Holiday Inn Express - Houston - Galleria Area by IHG

Great for Business travellers as they have lots of meeting areas in the lobby, self checkout convenience store as well.

Check in was great, parking is $28 per car, but you must scan a key card to get in and out and in addition to the "arm" of the garage, there's also a fence that drops from the ceiling so we felt VERY secure there. Rooms were clean and nice. Offer a social hour in the evenings with complimentary beverages and appetizers for hotel guests, great breakfast (better than the typical eggs and a bagel hotel breakfast). Overall VERY pleased and would absolutely stay here again. Always looking for "in town" places to stay after late nights at the ball game or rodeo season. Will keep this one on our list.

Always very good for services and breakfast. Parking elevator was out of service, which was second time it happened to me. But other than that, very good for the price

Room and facilities were clean. Staff is very nice. Parking garage was easy and safe. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The gym was well equipped.

The only negative I can report for this hotel is that the power went out on the morning of our departure and their generator is not sufficient to power all of the guest rooms; only hallway lighting. That is disappointing in a newer hotel and one located in Houston, subject to frequent severe weather.

This was the second hotel we stayed in while visiting Texas for baseball park tours. Started in Dallas then drove to Houston. This hotel lived up to the reviews it has been given here on expedia. I did have a small probem when first arriving and checking the beds. The both beds had Some unknown stains on the sheets, but a Fast trip to lobby and spoke to Devin at front desk and the condition was corrected. The rooms clean very nice shower and view. Stayed in room 1019. Lobby was very spacious and the breakfast Was ok. The people that tend to the breakfast area and clean the tables and floor were excellent. The staff Treated us great. The Area was good didnt encounter any problem's. The hotel uses the GALLERIA mall in its description and the mall is huge to say the least but from what we saw every store was extremely high end brand names. First night ate at Cheesecake Factory in the mall it was Excellent as usual. If i ever return to Houston i would definitely stay there again. ***I didnt like PAYING $28 to self park my car in the lot behind the hotel. Im very tired of paying For stuff in hotels that should be and at one Point were, free for guests. The hotels are adding HUNDREDS of dollars to the cost of staying at their hotels by charging these huge fees like parking and the BS “resort fees” They been charging the last few years. If you are looking for a place to stay in Houston This was a solid choice.

I thought the hotel was fantastic value for money - well located, super convenient with parking, spacious rooms, very good cleaning, great lobby for amenities and atmosphere, excellent breakfast and decent gym. We had 5 days in Houston after coming a very long way and the comfort of the hotel really set us up for the rest of our stay in the USA. Highly recommended, sincerely.

Pool was great

Excellent customer service. Wonderful property. Right next to River Oaks shopping. Great restaurants and the main Galleria mall is very close. The entire hotel is like new and very very clean. Breakfast buffet is fantastic. Great little free toiletries at the front desk and a small store to buy random foods and drinks in the lobby. Highly recommend!

The staff wasn’t over friendly. On our 2nd day we found bed bugs. They were not quick with a resolution. They did move us to another room.

Great, clean, friendly

The hotel is beautiful! Super clean and the staff is so friendly!!

Hallway carpet was very stink and smell like cat when I went to the front desk the gentlemen acted as if he didn’t care. Shower is very hot but water pressure is very light . Beds and pillows are very soft and comfortable . Breakfast is not good or appealing.

There was a bug crawling in the headboard!

Mixed Experience — Great Property, Poor Customer Service Overall, the property itself was nice. I really liked the garage parking, and the room was clean, with comfortable beds and a great view. The location was also convenient and enjoyable. However, my experience at check-in left a lot to be desired. I originally booked through Holiday Inn but was somehow charged by both Expedia and Staybridge, which I now have to dispute — and that’s frustrating. The woman who checked me in had very poor customer service. She rolled her eyes at almost everything and seemed visibly annoyed — not just with me, but with other guests as well. I witnessed her getting irritated with a guest who had a language barrier, another who asked about the food market, and even someone who called with a question while I was standing there. She also seemed bothered when I asked for basic things like directions to the garage and elevators. It made the whole check-in process uncomfortable and unwelcoming. While the room was generally clean, I did notice hair in the shower and on the towels, which was disappointing. That said, the rest of the room was nice, and the comfort level was solid. I might consider giving this place another try in the future — mostly because of the amenities and location — but the customer service and billing issue definitely left a bad impression

The staff were fantastic, although there were a number of things that negatively impacted our stay. Our room (fourth floor) overlooked the highway, and it was very noisy, making it almost impossible to sleep. The shower didn’t have any water pressure at all, and the breakfast, albeit extensive, wasn’t quite for us. Would have preferred more healthy options and fruits. That aside, the staff were great and the hotel is well located.

Air conditioning in room was not working upon arrival. Called front desk and reported and they said someone would come to fix it. Left to go to an event and returned at 11:30 pm. Waited for front desk clerk to get off of personal phone call. Asked clerk if it was fixed and she said it was. Went up to room at 12:30 am and it was not fixed. It was too late to change rooms so we sweated all night while sleeping.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and courteous. The room was modern, spacious and clean.

The hotel was very clean and modern. The king suites were large and views were amazing. Loved the tall ceilings. I would definitely stay here again.

The only knock on this location was the non existent water pressure in the shower… when your in Texas weather you want to have a nice shower to cool off.

The smart cast option on the tv was down throughout my stay. The only reason why I gave a 4 star rating.

I like that the staff was professional and the place was very clean. I this like that I couldn’t stream cast my phone to the tv due to the WiFi connection being poor the WiFi needs to be upgraded due to the amount of people that stays at the hotel and uses the WiFi because the tv didn’t have anything good on it’s live version. Also, I didn’t like the lighting in the room it was very minimum lighting.

Wonderful hotel in a great location. Very helpful staff. Only suggestion would be to book a room on the side of the hotel opposite of the highway. Would be less noisy due to constant traffic.

Get ready to gain some pounds with a calorie high and nutrient low breakfast. The highway side rooms are a nightmare as the sound isolation is low and the noise is day and night. The rooms themselves are clean and look ok. Rooms on the other side of the building are good as of the noise.

TRAVELER BEWARE!!!!!! Make sure you don't accidentally leave items behind!!!!Unfortunately An expensive pair of shoes were left in the room on the floor at the foot of the bed. As soon as I got home I called and they passed me to the HouseKeeping voice mail. I Left a message got a call back saying my shoes were not found in the room and or staff didn't turn them in. I talked to a manager who was very nice but honestly he only knows what they are telling him. I guess if you don't mind your items being found, not returned and kept stay here but I'd rather stay somewhere I felt my belongings were secure and the staff was honest. Who knows how many times this has happened to people staying here. I can forgive and over look a lot from establishments but dishonesty and the out right theft of travelers items is something I will never tolerate. Why can't people just be honest and give back what does not belong to them.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The rooms were really nice and clean and it was in a great location.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was rudely greeted by the desk clerk. He was aggravated and unprofessional. I kindly asked him to clarify about the room I booked and he responded by raising his voice and snapping on me. My second issue is my check out. I left a bag behind and requested a call back from the manager. After a full day, I didn't get any response from management. I will be contacting corporate.

I was charged for a suite and was given a standard room. The manager was out for the weekend and no one followed through to accommodate me. I paid extra for something I didn’t get. Also, it was my birthday. The manager offered to discount my room but still overcharged me.

I always stay here because of the cleanness and value and customer service is excellent!

The personal was so rude, they didnt Make the sofá for my son, they told me make it your self and if you don t want to I will cancel your room, they didnt want to even give is water, so rude this people!

Hotel was nice, good happy hour selections on food and drinks. Close to the Galleria Mall and other shops.

I like the location of this hotel. It put me in a convenient area of town where the action is.

I liked the idea to be near by form most of the famous attractions pretty much less than 20 25 minutes from the Hermans Park, Buffalo Bayou Park, Water Wall etc.

It was in the perfect area. It was easy to get everywhere from that location!

Very clean and great location

1st time visiting Houston for the holiday weekend and picked the perfect hotel and location. The hotel is cenrrally located and close to all the venues/restaurants we wanted to visit. Anh, the front desk host/concierge was amazing! She was friendly, held our bags before check in and provided complimentary cold water with the temps being in the 90s. I would definitely stay here when visiting.

Very nice, spacious room and bathroom, Very comfortable bed. Location perfect for my business trip, 15 minute drive to downtown, 2 min drive to Uptown/Galleria/River Oaks area. Tons of restaurants and shopping nearby. Garage parking was nice perk. The had a social hour I did not partake in but looked fun :)

We went to Houston to celebrate a birthday and party. This hotel was 5-15 minute away from everything we wanted to do and all of Houston's "hot spots"

Breakfast was delicious and lot of options including hot food. Car parking was attached to the hotel and very comfortable. Hotel was very clean, close to Galleria mall with lot of dining options. Bed was comfortable and shower very very clean.

All was great at this Holiday Inn Express. The complimentary breakfast was also great with many food and beverage options to choose from.

Breakfast selection was really good but area was very crowded. Also, some items were not staying hot in warming trays. We enjoyed the selection of snacks in the market area and self checkout worked really well for this. Room itself was clean and comfortable.

Everything was Better than expected. Staff helpful and friendly. Sooo clean!!! And Breakfast, OMG, delicious, Fresh and a large Variety. They had a pancake maker and 2 waffle stations, one in the shape of TEXAS. I would definitely stay here again!

We liked everything, very helpfull when we checked ,help with question we had, rooms cleand and comfortable, Dining at the Hotel was plus, we did not had leave , the bartender Gerado ,that night was awesome, Breakfast was good as we'll ,had a nice little shop to by drinks and snacks, we would recommend anybody to stay

The breakfast was awesome! There was a great variety of foods to choose. The breakfast was fresh and presentable.

From check-in to check out everything in between it really was a great stay. By far my go to options while traveling. Comfy beds a great plus and great breakfast options to the happy hour daily.
