Very easy check in process and great communication from the owners. Great secluded location while still being close enough to stores and the city. The only drawback was there was not a washer and dryer available to do laundry on site. Other than that we loved it!

This is a very well-appointed and comfortable VRBO. Proximity to numerous trails (Duluth Traverse, SHT, Waabizheshikana, Munger, DWP, Grand Avenue Nordic, and of course Spirit Mountain for Alpine/Nordic ski, tubing and gonzo downhill MTB. Duluth's East end & Canal Park get way too much of the attention for outdoor rec, West Duluth is not to be missed. You can literally walk to all of this stuff and we did. The wood-fired barrel sauna was awesome. Acces to laundry machines would be nice for longer stays.

We had a wonderful trip and stay over President’s weekend with Don, daughter in law and two granddaughters. This property easily accommodated our party and was SO CONVENIENT to Spirit Mtn and other outdoor activities. The lower Chalet was just around the block, Jay Cook was a 20 minute drive and Duluth restaurants a short drive away. The property was very clean, nicely decorated (so cute!) and we really enjoyed the cedar sauna after a day of outdoor skiing and hiking. The owners have thought of everything! Plenty of dishes, all the utensils and pots/ pans anyone would need. Very well stocked! And, they were attentive when we had questions. We loved it!! Five stars all around!

Great spot- beautiful location next to a hiking trail, cute and clean house- our kids (ages 5-10) adored the house too! Sauna was a fun bonus. Did an easy day trip up the North Shore- Black Beach, Split Rock Lighthouse trail, Gooseberry Falls, and Canal Park. Had the feeling of being more remote (with large windows overlooking beautiful trees), yet was convenient. Would love to come back and do more hikes out the backyard. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

We recently stayed at this wonderful property up north, and it was absolutely perfect for our family! The place was incredibly clean and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. With younger children, we appreciated the family-friendly setup—plenty of space for them to play and explore. The back yard goes under appreciated, lots of space with trail access and secluded fire pit. The amenities were fantastic, especially the sauna, which was great after the kids went to bed. The hosts were amazing—helpful, responsive, and quick to answer any questions. The property has a the cabin charm, but it’s also conveniently located close to Duluth’s attractions. It’s the ideal spot for families looking for a peaceful getaway with plenty to do nearby. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be returning!

Mark and Jamie were excellent hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed. Their communication and flexibility was great. The house was perfectly clean and cozy. The beautiful views outside of the large windows were a favorite perk. Beds were comfortable, appliances were top notch, and the sauna was charming. My friends and I gushed about the house all weekend. We were surprised with a Christmas tree in the house and that made things even cozier. We had all we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. The location was great for shopping and restaurants. We plan to book a stay for next year. Very highly recommended!

A absolutely beautiful home, located in a perfect location with beautiful woods behind. This had a wonderful outdoor fire pit to enjoy, relaxing evening under the stars, a wood-burning sauna to relax your muscles after a long day of outdoor activities, relaxing, indoor fireplace. This home is located right next to hiking trails and biking trails. The house was extremely clean, felt very homey and the decor was perfect .I give this house a 10 rating and definitely plan on coming back.!

The house is even more impressive in person. It was very clean!! The home felt warm and cozy and the beds were all really comfortable. We had a wonderful time. We did a lot of outdoor activities so it was great to come home to this place, warm up, play games, watch movies, and use the sauna. We had snow one morning and the owner was quick to communicate and remove the snow for us. The kids already asked if we could come back next year. Looking forward to another stay here.

A beautiful place to stay! Everything was nice and clean, I’m super picky about things like this. Stayed with husband and kids the weekend before the Christmas holiday. House was beautifully decorated for Christmas, it was so comfy and cozy! We had a lot of great family time. The hosts were great and easy to get in touch with if needed. Short drive to Duluth and found many great restaurants and things to do! We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!

We loved this vacation rental! The setting in the woods was beautiful, the house was amazing and clean with great views, and the hosts were very responsive! We were in town for a trail race and loved that we could walk to the superior hiking trail from our back yard! We would definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Spirit Mountain Retreat! It’s absolutely beautiful and warm and inviting. Everything is new and fresh. Jaime and Mark were amazing hosts! Providing everything from toilet paper to snow plowing. We had such an amazing experience and we can’t wait to return.

This is what a VRBO should be! Impeccably clean, comfortable, and easy. The house was even better than the pictures - spacious and charming, tucked away enough that it felt remote, but really just a quick drive to downtown. Our hosts were gracious and efficient, with a simple list of need/nice to know things, and had the sauna ready for us to light. All in all, a great little holiday!

The house is exactly as pictured yet somehow even better. The owners have done an amazing job remodeling this property, making it quaint, modern, clean, inviting, just overall fabulous. They have considered every possible amenity; we could not find a single thing they did not have. They are excellent communicators and overall consummate hosts. We would stay in any property they owned again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

I just need to stay that this was the best experience I've had staying in a vacation rental! The rental was clean which is above all else important to me. Not to mention beautifully decorated and accurately represented. So many nice touches throughout. The owner was so generous and accommodating to us when we requested an early check in (There was a winter storm that changed our travel plans). While the weather and windchills foiled some of our ski and outdoor plans we had for our visit, we kept busy with a little winter hiking from the trail (it really is right there from the back yard), board games, books, not to mention the Sauna! We got a lot of relaxing done on this trip. A short drive into Duluth, not far from places to eat and get groceries. We spent Christmas here and were so surprised to find a Christmas tree and holiday decorations set up to make it even more festive! You will not regret booking this wonderful home. We will be back!

My friends and I love this home so much that we’ve now stayed here three consecutive years. Mark and Jamie are so easy to work with - ensuring we have all we need and setting us up for a great stay. We loved exploring the woods behind the house, coming across a small frozen waterfall. The location made it easy for us to get to and from shops, restaurants, and Bentleyville. The kitchen had all we needed to make some meals in-house. We appreciate the holiday decor, which helped us get into the Christmas spirit. Can’t wait for year four!

This is what a VRBO should be! Impeccably clean, comfortable, and easy. The house was even better than the pictures - spacious and charming, tucked away enough that it felt remote, but really just a quick drive to downtown. Our hosts were gracious and efficient, with a simple list of need/nice to know things, and had the sauna ready for us to light. All in all, a great little holiday!

Clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated; this home is perfect for a relaxing stay! You can’t find a better location for access to Spirit Mountain. The attention to detail and ease in communication make Mark & Jamie the perfect hosts. Highly recommend this home!

Great place, great location and great hosts! Everything was clean and the sauna was excellent. Easy access to the trails for snowshoeing. Mark and Jamie were always available if needed, definitely will stay here again.

We enjoyed our visit to this property. The home was very clean and had a nice private setting. Communication with the owners was excellent. They resolved an issue we had with the grill immediately. The owners go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your vacation.

The house is exactly as pictured yet somehow even better. The owners have done an amazing job remodeling this property, making it quaint, modern, clean, inviting, just overall fabulous. They have considered every possible amenity; we could not find a single thing they did not have. They are excellent communicators and overall consummate hosts. We would stay in any property they owned again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Great location in close proximity to the trails, and just a 10-15 minute drive into the heart of Duluth. The sauna was awesome and the house had all the amenities that we needed.

Great spot- beautiful location next to a hiking trail, cute and clean house- our kids (ages 5-10) adored the house too! Sauna was a fun bonus. Did an easy day trip up the North Shore- Black Beach, Split Rock Lighthouse trail, Gooseberry Falls, and Canal Park. Had the feeling of being more remote (with large windows overlooking beautiful trees), yet was convenient. Would love to come back and do more hikes out the backyard. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

The property was a little oasis in Duluth, you feel like you’re tucked back into the woods but have a 10 mins drive to anywhere. The property interior and exterior was very well kept and clean. The property owners were very well with communication and flexibility We enjoyed the backyard area every night.

We loved this vacation rental! The setting in the woods was beautiful, the house was amazing and clean with great views, and the hosts were very responsive! We were in town for a trail race and loved that we could walk to the superior hiking trail from our back yard! We would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful trip and stay over President’s weekend with Don, daughter in law and two granddaughters. This property easily accommodated our party and was SO CONVENIENT to Spirit Mtn and other outdoor activities. The lower Chalet was just around the block, Jay Cook was a 20 minute drive and Duluth restaurants a short drive away. The property was very clean, nicely decorated (so cute!) and we really enjoyed the cedar sauna after a day of outdoor skiing and hiking. The owners have thought of everything! Plenty of dishes, all the utensils and pots/ pans anyone would need. Very well stocked! And, they were attentive when we had questions. We loved it!! Five stars all around!

Mark and Jamie were excellent hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed. Their communication and flexibility was great. The house was perfectly clean and cozy. The beautiful views outside of the large windows were a favorite perk. Beds were comfortable, appliances were top notch, and the sauna was charming. My friends and I gushed about the house all weekend. We were surprised with a Christmas tree in the house and that made things even cozier. We had all we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. The location was great for shopping and restaurants. We plan to book a stay for next year. Very highly recommended!

A absolutely beautiful home, located in a perfect location with beautiful woods behind. This had a wonderful outdoor fire pit to enjoy, relaxing evening under the stars, a wood-burning sauna to relax your muscles after a long day of outdoor activities, relaxing, indoor fireplace. This home is located right next to hiking trails and biking trails. The house was extremely clean, felt very homey and the decor was perfect .I give this house a 10 rating and definitely plan on coming back.!
