The Chicago Hotel Collection - Wrigleyville

Our family spent three nights at Wrigleyville to tour the city and go to a Cubs game. It's a great place for a night if you're going to a Cubs game--less than two blocks away and in walking distance to several bars and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and orderly, although they did not have a refrigerator or microwave. The building's decor is fitting for a baseball game. The major drawback is that there is no parking, and we had to use the Wrigley Field Parking garage for our two vehicles. In three nights the parking cost us an extra $500.

The room was furnished well and large glass shower was excellent. The bed was comfy. Area near Wrigley Field had a lot of restaurants and fun nightlife and going to the ballgame was great! However, it was extremely noisy at night from the throbbing music coming from bars with windows open on the street below which lasted til midnight. Also the parking garage next door— not part of the hotel— ripped us off. They listed a max charge of $45 for 24 hours stay. Even though we entered after 4pm and exited the next morning at 10:20 am —- they charged us $120 total — they added on a $75 game day parking charge saying we had overstayed the 10am cut off time for game days) not posted on the clark street entrance) .

The only reason I’m not giving this adorable place 5 stars is because of the parking situation. I didn’t know there wasn’t parking until I received an email stating so the day before I checked in. This may have been an oversight on my part not noticing when I booked. My complaint is that I used the suggested garage and was parked there for less than 24 hours and parking was $150! Had I known how expensive it would be, I would’ve booked elsewhere. Just keep that in mind when choosing a hotel based on price. Otherwise, the hotel itself was great!

This was the perfect place to stay for a Chicago Cubs game!!! The hotel is convenient to Wrigley Field and in the middle of Wrigleyville. The location gives you unlimited food and drink options with access to local shopping within walking distance. The only draw back is trying to find decent parking. The hotel turned me on to an app called SpotHero for parking which ended up turning out to be a great app!

Great property for proximity to Wrigley field. Check in process was not smooth, one of the negative things I can say Room was great! It was fairly quiet My first recommendation would be to add small fridges to each room. My other negative are the extra fees and no explanation as to what they are for. But perfect for a quick getaway for location Also bonus would be if you could work out a parking situation somewhere nearby . Lots of communication from the staff, just wish check in process was smoother

Excessive "resort" fees get tacked on after sale. Grifting you into accepting bottled water, coffee and gift certs to restaurants miles away in exchange for a deceivingly lower list price. Very small pillows. Understaffed. No fridges or microwaves. Single barely working ice machine. If you're not aware, Wrigleyville is a very loud party district. You will be hearing dance music and people screaming till well after 2am. Great location if you want to be part of that atmosphere.

Loved the decor. Proximity to Wrigley was great. The check in was super easy. Really disliked no fridge in the room and no ice machine. We had no way to keep things cold. And no hooks or way to hang anything in the bathroom was weird. Also the additional fees tagged on were ridiculous. Real shady. The actual room was clean and had great decor. The beds were comfortable.

I hated there was no parking

Great location to Wrigley but a few things to consider. There is no on site parking and you can’t park on street at game time. We spent almost $200 in parking for the two days we were there. Also, there is no one in premise the whole time so when our keys stopped working, we had to text several times to resolve it to get back into hotel. It was a nice building and had nice rooms and it was a lesser expensive option.

The hotel itself was nice and right in the heart of all the Wrigleyville action. This site has no onsight staff so when our key briefly didn’t work to get in the building we were left standing in the cold. There is a number to call but it was inconvenient at 2 am in the cold. Parking was also difficult as it was really busy and there is no parking within close proximity. This made getting luggage etc loaded and unloaded difficult. This was not mentioned that I saw on the website. The comfort and cleanliness were great rooms were cute.

Although having to use the key box and being sent a code SOUNDS easier, the key box didn’t work. The code they sent use did not work. It was 95 degree outside and we were standing there for 30 minutes with all of our bags waiting for someone (after given attitude over the phone.) Once we got into our room the sink in the bathroom did not drain and my boyfriend had to unclog it. Nasty. There was no hand soap. Hair all over the bathroom floor. Finger prints on the mirrors. Nice location but service and cleanliness need ALOT ALOT ALOT of work. This hotel has ALOT of potential though.

Very clean and had a lot of character. We were comfortable, felt safe and was quiet. Very close to Wrigley and dining, bars and shops.

Horrible service, unclean room, dirty bed, mosquitos etc

I’ve stayed at this property several times. The beds both had dirty bedding. No way it wasn’t noticeable just ignored. Called help number and comforter was changed. Woke up with bug in bed- just gross. Should have had entire bedding in both beds changed, but was exhausted and it was late. Should get discount credited to my next scheduled stay in September.

I usually don’t write reviews but my sister and I stayed here for a concert at Wrigley Field and it was not a good experience. Upon arrival check in was pretty smooth because fortunately I had read the emails and completed the online check in procedure as required, plus they had an onsite person that day assisting with check ins. However, once we arrived at our room we instantly noticed the entry point/lock on the door had been damaged. This was odd because the door only required a key tap to enter so how the lock ended up damaged that way was very concerning and whether the door was secure. Also one of our beds had stained sheets which were never replaced after notifying the hotel. Our patio door did not lock and the screen door was broken. Not to mention the patio is shared with another room and separated by a short fence. All of these issues were documented and reported to the hotel in which they responded that they were aware of the front door and it just looked like that but wasn’t actually an issue and “thanks for informing us” of the other issues. Considering we paid over $500 for one night in this hotel before deposits and fees, it’s reasonable to expect better conditions. We did not feel safe or secure in our room from either entry point and they showed little to no concern about it. The place itself is in a great location and has a nice concept. It could be a great stay if they maintained the property in better conditions and fixed issues as they arise.

The rug in the room was very dirty, especially by the bed (room 206); luckily there were lots of clean towels, so I just covered the rug with a towel. The TV remote was pretty defective, making it very hard to change the channel. There is a mandatory fee of about $60--I was trying to save money by staying here so this was weird.

The property was perfectly located for my one night stay. The hotel is a no frills, no amenity, clean, comfortable facility. Bed is comfortable. Facility is a bit worn and aged. Could use more attention to maintenance and upkeep.

We loved our room and balcony. Our room had bunk beds and a double bed. The balcony had an awesome view and we enjoyed the rooftop outdoor space as well. The location could not be beat for a Cubs game and a night out.

The location to Wrigley field was excellent! The dead bolt on room 303 wouldn’t lock so that was a little unnerving!!

This is a great hotel to stay in if you are in town to enjoy the local nightlife. The surrounding bars stay open until 2:00am, and the pounding bass they produce was too much for me to be able to sleep until they closed. But if noise is not a problem for you, I think you will probably be very happy with this location.

This is a really fun place to stay if you are a baseball fan. Lots of fun baseball decor and wall decor in common areas, and the room was clean with a minimalist vibe. It would have been nice to have more baseball related decor in the room, but it was fine. The hotel staff from reception to housekeeping was all very friendly.

Extremely small room with a brick wall view. 3 sodas & 3 waters for $99 amenity fee. Parking garage is $195 for events overnight! Bathroom & movie channels were great!

Room was nice, clean, comfortable, however when we arrived it was rather warm in the room and the A/C was slow to bring the temperature down. Fortunately we were going to the baseball game soon after arriving so by the time we got back to the room, hours later,not was almost do n to the temperature we wanted. Another issue, we could not take advantage of the coupons for drinks because the bar was closed quite early. I believe it was 10pm.

The self-check-in process was a mess. There is an option to pay in person listed, and I chose to do this because I did not have my card near me. When I arrived is when I found out there are no humans on-site, and did not have access to the building. I called and they said it is because I did not add a credit card during the pre-check-in. None of this information is listed in the instructions. Once I added payment, then I was given a code to get the key out of a lock box located on the outside of the building. The key did not work in my room and I had to spend over 30 minutes trying several different lock boxes to find a key to work for the correct room. All of this caused me to be late for my event. I turned the A/C on to cool the room for my return, but the room was still hot when I got in late at night. The A/C was broken.

Great location to Wrigley, the bars, and food. Nice coffee bar. A bit overpriced overall in my opinion. Very clean and nice property. Our bathroom door was a sliding door with no latch and often would come open if not perfectly closed. Staff brought us a bucket of pops and water after check in which was very nice. We did have a hiccup with room number/keys when we arrived but there was someone at the desk available to help at 4p.

They use a unique business model with a remote guest services team, however, they will only respond to your texts & calls the day you are set to check in, which can be problematic if you happen to have ANY issue that you may need to discuss prior to arriving in a new city. If you are going to be remote, fine, but respect the game when you receive texts or calls from your guests. The room & property are fine, however, they charge you an extra $50 per person for amenities that you don't see. So don't be fooled by the low rate, as you might as well take the additional $100 and stay at a hotel with humans.

Communication is horrible and if there is an issue with the room it better be found before 10pm because after that there is no one on site.

The hotel is nice but the front desk assistant was terrible, they were never there and they never answer the phone.

If I could give zero! I would. I booked through a third party app. Got to the hotel not a single person working. Only communication to even get into the building was via text. For context I booked a King room for my wife's Birthday. Once I gained access what did I find?? A dorm room I kid you not, bunk beds BUNK BEDS. No help from the staff AT ALL. I would not recommend this hotel to even Joe Biden!

Checked in and waited for text with code. Never got it and had to call in. Wifi code wasn't written down for me, and housekeeper didn't have it. Texted the customer service line and they took hours to reply w/the code. Only got the code from another guest.

Went to check into our room and they told me they over booked the hotel and that I could no longer stay there

Room was great. Bathroom is nice. The check in process is weird since it’s all via text which can totally spike your anxiety when they aren’t super responsive. Not sure it’s worth the price and additional fees. The location is good if you want a solid bar scene and literally 400 steps to Wrigley.

I never received my code to get my keycard, although I arrived several hours early, I was contact 7 hours after "check in" to enjoy my stay but still never got my keycard code. I was scammed out of $300 and their manager refused to refund me.

NIGHTMARE. Booked for an overseas family member visiting for Christmas. Hotels.com was simple. Everything else was catastrophic. Visitor was asked to send a photo of himself and his photo ID prior to arrival. He responded immediately, but got three additional emails asking again, then he was asked to send photos of me, MY ID and my AMEX. Why would they need these photos? On arrival day, I got a barely legible email saying my credit card was declined. When I asked what amount was being attempted, i was given an amount higher than Hotels.com rate. They insisted there were "extra taxes." Charge went through (?) so I was supposedly "all set now." The agent said she'd ask about early checkin, but never called back. Still no checkin info at 415pm. Received illegible email that my card was declined. I'd already been told the room charge went through. Now, i was told additional $125 was due (more than the room rate?) for "incidentals." This is a no-service, unstaffed hotel. What incidentals? When i questioned this, the agent aggressively talked over me, shouted at me, put me on hold, and hung up. No response to my callback. Lockbox did not work at 430pm, 730pm or 1030pm. Had to call emergency after-hours line outside in the cold and rain. Guided to another (unlocked) lockbox and switched to a new room at 11pm. Property then reported to Hotels.com that we were a "no show." What??? Other guests shared similar stories with my visitor. Awful hotel experience. NEVER AGAIN.

The hotel is comfortable and the location is right in the middle of all that Wrigleyville has to offer. The room itself was clean and comfortable, the lobby is small but cozy, and bathroom/showers are great. The downside for the hotel was staff and communication. There was staff on site for only one of the four days. Checking in was extremely difficult and the phone check-in attendant was both hard to understand and lacking in basic hospitality. If the issues around checking in were resolved, I would stay here again.

Wonderful location! Wrigley Field is a three minute walk. Lots of excellent restaurants and bars literally les than 100 steps outside the hotel door. Addison L stop is a seven minute walk. Very walkable neighborhood

Great location for a trip to a Cubs game and very convenient to other parts of the city.

Lovely hotel, chic, clean and great location. Only downside was that it was really noisy because of the nightlife. Recommend bringing a sound machine.

The hotel had no on-site staff. We had to call a phone number to get our room key and were put on hold for a long time. The room only had hand soap—shampoo and conditioner had to be picked up from downstairs. The toilet paper roll in our room was already half used. A perk was receiving three free drinks from the bar next door. A nice spot to check out is Cheesy, located right across the street.

I was told I would receive a text of when my room was ready and how to pick up my key. I never received it. Had to ring the doorbell to get someone to help me. Very confusing and concerning on whether or not I had a room. Multiple transactions were charged to my card which was also concerning. In the end, charges were reversed. Additional $50 was added for amenities which was basically just 6 drinks. This should be included in original price since you cannot decline it if you do not want to use any of the amenities listed.

We've been traveling for over 30 years and this hotel is the worst hotel that we've ever stayed at. The service is mostly nonexistent and argumentative. Their idiotic check in process left my family locked out of the hotel in the freezing cold with our luggage.The rooms are extremely loud. We could hear everything our neighbors were doing and the noise from the bars kept us up until 2am. I really like this Hotel. Even though it was mostly contact less they were very attentive reaching out via message. The only thing I not so sure about is the $49 amenities fee since i only stay a couple night arriving late the first one I only used the bottle water they included which I appreciated. Besides that its about 4 blocks from Wrigley field & surrounded by nightlife. The bars & street can be a little noisy but not terrible & That was even if a bar crawl (mustache crawl) & kpop (Ateez) concert going on in the same night. I didn't visite the attached bar but did check oit the roof deck which glhad beautiful views. In all I would definitely stay again.

Less than a block from Wrigley Field. It’s a no frills urban hotel. Smartly updated. Self serve coffee and tee in the lobby/lounge. Staff maybe remote. Thankfully, someone was onsite when we called the service desk as we had not received the box code to get our keys. Their check in is all online.
