The staff here were great, especially Linda who worked to keep the breakfast area stocked. She was super friendly and always had a smile. Housekeeping staff was also very friendly. The breakfast was better than most hotels we’ve stayed at. The walking trail behind the property was quiet and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wasn’t sure whether I was going to be keen on this property, but it turned out to be great. Room was spacious and well appointed. Full breakfast was great. Coffee (including iced) and tea all day. Nice gym. Restaurant on the property was great too. Would return.

Very nice hotel, clean, nice size rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast room was a nice size, plenty of seating with a nice assortment of food. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again.

We have stayed here before and love the location and amenities. The breakfast here is one of the best. This quaint hotel does not have an elevator so keep that in mind. It is only 2 floors but if you have a good amount of luggage plan accordingly. I believe you can request a first floor room prior to your arrival by contacting the hotel.

Great breakfast. Nice chair in room (sometimes I have to sleep sitting up.) Staff friendly. We had an ev and we’re happy that you had a charging station. However you only had 2 chargers and they were really slow. We’re afraid we wouldn’t have access so had to stay close to the hotel and and worried a lot. We will stay again.

This place was great! It's got a lot of character, and the staff were super friendly. We especially were delighted at the free soup and hot towels available. There was a game room that we spent time in as a family playing games and putting together a puzzle. We also found a piano upstairs that my son enjoyed playing. There is an attached restaurant with even more character, I loved it! It felt like you were walking into an old English inn. The food was delicious, and service was excellent. I'd definitely stay here and eat here again!

This place was so charming from the minute we pulled in. They gave you infused hot towels and cookies at check-in. NO ELEVATOR!!!! I do not like that hotels do not keep their restaurants open, as was the case for us. It was a Sunday. The beds were great, pool was great, desk help was great. Phillys down the street had great food. Free parking! What a nice change of pace from the ordinary hotel room!

Their restaurant is closed on Sunday’s and Monday however they offered a fantastic free breakfast. I was very appreciative of the dedicated gluten free space for toast and bagels. The pool is quite small and outdated and was cold. We appreciated the free EV charging as well.

Older property that has been redone. The front desk staff were all very nice and helpful. An afternoon treat (cookies or bites of cake) is provided to guests at the front desk each day which is a nice thing to do. A Breakfast Buffet is provided daily. Apart from the fact that the room wasn't super clean (if you don't have to look under the beds, don't mind if there's hairs in the shower and that the coffee machine wasn't cleaned in the past few months -hello dust-), the staff was super friendly and beds were confortable. Breakfas was good too.

Been here before & find it very nice and accommodating but this was not my favorite room, location was great but upon entering spilled some water & when I wiped it up the towel was dirty from wiping the floor so guess they didn’t mop it, but the rest of the room and bath were very clean

The hotel is fairly dated. The hallways, reception, common areas are dated and often dirty. I don't know how the hotel got such good ratings. The breakfast was really average, not great. The interior of the room was updated, thank goodness, but the partial glass shower door was poorly designed and the shower water sprayed on the floor of the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend this hotel due to it's dated condition. The service was good though as we forgot the phone and the reception called us to let us know.

The first impression entering the property are the potholes in the driveway and parking area. The lobby is nice enough, and at first glance, the room seemed nice. However, the room was extremely dusty. The bathroom mirror was coated in dust. There were hairs from previous guests on the bathroom counter. There were ants on the bathroom floor. And the pillows were the most astonishingly bad pillows I've seen in any hotel (or even motel) in my life. I've definitely had a better pillow at a Motel 6. I think this place could be reasonably nice if they put any effort into it, but that is evidently not happening.

The hotel was great but our room was not very clean. It was dusty and the bathroom needed a very good deep clean. There was mildew and mold around the drains and in the corners of the shower pan. The floors had not been swept well. The breakfast was amazing and the location was good.

This was our second stay at the hotel. It is really wonderful and the breakfast is over the top delicious and plentiful. Our room on the second floor was spacious and well appointed but the bathroom floor was not well slept or mopped . The towels are nice and thick though and of high quality. The bed had a couple of hairs on the sheets and one pillow case was turned inside out . Other than that the stay was great. I would definitely speak to housekeeping about upping their game .

Overall amazing stay. Breakfast was the highlight of the visit. The newly renovated rooms are lovely, but the shower pressure leaves a lot to be desired. There is also no door on the shower so the water gets everywhere in the bathroom. Staff were kind and helpful and made our stay one of a kind!

The only negative I could say is that the showers should a door that closes so the water isn’t all over the floor and it would have been nice if they had smart tv’s but other than that great stay

There was staff training during check-in. That’s fine. People have to learn sometime, however there was a distinct musty odor in the room. Since I was only staying one night it wasn’t an issue, however, given the odor the room shouldn’t have been rented. There’s a restaurant on property. It’s nice. It’s convenient. After a long day’s drive it’s nice to sit down, relax and have a nice meal with drinks. I appreciated that. It’s a nice place. I’m not sure what the issue was with the room and the odor however I’ll likely give the place another try since they make an effort to be a full service hotel with a reasonable price

Walls too thin. I was on the first floor, at eye level with card in the lot btw, and I could hear the guest in the room above literally peeing in the toilet. The guest was clearly a man. It was loud, as if hitting the water from a distance. Then I heard a flush. Bad food, bad decor. The TV reception was poor. Bad location. Over priced for what it is. Staff watched me struggle with my bags, no offer to help.

Room was nice, updated and comfortable. The rest of the hotel needed to be updated. This was one of the quietest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. I couldn't hear people walking around above or next door, no doors slamming, it was like we were there alone. The included breakfast was good.

Charming property in colonial decor. All the staff was pleasant and helpful. Great little tavern attached to the hotel. Spacious room. My favorite was the open closet concept with counters for belongings. I like the walkable courtyard as well.

This is clearly an older hotel, but it has been remodeled and the rooms are quite spacious in comparison to what you find at a newer hotel in the area. We were on the first floor on the same side of the parking lot and it was so quiet! Beds were comfortable, room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and was exceptional - great selection, great quality, wonderful service. We will stay here again!

The fire alarm went off at about 4:50 am and the staff later told us that it has happened more than a few times before! That’s just wrong when the management doesn’t care about the customers losing sleep ! No one was at the front desk when we tried to check in and the stairs are a drag to take the suitcases on.

I’ve lived in Latham for years and, while dealing with a home repair, I booked a night at The Century House—partly for convenience and partly out of curiosity. Sadly, the experience was very disappointing and not worth the $150+ per night price tag. At check-in, I was greeted by a front desk woman (I believe her name was Za—a heavier-set, middle-aged woman) who was shockingly rude and condescending. I asked whether debit cards were accepted for incidentals—a common question—and she replied sarcastically, “If you have no money on it, then no.” It was unnecessarily insulting and set an uncomfortable tone for my stay. I tried not to take it personally, but professionalism should be standard in hospitality. The first room I was given smelled strongly of mildew, had stained furniture, non-working AC, and felt totally neglected. I called the desk and was moved to a better room, which I appreciated, but the damage was done. In hindsight, I should’ve booked the Hampton Inn or Hotel Trilogy. I wanted to support a local, historic spot—but I won’t be returning or recommending it. Had Za been even remotely polite, I might’ve overlooked the room issues. But when bad service meets poor upkeep, it leaves a lasting impression—and not a good one. I’m honestly baffled by the positive reviews. I wanted to support a local, historic spot—but I won’t be returning or recommending it. Had Za been even remotely polite, I might’ve overlooked the room issues. But when bad service meets poor upkeep, it leaves a lasting impression—and not a good one. I’m honestly baffled by the positive reviews. Maybe they’re from wedding guests or nostalgic diners, but my experience was far from pleasant

Wonderful weekend stay at the Century House and would definitely return. The staff was very friendly. And there were such nice little touches including an extensive hot breakfast with a dedicated toaster for gluten allergies, and complimentary soup, cookies, and beverages in the lobby.

The overall property was OK. It is not in great condition, but it was fine. However, the front desk staff a check in and throughout a visit was extremely unfriendly and not helpful at all. We felt like we were a bother and not customers. We will not stay there again.

A new person was working at the front desk. Without any help on a busy Saturday-the hotel was fully booked-it to her a long time to check us in. The check in process was cumbersome and duplicative of information already provided when making the reservation. We love the hotel and are confident the check in process will improve.

No elevator, be prepared to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs if you are on the 2nd floor. Breakfast tasted like leftovers (French toast) not warm. Poor evening staff. Complementary coffee in the lobby was always cold, but great cookies at 3pm. When I went down early to grab a cup of coffee I got to hear the day staff complain about the night staff, even though they were correct. Loud and smelly room AC. Nice pool. Good location. Employees from the Lexus dealership next door used prime guest parking spots. The first days stay there was a car in the parking lot up on 4 jacks missing wheels and tires.

This was an awesome hotel. It was historic and well kept. Check in was easy and the location was great. We were in town to go to the Baseball Hall of Fame ceremony in Cooperstown and this was a good location to make the day trip from. They had a good breakfast selection (hot) and great hospitality.

Rooms were large and well kept, staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet was vert good, in addition to the usual offering there was a large assortment of fresh fruit, hummus, and fixings for egg tacos (tortillas, salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese). Although located on a busy highway, the property is set back far enough that we did not hear a sound (on Friday night) and the view out our window was of lawn and trees out back. A very reasonable price for the quality involved. Highly recommended.

Location is great and the young lady at check in was super sweet! Our room wasn’t ready when we got here, so we stepped in the room off of check in lobby and played a few games of tic tac toe. Our room was very nice and super spacious! Would definitely stay again if we are in the area!

I"ve stayed many times when on biz in the albany area, and look forward to it every time. Checkin is always smooth, plus there's always hot coffee, ice water and usually some type of snack: cookies/brownies and even hot soup/chili during the winter. The (included) breakfast is a+. Real scrambled eggs, plus the chef (BB who is super friendly) will do some special for you, ie;poached. A yogurt parfait bar is always available including fresh strawberries and blueberries. This place is a hidden gem.

Comfortable, big room that had everything I could need. I would definitely stay there again. They also have a great buffet breakfast that came with the room. There is an attached restaurant but it's closed on Sundays and Mondays (I was there on a Monday).

Their restaurant is closed on Sunday’s and Monday however they offered a fantastic free breakfast. I was very appreciative of the dedicated gluten free space for toast and bagels. The pool is quite small and outdated and was cold. We appreciated the free EV charging as well.

The lady who attended the breakfast buffet was super friendly and constantly checked to see if there was anything that I needed. The front desk lady was also very friendly and helped me with directions to my next stop. They both rate an A+.

Breakfast was good and the person overseeing it was very friendly and pleasant. The room was not very clean, if you walked on the floor barefoot the soles of your feet came away black. The shower ended up soaking the bathroom floor causing a safety issue, I had to use an extra towel to mop it up. The parking lot and driveway had numerous potholes and needed repaving. The pictures on the site do not tell a truth story and I was disappointed overall and will not be returning or recommending this hotel.
