Overall, the hotel is nice. A little dated. There was a lot of construction going on at the time of our visit. This resulted in some property amenities being unavailable. The kids water playground was under construction. There are also a lot of raccoon like animals that will come poolside and steal your food and drinks. The animals were not aggressive, but definitely an annoyance. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very friendly.

This property has beautiful grounds that are well maintained. There are multiple swimming pools that are kept crystal clear. All staff we encountered were both friendly and always happy to help. There is a lot of walking but we enjoyed that. For those who don’t, the property does offer shuttle services. There are a nice variety of dining options and there seems to be a bar around every corner. They also offer different shows each night and there are even activities to participate in during the day. This was our first trip here and we’d love to return!

Property was very well maintained. Grounds were beautiful and very well designed. Accommodations were comfortable, food was excellent as well as the service. Many options for pools and bars. Excellent hotel.

great property- Unfortunately there was a lot of reservation and the gym location was changed half way into the stay - because of renovation. There was no notification of this prior to travel and during the travel. along the shore of the beach- there is a lot of rocks and seaweed- even when you walk 10 feet into the water- there is a lot of rocks. Its best to bring beach shoes to enjoy. The french restaurant on the resort is not that good. Besides those experiences, the resort and the employees are amazing and provided top not services. Overall I was very pleased and happy to celebrate my birthday there.

Amazing for families or travellers who want a little bit of everything. Sections of the resort were loud and entertaining. Other sections were quiet and relaxing. Our room had a light out and a leak from the air conditioner. Both were fixed quickly. Beach was really nice with soft sand. The ocean was rocky and hard for walking in the shallow area of the water. The grounds are huge but really nice and easy to walk around. They could use more internal shuttles for people wanted me to get around quicker.

First of all, the staff at the restaurants are amazing! When it comes to food, the two buffet restaurants offer a wide variety of options, and there are also several à la carte restaurants, but reservations need to be made at least two days in advance. The food overall is excellent. I stayed near the pool restaurants, which are a bit far from the lobby and buffet restaurants but conveniently close to the beach and pool bar. The best part is the 24-hour sports bar, which offers a great selection of cocktails along with snacks. Overall, a fantastic experience

We had an overall great stay. The food was fresh and enjoyable, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. However, there were a few areas that took away from the experience. The beach could have been better maintained, as there were sandbag type materials protruding through the sand in several areas, particularly around the lifeguard tower, which was an eyesore. The shuttle system was also frustrating, with long wait times that often left us walking long distances across the resort, which became tiring. We were also disappointed to find the sports facility closed on Sunday. We had planned to play sports with friends and traveled quite a distance to get there, only to learn it was closed, and this was not communicated to us in advance. Additionally, we were not informed ahead of time that construction was taking place across much of the resort and that some restaurants were closed, which was disappointing. Despite these challenges, the resort itself is beautiful, and we were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of wildlife throughout the property.

Big resort. Many pools and bars. Spacious and nicely laid out with many areas to enjoy relaxing or being in with the crowd. The chill out is a beautiful space to dine but really expensive for the food itself. Basically paying for ambience. Same with a la carte restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed and comfortable during the entire stay. Will consider coming back!

They cleaned the grounds and pools daily.

5 nights 6 days, arrived on Friday. No reservations for restaurants that require reservations on weekends. The buffet menu is always the same. I have never felt that the staff was friendly. The hotel room is not clean. The pillows are sweaty and smell like rags, so they have to be changed several times. There is mold on the bed sheets.

The buffet is always the same food and the same desserts, and there's nothing to change. The pool is generally unclean, with animal droppings and bugs floating around. The pillows smelled like sweat and rags, and they changed them several times. The bed sheets were moldy. They didn't change the bed sheets even though they cleaned them every day.

The hotel all inclusive. But it’s hard to find food for lunch if you don’t want to change the swimsuit. Some days it were no options at all. Super swimming pools. Really clean property with cute wildlife animals .

The outside property is beautiful and well kept. The rooms were clean but had a sewer smell constantly. We booked a swim up suite with a king bed and we received two double beds pushed together. Our swim up was nice but the water loungers and stairs could use new tiles or a good scrubbing. The loungers had algae growing between cracks. The buffet was always clean and staff were great and attentive to our needs. The quality of the food could be better. I felt the meat tasted like meat glue and the dessert wasn’t good at all. This resort had a beautiful property but most likely won’t be staying here again.

Wish the pool could have been cleaner

El hotel es muy grande por lo que hay carritos que te llevan pero nunca pasaban y teniamos que caminar, la limpieza de los cuartos nunca la hicieron bien, solo tendian la cama y no bien, todo el lugar huele a humedad, la comida de los buffet malisima y nada variada, los tragos los hacen con alcohol del mas corriente y si les pides otro como Bacardi se enojan y lo peor si no eres extranjero y traes dollares no hay quien te haga caso.Muy decepcionada.

Not good food and not clean

Great Stay with a Few Minor Downsides We had a great experience at this hotel and would recommend it as a solid option for a vacation. The exterior cleanliness was excellent, and the surrounding environment was well-maintained. However, the rooms felt a bit outdated, as the hotel hasn’t been renovated in a while, which slightly affected the overall interior cleanliness. The buffet food was good, but it didn’t particularly excite us. That said, the hotel offered a peaceful landscape, plenty of fun activities, and interesting events that made our stay enjoyable. Overall, a great place to relax and unwind!

Good people, good service. The food is worse than half year prior, any soups are very spicy, no salt in food and on the tables. Too noisy in the buffet, no wheat bread. ALso too much coaty, they are sleeping on the night on balcony in the chairs and poo on the floor, make noisy, and taking all trash from the trash cans. We've was tri times in your resort in 1.5 year but will be not coming again because the animal's restroom on the balcony is not what we've expected for us vacations. Also, before the room will be ready for your customers need to check: what is does not working. I don't need to call to plumbing, electric, manager. etc. to fix a lot of the small problems.

I would have given 5 stars, but most of the amenities were closed due to renovation of Grand Riviera Princess, for example I booked the hydrotherapy on the app. When i arrived for the appointment, I was told they dont monitor the app because the pool is closed. I would have appreciated knowing that part of the resort was closed. All in all, we had a great vacation and will probably return next year.

The staff at this resort was excellent. It made my stay worth it. The rooms could use major upgrades, all of them. This is an older resort so I would say for an older resort it was ok. I enjoyed most food, but could have more variety. Overall if youre on a budget and you want to travel with people this is an affordable all inclusive. The bus was amazing! We never waited long.

I love the new updated rooms they were clean. Staff was amazing. The poor area was good. It wasn’t crowded. They had good music playing.

The property is a very good value. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are basic and slightly dated but clean and well kept. The in room alcohol is lacking (only Corona, water and a couple sodas). My biggest complaint is that there are no snacks in the room and room service is not included with the basic room rate. I would recommend for a quick economic get away.

Had amazing time! Need updates to room beds and TVs. Swim out should be less shaded or water should be heated in certain areas.

This property is absolutely gorgeous and large. There are so many swimming pools and lounge chairs. The swim out rooms are fantastic. The only downside being the food wasn’t all fantastic, some of the al a Cartes were not worth your time (aka the Miso Oriental Thai) and overall things are just starting to get old and run down in places BUT they are starting renovations in May so that will soon change. Some staff were excellent, others seemed inconvenienced to provide service. All in all it was great value for the money and I would recommend it/go there again in the future.

This property was fabulous! Rooms were a bit older but the beautiful landscaping and wildlife was breathtaking.

I’ve visited this resort many times in the past when my kids were younger. It is still very nice and it’s the same as I remember. I had a swim out room which was nice with the exception of the sun shining down on that particular area. The rooms are the same.i only wish they could upgrade the TV size. It’s very small for such a large room. Food was just ok. The specialty restaurants are very nice though ( they are included with your stay)

Upon arrival, the room we booked wasn't the one we got. DO NOT waste your money upgrading through Expedia!!! I payed $40 extra per night to get a king size bed. The only area they had this available on the website was in the family section and when we checked in they told me I couldn't get one because there wasn't any available for that area. So we had to pay again for the upgrade at the resort. ughhh Also there was wads of hair stuck to the shower walls and the vanity was sticky with something smeared on it. The amenities they told us they would give us with the upgrade were not much and not worth the extra$. If you are afraid of wild animals, this might not be the resort for you. There are Coati's everywhere scavenging for food. Keep your patio door locked because they know how to open them. Also the bell hop never showed up at 6:10 am to bring us to the shuttle so we had to practically run because where our room was located it is easily a 15 minute walk to the front and that's without lugging suitcases. The resort was beautiful and there was plenty of pool and food options, but I think that out of the 9 pools they offer, they should designate one for adults only. They had top shelf liquor which you rarely see at resorts.

I must say that Norma and Johnny made this trip amazing. The best hosts i have ever experienced. The other staff was also very good especially the concierge desk. I misplaced my backpack with our passport in it and they had found it in 20 minutes and i had no idea where it was. (I thought someone may have taken it by accident or not) but those two were insanely helpful and kind and becsuse of this we will be certainly coming back to this resort. Food was pretty good and the room service alfredo was surprisingly delicious. I would recommend upgrading to the platinum. Very peaceful and sitting on the deck hungover in a jacuzzi is quite nice if you are older and can't handle it like you once could.

For the price was a bad experience, they charge you for premium wifi, first time we ever have yo pay for having wifi, some of the staff were super rude, one of the days that we were there all the employees went on strike for the all day and we didn’t have room services for 2 days which we pay extra for room service and premium drinks, which we didn’t had and when the staff when on strike only one restaurant was working for all the guest there and food was poor, phones in our room wasn’t working for 2 days the bathtub also didn’t work at the beginning overall was a really bad experience, service and we did g event get compensation for the days that the staff wasn’t working, very bad everything,

Honest review; the property itself is huge, a lot of walking and beautiful scenery. The greenery was just beautiful. The rooms were outdated but overall nice! The pools were also great just the issue of people leaving their mess behind. The issues here are that they are understaffed so it’s difficult for them to attend customers in a timely manner. You’ll be waiting on drinks for a long time. Same when it comes to the buffets. It seems they don’t have enough people to attend everyone. Some of the staff was rude and condescending when asking for help. The food was okay, nothing to brag about. It’s something you’d expect at a military dining facility. We did upgrade to the platinum and liquor was subpar. We expected this to be better than a RIU Palace but I can assure you it is not. Not even close. We can say that this would not be a property i would recommend to anyone. Not until they fix the issue of understaffing, rudeness from staff, better food, and better liquor included for all their guest.

Did not acknowledge my expedia reservation they made me pay again when I got there had me wait 4 hours after being up for 15 hours horrible service awful place food is horrible I never leave a review but people have to know it’s a scam they charged me 2600$ more when I arrived

Everything was great besides some of the staff, they were not friendly or helpful. One told me that he couldnt give me a towel becasue security would take it from me, then the bellboy got me a towel and I was able to leave and return with it. Also the night staff in the bar under the lobby are not very friendly, seemed like they didnt want to serve anyone or even be there. The food was horrible! I had to leave the resort to eat almost all meals.Please fix this.

This was our 5th trip to this property. We always stay in the Laguna Villa Suites. The service was absolutely amazing. Niecy, Luis and Abraham at the pool were unbelievably attentive and kind. This is the second time we have had them as our service team, and they do not disappoint. Rene' was our concierge, he was also our concierge on our first visit. We were so happy to see him again, as he has always been our favorite. He is exceptional. He acts the way a true concierge does, cares about how your stay is going, asks how you are doing every day, comes to the cabana to see if there is anything you need, and in general, is just so sweet. We cannot praise these people enough. I hope if you are reading this, you are lucky enough to have them as your team when you visit. The property itself is going to be headed into a massive renovation starting NOW. Just a heads up. They were already starting work on the Villas and were going to start at the Chill Out. There may be some noise and places that are closed. It is a gorgeous property. The foliage is beautiful, the coati's are very cute, the monkey are still "hanging" around, and the deer are quite used to people. The food was much improved on this visit, and we enjoy the free room service that is associated with the Villas. We will be back for a 6th stay once the renovations are complete.

Overall we had a wonderful time! My partner and I were there for 2 weeks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was huge which we liked as there was lots of options and things to do. If you want a quieter pool, they have it. If you want the party pools they have that too. The beach is beautiful and there is lots of lawn chairs to select from. Food was great! The buffets were clean. The restaurants were great and staff were always professional and friendly. Our favourite was the teppanyaki! Our only negative thing was the coatis animals. They were everywhere! At first they’re cute but when they are stealing food and drinks from people and breaking into your room it gets to be annoying. Hard to relax when you have these things coming at you every where.

We had the most incredible vacation, this property is an absolute dream, its very clean, staff is super attentive and very friendly. They clean the beach every morning to assure everything is perfect for their guest, we loved all the dinning options, you do have to make a reservation ahead but its very worth it. We had breakfast at the buffet every morning, little snacks and finger foods at the platinum lobby with some drinks after swimming. Make sure that if you get the platinum, you taje advantage of your free spa day, we felt so pampered and luxurious every singke day. Alwats tip your staff and be polite to them! We saw a few people being rude and impatient, we are all here on vacation to relax, wait your turn and be nice, the staff is always willing to solve any issues. They speak broken english so be soft spoken, speak slow and clear, i promise you, the staff will make your experience 100x better. The property offers shuttles that take you on a shopping tour and shuttles that will take you to Playa del Carmen 5th Avenue, but be ready to be bombarded with street vendors trying to sell you stuff they're very pushy and some if them touchy, my advise is, if you dont want to deal with this , stay in the resort , the property offers many little shops and have a little market on Thursday nights that make shopping easier that going out. We want to shout out Rodolfo at La Hacienda, he was incredibly nice, so welcoming and made our dinning experience feel luxurious! Thank you all!

Gorgeous scenery and landscaping. The room was a little outdated and you could hear everything in the hallway. Food was okay, not great but not bad either. Lots of options for vegetarians. The staff were really nice and accommodating. Overall a great stay. The pools are nice and the beach is well maintained.

I like that you could take a golf cart around the entire property and out to the beach. The lounge chair is on the beach were comfortable to lay in, but be careful of the rocks on the ocean floor as those are quite hard to get around to get out to where you can actually swim.

The hotel and staff were great and the food was very good, even the buffets were better than average. Only downsides no shuttle service for non-platinum guests and I had selected an ocean view room and they had none to offer! Swear i paid more too! The front desk lady (Amina?) managed to get me an upper floor king suite though which was very nice. Oh and they were lacking decent entertainment.

The property was very nice. The rooms were great food was ok. Taco bar was great. Didnt like the reservations for dinner. Made a resevation one night for 8 of us they only put 6 down and would not change it at the restaurant so we didnt eat there. For an all inclusive we had to pay for a lot of upgrades and had to buy a bottle of wine to get in to the hibachi restaurant. Not sure i would go back because for all inclusive it definitely was not.

The staff was great and we loved the resort overall but some of the food was about a 6/10. I wish they put some more effort in the flavor of the resort food. Mainly buffet options which were about a 4/10.

The resort itself is pretty. The beach had a lot of seaweed. The food is terrible. We have been to a lot of all inclusives and this was the worst by far. We went and ate in town. The beds were awful. The bedding was basic and the blankets were rough and scratchy. They had a guy walking around with a gas leaf blower all day long. Starting early in the morning and continued all day. Totally kills the relaxation vibe.

Fantastic service and the property is stunning! Buffet is mediocre but you’d expect that from an all inclusive however the a la carte dining was phenomenal. Genuinely some of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The beach and pool areas are stunning and the overall resort is breathtaking! I definitely recommend, will be returning!

The construction was one of the down sides. Otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good. Staff at the smaller buffet was the best. The restaurants by reservation were ok, we ended up leaving two of them and going to the buffet as the food was not better in the restaurants.

It was a great holiday — we would definitely come back to this resort. The food was excellent and varied. The hotel entertainment was also good and interesting. My family (my wife, our three kids, and I) really enjoyed our spring break here. However, we were disappointed that the sun loungers on the beach (especially in the first and second rows) were always occupied. People would run to the beach early in the morning before breakfast to reserve a lounger by placing a towel, hat, or something else on it, and then leave for other activities. As a result, there weren’t many people actually on the beach, but it was still difficult to find a free sun lounger.
