Beautiful building and grounds, very clean. Breakfast was basic but perfect enough to start the day. Our room was comfortable. Location was perfect, short walk to the beach and pier. Rodolfo was an excellent host! Very friendly, big smile, genuinely seemed interested in the guests passing through the lobby. I highly recommend La Playa Inn!

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. Easy stroll to the beach and a nice walk to the center of town while also close to the 101. Parking was easy and safe, rooms are very nice and well appointed. They have some lovely common areas to sit in and the staff was friendly. Overall, no real complaints; I'd definitely check availability here if I were considering another visit to Santa Barbara. My only comment would be on breakfast. When a hotel advertises that it includes breakfast, it's always a bit of a crap shoot on what you'll actually get. In this case, it's a bit higher quality than standard roadside motel fare but still the usual sugary yogurt, some fresh fruit and various bread options. The pastries wrapped in plastic were kinda dry and bland (and the plastic wrap seems wasteful, but probably useful if you're grabbing something for the road). This breakfast wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me when deciding whether to stay here but its always helpful to know what the breakfast is actually like. If you have time, there are loads of yummy restaurants and cafes within 15 minutes' walking distance, would highly encourage patronizing them if you want something more substantial.

We paid $600 a night for a weekend in mid July, no pool, no hot tub, no bar. No restaurant. No glass cups or ceramic mugs in the rooms. Aside from adequate cleanliness, there were no premium details of any kind that would make this place stand out. Spend a little more at Mason Beach around the corner and you at least get a pool.

Really nice inn, right across the harbor. Free parking, continental breakfast, hot/tea coffee all day in the lobby. Clean, big rooms, u can actually open windows which is nice. Check in fast and pleasant.

The towels and bedsheets are of horrible quality and condition. Yes the property was renovated a few years ago but it motel quality was written all over. Room was not clean as I found stray hair on both bed and bathtub. The receptionist from Italy was super friendly though. There are way better accommodations w similar price range.

They have rooms without functioning air conditioner A/C and they know it. They will offer you a FAN ( the fans are right at the lobby) proof they know about the PROBLEM!!! I had to leave the hotel at 9 pm and find another!!

Very nice property. Rooms were clean. Loved that it had a sliding door for fresh air. Breakfast was a nice perk. Easy walk to the beach. Only thing that wasn't ideal was that the beds were full instead of queen.

This is a very good option for a stay in Santa Barbara. It feels like a nearly new property which is well designed and finished. My well appointed and quite large room was on the third floor - I saw that certain rooms on the second floor had balconies, if you would like outside space. The location is perfect, a short walk to the marina and the restaurants and a short walk to Stearns Wharf. I found the breakfast to be just what was needed to start the day. Oh yes, I was greeted with a pleasant welcome, which is always appreciated.

What's not to like about brand new hotel? Everything is good except: The plumbing noise. I can hear the noise whenever my next door room takes shower. The Continental breakfast can get a little upgrade. Everything else in the hotel has a premium feel except for the breakfast. It looks like something from holiday inn Express.

Cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Housekeeping as pleasant as possible. Prepaid and confirmed late checkin only to arrive to find my selected room given away and I had to settle for a different room. Competent unacceptable. No financial offer/discount to compensate me. With numerous excellent choices, I'll probably try another hotel next time because of this.

The location was excellent. It was walking distance to Stearns Wharf, the beach, and State St. The staff at the front desk were outstanding. They were super helpful in guiding us with recommendations for places to eat and also had good insights regarding our questions about the various museums, mission, and the Courthouse.

We liked that it is close proximity to the beach and pier. Reception/checkin person hardly interacted with us. just gave us the key and said bfast is at 7. Don't want to see a grumpy staff after driving for 14 hrs.

Arrived two hours before check in. Asked to see if we could park and walk around before check in. Rodolfo was the person working front desk he informed me they actually upgraded our room and it wasn’t ready, but we could leave our car and go walk around. He called me hour later to inform me room was ready. The room was clean, spacious and amazing. The property was clean over all, well maintained. Everything about this place we absolutely loved. When we check out Rodolfo helped us again. He truly was so friendly and the continental breakfast they had was actually not bad. Love they had local roasting company coffee on had at all time. Will stay here every time we come to SB.
Arrived two hours before check in. Asked to see if we could park and walk around before check in. Rodolfo was the person working front desk he informed me they actually upgraded our room and it wasn’t ready, but we could leave our car and go walk around. He called me hour later to inform me room was ready. The room was clean, spacious and amazing. The property was clean over all, well maintained. Everything about this place we absolutely loved. Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. Easy stroll to the beach and a nice walk to the center of town while also close to the 101. Parking was easy and safe, rooms are very nice and well appointed. They have some lovely common areas to sit in and the staff was friendly. Overall, no real complaints; I'd definitely check availability here if I were considering another visit to Santa Barbara. My only comment would be on breakfast. When a hotel advertises that it includes breakfast, it's always a bit of a crap shoot on what you'll actually get. In this case, it's a bit higher quality than standard roadside motel fare but still the usual sugary yogurt, some fresh fruit and various bread options. The pastries wrapped in plastic were kinda dry and bland (and the plastic wrap seems wasteful, but probably useful if you're grabbing something for the road). This breakfast wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me when deciding whether to stay here but its always helpful to know what the breakfast is actually like. If you have time, there are loads of yummy restaurants and cafes within 15 minutes' walking distance, would highly encourage patronizing them if you want something more substantial.

Hotel was better than we expected! Clean and quiet and walking distance (2-4 min) to SB Waterfront, Maritime Museum, Lil Toot Water Taxi dock (takes you to Stearns Wharf), the beach, restaurants and the Carriage and Western Art Museum is across the street! Can’t get any better!

Friendly staff, perfect location near the wharf, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Nice to be able to park on the premises. We’re happy to have found La Playa Inn. It’s a quiet location tucked away from the hustle & bustle, yet close to most everything.

Location is great, couple blocks back from the beach and some excellent restaurants on State street. It’s smaller which is nice with all open halls to capitalize on the great weather. Really great layout with the second floor courtyard offering shaded seating. Great trip with a great base camp at La Playa.

Super clean property and immaculate room. Very quiet since it’s about a mile from State Street. The only negative is the park across the street which is a little “sketchy” at night.

Our stay at La Playa Inn was delightful. On our arrival we were given loads of information about the town centre and how to navigate and some suggestions for sightseeing. The hotel itself was immaculately clean and spacious. With two teenage girls there was plenty of room to prep for going out. We were a 3 minute walk to the beach and a 12 minute walk to the town hub. We loved staying in Santa Barbara I would highly recommend the town and this hotel.

Beautiful building and grounds, very clean. Breakfast was basic but perfect enough to start the day. Our room was comfortable. Location was perfect, short walk to the beach and pier. Rodolfo was an excellent host! Very friendly, big smile, genuinely seemed interested in the guests passing through the lobby. I highly recommend La Playa Inn!

This hotel is absolutely perfect. If I could move in I would. We loved our room. It was spacious and comfortable. Loved the decor. The staff was amazing and helpful. The breakfast was also great. I will be dreaming of those chocolate croissants for a long time. You can not beat the location. Everything is within walking distance. I would never want to stay anywhere else in Santa Barbara!

We were visiting schools in California and moving around everyday. This place by far was my favorite. It was the only place that offered complimentary coffee and a variety of bakery items, yogurt and fruit. Very clean and comfortable beds. For us, that were always on the go to our scheduled appointments it was definitely a plus. Front desk staff was super friendly too. I would definitely stay here again!

The lobby, hallways, and room were all very clean. Hard floors (no gross carpet). Plenty of places to plug in. There was plenty of parking underneath and in front of the hotel. Many of the rooms seem identical inside, but their location may influence your rating. Our room had a balcony and was on the corner. Ideal for that room. However there were others with balconies that were right in front of the walkway. I don't think I would have loved those as much. Continental breakfast was fairly simple with croissants and muffins. We walked to State Street (the happening area of SB). Great price for the location.
