Overall this is a great boutique hotel in an excellent location. They have a fun colourful vibe and were very accommodating. We emailed the hotel prior to our trip with a special request for a specific room and they did an excellent job with our request, we were very happy. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They do have a lot of rules which are mostly common sense and respectful however my least 2 favourite rules are that you cannot have any drinks of your own at the pool and you are not allowed any outside guests in your room. I think these two rules should get looked at and revised to allow for some flexibility.

Very cute, clean, quiet boutique hotel. Two blocks from the pier in the ocean. Lots of oceanfront restaurants and everything else you could want in walking distance including buses to other beaches and botanical garden. Good bed, good pillows. Good water pressure in shower. Nice pool.

The stairs leading to the property are grueling. After an evening of local libations the stairs are rough. The pool bar and happy hour bar prices rival the local bars, if not exceed. Offer costs and add free appetizers for visitors retention. Bar person is great!!

Great location and good place to stay. Adults only is such a great benefit for a relaxing time by the pool. Would have been nice to know there was a pool bar. Prices of the bar are similar to places nearby. Rooms were great. Free coffee and pastry were given. Overall was great experience and will stay here again

Just left after a 10 night stay. This boutique hotel was awesome from the moment we walked in. The staff were so nice and welcoming and always engaging in conversation if you want each day. The pool and loungers are great as well as the room and patio. The adults only vibe is nice as they have music playing at pool. It is right in the heart of zone romantica but super quiet at night. Everything was in good working order in our room and we had a patio which was great. High recommend this place.

I had a later return flight and I was able to take a later than check out shower. The location was excellent. I stayed in one of the few pool side suites. The pool was 12' from my door. The water was not heated but always clean. They even helped with a ride back to the airport. The breakfast was a nice arrangement of a small amount of fruit and simple scrambled eggs. Although I only had it a few times (opted for ranchero's down the block which are my fav). The only negative was the poolside rooms did not block a lot of sound so room to room and outside noise was noticeable. I've stayed in many rooms in Mexico and this was one of the tops.

A unique boutique property with lots of color. There is a bar next to the pool, and the room was clean and colorful. Beach towels were provided with a bag to carry them in. Staff was attentive, escorting us to room to go over use of air conditioning, fan, etc. family came to check out the hotel, and like us, said they loved the look of the property and the room. I would definitely stay again!

Not a lot of pool room, very small boutique hotel. Pool bar, but no food service. Lots of places to eat close by. No coffee in the room. If you are looking for a resort stay.. this is not the place.

Friendly staff, bright happy Mexican decor. Nice to have a full sized fridge (with freezer!) in my room. Thoughtful addition of hamper with beach towels to use at the pool or down at the beach. Quiet, safe and fantastic location!

A wonderful place to stay just blocks from the Pier. Cute, clean facilities with a lovely courtyard/pool area for relaxing. Amazing drinks from Eva the bartender. Well-appointed room with comfy bed. Continental breakfast next door was a nice surprise. We look forward to coming back.

Great clean place with wonderful art. Location is only two blocks from the Malacon with plenty of options for food, shops and very convenient. The staff was great, very helpful when something was needed and the bartender Jorge always had some good tunes playing!

Cute Boutique for a couple. Friendly staff. There are stairs so, if you have difficulty with these here is your warning. Was only here for one night. Shower drain was clogged so we had to take a quick shower before shower filled with water. Informed staff at checkout so not sure if fixed.

First of all, the property is very quiet at night, and that is important because it is located not far from a lot of nightlife and carrying on. We heard nothing to disturb or sleep. Second, they are really making an attempt to create a joyful, clean, and welcoming space in a modest Venue, and they have succeeded. The general area around the swimming pool is always clean, the chairs and other accoutrements are just right, as is the lighting. Thirdly, and this is where things start to veer off, had to do with the offputting odor that emanated from the bathroom. Something in the plumbing needs to be addressed; if we kept the bathroom door closed there was no problem, but after every use, we had to open everything up through no fault of our own. Fourth would be the lack of a warm and truly welcoming feeling emanating from the front desk. During part of our visit, through no fault of the venue, we were struck with a common kind of intestinal problem that comes from the local cuisine, and had to request extra amenities For the bathroom. Virtually every time we requested something at the front desk, it was given grudgingly, and made us feel uncomfortable. This has nothing to do with the maintenance staff, and the lovely women who clean the rooms – they were always very warm and if they were around, gave us what we needed. There is virtually no service at this place beyond the bare minimum, and one time when I requested a soda in the pool area, was asked to pay cash for it.

The water pressure stayed low regardless of time of day, how many others were showering, whether cold was added in, etc. overall, still fabulous place to stay. This was my 6th time at the casa Maria. Great location and friendly staff. However, one of the most uncomfortable beds I've experienced. After a brutal first night's sleep, I asked whether they had a mattress topper and they didn't, so sleeping remained difficult. I wouldn't return unless they upgrade the bedding.

Great hotel. Staff is amazing; so friendly. Only a few complaints. WiFi was out for the entire trip. This cost is $165 in data usage that should’ve been free on WiFi. Pool bar requires you to pay there even though the office has your credit card / deposit on file. This wasn’t a big deal for me since my room was poolside, however if I was on the third floor I’d have to bring my wallet down to hang out at the pool. Bathroom lighting is extremely poor at the sink. Putting on makeup is nearly impossible even with the so called vanity light that’s built into the mirror. I would definitely stay again as long as they got the WiFi fixed. I’d bring a lighted makeup mirror and just bring ky own drinks to the pool.

Loved that the place was quiet and tucked away in a central location. The staff were super friendly and the place is very clean. Wifi signal was weak and a small couch might have been nice but overall it was a great little hotel.

Cute and quaint hotel. Excellent service from Luis and all staff were friendly and helpful. Great location central to many good restaurants and walkable stops. Also, breakfast was great to have every morning. My only take away on star was the bed was made up pretty, mattress could be more comfy. Overall, it was a great stay. I would consider again for my next stat in Zona Romantica.

The service and hospitality was amazing, everyone was super friendly and nice. The house keeping paid very close attention to detail as well, which is definitely a plus. I didn't get a chance to go down to the pool but it looked very pleasant. The only downfall was the comfort of the bed, it just wasn't what I was used to. But overall definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for about a week. Service overall was great, especially the cleaning crew. Front desk and management did a poor job at accommodating guests after the hurricane that took electricity and water. I requested a clean bucket in the front desk to shower with pool water and was given a nasty old bucket. I feel like the hotel could have made some accommodations after the first day when other places and gyms were open, like a gym pass for the guests or access to showers in a sister property, etc. While it is understandable that natural weather events be can be challenging for everyone, this hotel could’ve been a little bit nicer about sending employees out to purchase a couple clean buckets, for example or maybe offering a place to charge phones. Will not stay here again nor recommend to friends.

The staff at Casa Maria were super helpful, even going so far as to arrange a safe, comfortable ride to the airport for our departing flight. Everyone was very welcoming and kind and happy to answer questions. The hotel was very conveniently located near restaurants, bars, shops, and the beach. I would highly recommend Casa Maria.

Sliding glass door is only entry, loud area until late, bright lights from pool area by slider had to put up decor blankets over curtains (not black out). Thin walls. People sit a pool inches from the slider. Small beds. Old blankets. Very uncomfortable. Had to change hotels no refund. Staff ignored Expedias attempts to contact.

I stayed at Casa Maria for three weeks in December. It's a small, quaint, charming, quiet, colorful little hotel of twenty rooms, located close to the heart of the Romantic Zone and close to the Los Muertos Beach Pier. The manager, Jaime, and his staff, both housekeeping and maintenance, are a remarkable group of people who will go out of their way to make your stay both comfortable and memorable. I loved staying there. If you want all the bells and whistles (spa, gym, etc.) of a large ultra-modern resort hotel, this is not the place for you. But if you want a wonderful comfortable cozy home away from home while in Puerto Vallarta, I can't recommend this little hotel highly enough.

The Property itself is gorgeous and Centrally Located. Eva is a 1000% Gem and treats you as if you're in her home. The only issue was when we added a third person to the room, which totalled $270 for 5 nights. At first I thought I misheard what they were saying, but no I was wrong. The Delivery Method of this news was a bit condecending too. They said it was necessary because the 3rd Guest will need his own Towel and Coffee. Anyway, it really left a stain on the Trip, but congratulations Front Desk Guys. You win. We will likely look at other options next time. Again, the Property is clean & marvelous, and Eva stands out as an amazing host. Just make sure you know about extra charges for an additional Guest. The Beds are very small, so just know it'll be a tight squeeze. They do not offer cots.

I've stayed here a dozen or so times over the years. It's a beautiful locally owned & ran hotel in the heart of old town. Walking distance to many tasty eateries and the beach. It's safe, quiet, and has everything you'll need. It's a killer hill to walk up after a few margaritas though.

We had a great time at Casa Maria, located ideally in the Zona Romántica, near the beach, the Malecón and a lot of good restaurants. Smack in the middle of everything, it still offered quiet respite from the activity all around. Great, very helpful staff and comfortable, modest room. Would definitely return.

Super cute boutique hotel 1½ blocks from the beach in the heart of Zona Romantica. I really can't say enough good about this place: the staff is so kind helpful and fun, the location in the Zona is superb, the decor is beautiful fun and vibrant, the pool and courtyard are spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained just like the rooms... we absolutely loved our stay and plan to go back just like you will if you go. My only caution would be for people with mobility issues, if you're familiar with PV you know there are areas that get very steep and the sidewalk in front of the hotel has some pretty steep stairs so be aware of that if it could be a concern for you.

Stayed for two weeks. Extremely friendly staff. Very clean. About a 5 min walk to the pier on the beach, and if you take the stairs short cut, it is only 10 mins to get to the popular streets with good restaurants and lgbt bars. I would stay here again! Tips: If you have a mobility issue, this hotel and area in general could be tricky for you. This hotel is small, and you really get to know the staff which was really nice! However, they don’t have someone working after 10, so if you are looking for 24 hour front desk service, not the place for you.

The place is in the middle of everything restaurants, bars, Oxxo, farmacias a block from the beach. The best part of it is the employees they are welcoming, they care you have a great stay. With the exception of one of them. But it wasn’t bad enough to spoil the stay. Highly recommend it

The property was beautifully maintained, tidy, and quite scenic. The staff were both friendly and professional. However, it's important to note that the location may not be suitable for those who have difficulty with stairs, as it is situated on a steep street with numerous steps. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Me encantó! Loved the staff, loved the vibe, and loved the proximity to everything around PV. Literally can walk everywhere. It is on a steep hill (with stairs available), so not ideal for those that may struggle with that, but otherwise, fantastic. Ava, the bar tender is fantastic!!!! This hotel is a quiet and cool oasis in the busy Zona Romantica in PV. The pool is surrounded by ground level rooms and the bar, which is super convenient, and is decorated with very bright painting. The rooms are a bit older, but are well maintained and very clean. The area is right in the middle of Zona Romanitca, the LGBTQ friendly / old town of PV, and you are a stones thrown from many great restaurants and the beach. Ava the bartender is friendly and nice to spend some time with, and the bar has great guac!

El desayuno no es bueno. No hay queso, mantequilla de mala calidad, y el huelvo revuelto es seco, sin sabor, como si fuera hecho en máquina. El jugo e yogurt son artificial tambien. Sin embargo, la recâmara es buena y la equipe excelente. La ubicacion perfecta.

Casa Maria is situated within a short walking distance to the beach, excellent and countless restaurants for all dining tastes. The hotel is clean and safe, with excellent and friendly staff. Our booking included breakfast which was really lacking. There were a few slices of fruit and once slice of dried toast. For a county that has such a variety of tropical fruit, a variety of fruits should have been offered along with healthy options.
