Caesar Gion

This was the perfect hotel for me and my teenaged son. We were close to a lot of the sites I wanted to see and a quick bus ride from the heart of Kyoto that he wanted to experience. The hotel itself was charming and spacious. Especially after spending a few days in Tokyo, the room felt massive. Two double beds, a living area with TV, separate WC and separate tub/shower. The staff was enthusiastic and cheerful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Superb hotel!

The location was great. We really enjoyed Fresco, the local super market. The bus stop is very nearby, and it is a great area to walk around and visit tourist spots. Above all, the room and the hotel were very very neat and clean. And the front desk staff was very kind. I would recommend Ceasar Gion and would rate it 9.5/10. I would also like to suggest two improvements for the hotel's convenience and continued success. Placing a mirror on the wall would make the stay more convenient for guests. Currently, the only mirror is located above the sink. And more clothes hooks would be convenient when three or four guests stay together in a spacious room. Otherwise, everything was very comfortable, convenient, and clean!

My wife and I really enjoyed staying at the hotel. We had a spacious room with traditonal Japanese tea side, within walking distance to a lot of the main Kyoto temples and shrines. The bussling city center is about a 15 minute walk. The hotel has a coin washer/dryer and nearby convenience stores. The staf was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

The staff was very attentive. They have a laundry room. They don’t serve breakfast nor they have an indoor restaurant. This is a very good hotel just not as impressive as the one in Tokyo or the Ryokan in Hakone.

One of the best hotel experience I’ve had in Japan and certainly Kyoto! The hotel is owned by a Taiwanese hotelier, who acquired the building last year and operates under their own banner Caesar. Hidden in a quiet corner of South Gion/Kiyomizu area, Caesar Gion has the advantage of being within walking distance of all the great landmarks but just quiet and serene enough to have a good night’s rest. Our room was the standard double and fortunate enough to be on the top floor, which enjoys a great view due East and South. The room is spacious and cozy, with a tatami area for sitting. The bathroom comes with a tub and separate shower area, with the toilet in a separate small room. The design is subtle and elegant and pleasing to the eyes. The highlight of this place is the staff (they speak very good English and Mandarin) and their excellent service. Nancy was the person helping us and she was outstanding in introducing the facilities, recommending restaurants and calling a taxi for us. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to enjoy a good Kyoto experience without breaking the bank. Love this place!! Would come back anytime!!
