The Mystic Santa Fe

The staff really worked to get me a parking slot near my room to unpack and later pack the vehicle. There were two large events going on. The place was jumping! Great energy. The back section has been set up as a performance stage and viewing/dancing area. Food and drink were available near the stage. Vendors were set up along the back side. True to Santa Fe's tradition, a Grateful Dead style group was very entertaining. Many people were standing and appreciating the music and venue, dressed in their finest old-school hippie outfits. Since I graduated high school two months before Woodstock, I really liked the overall vibe at the concert. The room was comfortable, decorated to the Santa Fe native history and such. The white refrigerator, 50's styling, on the ground, was the smallest I've ever seen. The streaming choices on the big screen TV were plentiful, with typical names (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc.). The breakfast was amazing with more than one would expect from a smallish motel, and of course they have the ubiquitous waffle maker. Overall, this one-night stay was very special.

Quirky, unique, artistic hotel with clean rooms and nice grounds. Back of hotel is a venue that has a small stage, fireplace seating area and a few other gathering places with a trailer that serves cocktails and food during events. Inside the office is a spacious dining area with indoor/outdoor seating, full bar for happy hour and a nice breakfast included with the room price. Very nice!

Room (snake) was super comfortable and spacious, and I love how it was decorated. Breakfast was lovely. And even though there was music in the evening and our room was nearby, it was not loud enough to prevent us from our early night sleep needs. Only complaint was the parking was very tight. The first night we fit, the second night, another guest’s huge truck was parked catty corner to the resident food truck and we were prevented from parking in our spot. It’s just a tight lot. Lovely otherwise!

I love staying at the Mystic. The rooms are clean, comfortable and decorated minimally (in a good way!). The free breakfast is amazing, and the restaurant has excellent food and drinks, and sometimes music. It's got an easy vibe overall - everything from checking in/out to the backyard garden area. I like that the parking area is gated too. Will stay there again for sure!

Boutique motel- Gated and secure. Well planned and designed renovation, very clean and perfect for a couple of nights. While I only had breafast, it was top notch compared to any large chain hotel and way healthier. Coffee is excellent and not watered down. Side note- There is parking for a large truck and trailer, along fence line, but arrive earlier to secure space, will have to back out.

My friend and I spent 2 nights and it was perfect. The decor (in the rooms and the entire hotel) was exactly what I expected from a place in Santa Fe. The room was very clean. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. The staff that greeted us were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful-best free breakfast I’ve had at a hotel. I would recommend The Mystic and will stay there if I ever make it back to Santa Fe.

Mine was a whirlwind trip, but this hotel didn’t disappoint. Everything was clean. Check in was easy. Next time I'm in Ssnta Fe i plan to stay a bit longer and enjoy the place more. I'd recommend this place, for sure!

Disappointed in the condition of my room. There was still trash in the garbage can from a previous guest, shower looked like it had not been cleaned, the lampshade for the ceiling light was held together by 4 binder clips. For almost $140 for one night, I expected a bit more care for the room.

All the staff are wonderful in every respect. Our room was spotless with everything in order. The breakfast was excellent as well.

Unusual property. Special procedure using a doorknob lockbox needed if you arrive after 9:00. Gated parking lot!!! No guidance on how to get thru the gate. Once inside, limited parking. Slight mildew smell in room. Not sure what I'm missing, but this is a 2.0 star room, not 4.5+. If I was in Guatemala, this room might seem quite nice. But for $165/nt.....???

Rooms recently updated minimalist style southwestern decor. Very comfortable. Friendly staff and excellent continental breakfast. I will stay here in the future.

We stayed a single night and it was not good. We woke up to bugs crawling all over us. First was told that they came from the tree outside our room, maybe but I am inside not outside where the bugs should be. Then being told by staff that we must of brought them in with us!! ( What) also was told it’s “ wildlife” and because we didn’t see the bugs the minute we got there, it was basically our problem! Skip this place totally. They are real Jerks!

The sink does not drain and it would be really nice if there were a microwave and coffee maker which are pretty standard, I thought. The bed is comfortable but the room smells like smoke being covered up and you can't open the window for fresh air. Larger numbers on the rooms to easily identify at night would be great.

The rooms were absolutely fantastic, clean, and comfortable. The esthetic was my absolute favorite, employees were so friendly the environment was overall amazing.

Stylish and comfortable. Rooms smaller than avg. but not a problem for me. My only complaint was that the mini splits heater response to the remote thermostat control was quirky for a while. At 11:15 PM, so one was in the office to address that, but it fortunately resolved on its own. The breakfast buffet is amazing!! Best I've ever seen outside of a 5-star hotel. Staff very pleasant.

Staff was kind and helpful. The room was small, but cute and clean. There was gated parking, and the grounds were nice. There is outdoor seating with space heaters and a nice restaurant/bar attached that had live music in the evening. Very close to Meow Wolf, which was awesome. They do offer continental breakfast, but they were running late getting it set up in the morning, so we didn’t get to try it.

Clean, comfortable room. Nice modern bathroom with large walk in shower. Excellent breakfast, far superior to the standard hotel chain breakfast. The breakfast staff are terrific. Convenient to park right outside the door to your room. Only negative is entry from the highway can be difficult.

I'm going to be generous in my rating, because I actually like it when a hotel goes for a kitschy theme. However, I do feel like they sometimes sacrificed comfort here to maintain the kitschiness. For example, I'd like actual side tables, large enough to actually put things on, instead of small lacquered upright logs by the bed. I'd prefer not having to awkwardly reach behind me to access the toilet paper because someone opted to hang it on a strap on the wall rather than just putting it in a regular holder right by the toilet. I'd like to be able to reach my towel from the shower rather than having to step out to get to it because someone put the handle you can hang it from in a place they thought looked more artsy. As to other matters, the breakfast really was delicious and is worthy of the praise other reviewers have heaped on it. The floor of my room wasn't swept well, but the room was otherwise clean. The AC worked well. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff were friendly. I liked being able to park right outside of my particular room in the shade of some overhanging tree limbs. I was able to hear all the noises coming from my neighbor's room. I'm not sure if this was because the walls were thin or because my neighbor was unusually loud, but it was loud enough that I could clearly hear the audio of the movie he was watching (Last Crusade, my favorite Indiana Jones movie, if you were curious). Fortunately, he quieted down before it got too late in the evening.

Friendly staff rustic rooms, and excellent breakfast every morning! I want to give kudos to the kitchen staff who went beyond and above in their service! The only negative I have is I wish the room would of had a full length mirror! All in all, it was an excellent experience 4 1/2 stars!!!!!

The rooms are small but clean and attractive. Breakfast does need attention, more seating needs to be available especially for familes. When we arri ed for breakfast, food was out and had to wait a while for more food. There should also be more coffee readily available.

It was a cute little room. It was clean and comfortable but needed a dresser or a table. Just not enough place to spread out. Lobby was stunning in a comfortable and cozy way.

The hotel has been updated and the rooms are cute. There was a wedding there the night I stayed, so it was pretty loud with music, but it quieted down after 10. Parking was tight. The room was clean and comfortable, but the lighting was really dim.

The matress was the most uncomfortable I ve ever experienced in a hotel costing more than $40!

There was no closet or place for us to hang clothes. No shelves or any kind of an area in the bathroom to place toiletries. Had a fan on a nightstand where there should have been a light. It was a cozy room but not very functional.

We had a late check-in, there is no staff on hand, there is no one to call, the heater in our room did not work. It was near freezing all night. They didn't care, they didn't do anything to help the situation or to rectify.

The Mystic and all of the staff was absolutely wonderful! Above and beyond accommodations, delicious food and drinks at the restaurant, and very clean rooms. 10/10 would recommend anyone to stay here. I was traveling alone with my dog and I felt very safe and the staff made me feel really comfortable. I will definitely be back!

We come to Mystic often and stay for 3-4 days. The staff are friendly and the grounds are nice. It is gated but rustic. The fire circle is a great bonus. The cafe is a nice option, otherwise there are several New Mexican and fast food spots nearby. It's great place to launch out and explore without being in the more touristy, plaza area. Micheal the new manager is really approachable and helpful. Anya is pleasant and welcoming. Xenia the housekeeper is always checking to see if you have what you need in your room. Earl, the cook, is amazing. If you are going to stay at the Mystic, plan for more than one night, and you won't be disappointed.

We had a great stay at The Mystic. It was our first time in Sante Fe, stopping through on a long road trip. Check-in was quick and easy, the room was a very short walk from the lobby, and we were able to get parking a door down. We did arrive during an event at the restaurant, and there was a security guard at the gate, which I appreciated. While the restaurant is open to all (and delicious, I highly recommend eating there), the hotel guests have separate parking behind the gate. The event, queer night, was pretty fun and we were able to sit outside to enjoy our dinner quietly. Music went until about 11pm I think. We could hear it slightly from the room but it didn't keep us awake. The rooms are decorated very nicely, the room was clean, and the complimentary breakfast was incredible. Best hotel breakfast I've ever had. We sat in the lounge area, a beautiful sunny room immaculately styled. It felt luxurious, which was special for such an affordable stay. We'd love to return to Sante Fe for a longer trip to explore the city, and would definitely stay at The Mystic again.

After confirming my reservation and a late check in by text and then talking in person with the manager of the hote the same day as my arrival,confirming and arranging a late check-in, I arrive to find that my room had been given to someone else and that they did not have any vacancy. I insisted that they find me another room in town and pay for it which they did do.

The staff helped prepare tge room for late checkin. Very friendly. The room was amazing and very clean. We will come back!

They nailed it at The Mystic. Staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were really a pleasure to take in, and our room was great. The complimentary breakfast was SO much better than most! We sure hope to come back!

Quaint room, pleasant staff and great breakfast.

Place is very nice but customer service lacks. Our heat didn’t work in our room and front desk said “it just takes a while to warm up”. After getting blankets, and nothing from front desk girl we sucked it up and slept the night. In the morning I mentioned again about the heat and was told I should have said something! I responded I had and front desk girl said NO you didn’t! Liar liar pants on fire! If you do t mind being told you are a liar and being cold, then it’s a great place but I expect professionalism when it comes to customer service.

This place is super cute and super unique. It's a converted vintage motel that now has lots of really cool art and a very retro feel. Nice and comfy and there's a nice pool on the property. It is located next to a freeway but honestly you don't hear it in the room and it's not a big deal. We will definitely stay again if we're in the area, it's a fun experience.

A tastefully renovated travel lodge on old 66. The staff and facilities are top notch. You will need a car to get into downtown Santa Fe.

The decor in this hotel is stunning. The staff very accommodating. The breakfast offered a wide variety— bacon, eggs, fresh fruits, waffles, muffins. Not in the Old Town area - but doesn’t matter. It’s great.

Great staff that accommodated us with our camper and dog. We were looking for a hotel room close to downtown Santa Fe so we could run in and see the sights in a very limited time frame. This is an old Motel that has been renovated. They include an excellent breakfast bar, have a nice garden/outside seating area to hang out in, gated parking and the rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The motel itself is an oasis but the area around is not somewhere you’d want to walk around. It’s a commercial area with businesses along a busy road.

Very well done and well maintained motel. Fun bar and restaurant. Great staff. The surrounding area is rough, but the entire motel and parking is gated.I highly recommend the Mystic and we would definately stay here again.

The motel property was amazing! Everything is very trendy and looks new and clean. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The outdoor space out back was beautiful and we liked that the parking was gated. The breakfast provided was better than we expected - a nice variety of hot and cold food that was all fresh. We also got dessert from the on-site restaurant one night and it was delicious. The only drawback is the location. The area around the motel is sketchy and it's a bit of a drive to reach the musuems/shops/restaurants in central Santa Fe.

Honesty an amazing place! Staff, good, price unbeatable. If you don’t mind public transport you have a bus stop right outside the entrance that can take you downtown for $1. Highly recommend staying here. I will say, I did my research beforehand and realized this wasn’t going to be the nicest part of town. I was okay with that. I felt safe, and still had an amazing time. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, you should go try it out!

Atmosphere was beautiful, clean, and just the right amount of southwestern decor. The hotel breakfast was way beyond the average breakfast with homemade breakfast tacos, fresh cut fruit, and many other yummy options! Plus there is outside seating options and an incredible garden on this quaint property. I usually don’t leave reviews but everything was above my expectations!

Thought the hotel was really quirky and cool. Loved the room, very clean and decor was cool. Breakfast excellent, had something for everyone. Reception was easy and friendly. Garden area around back lovely and relaxing. Safe compound for parking. Only downside as a non pet owner is I would like to see separate rooms for owners of pets. Also paying for fruit juice $4 per glass not good.

Small room (as expected), but comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Don't expect a lot of amenities at this price point, but the breakfast is great with a variety of fresh fruit and better than usual hotel waffles. Only downside was the staff was a little slow to keep the breakfast buffet stocked. Compared to the expensive hotels in town, it was great value for the cost. And Santa Fe is small enough that it wasn't far to get to places we wanted to be.

The property was nice and unique. The staff was great and friendly. Disappointed that the kitchen of the Café and Bar was not providing a dinner service.

Excellent property. We have been traveling across country for the last five weeks. Have stayed at many many hotels. None come close to the breakfast options and quality at Mystic.

Stay was good, close to town and cute room. Negatives - rooms were tiny, was given gate instructions before my arrival and once I was there was told the gate would open for any car that came up to it. Didn't feel unsafe, but wish this was more secure than just letting any car in. A large reason that we booked this hotel over other hotels in the area was because of the rave breakfast reviews. We stayed for 2 nights over New Years Eve and New Years Day and came down for breakfast on New Years Day and was told it was closed. The attendant at the front desk said we emailed you and I let her know I did not receive an email nor was not informed upon booking the hotel or when I was checked in. Was then told we emailed those reservations that were booked through AirBnB which mine was not. Very frustrating as we then had to spend an additional expense for breakfast that we werent expecting.
