for help, the staff via WhatsApp was rude. Via WhatsApp I’ve received different information on how to access the apartment. I will receive a ticket because I went to their offices for check in!!!! Also, I’ve asked for WIFI password and the answer via WhatsApp was: we already gave it to you. What manners are these???!!?? Anyhow, be ready for bad assistance and bad A/C.

The check in process was horrible. We received an email telling us to attend their offices, we did and there was no one there. We assumed that they were closed for lunch so kept checking back. Eventually we called and emailed them and they told us that the office was not manned and that check in was all automated. At the site, another customer banged on our door because they couldn't get the automated exit door to work for them. It took us a couple of minutes to figure it out IF this was an emergency due to a fire, people would have died. This door NEEDS to be replaced with an emergency exit feature.

Excelente alojamiento, queda cerca del terminal de trenes, muchas tiendas y restaurant cerca, los encargados del alojamiento en todo momento estuvieron atentos con nosotros, inclusive días antes de llegar a la propiedad, la verdad una estadía ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful location, great restaurants close to apartment. Very clean and close to the waterfront park. We truly enjoyed our time here. Bonus, the safe was stuck with our passports and they came out on a Sunday afternoon to rescue us. Best communication and went above and beyond what we expected. Highly recommend.

Nice, clean, very good AC. It was the perfect place to stay while visiting Cinque Terre with my wife and kids, 5 and 8. Nice neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and close to the city centre, the harbour and the local market. It’s definitely an option to stay when we come back without children to hike Cinque Terre, but we’ll do that off season with less tourists.

Wir hatten die Junior Suite, die zu dritt sehr eng werden kann. Durch das Ausklapp- Bett hat man keine Fläche, um 3 Koffer zu öffnen. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Alles ist zu Fuß erreichbar. Check In und Out funktionieren durch detaillierte Beschreibungen gut.

Boa localização, no centro. Muitos restaurantes perto. Usamos de base para ir a cinqueterre. Não tem recepção no local,, então o contato foi feito por e-mail e WhatsApp, mas com horário de atendimento limitado, mas deixaram telefone para entrar em contato caso necessário. Ponto negativo: wifi fraquissimo. As vezes funcionava na porta de entrada. Dentro do quarto não funcionou. Sugestão: deixar pelo menos 1 garrafa de agua cortesia. Tinha 3 garrafas de agua, todas pagas. A cápsula de café da cafeteira também tinha que pagar. Não achei isso gentil, até pelo preço da diária.

Réservation effectuée avec des dates erronées suite à une redirection sur un prix plus intéressant par la plate-forme Hotels.com. J'ai téléphoné dans les 10 minutes qui ont suivi pour faire l'annulation mais je n'ai pu me faire rembourser ni la chambre, ni les petits dejéuner ni les taxes de séjour pour un séjour que je ne pouvais honorer. Au total, perte de 352 euros. Je suis tout de même aller dans cet hôtel à mes dates initiales. La chambre était propre. Il s'agit d'un hôtel sans réelle réception puisque c'est une partie d'un étage d'un immeuble qui est dédiée à l'hôtel. On entendait malheureusement les gens de la chambre d'à côté mais ça criait fortement. Le petit-déjeuner ne se prend pas sur place et il n'est nullement indiqué cela quelque part. L'hôtel est cependant bien situé.

Jättebra hotell nära till stan, färja samt tåg. Perfekt att utgå ifrån för att besöka magiska cinque terre! Vi var två barn och två vuxna. Härlig service trots att reception saknades. Underbara restauranger kring hörnet!
