The room was clean overall. Nothing outstanding. Staff was great. The AC worked well. Basic non smart tv in room. Shower only /no bath. The pool sucked. It was small and looked unkept. The hottube was ice cold and full of dead insects. But... parking was included. Walgreens next door. You can walk to restraunts and other shops. It was very safe to be out late and walk around. The staff were awesome and kind. Same with house keeping.

An excellent stay! I greatly appreciated the convenient lcoation, outstanding customer service from Sam at the front desk, easy process to check in, quiet location, clean room and property, and overall provides all of the basic necessities at an affordable rate especially when booking last minute. The pool was open, clean, and not busy at all. The pool is on the smaller side and there is not much seating available around the pool but it wasnt an issue for us as we were a small party of 3. I was able to swim privately with my son during our stay with no other guests around and rarely saw/heard other guests on the property during our stay. Theres plenty of local restaurants, shopping, and places of interest to visit in the nearby surrounding area. I would absolutely recommend the Hyland Inn Pasadena and would return for another stay in the future.

parking lot really cramped. room has been redone and is clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows were good. Negative was a nonfunctional hot tub and three burnt out bulbs in the room. They stated they would be getting rid of it eventually.

Though parking was included in the room rate, the lot was overcrowded because half the parking lot is rented to external users. So hotel guests parked in areas not marked for parking. I got boxed in and had to ask the front desk staff to guide me out in tiny increments. It took a solid 10 minutes to get my car out in the morning. The room was fine, clean enough. Pillows are big and hard, so not comfortable for me. No shampoo or conditioner in the shower. The room had a microwave and spacious refrigerator and appeared clean overall.

hotel was nonsmoking but our room had a heavy scent of cigarettes. i notified the desk but they could only offer a room upstairs which we declined. even the front office had a smell so i suspect all rooms had an odor.

I had decided to stay in Pasedena an extra night and wanted to find a budget friendly option. I'm so glad I chose to stay at Hyland Inn. It was such a pleasant experience. The area felt safe. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. Everything was very clean and tidy: The front lobby, parking lot, walkways, room/bathroom. I did not eat there or use the pool area so I cannot write a review on those areas. I was impressed and would definitely stay here again for a quick budget friendly option. It was a very good experience.

This property was clean and spacious, the walls are paper thin and you can hear the people next door talking and the people above walking (we were on the ground floor) any noise outside was clearly heard so at a certain time in the morning you will be woken up. The facilities were great, the beds were not the most comfortable, you sink into the mattress and the pillows were flat but when I requested another pillow the lovely Spanish lady was very friendly and helpful and delivered straight to my room. The room was equipped with a fridge, microwave and coffee machine which was all brilliant. There wasn't an iron in the room but I called reception and one was delivered straight away. The location was great and the lovely staff really made up for the noise of the room. It's a shame it was noisy and the beds were more comfortable or I would have given it a perfect rating.

Looks like the owners are in the process of modernizing the property. My room demonstrates that with some upscale fixtures, but with somewhat tattered outdated furniture. However, the WiFi is good and the large TV has a high def picture with plentiful cable programming choices. All the appliances are there mini fridge, microwave & wall hairdryer. Oddly, the modernized streamlined room has no closet. In fact there is not a single hook to hang clothes… if you don’t count the fire sprinkler head! Kidding, don’t even think about doing that! All in all, it was a good stay at a reasonable rate.

Only stayed a day but just what we needed. The room was actually quite spacious. The long size bed was surprisingly very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and it was in walking distance for a lot of food options. It was quiet and I felt safe. A very good option if you’re just looking to stay for a few days and need someplace decently cheap compared to the rest of the hotels in the area!

The front desk clerk was very rude when I checked in. The morning clerk said that a lot of customers complained about him as well. I requested a ground room floor due to my disabilities and he put me on the 2nd floor and I had to make 6 trips from my car to the room. Then the next day the elevator broke so that was rough trying to carry all my work stuff down in a portable cart.

This hotel exceeded my expectations so I extended my stay and was there for a month while relocating to Pasadena. Sam and the other gentleman that works there are very kind and helpful. When I checked out I had a total of 5 keys from locking myself out of my room and each time Sam would be there to give me another key and always very nice to me being apologetic. I really enjoyed my time at this hotel and would definitely recommend!

Hyland Inn perfectly met our needs for a last minute place to sleep after an impromptu road trip to spend Christmas Day with my wife's family in San Marino. It is not luxurious like other hotels closer to Old Town Pasadena, but it is perfect if your priorities consist of: 1. Excellent customer service at check-in with their Front Desk, 2. FREE, safe parking lot on a relatively quiet, tree-lined street, 3. Extremely clean, no frills room (minimal towels, no tissue box, not a problem at this price point in this location), and finally... ...a peaceful evening of sleep (did I mention quiet, even though you're two blocks from the freeway) And bonus was the view of the San Gabriel Mountains from the 3rd floor this morning as we were walking to an excellent coffee shop called Rosebud. Would definitely stay again next time we're in Pasadena.

Not sure why the hotel is called this, as it's a 10 minute drive from the auditorium, but it's one of the better experiences I've had at a budget motel. Rooms are clean, refurbished and well appointed with TV and fridge. Comfy bed. Check-in was awesome, a lady named Elizabeth was extremely helpful. Easy free parking. Quiet neighborhood that seemed safe. Only downsides are shower water pressure was weak, bath towels on the thin side, and jacuzzi was tiny with tepid water and barely any bubbles. All that said, this was a positive stay and I would stay here again.

Location for the parade is good, almost too close to get back into the parking lot once roads are blocked off. The room is clean, if sparse. No food, bar or anything like that but there are restaurants and a grocery store a block or three away. Just a front desk to issue a room key. The extra fold out bed's mattress was stained (with what???) and there are no sheets or blankets in the room for it but the guy at the desk provided them upon request.
