My second time staying here & have enjoyed both times! The rooms are surprisingly spacious for Shanghai – no cramped vibes at all. Staff were super friendly and made check-in/out a breeze. The rooftop terrace is a major win with good city views. While it's not right on the Bund, it's an easy 15-min walk to Nanjing Road and the action (plus you're in a more local area with great food options). Not far from Yu yuan garden too which is a bonus. Perfect for travelers who want a relaxed stay with easy access to Shanghai's hotspots.

The staff was hospitable and helpful. If there was a language barrier, Google translate to the rescue. The buffet breakfast was amazing. Food prepared well with great presentation. The laundry facilities were a definite plus. I would definitely stay here again.

Property is well situated in the Bund area, walkable to Yu Yuan and the Bund. Hotel has no drop off zone so it’s challenging to navigate luggages upon arrival and at departure. No door staff to assist with luggages up the front steps. Across the street, there is some construction happening which makes it very noisy during the day. Our stateroom was not cleaned well. Mildew around faucet, edges of shower, higher windows very dirty. Breakfast had a large variety of food items. The restaurant (where breakfast buffet is served) did not seem utilized much. When we tried it, it was understaffed, requiring a long wait for our order (300-40 min).

I can’t understand how a hotel cannot allow guests to use air conditioning. Room was too hot and couldn’t sleep well. Only opening gym at 9am makes no sense. Many need the gym early before breakfast and going to work. 6am at least. If a hotel puts hard floors in their rooms it means they haven’t stayed in their own rooms to experience how loud hard floors sound from the people above. Loud all night and couldn’t sleep. It may look nice but they are impractical.

Great location! Good breakfast . We booked the executive family room that was very spacious with a sitting area! Had a sink, fridge and a microwave. Free laundromat on the 2nd floor. Subway closeby and only one stop away from the Bund, Nanjing pedestrian street and shopping area. Highly recommend

The room was clean, however, the kettle was not. There was a thick lime scale at the bottle of the kettle and was not clean for the next user. I tried to clean it by scrapping but the kettle got worst that I dared not use it for boiling.

On the night I checked in, something terrible happened, specifically the uninterrupted running water noise on the previous floor, and the room was asked to be replaced. In the picture, you should be able to see stains on the walls of the room. What's more exaggerated is that the bathroom facilities are already broken and it feels dangerous. In terms of breakfast, it is actually not delicious, there are not many choices, and the quality is average. However, the staff have a good service attitude, and there are also drink vouchers when checking in, birthday cakes are given, and the supporting rooms and accommodation should require renovation. Please pay attention.

This is my second time staying at SSAW Hotel! I’ve stayed at both their Shanghai and Hongkou branches, and both experiences were amazing. The rooms are very clean, and the service is excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Shanghai. It’s in a great location and conveniently close to the metro.

The first room we got smelled strongly of cigarettes, which seems to have been experienced by others on Google reviews. We asked for a change of room, and although the room was nicer, bigger, and had a beautiful view, our toilet leaked a little water on the floor every time we flushed, but at this point we were tired of complaining so kept the room and just put towels on the floor. Some negative points is that the hygiene was lacking - the first room had dust and a little food remains on the desk, the second room had moldy bathroom tiles. Something else is that the breakfast, although varied, was a little tricky for persons with allergies since many things did not mark the ingredients, and they put the same utensils for several different dishes (for example, you picked up fish and ham with the same utensil - bad because my boyfriend is allergic to fish). Some pros is that the hotel is 5min walking to the station, had decent walking distance to several attractions, and one of the receptionists spoke good English. We also enjoyed the complementary water bottles, sodas, and coffee at the reception.

Our stay at this property was more than terrible. There is a massive construction side (size of a football stadium) in front of the hotel with 5 cranes and jackhammering during the whole day and night. Hotel is located on a street with lots of traffic. Windows are all badly isolated. Aircondition was broken as well - constantly not less than 25 degrees in the room! Staff is not welcoming and doesn’t speak good English except one man. The management refused any compensation. Cleanliness was also a problem, when we arrived the bathroom was full of hair of someone’s shaving. The floors were not cleaned properly during our stay. Breakfast doesn’t meet HACCP standards - warm smoked salmon for example without any cooling. Pastries tastes like days old.

The property location is great, close to many authentic restaurants, Yu gardens and station. Room was spacious and comfortable. The only downside is, the room is very noisy. We had a family room on the 2nd floor and unfortunately it was on the top of the bar which was pumping loud music and it was impossible to rest. Luckily the manager had spoken to the bar owner to switch off the music and it was midnight, they did, however, keep in mind if you get lower lvl you may not be able to rest.

The staffs were friendly, helpful and accommodative. Train station is within walking distance and it near the yu garden. However, the construction currently opposite the property is creating noise even early in the morning at 6am. The rooms are not very soundproof either.

The location of this hotel is excellent, situated near Yu Garden and The Bund, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The breakfast was quite nice, and I particularly enjoyed having it on the large terrace. Additionally, the hotel offers a laundry room where you can wash your clothes, which is a great convenience. However, the room I stayed in was quite small, with a limited closet space. The sliding bathroom door felt unstable, and I was concerned it might fall off. The wall between the room and the bathroom is made of glass, and while there are blinds you can pull down for privacy, they don’t cover completely. This can be quite inconvenient, especially if you’re traveling with a colleague. Overall, while the location and some amenities were great, the room design and size left much to be desired.

フロントスタッフの方の感じがとてもよかったです。2日前に急遽予約して、朝食も安かったから付けましたが、期待以上の種類と味で、朝食付きにして良かったです。電車からも近く、ボンドにも歩いて行けたのでここを選んでよかったと思いました。ただ、私の部屋だけかもしれませんが、Wi-Fiの調子が悪く、使うの諦めました。

El hotel está muy bien situado, a 5 minutos del metro de Yuyuan Garden y a distancia a pie de la mayoría de los sitios de interés. Arriba tiene una terraza bonita y con vistas. We were greeted with very friendly and helpful reception who spoke English very well and helped us navigate any questions we had around the city. The hotel was situationed in an ideal location with short walking distances to many of the sights of Shanghai with neighboring bars, restaurants, and a small supermarket.

The hotel staff are very friendly. I need to leave the hotel before 7:00 to catch my train. But breakfast will not open until 7:00. So the front desk packed the breakfast for us. I was impressed by their kindness. I used to stay another hotel nearby. I switched to this one this time. I am glad I made the right decision. Highly recommend this hotel.

Pros: Conveniently located at Renmin street which is accessible and walkable to various tourist spots (renmin guangchang, yuyuan, the bund,etc.). Room is extremely spacious and somewhat clean. There is a laundromat at level 2 with two washers and two dryers. Cons: Family suites are located at levels 2 and 3, and depending on ur luck, u might be staying next to the aircon vents, which we did for 3 nights. The low humming sounds radiates the entire room day and night and is extremely noisy, we couldnt really get a good enough sleep for 3 nights. Higher floors are fine. Staff service are a hit and miss. Firstly, we requested for plates and cups in the morning cuz we had only 2 cups for 3 pax for coffee/tea, but was quickly dismissed via the phone; they asked us to come down to the restaurant to retrieve them as they were busy with breakfast service. The plates were not washed the next day and tea/coffee weren’t refilled. The next morning we asked the receptionist if we could get our coffee fix from the machine at the lobby, and he told us we could’ve called the room service to refill our coffee/tea and get the cups for us from the room (at this point we didnt even bothered to explain our situation and proceeded along to get our coffee from the lobby)

Very good location, 4 mins walk to metro station, less than 10min walk to chenghuang miao. Walkable to the bund and Nanjing shopping street. However, there is a huge construction site opposite the hotel. If you are staying in the rooms facing the construction, it's very loud. They start working early and finish late. Looks like a site for a new skyscraper, still only at the foundation stage.

Great view of the Bund from Level 4 enjoyed in the sun whilst having an excellent buffet breakfast (get there earlier for a more peaceful atmosphere) BYO our own drinks to enjoy lights of the Bund at night (there is a bar where you can purchase, or a convenience store right next to hotel) Washing machine and dryer on Level 2. Had a free coke zero and sprite zero put in our fridge each day. Lawson or Family Mart 5 minute walk (leave hotel, turn left, walk, cross road, walk turn left next road, on your right behind all the bikes) good for cheap lunch dinner snacks. Yu Gardens close (after being in Japan with their amazing gardens I didn't think it was worth the effort or entrance fee)
