Great stay. Very comfortable place in lovely neighborhood. Few minor things like dull knives and empty BBQ propane didn't set us back. Host was very responsive.

We recommend reading the details of this listing carefully before booking, as many of the property's unique characteristics are included in the description, but we missed before arriving. For example, we missed that the “hot tub” is a one-person clawfoot tub in the 2nd floor bathroom. While the rental is centrally located & within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, & attractions, the front porch & entrance face busy César Chávez Blvd with a significant amount of traffic & street noise. As a result, the porch wasn't the relaxing space we had envisioned. The driveway was challenging to navigate due to the traffic on the street, so we found it easier to park our rental vehicle on the adjacent side street. The fifth "bedroom" is a convertible sofa bed located in the dining room. When we arrived, the house had a musty smell, which improved after running the window air conditioners for a while. as the windows & doors do not have screens so airing the house out naturally wasn't a practical option. Sleeping comfort may vary by guest preference, but we found the upstairs mattresses either quite firm or noticeably worn. The bedroom window coverings also allow a fair amount of natural light into the rooms, which may be worth considering for light-sensitive sleepers. The kitchen & living spaces were functional & full of character, & we appreciated the home's unique decor & historic charm. Overall, the property offers a distinctive stay in a convenient location.
