El desayuno estubo bueno. Más las habitaciones y el Hotel está viejo, sin remodelar, las piscinas lucían con aguas turbias, donde estabs la ducha alrededor de la piscina se formaba una especie de agua empozada con mal olor y criadero de dengue posiblemente. Las habitaciones, algo viejas, los baños tenían costras de suciedad, las perillas oxidadas, espejos oxidados, el chorro de la ducha se salís por todo lado, lo reportamos...pero no funcionó. En fin NUNCA más volvería a este hotel, relación precio...muy caro para ser tan feo.

Terrible customer service. Delayed check in. Broken elevator with two bad knees. Asked for ice in the room. Their response was “you have to get it yourself. Go to the restaurant and they will give you one glass at a time. Each time requiring 4 flights of stairs each way. They claim the elevator was closed due to Covid. Funny… no other elevator in the world is closed for Covid. If you need something after hours, you’re on your own. No one answers the phone. Loud fist pumping music playing ALL NIGHT until 5am the night before leaving. Called front desk. No answer. The room and view were great though.

There is construction work going on on site and next door. No one told us about it before. The next door property will not be completed for the next 12 to 24 mo. Be aware. I would not go there again.

The hotel is what we expected of a 3 or 3.5 hotel Fantastic staff,beach chairs available ocean front,clean pool area. Easy to walk for dining options. Fantastic sunsets every night. Would stay there again

The hotel name was not accurate upon arrival, and the builiding was gray instead of orange in the photos, but this is a great place to stay in Jaco! Has 2 pools, but the hottubs are same temp as pools. On the beach.

On a bien aimé l’emplacement, malheureusement l’ascenseur ne fonctionne pas, ils nous ont changé de chambre car la douche fonctionnait pas, la toilette ne fonctionnait pas, le coffre fort ne fonctionnait pas, la porte patio ne fonctionnait pas, l’air climatisé coulait par terre.

The hotel is really infront of the beach and they have breakfast. A pre-fixed menu with ok flavor and fruits. BUT DONT STAY HERE. The front desk lady had an bad attitude and she didn’t think her work was more important than chatting with a local. The bathroom was the worst, the toilet is “flushed” by pushing. BUT it’s super hard, and it has to be hold for a while to actually work. The shower didn’t close, and the floor under has a disgusting stain with a slippery growth. The mosquito screen had a bunch of holes where the mosquitoes were getting in either way. The swimming pool was green, they had some people pretending to cleaning but as soon as they thought we had left they stopped. The pool was still green with some slippery stuff on the floor and walls. I was excited to take my baby daughter to cool off at the pool but it was soo bad I couldn’t. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I will say that the location was in the middle of everything. Unfortunately, location was the only positive. We actually left about 10 minutes after checking in. The room was gross. Just not clean. The sink was broken, the room was outdated, and bathroom was grimey. We stayed just long enough to hook up to the wi-fi so we could find another hotel and then we left. I will not recommend this hotel at all.

The site I booked had a broken Jacuzzi, no shower head in the Shower and the AC did not work. I had to move to another room which was a much smaller standard room, but no price adjustments were made. The AC in the small room was very weak as well. I am hesitant to provide this review because the staff was pleasant, but it just wasn’t a good stay.

We booked the suite and everything in the room is extremely old. The shower had more water hitting the wall than your body. Some cabinets wouldn’t close. The safe didn’t work. The tub was outdated, the windows wouldn’t close, the wifi was a bad connection and spotty, the tv picture quality was bad. The bar was useless and was the only place to work as there was no work desk. The water dripped continuously in the shower. The towels were thin and very used. I don’t believe the square feet advertised. The only positive was the view.

The toilet didn’t work great, and there isn’t a lot of space to sit by the pool. Other than that, everything was great. Buffet breakfast every morning. Amazing staff. Great size room. Right at the beach, walking distance to the shops in Jaco. Beds were great. Two lovely pools. Great value!

Great location. Looks nice. Needs better curtains . The current curtains are see through and since my unit was a corner unit, people walking by the room could see straight in. To bad of the loud construction next to it but once that is done it should be ok.

I was dumbfounded with this hotel after reading the reviews. I can't possibly understand if I was at the same hotel as the ones who wrote recent reviews. We booked four nights. First of all they offer "free self parking". Well the hotel is on the public beach and the public beach has parking which is always full especially at night. Lucky if you can park anywhere near the hotel and you have to park on dark side streets at night way away from the hotel. The room was incredibly run down. The balcony door lock was broken which made the room totally unsecure. The hot water was scarce and the drain was partially clogged. The internet was horrible and kept going in and out. Only one plug in the entire room worked and to charge your phone you had to unplug the TV to use it. The coffee machine was brand new, never used, until I realized that this was because the TV outlet was high up on the wall and the plug could not reach this TV outlet, so it was useless. The beds and the linens were very clean however. The pictures on the website of the pool were deceptive. What was missing in the photos was that the pool was packed with people and children all day. It was impossible to even attempt to swim in it. I would characterize it as a "kiddie wading pool". Every chair around the pool was occupied so there was no where to sit.

The restaurant next door (Coco’s) was great.

The location is perfect. The food is good. Breakfast is included. The internet always works and even reaches out to the beach. Plenty of towels in the rooms. The biggest fail is that coolers and personal speakers are prohibited around the pool. I would not stay here again solely for this reason. The seating at the restaurant should be managed better. I traveled in a group of 10 family members, 6 adults and 4 kids. One or two people would be allowed to occupy a table for 6 instead of a table for 2 or 4 and the employees wouldn't ask them to move to a smaller table. But then we were asked to move from the two tables of 4 that we pulled chairs up to because it left a table of 2 without chairs and we were told that they were executive tables as if we didn't belong there.

When I arrived th staff greeted me with Purda Vida kindness. The room furniture was outdated the mattress not very comfortable, but we are in costa \rica so for the region and th price I would say it is averge. I got complimentary breakfast dail which was good. The hotel is really infront of the beach and they have breakfast. A pre-fixed menu with ok flavor and fruits. BUT DONT STAY HERE. The front desk lady had an bad attitude and she didn’t think her work was more important than chatting with a local. The bathroom was the worst, the toilet is “flushed” by pushing. BUT it’s super hard, and it has to be hold for a while to actually work. The shower didn’t close, and the floor under has a disgusting stain with a slippery growth. The mosquito screen had a bunch of holes where the mosquitoes were getting in either way. The swimming pool was green, they had some people pretending to cleaning but as soon as they thought we had left they stopped. The pool was still green with some slippery stuff on the floor and walls. I was excited to take my baby daughter to cool off at the pool but it was soo bad I couldn’t. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Location is excellent - better part of the beach (in my opinion), right on the beach, and a short walk from the main strip. This was my second time staying there. It is an older hotel and it's currently going through some changes and renovations. Staff is friendly - no complaints there. However breakfast is no longer a buffet - and takes a long time to arrive. And you now have to wear bracelets like you would at a resort - except it's not a resort and those bracelets are annoying in the water and cause tan lines. We kept taking ours off. Also, one of our rooms had the glass for the shower installed on the wrong side so the water would splash everywhere when you shower - but hoping the renovations will address that.

This is my 3rd trip to Balcon Del Mar. ( in the middle of a name change to Paradise Jaco Beach). I love that it’s right on the sand. It’s a small resort and by then end of the week you know the staff, they are wonderful. Breakfast every morning included is also nice.

El hotel es agradable, tiene una buena limpieza con respecto a las instalaciones, sin embargo el restaurante es excesivamente caro en comparacion a restaurantes de renombre que he comido en la ciudad de San Jose. Por un pulpo al ajillo nos cobraron 17 mil colones, cuando lo normal a pagar son entre 7 y 8 mil colones. Las recepcionistas estan un poco perdidas en su puesto y cuando se les solicita una factura electronica estas no llegan nunca al correo.
El hotel es agradable, tiene una buena limpieza con respecto a las instalaciones, sin embargo el restaurante es excesivamente caro en comparacion a restaurantes de renombre que he comido en la ciudad de San Jose. The rooms are a little dated. But, it’s beachfront, the pools are nice, the bar and dining area is nice, the restaurant is top notch, breakfast, lunch and dinner are very good. Parking is convenient. The staff is great. I go to Jacó a few times a year and I doubt I’ll ever stay anywhere else again.
