I got a suite that was spacious,,comfortable and had two balconies. One Juliet balcony and one larger one with seating. The rooptop was pretty nice. The pool was pretty but on the small side. Friendly staff. Complimentary continental breakfast. The few cons — shower head needs replacing/upgrading — a rainfall style one would be amazing. More kids on the property than I would have liked. A little noisy some of the nights we were there — from the street outside the hotel. Overall, though, I’d stay again. Reasonably priced, too.

The property is quaint, quiet, and the open space was as beautiful as pictured. It was on a little pedestrian street adjacent to Avineda Quinta shopping region. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, our unit needed some caulk and paint, and a little maintenance to toilet. The major problem was that the the elevator didn\'t work and we were on the 4th floor! Getting to the place was also a little tricky because google maps kept telling us to turn left onto a street that has barricades and signs saying \'No Cars, trucks, motorcycles. Pedestrians Only". We had to ask the valets at another property for directions and get some local knowledge to figure out where to go. We were told that the sign and barricade were strong suggestions but could be moved to get to the Hotel. After that it was easy to get to.

Loved the location - close to ocean, 5th ave, restaurants, shops and grocery/supplies. Free parking in underground lot. Very nice staff- especially the gentleman who works overnight. Aircon had a hard time keeping up with heat. Not terrible but not great. Room well appointed. Indoor pool is very small. Our penthouse room did not have great view of ocean from room but we did have a roof top patio with great view via a spiral stairs next to room. Continental breakfast was ok. Not the fault of hotel but electric power went out twice in 2 days (8 hours then 5 hours) which of course means no aircon, elevator, lights, etc. hotel does NOT have a back-up generator or flashlights, lanterns, etc. . Some of the beach areas had an unpleasant odor (rotting seaweed/ fish/ sewer). We were advised by friend's who live in area to NOT trust local water- always use bottled water for drinking, ice, teeth brushing, etc. Would return to this property if we came back to PDC … but we’d bring a flashlight.

We were so impressed with our stay at Acanto!! This boutique hotel is beautiful, prestine, unique and peaceful considering it is in the heart of 5th Avenue and a few minute walk to the beach. The rooftop patio has an amazing ocean view and bbq - eating and lounging area. The pool is situated in the middle of the open sky courtyard and very clean. The staff were very friendly, the included breakfast was perfect, the suite had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We felt very safe - the doors are locked at night but staff there to let you in at any time of night. The shopping, bars, restaurants, beach clubs, beach - everything you come to Mexico for was right there at our fingertips. We will definitely return! Highly recommend!!

Truly enchanting, this smaller and more intimate hotel proved to be an excellent choice. The suites are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and tasteful decor. A reasonably stocked kitchen with a full size fridge and stovetop. Staff are wonderful and quick to please. Just steps from 5th avenue it was remarkably quiet and calm. Walk to the beach or enjoy the pool in the courtyard. The rooftop patio has a bar-b-que, tables and chairs, loungers and a fantastic view of the ocean. And there is always a cool breeze. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

The property was centrally located and was indeed a very quiet and hotel. In addition, we felt very safe during our stay. We were about 5 minutes walking distance to the nearby grocery store which was the Mega Soriana. Our housekeeper Letty was always checking in on us to ensure that we had towels and our room kept. Miguel was so amazing throughout our stay. We did have 1 hiccup as we were on the 4th floor as the elevators were not operable. However, they were fixing them during our stay. We asked to be moved to the 1st floor and were moved immediately. I also high recommend the hotels transportation recommendations of Riviera Quest private transportation with Luis. Luis was very responsive and prompt from picking us from arrival and departure to airport. The price is extremely reasonable as we did shop around. I highly recommend Luis' services!! Overall, great experience and the hotel is so cute and homey.

The facility is not functioning properly. In room tap water and shower water flow are very small Shower water is cold and intermittent Toilet water is leaking and makes loud leaking water noise. Asked front desk to repair but didn't fix Bed sheets and blanket are very old and thin. Almost no furniture in room. No place to sit down or put down bags No coffee machine or water heater. No coffee or tea. Only 2 small bottles of drinking water (about 200 ml each) No elevator. You climb stairs to 3rd or 4th floor. Near bars. You can hear music from bars after midnight

I had such a great stay here and will definitely stay again! The room was very spacious and super clean, strong wifi connection during my stay, and the hotel itself is so close to everything. The staff are so lovely, very friendly and always offering to help. The only thing to note is it can get noisy at night due to the location of the hotel.

Staff and service were excellent. They tried very hard to accommodate us. Property is outdated. Room smelled moldy and noisy. They changed us to another room but the AC didn’t work so we changed back to the room facing the street. We were told by 11pm noise should be reduced but it wasn’t the case. The noise from the night club went on until around 5pm. It wasn’t worth the price we paid. We could’ve gotten better hotel for less.

The initial room we were given when we checked in late in the day, wasn't great. It was rather small, felt unkept and the bathroom had water pressure issues. When we brought up the issues to the management, they were happy to make the switch the next day and gave us the free upgrade to a suite. Which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Laura- one of the manager was very accomodating and all the hotel staffs were helpful and friendly. Acanto felt like home during our stay!

Located in the heart of the action. Lots of restaurants and shops. Hotel is well maintained and house keeping does an excellent job. Friendly staff at the front desk. Shout out to Miguel for his happy and friendly attitude. His continental breakfasts are the best. The freshest fruits and different breakfast items are set up daily.

Beautiful rooms. 1, 2 & 3 Bedroom options. Great location. 1/2 of a block from 5th street, yet quiet. Excellent staff. Free parking. Have stayed many times and plan on staying again whenever in Playa Del Carmen with friends.

We had a one bedroom apartment which was clean and spacious. We had a few problems with the shower and toilet which the maintenance staff addressed, but it still was a bit of a problem. The staff were only too happy to help out with information on where to shop for supplies, restaurants and transportation. Unfortunately, the beach was a bit of a disappointment. There is a constant seaweed problem that they are trying desperately to keep clean. Watch out for the service charges for the beach clubs. They charge 500 Mx or $30 USD per person fee plus charges for your drinks and food. We had 2 drinks each plus 2 appetizers and it cost us $90USD. There is NO notice telling you this until the present the bill.

Location was great, room was super quiet. The bed was too hard for my taste and the location of the AC vent was poorly planned as it would blow in my face all night. Staff was nice, even when the water went out for several hours.

The room had a few problems such as the shower pressure, leaking sink, living room tv had not volume. The property is cute, but if you’re like me, you probably won’t like the noisy bed sheets. The breakfast consists of boiled eggs and coffee, some individual cereal boxes and toast. The night guy Miguel was the best worker at the property.

I am really surprised that Wyndham would put their name on this hotel. The rooms are tiny. The faucet in the bathroom does not align properly with the sink making it almost impossible to use without getting the counter all wet. I could hear loud music until 4am, and what sounded like a pump cycling every 3-5 minutes all night long. It was so loud it would wake me up even after I managed to get to sleep. The shower was impossible to turn on without getting blasted with cold water. The front doors are windows that look right in to the bed. The only reason why I am not giving it one star is because the night security guard is super nice and helpful.

I could hear loud music until 4am, and what sounded like a pump cycling every 3-5 minutes all night long. It was so loud it would wake me up even after I managed to get to sleep. The shower was impossible to turn on without getting blasted with cold water. The front doors are windows that look right in to the bed. The only reason why I am not giving it one star is because the night security guard is super nice and helpful.

Truly enchanting, this smaller and more intimate hotel proved to be an excellent choice. The suites are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and tasteful decor. A reasonably stocked kitchen with a full size fridge and stovetop. Staff are wonderful and quick to please. Just steps from 5th avenue it was remarkably quiet and calm. Walk to the beach or enjoy the pool in the courtyard. The rooftop patio has a bar-b-que, tables and chairs, loungers and a fantastic view of the ocean. And there is always a cool breeze. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Great location in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Convenient to beaches, shopping, and restaurants. The two bedroom suite was spacious and comfortable, and the courtyard/pool area was lovely. The property manager Luis went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a pleasant one, and the receptionist Liliana was very helpful in making beach club and dining reservations. We very much enjoyed our stay!

The initial room we were given when we checked in late in the day, wasn't great. It was rather small, felt unkept and the bathroom had water pressure issues. When we brought up the issues to the management, they were happy to make the switch the next day and gave us the free upgrade to a suite. Which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Laura- one of the manager was very accomodating and all the hotel staffs were helpful and friendly. Acanto felt like home during our stay!

The property was centrally located and was indeed a very quiet and hotel. In addition, we felt very safe during our stay. We were about 5 minutes walking distance to the nearby grocery store which was the Mega Soriana. Our housekeeper Letty was always checking in on us to ensure that we had towels and our room kept. Miguel was so amazing throughout our stay. We did have 1 hiccup as we were on the 4th floor as the elevators were not operable. However, they were fixing them during our stay. We asked to be moved to the 1st floor and were moved immediately. I also high recommend the hotels transportation recommendations of Riviera Quest private transportation with Luis. Luis was very responsive and prompt from picking us from arrival and departure to airport. The price is extremely reasonable as we did shop around. I highly recommend Luis' services!! Overall, great experience and the hotel is so cute and homey.

I got a suite that was spacious,,comfortable and had two balconies. One Juliet balcony and one larger one with seating. The rooptop was pretty nice. The pool was pretty but on the small side. Friendly staff. Complimentary continental breakfast. The few cons — shower head needs replacing/upgrading — a rainfall style one would be amazing. More kids on the property than I would have liked. A little noisy some of the nights we were there — from the street outside the hotel. Overall, though, I’d stay again. Reasonably priced, too.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They even gave me a bottle of wine surprise for my birthday. The elevator was broken and it was hard to keep walking up and down 3 flights of stairs. The free breakfast was very nice with fresh fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, toast and other breads, yoghurt.

The room had a few problems such as the shower pressure, leaking sink, living room tv had not volume. The property is cute, but if you’re like me, you probably won’t like the noisy bed sheets. We were so impressed with our stay at Acanto!! This boutique hotel is beautiful, prestine, unique and peaceful considering it is in the heart of 5th Avenue and a few minute walk to the beach. The rooftop patio has an amazing ocean view and bbq - eating and lounging area. The pool is situated in the middle of the open sky courtyard and very clean. The staff were very friendly, the included breakfast was perfect, the suite had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We felt very safe - the doors are locked at night but staff there to let you in at any time of night. The shopping, bars, restaurants, beach clubs, beach - everything you come to Mexico for was right there at our fingertips. We will definitely return! Highly recommend!!

The staff go above and beyond to make your stay worry free. They arranged transport for the airport and they also arranged a special dinner for a birthday celebration. They have so much to offer as far as dinners, beach clubs and more. This was our second time staying for 10 days and it won’t be our last. We requested the same room #8 which was so perfect for a couple. The hotel is very clean and they provide a nice little breakfast that will hit the spot and get you going for the day.
