Nice hotel centrally located. Parking is quite expensive in Exeter. The hotel deal of paying 10 pounds for 24 h in a parking garage across the street from the hotel is not that great as it does not allow for any exit and reentry within that 24 h period. But the room rate is actually competitive for this quality hotel so that compensates for expensive parking

Good chain hotel, air conditioned room, comfy bed. Restaurant had tasty offerings, great staff. Breakfast was average, with few offerings. Parking was in a multi storey car park on the other side of the road (£10) for overnight.

Good location, nice rooms. Breakfast is very good with a lot of choices. Getting to/from hotel a little difficult due to fast moving traffic and culdesac. Would like to have an exercise room.

I’m writing from a disabled point of view. We aren’t wheel chair bound but both suffer from sever arthritis. It’s becoming more difficult to find hotel rooms with king size beds which is essential when needing to move at night due to problems but these rooms don’t have shower rooms that make it difficult to get in and out of baths to shower. They have lifts to all floors and large for wheelchairs to easily manoeuvre in. The place is clean, staff friendly, Evening food and drinks are excellent but the breakfasts seem to have problems keeping hot. Porridge was always cold, the main breakfast course was either just warm or tepid and that was every morning, I just couldn’t work out why when it was every dish and we were early each morning. Also if you have Blue Badge tell the receptionist as they’ll explain where there’s free parking not at the discounted parking. Apart from breakfast we liked this hotel especially I try ever have accessible rooms with king size beds.

It is a nice hotel close to the city centre. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the staff friendly. The only downside is the parking situation. If you want the parking discount you can’t move your car during your stay. If you want to drive around you have to use another car park without any discount.

Upon arrival I was met by a very friendly front desk person, who was knowledgeable about the area and allowed for early check in. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to some great shopping, restaurants and the lovely cathedral. There is also a very convenient city car park right behind the hotel. All and all it was a good place to stay for the night. The rooms are in a need of an update, and there was a stain on the carpet and also on the duvet. My room was also quite loud due to traffic noice, however for a night it was not a huge deal. I would probably stay there again because staff were lovely and the location was great.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience for the sake of other families considering this hotel. Upon checking into our room, I was shocked and deeply distressed to discover sex toys left behind by a previous guest. The most upsetting part was that my 10-year-old son mistook one of them for a toy. As a parent, this was not only embarrassing but completely unacceptable. The incident speaks volumes about the cleaning standards at this property. Basic hygiene and room inspection should never be compromised—especially in a hotel that’s recommended as a VIP access property. This experience ruined what was meant to be a relaxing family trip and left us feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their housekeeping protocols. Until then, I would not recommend this hotel to families or anyone expecting a clean and respectful environment.

The staff was very friendly. Near by parking. The hotel was really nice, good atmosphere, specially the lounge and bar area. The signature fragance on the lobby was amazing!!! The only downside that we had was the cleaneless of the coffee mugs and spoons were not cleaned at all.

Nice hotel, easy to find and comfortable to stay, my only complaint is that the carpets in the hall were a bit dity and neaded a hover, (there was a cigarette but on the floor when I checked in at 17:00 and it was still there when I checked out at 10:45) I will stay threre again

This was a perfect stop off on the way to Cornwall, staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The site is opposite a car park £10 for 24hrs and the hotel is clean tidy and well presented.

I was able to check in early and the hotel charged me 20 pounds. Having stayed at other Leonardo hotels, I was not charged that fee. The utensils in my room were also dirty. I had asked for the room to be cleaned but was only given clean towels.

At first glance, room looked nice, however the place was a bit tattered; mirror was dirty, hair on the floor, there were scuffs on the wall and paint was coming off, also one person at reception was very rude when we had an enquiry, although the rest of the staff were really nice. Breakfast was quite good and there was a variety of options. The hotel was situated near to the city centre, which was nice.

All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Especially the bar and restaurant staff. Karen was particularly efficient. The hotel was very well looked after and the rooms were spotless. I would highly recommend staying for easy access to the city centre.

Perfectly pleasant stay. Food OK. Hotel clean. Staff helpful. But I like to unpack and put my non-hanging clothes away even for a weekend stay. Lots of hanging space but almost nothing else. And very small shelves in the bathroom, right by the sink so got wet anyway.

Room very clean, cosy and comfortable. Reception and bar/restaurant staff both very friendly and efficient. The hotel is a very short walk from the city center and a 10 minute drive from the university. The only negatives were not a lovely view from my window - the post office and a car park - and the road is quite noisy, but I chose to have the window open instead of using the air con so it probably would have been quieter if I’d closed my window. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Easy to find, city centre hotel. The lady on reception when I checked in was very helpful & caring, I wish I had got her name to thank her again for her help. The only downside to the hotel is the noise of the traffic outside (I live in a very rural & quiet area). Not excessive, but loud for me.

Nice hotel but really needs to look at some little bits that need fixing that would make the place seem nicer. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, a toilet seat that's coming off and a partially blocked sink could be remedied.

Sound proofing was really bad - the room was by swinging doors and people coming in and out the whole night keeping us up. Maybe if you weren't staying at the weekend it would be OK. The rest of the hotel was nice - nice foyer, good breakfast, just shame about the sleep.

Heating was not working! The ladies on reception and the manager were absolutely amazing kind attentive and so polite and went above and beyond to get us a heater and fan. They honestly were excellent and all staff were lovely!!

Stayed here for 3 nights on this trip. A very comfortable stay with exceptional service. The air conditioner in the room stopped functioning, but the staff quickly took care of the matter as soon as we reported it and compensated us with many free drink vouchers; the manager got soaked in the process of fixing the air conditioning but continued to apologise to us for the inconvenience. The staff are very welcoming, and the environment is very relaxing. Will highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Exeter. Special thanks to the hotel manager and one of the hotel staff members for swiftly taking care of the air conditioner issue; despite ending up being wet in the process you both have handled the issue with grace and kindness.

Very efficient and friendly staff, and a clean, comfortable, well equipped room. The hotel was perfect for an overnight stop between long bus journeys. We ate in the restaurant which was welcoming and offered a very suitable range of dishes. We would happily use this hotel again.

Arrived at night went and asked for the on-site parking and the receptionist told us to turn right from where we were parked there was a bollard so we parked in the multi story car park. The receptionist was very friendly the next morning and sorted all our problems out. She told us there was parking behind the hotel and gave us the correct directions to find it. The morning we checked out we encountered the same miserable receptionist ( Geraldine ) and when we asked to book for breakfast she told us the price with a question as though we couldn’t afford it ????? We stay in the cardiff Leonardo hotel often and found the Exeter one more modern.
Arrived at night went and asked for the on-site parking and the receptionist told us to turn right from where we were parked there was a bollard so we parked in the multi story car park. Room was comfortable,check in was easy although we waited whilst 3-4 staff members just stood and we weren’t acknowledged.Nothing was mentioned about parking but we overheard the details when someone else was checking in. Breakfast was nice,lady who checked our room number seemed like she didn’t want to be there,I asked her if there was any bread as it was all empty and she said ‘yeah give me a minute’ and did not seem interested at all. Overall the stay was meh,myself and my husband were celebrating our 10th Wedding anniversary but there wasn’t anything special about the hotel or stay to be honest

All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Especially the bar and restaurant staff. Karen was particularly efficient. The hotel was very well looked after and the rooms were spotless. I would highly recommend staying for easy access to the city centre.

Upon arrival I was met by a very friendly front desk person, who was knowledgeable about the area and allowed for early check in. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to some great shopping, restaurants and the lovely cathedral. There is also a very convenient city car park right behind the hotel. All and all it was a good place to stay for the night. The rooms are in a need of an update, and there was a stain on the carpet and also on the duvet. My room was also quite loud due to traffic noice, however for a night it was not a huge deal. I would probably stay there again because staff were lovely and the location was great.

Pleasant stay in a convenient location of Exeter. Only 15 minute walk to the cathedral. Only downside is the lack of cheap car parking as the nearby car park is rather expensive and much of the on-street parking limited to permit holders.

It is a nice hotel close to the city centre. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the staff friendly. The only downside is the parking situation. If you want the parking discount you can’t move your car during your stay. If you want to drive around you have to use another car park without any discount.

Disappointing stay, let down by a number of things. When I arrived at the hotel I went to the hotel bar to order a drink, although I didn’t get a drink because none of the taps were working. The girl behind the bar seemed confused by the fact that nothing was working, although an apology or the offer of a bottle instead would have been nice. Breakfast on Sunday morning was a disaster. No clean tables to sit down (although lots of dirty ones), no one to greet me when I arrived for breakfast or ask my room number, so it seemed like a bit of a free for all, and I guess that people who didn’t pay for breakfast still had some, as no one was checking! Bread to make toast was empty, and when I asked someone for some more, she disappeared to get some and 10 minutes later I was still waiting. It’s the little things like this that make a hotel and unfortunately my experience of this one was not very positive. Please pay attention to the guests who have paid a lot of money to stay with you!

Nice restaurant team on Xmas Eve very friendly, food all frozen for the price as £8.50 for dessert and £9 for starters which were more light bites, the chicken burger is a frozen product for £18 food okay but I no it was all frozen, dessert had to send back as my daughter wanted the chocolate waffle brownie came cold with ice cream ask if they could microwave the brownie and they did but sent out with the original vanilla ice cream, as a chef of fresh food would skip eating this again, although staff excellent

Very efficient and friendly staff, and a clean, comfortable, well equipped room. The hotel was perfect for an overnight stop between long bus journeys. We ate in the restaurant which was welcoming and offered a very suitable range of dishes. We would happily use this hotel again.

I stay regularly at leonardos around the country and have stayed at this hotel before. Sadly the room was noisy and the door rattled each time someone walked down the corridor. Breakfast was a little cold and not topped up with any speed

We stay at this hotel every time we visit our daughter in Exeter and it's always comfortable and familiar when we arrive. This stay was no different. Room was fine, very clean and comfortable. Sat in the bar after we'd been out to dinner in the evening and enjoyed complementary drinks (thanks for the vouchers!). Breakfast was even better than usual. Great choices and everything fresh. Staff are always attentive and friendly. Thank you.

We were on the 5th floor, awoke at 4am by seagulls nesting on the roof and side balcony where they are also nesting with young. Apart from that the room was pleasant and comfortable. Disappointing breakfast considering the named chain of the hotel. Orange juice was so watery as was the scrambled eggs. We expected better. Overall the stay was OK, but not worth the £205.
