Arlo Midtown

This hotel is in a great location. The lobby is nice with places to hang out, and there’s a gym with a good amount of equipment and a separate stretching/TRX room. The rooms are quite small, I guess smaller than we expected even for NYC. We ended up needing to change rooms because the first one had the bed pushed up against the window which makes it louder for sleeping and makes it difficult to charge devices (there’s no nightstand on that side). Unfortunately, we didn’t sleep too well the four nights we were there due to the street noise (and we were on the 21st floor) and the AC unit was constantly blowing hard, even set at a slightly warmer temperature. Decent stay, but we likely won’t choose this hotel again.

This hotel is an absolute oasis in the heart of New York City. Beautiful vibe and decor in all public spaces, great gym, amazing food and service in bar and restaurant, and super comfy quiet room with a gorgeous terrace. I will be back!

Front of house staff was great. Rooms were small (as to be expected) but very nice. Really enjoyed the roof top deck and even the fitness center.

Best stay ever in any hotel I’ve been to. They have a rooftop bar with amazing views, restaurant with an outdoor seating space, another bar on the ground level, a spacious lobby. The food was amazing at the restaurant. The staff all around the building were super nice and helpful. Anytime you called the front desk for something they would bring it within minutes. And how could I forget they have one of the best gyms!

Newer hotel so everything is in good condition. Plenty of elevators, so less wait time than usual in Manhattan. Front desk staff was all super nice, but for whatever reason the desk and lobby were generally mobbed with people, making check-in/out a lengthy process.

This is the second year I stayed at Arlo when I go to a conference in New York. It’s extremely convenient to Times Square and only two blocks to walk over to the Javis convention center. There is a parking garage directly across the street and with the hotel discount, it’s very reasonable no need to use their valet. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff are the friendliest ever. They have a great downstairs, coffee shop, bar, and lounge area. And on the top floor is a great rooftop bar.

First and foremost, this place is noisy. Definitely doesn’t fit the hospitality model of a welcoming haven for weary travelers. They play club-style music all the time everywhere, and LOUD. Having music in the lobby would be ok in theory, but here it feels like an affront. Their idea of creating a hipster vibe, I guess. It was impossible to feel at ease until in the quiet of our room. At the restaurant in the afternoon, we were the only customers in the place, but the music was so loud we couldn’t even have a conversation. The server was sympathetic but said he wasn’t permitted to turn it down for us. In the room there’s an object that looks kind of like a refrigerator, but it’s just a cooler. And a leaky one! We put a small bag of ice on top of our things to keep them cool, only to return later to a big puddle on the floor.

When we first arrived, the bathroom was not clean and the toilet was filled with toilet paper. So they switched our room, where the next bathroom had drainage issues. Also the rooms are very tiny, you can barely open your suitcase. Do not recommend.

It is a super cool hotel in NYC. Highly recommend it. The staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean and comfy.

Room was pristine

Such a great space for our family. The terrace gave extra room on gorgeous fall days which was a lovely touch. The bathroom and room were always clean. The smell when you walk in the hotel was like feeling you are home.

Stay from Friday to Monday. Convenient location and that’s pretty much sums up all the positive. After 2 days there was no room cleaning service, We called downstairs and was told “we only clean every other day”. The next day came and still no cleaning service. We went downstairs and was informed they offer cleaning service daily and we must have stayed in the room or had the do not disturb button on during service. No and no. Front desk blamed everything on “third party”. We used the in room phone but they said it is sometimes transferred to a third party. We have no ideas what they were talking about. Third party or not the hotel is responsible for ensuring information relayed to guests was correct. They offered to send someone up at 5pm and we declined as we just got back and would like to get ready for dinner. After we left for dinner, the cleaning staff came to clean. We realized that they just made the bed without changing the sheet (there was a small make up stain in the sheet which was still there after the cleaning). The room was small and thin walled. We could hear people opening their doors and using the elevators all night long. There was no in room fridge, only a cooler that honestly didn’t work that well. The internet was closer than our own WiFi. The staff was friendly in person but gave inconsistent answers to the same issue. It feels like a group of college kids running a start up.

The hotel was nice. Our room, however, never received any housekeeping despite us being out of the room for the majority of the day. Front desk people were very nice.

Arlo property was excellent. Staff and service was excellent. Rooms were very clean.

They left our door open and proceeded to make it seem like it was our fault even though it was housekeeping. Gave us a room with broken blinds. Dirty!

Great food and coffee. Room had pee all over the enterance floor and a bug in the fridge.

The hotel has a little bit of sewerage smell. The room is small and old.

Good location. The rooms are small… but bug for New York. The only let down was the WiFi was so bad. It said high speed WiFi but we could barely download even a photo. I questioned the WiFi only to get a shrug from the front desk. The phone in our room also didn’t work. The coffee shop is handy but pricy… it’s New York though what are you going to do.

The rooms are not overly large but the space is maximized by very smart design & layout. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, cheerful and friendly. The location is convenient for multiple subway lines, Amtrak and commuter trains etc.

Bed was super comfortable, room is small but has very thoughtful storage options and it's NYC after all, rooms are small! The shower might be one of the best I have used. Room has small fridge drawer too! The only thing missing is a pod coffee machine!! Loved it.

Rooms are comfortable, have good storage spaces for cases under the bed and nice bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent.

Rooms are slightly bigger than NYC average hotel room but still pretty small. Elevator service was extremely slow. Air in rooms was uncomfortably cold and humid at the same time.

The hotel facilites are very nice and we loved the decoration. Unfortunately, our room was not very good. The room is super tight. Instead of a king size bed it should be a queen sized in order to have more space. The AC was super loud and made squeaky noises all night making it very difficult to sleep. On top of that, the blackouts are in very poor conditions so all the light came inside the room. Definitely did not have a good nights rest.

Stayed here multiple times in the past and keep coming back, love the location of the midtown and the staff.

The Arlo Midtown is a modern ans chic hotel with great locatiopln to Times Square and other amenities. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!

We have stayed at this hotel several times before but like a lot of other chains, they are trying to cut corners by reducing the staff at the front desk and trying to get you to use a self-check in kiosk that doesn't really work. Because we booked two separate nights on Hotels.com we had to go downstairs and get new keys for the next day. It seems like they could provide a better experience for their guests by finding a way to eliminate these silly things that are a waste of everyone's time.

Great place to stay in NYC. It’s modern and clean. All of the staff were really nice and helpful. The most convenient thing was the complimentary luggage storage since we showed up a few hours before check in time.

Good restaurants around the corner on 9th but not much in area except that it was a short ride to most of our destinations and the cruise pier, our exit from the city.

Well located hotel with a great bar/restaurant and the bonus of a roof top bar. Public areas are great. We had a 2 double room for a family of 4 which was small. There isn’t a lot of hanging space but good use of under bed storage for cases etc. However, for the price I think this was not unexpected. We arrived at 6pm and our Room wasn’t ready. The staff were excellent with a special mention to Nikita and Leticia. My son left his soft toy at the hotel which he has had since birth. He was very upset. The hotel found it and were able to facilitate shipping to our next destination as we were travelling through to Canada. Thank you! There is a great restaurant literally round the corner. Steak Frites is definitely worth a visit too.

I booked a two night stay. my flight was canceled late at night. Re-booked for an early flight in the next morning and went to go check in, to catch a quick nap, but upon showing up, they told me they canceled my reservation for last night and booked my room and there were no rooms available until other guests showed up. I was fully expecting to eat the cost of the first night with my flight being canceled, but to show up and not have a room available that I’d already paid for was pretty frustrating. I’ve never had a hotel through this where I’ve missed a flight and showed up the next day and they didn’t call to check on my status or cancel my room outright and rebooked it. I end up having to wait 2 to 3 hours for room to open up, the rooms themselves are great, but the staff was very confrontational where they said it was my fault for not calling to let them know of my status of flight had been canceled. Nowhere on the listing does it say call if you miss your flight so they don’t cancel your room, it’s understandable to call if you’re getting in late but I showed up at 7 AM to no room.

Very poor service from staff. Had to ask two or three times anytime anything was needed. Convenient location but I'd look somewhere else to stay.

Fast Check-in Process, close to time square and pen station. It is a perfect place to stay and enjoy NYC.

Walkable to theaters and other sights, friendly staff and clean rooms. A great place to stay in midtown.

The location met all expectations and was close to all of the places we wanted to visit.

I loved that when I got to the hotel at noon they were able to check me in at 1! The service was fast and pleasant. The breakfast restaurant was an added surprise. I can’t stop thinking about that silky and delicious omelette I had there. Rooms were clean, housekeeping services were responsive and the rooftop cozy.

The hotel room space was small. Maybe this is new york thing. Paid for breakfast when booking the room. The breakfast was outstanding along with the service provided by the staff during breakfast. The room was cleaned daily.

Breakfast service was expensive with inattentive and confused servers. Room is confy; desk staff courteous and accommodating. Bathroom and shower are clean and adequate size, good towels, lumpy pillows. Great location .Excellent cheap food in neughborhood.

The subtle fragrance as you enter sets the tone for the experience. The dining area was lovely and cuisine exceptional. Easy to get a quick coffee and muffin to go or dine in on the property with an open air lounge area.

Overall a nice property but lots of noise from the foyer in the evening. Bar staff and coffee shop staff were unfriendly
