The only problem we encountered was checking in. The hotel is Springhill Suites and Courtyard. We went left and we had to turn around and go left after we waited in line to check in only to be told we had to turn around. Not a big deal But it was confusing because they both share the same parking lot and pool.

This was a nice place to stay. It is about 2 blocks from the beach. The pool looked nice, but never went in. The hot tub was great and we went in all three days. We ate once at the bar/restaurant. It is tiny, but it gets the job done. Parking was easy. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

Great location! Just a walk across the street to beach and short drive to downtown Fernandina Beach. Brand new Marriott so fresh and clean. Very comfortable bed. Nice pool but hot tub heater not working. Convenient and good breakfast.

The hotel is located next to the beach and Fort Clinch state park which was plus! The room carpet has a large stains which looks like the animal waste. The front desk personnel was very friendly offered a room change. The hot water was sparse so if you have long hair would be hard to get enough water to washed out shampoo. Pool and gym room were great! I love the location. Wish the carpet in the room changes to the tile or wood floor since this is dog friendly hotel. Overall I love this hotel and wish it will improve in the future.

On our first attempt to enter our room, the key cards did not work, so we had to go back down to the lobby and get new key cards made. Then, once we entered our room, we noticed a bad smell and saw a huge floor fan that was obviously drying wet carpet. Again, we had to go to the lobby and get another room. We honestly did not notice that the second room had wet carpet as well, until we were unpacked and took off our shoes! Ugh! Yet another trip to the lobby after repacking, with all our luggage! Thankfully the 3rd time was a charm. And it came with an upgrade! Yay! I only mention this because we were told that the rooms were marked "wet carpet, do not use" and yet we spent so much time trying to get settled in our room after a full day on Cumberland Island. It was just so unnecessary. That being said, the hotel is lovely. The walk to the beach is easy and the pool area was beautiful. Do note that it is not on the beach. The "beach view" is 2 blocks away. And the $15 a day parking fee is sad! No one monitors the parking lot, no license plate info was taken, nothing keeps anyone from parking there to our knowledge... it is just a fee to park, where you are paying to stay.

The walls are so thin we heard others talking until 1:30am and kids trunning on the floor above us until 10pm. Then there was the roaches!!! Trapped one alive under the soap dish. We prepaid $20 for breakfast and were charged $48! The views shown on Expedia are fakes. Other than that...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights the other weekend and it was clean, which is my number one requirement. However, our room was next to the electrical room and it was very loud and woke us every morning around 5 AM with a weird humming noise. Also, the room was a little bit snug.

Really good location and nice pool area with a good bar. Wall are very thin so easy to hear neighbors very clearly through the vents as well. Recommend but also note that people with balconies sometimes smoke on balcony which was unpleasant. I’d still strongly recommend with location, pool, and facility but be aware of the thinness.

The good: very clean hotel. The rooms are quiet, the beds are comfy. The Bistro menu is adequate and the bar staff (especially Ben B) was great. The bad: a breaker kept tripping in our room resulting in half our room with no power (we had nothing we plugged in) and called 4 times for them to fix it. the internet was non existent from Friday checkin until Monday checkout and we were told it “was the entire island” yet walked across street to convenient store and they had wifi. The parking is limited at the hotel. It fills quick and you may end up parking in alternative place. The front desk staff has to be the least friendly of any hotel I have stayed at.

My Room door was hard to open and had to have the Desk send someone up to ensure it was working properly, it did open but remained hard to do. Also the wall air unit didn’t work, so had to send someone up to fix that.

The property was in great condition and located conveniently right across the street from the beach. But the staff were the greatest asset. In a world where hospitality sometimes seems an abandoned concept, every associate we encountered was utterly delightful, from the front desk to housekeeping to the bar and even a kitchen crew member on her way home after her shift raved about her employer, unprompted and aglow with sincerity. Kudos to management at all levels for cultivating that kind of culture! I highly recommend but you’ll have to drive a short distance to the historic district shops and dining.

Everything was grest UNTIL checkout, and we could not find a cart to load our luggage on. I told the lady at the front desk we had to carry out our luggage by hand, which made us a few mins. late. She acted accusatory and had me to look where the carts are again, AND I looked in front of her and told her there were still no carts. Everything was great until then.

Worst shower I've ever had... hardly any water pressure. It was just a drizzle and on top of that the shower drain (as well as the sink} has very slow drainage so the tub became slippery with more than an inch of water due to the slow drainage. Additionally, I have called and left 2 messages for Lost & Found {Housekeeping Dept} because I left something in the room. But no one calls back. I know exactly where I left the items in the room, but I'm sure, based on their non response so far , that I will never see those earrings again.

The large marge’s at the checking with the tattoo smile were very condescending. They should not be in the hospitality business. I have traveled the world and stayed at many JW Marriott, and a member of Marriott. These people at the front desk are very poor representation of your company.

Hotel itself was clean and looked beautiful. Staffing could improve. To slow to check in. I did online check in and there was no record of it. Physically got there at 200 for 400 pm checking and room wasn't ready, which was fine but was never texted when the room already. Lady said she didn't have anything saying to contact me

The hotel was beautifully designed. The pool area was phenomenal. The location was great. The staff was very nice. There were two issues we found with the hotel. First was that while they were supposed to come in and make your bed and get rid of your garbage every day and thoroughly clean on the third day as per the notice we were given on check-in. Our room was only cleaned once so we had piles of garbage in our room three out of the four days. The other issue I have with the hotel is the cost of food and drinks. Two frozen drinks cost $28 and a breakfast burrito times two was $30 with $4.00 waters. While I understand hotels don’t always give free breakfast, I certainly was not expecting to pay $30 for breakfast. Nor was I expecting to pay cruise prices for frozen drinks. All in all it was a nice stay but I would tell you to go off site for meals, drinks and buy a case of water for $7.00.

I expected it to be much nicer than it was for the price. It was a regular hotel. The staff was great, the pool was clean. Parking and breakfast are not included, I got the food voucher for breakfast but it doesn't save you any money, they give you what you put on the food voucher on a card, better off going somewhere for breakfast. The food is average, not worth the prices they charge. The beach is a block from the hotel, easy walk. There are a few kids activities near by.

The property was your basic chain but clean. Unfortunately the hot tub and fire pits did not work because of a broken heating element. I specifically booked this hotel for the hot tub and it would have been nice to know ahead of time or to receive a credit for a portion of our stay. The same goes for the “breakfast included” option on Expedia. This hotel is combined with spring hill suites, which has a free buffet but the courtyard did not offer a buffet. To eat at the cafe in the lobby for 3 people at breakfast was over $50 a day and there is nothing to walk to until after 11:00. I think this is more an Expedia issue, not the hotels fault. Just know the two properties are connected as one property but you do NOT get breakfast at the courtyard.
