My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 days and it was a really nice time. The only reason we are giving it 4/5 stars is because our toilet seat was broken in our room and there is very minimal lighting. Wish there was one more lamp in the place. Overall the place was very clean and the nature outside was super pretty. I just wish I would’ve known how bad the bugs are, so bring the bug spray! There’s a public fire pit you can buy wood and chill out by the bay. It was really quiet yet close to so many restaurants and less than 10 min to the beach. The complimentary breakfast was communal and just really quaint and cute. We would definitely recommend!

Property was good for it to be a motel best one in the area rooms are very small you get what you pay for they have alot of amenities around the property & free transportation to the boardwalk which is 10 minutes away

7 of 10. The staff was awesome. The open/outdoors space was awesome, including seating on a dock running along side a canal. Pool was dirty on top and bottom of water. I wouldn’t get in but other guests who did all commented it was dirty. Room was tiny, rustic with only boards attached to the walls serving as furniture. It was noisy as it sounded like someone was running around above me all night but I was on the top floor. Someone was slamming things around somewhere as my bed often shook. The bathroom was more modern. Nothing much in walking distance but plenty just a short drive away. Not bad but highly overrated.

Our room was very clean and clearly recently renovated with gray flooring, paint, and an updated bathroom. Small room but set-up with a long counter on one wall for snacks, travel coffee maker, etc. It was all we needed for a short beach getaway. A/C worked well! Delightful outdoor areas with a little boardwalk next to a creek with Adirondack chairs for quiet views and a grassy area with tables, outdoor grills, volleyball net and playground for younger kids. Not far from the inlet or Assateague. Very pleasant stay!

Room was neat and clean. There was far too much scent spray in the room which made it uncomfortable. The room was better on the second day when the scent lessened. Breakfast was not worth going to.. Pool was a nice temperature and grounds were well kept.

Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful and polite. They were very accommodating and were always giving us fresh towels. Room was clean and smelled clean. The property was very relaxing and peaceful. We would definitely stay there again

There was a roach-looking bug crawling on the bed and pillows, I took pictures and showed the office, they went on argue that the bug wasn’t a “big deal.” They offered to switch rooms, but after what I saw I wanted a refund, which was refused. Wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We only stayed one night while we were in town for Sunfest, but I would stay here again any other time. The room was immaculate and very well laid out for being a single room with a bathroom. The grounds were tidy and the staff were friendly, helpful, and informative.

The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and tidy. The people upstairs were extremely noisy but that's not the facilities fault, and we fortunately had a sound machine so our baby wasn't woken up as constantly as we were. The only problem I had with the room was the mold in the bathroom. Definitely in need of mold remediation vs just continuing to paint and caulk over the problem. We did enjoy our stay but due to this we wouldn't stay here in the future unfortunately for health reasons

Mold all over the bathroom ceiling and absolutely filthy shower curtain and bathtub. The mold made for a miserable night's sleep. We did inform staff--we will see what happens with the information. Aside from the mold and bathroom filth, we liked the location, the playground, and the swimming pool. The staff was nice. Filthy bathrooms and moldy ceilings can be fixed. We are hoping that this location will make those changes because we would like to be able to return someday.

This was a cute little property. Rooms were very small, but they were just like the picture. Unfortunately when we checked in the whole floor was covered in sand. I get that this is a beach hotel, but this hotel was not actually anywhere near the beach. All it would have taken was a good vacuuming. Bed was average. Bathroom was nice. AC unit couldn’t keep up so it was constantly running and still rather hot in the room during the day. Breakfast was just prepackaged food. I won’t go back to this property.

The property is an quiet and peaceful setting with a small creek and bulkhead. The one bed unit in the motel closest to the water was clean, the bed was average but the room is very, very small (approximately 190 square feet). Breakfast was not much to talk about with just coffee, yogurt and cold cereal.

Staff was friendly, property was well managed and very clean. Loved the small dock and picnic area. Very quiet area. Stayed in motel room; small but clean, however walls are THIN and if you have active neighbors you definitely hear EVERYTHING. I do wish they had a little more of a breakfast selection such as bagels or muffins but they still offered something which is nice. Would definitely stay in cabin or cottage next time!

It’s a standard motel. our room smelled of pine sole so bad! You opened the door and it hit you hard. We went to dinner came back and just as bad. The walkways and stairs were wooden and old and when anyone walked you would hear it through your room. Kids on first floor running up and down the walkway didn’t help at 10pm either. The blinds let way to much light in at night even when we covered it with a sheet. It was a stopover for our trip to OBX so it we dealt with it. But you get what you paid for. Maybe the cottages are better?

The ground was cleaner and more organized than anticipated. The room was small with barely any lights. It had a spot light which was hardly enough to light up the room. We had to use our phone flashlight to read the WiFi pass. The bathroom was clean. The only real problem was the mattress. I could live with the other things but the mattress was absolutely horrible. I knew the minute I sat down we weren’t going to have a good sleep. We tossed and turned the entire night due to the mattress having zero support. The pillows didn’t help. As the night went on, my neck, my back were in so much pain and discomfort, by the time we woke up, I thought I was paraplegic from the neck down. I kid you not. This place need to seriously invest in some good mattresses for their patrons. This is not acceptable. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. You will go in with ur whole body in tact feeling good, and walk out next day paraplegic.

Liked the price and location. AC was loud and blinds allowed outdoor lights to shine in even when closed at night. Wished they had curtains instead of blinds. Overall, good experience. At the front desk during our stay, heard a lady complain about bugs in her room. I didn’t experience it myself but the lady who complained was only 3 doors down.

Property was very clean. Our room appeared to be newly remodeled. It was small but was all we needed for an overnight stay. We had the room with 1 queen bed. My only complaint was the bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was very lumpy.

People above us were noisy all night and staff did nothing about it after repeated calls. Floor had soft spots everywhere. Got there and it smelled like an entire bottle of pinesol was used to clean. Not sure what they were trying to cover up

Great experience at the Beach Bum West O! We were in town for the Boardwalk Rockfest and the hotel treated us like royalty. Basic room but very clean and met all expectations. The staff was very caring and asked several times if we had everything we needed. The shuttle bus to the festival was a fantastic added bonus and was flawless drop off and pickup.

I enjoyed my stay very much, the manager even made accommodations for me, because I booked through Expedia with an age of 20. Apparently they only let people 21 and older stay. But she was nice enough to let me and my younger brother stay.

Staff: Upon check-in, the guy that checked us in was unhelpful. The young women working breakfast area were great. Room: Typical motel room with a busted TV. Grounds: Ok except there was a homeless-looking man sleeping in his pick-up near our room. Proximity to stuff: About 2 miles or so from attractions. Overall: You get what you pay for. It's ok.

We only stayed one night while we were in town for Sunfest, but I would stay here again any other time. The room was immaculate and very well laid out for being a single room with a bathroom. The grounds were tidy and the staff were friendly, helpful, and informative.

The point man at the front office fantastic great personality very good representative the staff is wonderful the room that we had was immaculate it was just great the price was right drive a little bit to the beach if you need to save a lot of money room is just a place to sleep anyway I would come back again

Wonderful motel with a top notch staff. The pond out back was so beautiful, and our stay was so great . We loved it so much we stayed there again on our way back from Vermont to Myrtle Beach. They were able to help us out by booking directly with them. We were late getting in, but they took care of us by making sure everything was ready when we arrived. This was a solid 5 Stars!!!

My family and I had a very pleasant stay in late June. We stayed in the motel portion. The check in process was simple. The room was no frills but clean and comfortable. The property is peaceful and attractive. Staff were nice. They offer a shuttle to the boardwalk during peak season. Breakfast is adequate but nothing special. Just the minutes from downtown OC. We're looking forward to coming back in the future.

Very clean, Nice staff. Around 10-13 minutes from ocean city beach. Room walls aren’t noise proof so you can hear sounds from other people in rooms close to you.

I like the property because of it being quiet and not in the middle of all the ruckus, coastal highway. Some things are walkable, definitely if you have a bike or an e bike. Some fast foods or available, whereas not available in town.

I had a rare three day weekend in mid April so I decided to head to Ocean City, MD. Beach Bum has tow locations in OC, but I chose the one in West OC for something new. It was very convenient to OC proper, just 2000 feet from a WaWa, one mile from the outlet center, and 2 miles from the inlet bridge. I was able to get to Fracture Prune, Thrashers, and Beach Bike Rentals within minutes. The room was small but comfortable. It was exactly what I needed for a solo traveler. The common room where the continental breakfast was provided and the playground facilities would be great for kids for after-beach or non-beach days during the summer. I will likely go back. Service was rated average as there was not much interaction with the staff. I picked up my key one day, and dropped it off the next at breakfast. The breakfast offering was cereal and yogurt but may be expanded in menu and hours during the summer. My only complaint was that the shower curtain was too short and allowed shower water to drip onto the new bathroom floor, soaking the floor mat and puddling on the floor.

We had a wonderful visit! The property is clean, well maintained with a variety of activities! Our room was newly and completely renovated. It was perfect! Very convenient to restaurants, movie, supermarket, etc. Close to Assateague National Park. Will stay here again on our next visit to the area.

Staff was friendly, property was well managed and very clean. Loved the small dock and picnic area. Very quiet area. Stayed in motel room; small but clean, however walls are THIN and if you have active neighbors you definitely hear EVERYTHING. I do wish they had a little more of a breakfast selection such as bagels or muffins but they still offered something which is nice. Would definitely stay in cabin or cottage next time!

Beds were horrible and uncomfortable. Parking was terrible. Noise was loud and inconvenient. The so called breakfast was boxed cereal and watered down coffee. No coffee in rooms or phone for office help, which they weren’t there anyway. The cleaning staff got an attitude when asked for clean sheets

I was with my husband for 5 days. They told us there was breakfast, but it was just cereal, yogurt, and a cold sandwich. Horrible. During all those days, they didn't clean the room, they only changed the towels. Terrible.

The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and the motel was quiet . Not enough food at breakfast. I understand that people help themselves to more food if supply is bigger. However, do you want people to return? Here are some suggestions: a toaster , bread and jelly; more fruit ( bananas and blueberries can be used in oatmeal and cereal which you already provide.) ; and a bigger pitcher for milk. I believe these small upgrades will be more satisfying for your guests. Other than that, my stay was very pleasant and comfortable.

From checking in, it was a great experience. The staff was awesome! Couldn’t take part with the breakfast because we had to leave for our training before it was available. We wish it was available at 8, instead of 9. Would love to stay in a cabin next time!

Charged peak season prices for an off season stay during hurricane September. Even though nothing outdoor could be enjoyed. Also was asked to sign away my rights to secure protection of my belongings while on this property, waive their responsibility if I got robbed while away from my room. Literally the reason for a hotel room is to safely store your items while you’re on vacation. I did not, will never sign anything giving someone a greenlight to steal my stuff.
