L’appartement est super, fidèle aux photos, grand, propre et le site est enchanteur. Il y a une réception pour l’accueil, donc très facile et un bon déjeuner servi le matin inclut avec les frais. Les seuls bémols sont que les employés ne parlent que très peu en anglais, donc il faut se débrouiller un peu en espagnol pour échanger et sinon c’est seulement le gym qui est désuet. Pour accéder, il faut s’attendre à emprunter des routes non pavées, c’est donc un peu bruyant et poussiéreux, par contre il y a plusieurs restaurants et bars très charmants à distance de marche, vraiment un bel endroit à découvrir!

Very calm and relaxing environment. Gym available. Front desk always available and helpful. Location is perfect, tucked in a neighborhood but so close to everything you want. Only issue was the bikes on property were unusable and first motorbike we rented had a flat tire and we almost crashed multiple times but someone came to help service us within 15min of calling.

The staff is very friendly, i felt safe leaving my belongs at the room. The pool was too cold to bathe

Loved staying here it was SUPER convenient. Right next to the main strip in La Veleta, a nice cheap and delicious taco stand, full kitchen, quiet, convenient. The only thing missing was if the pool got some sun :( then it would be PERFECT! Still would stay again :)

The architecture and design of this property is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, the pool/ walkway area was unswept and dirty appearing all 4 days of our stay. There is construction going on across the road which caused a lot of noise. Local children were swimming in the pool all days of our stay wearing regular clothing which wasn’t super relaxing when you are trying to chill by the pool. The property does give you access to free bikes to use - which are in very very rough shape. We had to stop and pay to have tires inflated. There are mopeds for rent, 42$ USD for 24h which was convenient and fun. Would definitely not recommend taking a local taxi - pricing is insane!! Highly recommend Ki’Bok coffee and Taco Bish - both within walking distance.

Property is located in great location with parking provided. There is tons of construction in front of the hotel and around so it is noisy but this is the case for most of Tulum right now.

Résidence appart hôtel, petit déjeuner très/trop simple inclu - on recommande de le prendre ailleurs. Par contre grande chambre, grande salle de bain - le tout très confortable. Pas trop éloigné du centre ville (5min en voiture), avec un parking. Salle de sport et piscine extérieure très belle.

The room was very dusty. The floor was filthy. I had to ask for a cloth to wipe down the furniture. The breakfast area didn’t have much condiments like syrup for example. There were ants crawling all along the space. Not very sanitary. Pool was not clean so we didn’t end up going in. There is construction all around the building. No fresh air was available due to windows being screwed shut. Barely any hot water in the shower. The room looks good in photos, lacking in person.

Lugar viejo y descuidado. El plafón en una esquina del baño roto. La regadera sucia y se le salía el agua por todos lados. El A/A hacia mucho ruido y estaba sucio. Olor a humedad en la habitación

Die Unterkunft bietet kostenlose Fahrräder an. Positiv ist noch, dass eine Straße weiter ein paar Restaurants sind. Wlan: das WI-FI der Unterkunft funktioniert super Check In: Check In war problemlos und zu jeder Uhrzeit möglich. Bei uns z.B. 2 Uhr morgens. Sauberkeit: Bettwäsche war bei der Ankunft dreckig. Sie wurde nach Nachfrage ausgewechselt, aber selbst die neue Bettwäsche war wieder befleckt. Handtücher waren befleckt, sie rochen zwar nach Waschmittel, wiesen aber deutliche Farbflecken auf, fast jedes Handtuch hatte Löcher. Mit den Handtüchern verhalten Sie sich sehr zurückhaltend. Es wurden immer weniger Handtücher (dreckige wurde genommen aber keine neuen nachgebracht). Frühstück: Das Frühstück ist die reinste Katastrophe. Darüber kann ich leider wirklich nichts positives sagen, da es das schlechteste Hotel Frühstück war, das ich jemals erlebt habe. Wir haben nach dem ersten Tag dann nur noch auswärts gefrühstückt. Pool: Der Pool hat mich nicht zum schwimmen überzeugt, da schwimmen einige Partikel auf dem Wasser und die Liegen sind nicht ansprechend, da sie verdreckt sind. Toilette: Dusche und Dusch-Tür waren stark verkalkt. Toilette roch manchmal unangenehm nach Gulli/Abfluss. Kein Fenster auf der Toilette aber ein Abzug.

The room was clean although the property could use some attention. In our three day stay we never saw one person in the pool. The breakfast was simple (eggs or waffles), powdered milk for the coffee & the just was Tang.

There was mold on walls in most of rooms

We stayed at the Luxury Apartment (Deck Garden Apartment w/ Private Pool), the room looked good at first but it actually is a little rundown and needs some maintenance or updates. The downside was that it seems to connect to the room next door with a wood sliding door, you could hear and smell everything happening next door, it didn’t feel private. The hotel staff is really good and responsive. The location is perfect between the tulum downtown and the beach, parking and great restaurants walking distance. Overall good experience, comfortable bed and room, the shared pool was great after a day exploring.

Hotel was cute, comfortable bed, clean and spacious. They helped bring luggage up the stairs which was very much appreciated. The hotel itself is very close to many restaurants and shopping downtown!

First of all, this property is beautiful. In the middle of Tulum neighborhoods I did not expect such a beautiful oasis. With its tall wood fences and stone walls the interior open courtyard with pool is a piece of paradise, hammocks over the pool, trees and hanging lights. We stayed in one of the ground floor penthouse units for only $215 US, it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, even a washing machine. It had a personal patio with hammock and small lounging pool. Couldn't believe the amount of space for the price. Free breakfast was provided in the morning, I cannot really judge its quality because it is the only hotel breakfast I had in Mexico, so I don't know what is standard. It was self serve from a bar with several options, the patio area we ate at was by the pool and very pleasant. Overall we were very impressed by the hotel, and would have enjoyed staying there longer.

Nice garden, nice room and confortable bed. The pool area is pretty nice as well BUT our room was separated from the only guest's one by a sliding door. You can hear everything, from the cell phone vibration to the whispering of the other guests. Even the light come through from the side and the bottom of the door. We shorted our stay. If intimacy and quietness matters, be advised.

Kudos to the photgrapher, makes this place look alot better than it is. The staff are lovely and welcoming, however the room was disappointing, there is no soundproofing, we could hear everything from next door, and i mean everything! The kitchenette had one plate, one mug, one glass, a spoon and a knife, like just dont bother if you’re not going to stock it properly. The lack of privacy on the decking area was also concerning.

Wir waren 12 Tage im Amaka Calma in der Penthouse Suite und waren hellauf begeistert. Die Wohnung ist großzügig geschnitten und hat wirklich alles, was man benötigt. Gut funktionierende Klimaanlagen in jedem Raum, in jedem Raum ein Smart-TV und in der Küche alles was man braucht. In Laufnähe gibt es viele gute Restaurants und Geschäfte. Das Viertel wird neu erschlossen und rund um das Hotel wird gebaut, was uns aber nicht gestört hat. Wir waren am Anfang skeptisch, weil wir einige negative Rezessionen gesehen hatten, aber nichts davon traf zu. Das Hotel stellt kostenlos gut funktionierende Fahrräder zur Verfügung, das Personal war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit! Es gibt einen Fitnessraum, eine Tischtennisplatte und einen Tischkicker. Am Pool kann man in Hängematten chillen und es ist schön grün und man wird jeden Morgen von Vogelgezwitscher geweckt.♥️❤️🧡 Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach, aber es gibt jeden Morgen frische Waffeln und leckeres Obst, in unmittelbarer Nähe sind auch gute Frühstückslokale. Wasser und Kaffee stehen immer zur Verfügung.Wir waren rundum zufrieden und würden wiederkommen. Danke an das Amaka Calma Team!🧡

Great hotel, welcoming lobby, really beautiful. However, telling us the room next door would only be separated by a sliding door would have been appreciated, we didn't felt we were in a private suite.

The staff was super attentive and nice!! We left very early and one of the staff walking towards our building saw us on the 2nd floor with our luggages and came right up to help us bring them down. Check-in was easy along with check-out. Our room was private, spacious (had a mini kitchen/ living room), and very clean.

The front desk staff was amazing, the room was beautiful, the pool was so relaxing and gorgeous. We intentionally asked them not to clean our room since it was such a short trip. They surprised me for my birthday was balloons and cake in the room, which was so thoughtful. But while cleaning the room to set up the balloons, my AirPods were stolen off the night stand. I used the find my AirPods feature on my phone to locate them, 15 minutes away in an apartment complex. I should have put them in the safe, but I assumed that no one would be in the room since we didn’t ask to have it cleaned. They said all we could do was file a report with the police, but we were flying out early the next morning and needed to go to sleep. Very sad by the theft as the stay otherwise was wonderful.

We had a terrible experience staying at the Amaka Calma Riviera Tulum. In short, someone snuck into our room and stole our electronics within an hour of our checkin, while we were reading at the hotel pool. We reported this immediately to hotel management, but they were not only dismissive and unhelpful, but in our moment of feeling violated and stressed, had the gall to insinuate that we were making up what had happened. When we told them to call the police to report a theft, they refused. They claimed the police wouldn't come. (The police said this explanation was utterlyfalse when we went to the prosecutor's office to file a complaint ourselves.) The speed with which our room was burgled after our checkin is alarming. Like how would someone know which room had a new guest and when we were momentarily out of the room? It raises the frightening specter of it having been an inside job. But for the moment, I will give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and assume it was an unlucky incident. Nevertheless, at the very least, their security is terrible and their horrendous service will give you no comfort if something unfortunate happens. I strongly advise not staying at this property. Expedia ended up assisting us with a refund (the hotel, of course, refused to offer one and was going to make us stay in the burgled room) and we relocated immediately to another similarly priced establishment (Naay Boutique), which was absolutely wonderful with friendly and attentive staff.

The staff and this hotel are truly wonderful. Canadlero is especially very helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and have stayed here twice for over 2 weeks each time. Don't listen to the review's that are bad as they are just complainers and probably complain everywhere they stay. All the staff are trying there very best to make your stay as great as possible. Beautiful place and highly recommend. For the price and what you get it is very reasonable.

Had a great stay here! The property is beautiful and the rooms were great. I loved having the apartment with the kitchen. There was plenty of local markets to be able to get food and make in the kitchen which had all the amenities. The were plenty of places to visit around the property. It was also just far enough away from the main strip to where it wasn’t too loud with street traffic. They also had bikes and scooters to rent. Which unfortunately I didn’t take advantage of but I do appreciate that if I needed them they were there. The staff was great. Super pleasant and even helped us set up cabs for us to get to our excursions. They also had amazing communication before our stay and helped us set up transportation back and forth from the hotel from the airport. We had a great stay at Amaka and would stay again if we come back to Tulum. Thank you for the great stay!

A really pleasant stay with lovely staff.

The property was good, however, in terms of customer service and helping you with reservation changes zero stars. They had no empathy for our circumstances or willing to refund us for the nights we couldn’t use due to flight delays and notice well in advance.

Amaka Calma is a great property in a developing and diverse neighborhood of Tulum. Apartments are spacious, well furnished with great working A/C. It is within easy walking distance (2-5 minutes) to several restaurants, coffee and smoothie bars, shops, pharmacy, and coworking spaces. Please keep in mind the surrounding roads are not yet paved but are walkable and just take some care when driving. The on-site parking was very convenient if you have a car. Wifi was good for phone and light email, but I used local coworking space for heavier work on my laptop as I was working remotely during my trip. Staff were all very nice and helpful - thank you!

Cet hôtel est parfait surtout pour les gens qui aiment marcher (se trouve à 2 km du centre-ville), qui aiment faire du vélo (l’hôtel prête des vélos et il se trouve à 7 km de la plage) et qui adorent le calme et la quiétude! Personnel adorable et aux petits soins!

Great stay in the heart of Tulum. Walkable to everything you need.

I was walking distance away from a block of restaurants and clothing, stores and local supermarkets and I was about 15 minutes from the beach downtown tourist area. The taxis were the only thing they were expensive.

Good quiet area with lots of dining and shopping outings in walking distance. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Loved the location of this hotel. Restaurants were 1 block away and easy access to pharmacies and small market. We felt very safe.

It was a good stay, it is worth the price has I expected for a 3 star hotel, very sympathetic people who work there, many very good restaurants coffee close by, if I have to go back to Tulum I will consider it for staying again

The area felt very safe and walkable, lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. The hotel was very chic, calm and we had a great time here. The plug in the bathroom didn’t work which was quite annoying as we couldn’t get ready in front of the mirror. Otherwise, great hotel! If you want to spend a lot of time in the hotel zone or at the beaches, maybe stay closer to the beach because we spent a crazy amount on taxi fees. Anyway, lovely hotel, safe area, and beautiful balcony!

Das Hotel ist für einen Urlaub in Tulum ideal. Die Nähe zum Zentrum und den Stränden bietet eine ideale Ausgangslage. Die Zimmer sind sauber. Nur die Auswahl des Frühstücks wird nach 5 Tagen etwas eintönig…

The property itself was absolutely charming with a boho feel and charm. The stay came with breakfast but everyday we went down for breakfast they were out of food and coffee. The room was charming and spacious with basic needs covered. The bedroom light in my bedroom stopped working so I informed the front desk person and it’s still not working. The pool was lovely but the noise from construction across the street was unbearably loud so our swims were limited. Also know the walls are thin so you’ll hear your neighbors so bring ear plugs. I’d still recommend this place overall especially for the price.

Our stay here for 2 weeks was truly wonderful. The staff are very friendly and are helpful at all times. The free breakfast was also very lovely. We would definitely stay here again when coming back to Mexico. They also have bikes you can use and a scooter you can rent. Also if you want to rent a quad just ask the front desk and they will assist you. Great location. 10 minute scooter ride to the public beach. They are affiliated with Ikal Hotel which is in the Jauger park. It has a really beautiful beach for swimming. You have to pay to enter the park. Just bring your hotel key and you can enter ( that is your reservation they will ask for it at the start of the park ) the cost to enter is kinda high but worth going to check out.

Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits dans cette hôtel « 3 étoiles ». Nous avons vraiment été déçu sur le petit dej inexistant et pas bon du tout. Seulement 2h pour prendre le petit déjeuner et si vous arrivez à 9h50 on vous dit que ça ferme. Nous avons demandé une bouteille d’eau ils ont jamais voulu nous la donner même si on voulait l’acheter c’était impossible. Le seul personnel sympa est celui du ménage sinon les autres parle à peine anglais et sont pas agréable du tout ni arrangeant. A fuir, ce n’est pas un 3 étoiles mais un 2 pour la France
