the staff could have been more welcoming. ordered a taxi and was left waiting outside the hotel for 15minutes (having chased reception twice) before hailing my own cab. disappointed that the kitchen seemed to close early (before 9.30pm) and then being offered “the night menu” in my room only. at least i persuaded the barman to let me eat in the bar/reataurant area (at 945 when people were still finishing dinner around me). all in all, distinctly average, which for a Voco is disappointing (i stay at the Hague Voco all the time).

We really enjoyed our stay - friendly service, great views, good location. The bed definitely seemed smaller than the queen that we booked, and both treadmills in the gym were out of order but overall a nice stay.

This hotel is very convenient to the convention center and is walkable to the Royal Mile and sites in Old Town and New Town. There are a good number of dining options nearby and the restaurant on site is pretty good. The breakfast buffet is particularly good.

They charged me more than what I had given on my Expedia booking. Be careful with this hotel and check your bank statements. The front desk staff were not friendly and when talked to, it seemed that they were doing us a favour by talking to us. The girl who took my credit card for the payment was more occupied with her phone than trying to get us checked in. The parking situation is terrible! The safe in the room didn’t work, had to call them 3 times and each time one would show up and leave saying they would send someone else. It’s not a good hotel to stay in. Super expensive too for the terrible service.

This was my second stay at Voco Haymarket. I want to say how utterly marvelous the staff are. Super polite, helpful, capable, professional from front desk, house keeping to breakfast waitstaff. I think it is one of the best hotels I have stayed at because of the staff. It's also spotlessly clean, quiet with a wonderful breakfast buffet. Great restaurants nearby and an easy walk to the tram. It will always be my first pick when staying in Edinburgh.

We had a fabulous stay at Voco Edinburgh. The hotel and room was spotlessly clean, the housekeeping team are fantastic. Breakfast was the best breakfast we’ve had in a hotel for a long time, so much choice and amazing service. Bar also great in the evening, once again with amazing service. All in all a first class service from all staff we encountered, particularly the girls on the front desk! Our only fault would be the pillows, it would be great to have another option as these are too soft but of course that is personal preference.

Lovely Queen room (accessible) very spacious with great amenities - kettle and tea / coffee, very comfortable bed, extremely quiet, fridge and safe, ironing board and iron, hair drier, nice toiletries. Great service when TV remote not found - staff rushed up immediate with another. Great breakfast - hot and continental. Hotel is very new and immaculate would stay again. Very convenient for offices and centre of town for sightseeing and restaurants / bars.

I stayed for 2 days - hotel was generally great but on the first floor the lights illuminating the building were right in front of the window. This meant hate room was lit up all night despite blackout curtains. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and polite. The room was also clean and in good condition.

Breakfast was very good and included barista drinks (staff at breakfast were very kind). Room is spacious for area - only complaint is that we didn’t love the pillows. Great overall experience, walking distance to the main attractions. Clean and new renovated spacious room, i was upgraded to a room with jacuzzi for free. One thing I would only change is tap water filled bottles

Paid extra for a high floor room, expected somewhat of a view. Ended up having a view of a wall. I was disappointed with the soundproofing, you could hear every door on the floor slam shut, but when the next door over closed, it literally shook the room. Not worth the price.

Room was exceptionally cold, they had to give us a space heater. The tv streaming facility did not work and the tv spontaneously turned on every night. Both woke up with a sore back every day due to poor quality mattress. Only positive was that staff at reception were friendly.

Front desk was great with their welcome and check in. Rooms were efficient and bed comfortable. Very very small with cheap hardware but it looks nice for now. Terrible coffee situation in the room. Terrible hours on room service (starts at like noon). Breakfast was edible but not great. Staff were all Lovely.

Great stay. Staff are beyond courteous, helpful and attentive. Rooms were clean, well appointed and quiet. Would definitely stay again. Only note of critique is please have less (or no) air freshener in the lobby and rooms! I have fragrance sensitivities, and I had to hold my breath passing through the lobby. Couldn’t enjoy the lounge area, the fragrance smell was so strong. Also had to switch rooms upon check in because of it. Everything else was 5/5.

I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. Breakfast is a little hectic so go early. That said, the staff manage the crowds very well. The only negative (and I think this is true for most of the UK), the bedding sleeps terribly warm. All of the reception staff were nice. The only glitch we ran into was about the breakfast. We paid for it with our booking and when we initially inquired about it, we were told that we hadn't paid. We double checked the booking and asked another staff member and he confirmed that we had paid for it. Would absolutely stay there again.

Great central location, the staff were very helpful and very polite. We arrived at 10am and called in to drop our bags off. The gentleman on the desk checked if our rooms were ready and we checked in early. This made such a difference to our day.

The staff were amazing, I arrived very early and they didn’t have a room ready (totally understandable) but they directed me to an area where I could work and whilst I worked and had a cup of tea, the receptionist (who I now know was the duty manager) came across and gave me my key. The waiting staff and receptionists were all brilliant, always smiled and welcomed me as I walked past and was a pleasure staying there. Great location, rooms, facilities and quiet.

We had an average experience at this hotel. The customer service on the front desk leaves a lot to be desired and some of the staff were extremely abrupt. However the housekeeping staff and manager were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a minor problem with the water coming out of the bath having a bad smell but this was rectified by the housekeeping manager who was fantastic! I’m not sure we would come back as we thought the original price of the room was over priced and I’m glad we got it at a discounted price!

Amazing stay with my daughter and husband. Excellent location as we were able to walk from the train station. The Royal Mile was so close. We shared a room and used a sofa bed. It was a bit cramped but we expected that. Bar was great. We stayed 2 nights.

Really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great, good quality and plenty of options, although asked for it to be charged to our room and a few days later received an email stating we had an outstanding balance. A bit of an inconvenience. Staff were welcoming but not very forthcoming with information to help new travelers visiting Edinburgh for the first time.

We stayed for 1 night as we were attending the Taylor Swift Concert. All of the staff in the hotel were lovely and so welcoming. Room was a good size, room service was great quality and breakfast had a fantastic range. I will be booking this hotel for any future Edinburgh visits.

Stayed here with work colleagues whilst attending an event at ICC. This hotel is lovely, spacious rooms and really comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious with plenty to chose from on the buffet.
