Charming Home with Sweeping Views of the MS River

We came to Vicksburg to explore the history at the National Battleground. We stayed four nights. There were four bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, small dinning area and laundry room. One bedroom has to be walked through to get to the master, but we ended up not needing that space. The house is older but presented nicely and our stay was very comfortable. The kitchen has cookware and dishes and we made several meals there. Our host James was solicitous and easy to communicate with. The location was great, a close drive to the battlegrounds and to the museums and restaurants downtown. Try Rusty's Riverfront Grill, it was the best meal we had!

This was the 2nd time staying at this property and, like last time, it was great. The property was clean, the pictures we're accurate, and the owner communicated in a timely manner. Perfect for our large family and the kids enjoyed the bunk beds. We'll most likely come back here next time we visit Vicksburg.

We we're in town to visit family. The house was clean and had enough room to entertain visitors. Property manager was extremely responsive. Location was in perfect proximity to just about everything. Wouls stay again when in town.

This home is full of charm with wonderful old wood flooring and ample accommodations. As an owner of a historic home, this property is well maintained and upgraded. It was a wonderful place to escape Mardi Gras chaos at home!

We enjoyed our stay here. The pictures do a good job of showing what the house looks like. It is an older home and shows in some areas but overall still in good shape. We knew this when we booked it. It was exactly what we were looking for and was perfect for our trip. It is close to the road so you do get some noise from traffic but it was not horrible.

The price was great but there were some issues with the property: The place was drafty. It smelled old/stale. The first bathroom toilet did not flush and there were no electrical outlets. Couldn't plug in the space heater. The heater on the wall was missing the on/off knob and the bathroom was always cold. The bath towels had multiple stains and holes They didn't smell freshly laundered. The TV in the middle bedroom didn’t work and the bed didn't have a headboard. The Bedroom pillows were yellow, and the pillowcases needed to be washed. There were only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 5 people. Two rolls were not enough and there were no extra rolls found. There was no soap dispenser in the second bathroom but the first bathroom had a dispenser. There were no wall mirrors except in the bathrooms. Overall, the place could use some updating and air freshener.

We came in town for a funeral. The house was beyond amazing. Very comfortable,like a home away from home. The host communicated well. The view was awesome. We will definitely be back. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

Really pleasant stay, happy with the house and host. Only downside was sharing one shower between 4 people but that was do-able.

We enjoyed the view of the river and the house was a convenient place to stay for a stop over on a longer trip. The king bedroom and the only shower in the house is only accessible by going through another bedroom, so that was a bit challenging. The house got the job done for a quick stay but I wouldn't recommend it for those traveling with young children. There was little to no space for play inside, outside the front yard is very close to the street and the backyard is a steep drop off into a gully.

We loved the house, plenty of room and comfortable king size bed. Loved the location!

We stayed from Aug 30th to Sept 4th. The rooms were nice and comfortable, the AC kept us nice and cool. The bedroom next to the bathroom with just the tub, no shower. has an AC that has to be plugged in and unplugged to turn on and off, the power button has no response. The Master bedroom's bed is a higher than normal but comfortable once you get settled. There isn't any other chair in that room to sit and read. Also, be aware that there is another bedroom, smaller with just a ceiling fan, no window unit to get to the master bedroom. You have to go through. There is a shower in the Master bedroom and a blow dryer in one of the drawers. The dresser had plenty of storage room. Once you figure out the front door lock and remember to push the lock button, it's a snap. I found the house keys the last days we were there, on the mantle on a thing that reads KEYS. I thought it was decoration until I looked closer. Even though this property is directly across from Balley's casinos entrance/exit driveway, the house is well insulated. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you James for the constant communication.

My family enjoyed the stay! The home is convenient to the casino but quiet. I would stay there again. Communication with the host was 5 star throughout the week we were there. I lost a piece of jewelry and it was mailed promptly.

The house was very easy to find and located close to casino and traffic was little or none and we enjoyed it there but needed second bath to have shower too!!!

Good base for exploring Vicksburg.
