This home is for the adventurous nature lover. Overlooking the Shenandoah River, the sound of the nearby rapids gently lulled us to sleep each night. The drive to the property from the highway was a like drive through a nature park teaming with deer, Canadian geese, river turtles and other wildlife. The roads could be sporty, but worth the views. We managed with a 15-passenger van (9-foot clearance) to accommodate our family. Winter driving in snow would require something more such as 2x 4WD vehicles. We stayed here as a compromise to attend a wedding in nearby Harpers Ferry and a few days touring Washington DC for our grandchildren. The property is a 30-45 minute drive to the DC Metro Station - the easiest way to get in and out of our Nation's Capital. It worked out well for us.The property met all of our needs with one exception - the stairs. Living with small children in a Florida Ranch, we didn't give much thought to a multi-story house until we got there. Had they been a little older this home would have been perfect - and it was in every other way. We truly enjoyed staying here. As a suggestion to the home-owner, I would recommend making removeable baby-gates available.

Excellent accommodation for a long weekend. House was clean and the views were amazing. Enjoyed having multiple games to choose from on a rainy day. Hot tub was great.

We had the best spring break trip here with our two sons. The property was comfortable and well-stocked. Communication and checking in was incredibly easy. There were a few things we had questions/concerns about and everything was responded to and addressed/answered immediately. We spent so much time outside-it was a great "reset" for us to get away from the city and into nature. We would definitely come back to this property!

The house seemed to be cleaned very well and it was spacious. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The hot tub worked and was clean. The river view and sounds were great, and the kids loved the hikes down to the river.

We enjoyed coffee and looked over the fabulous view each morning, and soaked in the hot tub after a bonfire every night. It was almost perfect. Be aware, the listing is not kidding about the bugs, or the steep drive. But it's fabulous.
