Stayed 4 nights

My husband & I stayed 4 nights recently. The hotel is just as pretty in person as it is online. The rooftop pool was beautiful, we didn’t make it to the pool on the 1st floor but it was calling our name every time we walked past it. Cat at the front desk checked us in, she was wonderful. PROS: • Friendly Staff • Clean Hotel • Our room stayed COLD • Yummy Food (eggs at breakfast, burgers, fries, grilled chicken, mexican street corn - all DELICIOUS) • Towels Always Smelled Nice • Great Location - Walking distance to restaurants & shopping CONS: • Our bed was FIRM. And we don't sleep on a pillowtop at home ▪︎ F I R M. • They don't provide free bottled water, only a carafe. Granted they will fill it as often as you like but it was a little bit of a pain. • They ask you not to flush toilet paper. I assume this is because the location is in the City & not in the big touristy areas, I don't know. We've never been asked that on any of our trips to MX so it was unexpected. So go with a little travel bidet from Amazon ($9). • There isnt a lot of room for clothing. No drawers, just 6 or so hangers & a couple of shelves. But there is plenty of room for toiletries.

Stayed 5 nights

We had the most incredible stay at Layla - this was for our honeymoon and it couldn’t have been more magical. The pool area is stunning and our room was lovely and spacious - the balcony a great addition as was the walk in shower. Breakfast was delicious, and made even better by Michael who was so attentive - we looked forward to seeing him every morning! Location is ace, and so easy to explore central Tulum - if you want to go further afield the concierge were to hand and organised everything seamlessly. Food was fab - my husband was particularly taken with the charred corn and tropical ceviche. Overall, fantastic, and if we ever return to Tulum, we would be staying here.
