Easy check in and check out process. Spa/sauna package was well worth it.

Great hotel. Great location. Party of 3. Checkin and checkout was very easy. Keyless and automated checkin and and checkout but if there is an employee in the front lobby, they will be there all day. Very helpful as well. Family mart nextdoor outside. Only con is only 2 laundry machines in basement floor and they dont work very well. Went to a laundry place down the block. Just as stated in hotel website, no toiletries such as toothbrush, etc. are given but can be bought in the lobby for a couple hubdred yen. Overall good place near everything. Would come again here.

The private spa was nice for our family of 4. Front staff who checked us in was pleasant and helped book our spa. The hotel is in a convenient location. Room was so clean and decor was pretty! Loved that there was a washer/dryer in our suite, but we had some issues understanding how to use it since it was in Japanese. Other than that, our stay was quite lovely!

Aside from a strange check-in experience (check-in is done entirely over the internet or with the help of an off-site concierge contacted through a tablet in the lobby), Minn was an enjoyable hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean and we made use of the span in the basement, reservable for a reasonable fee.

The spa was excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly.

10/10 clean, modern Japanese interiors. The Japanese family room was amazing. Location is perfection: near everything but still quiet. Clean and large and great layout for family of 4. The spa was a nice bonus!

Spa and sauna absolutely amazing. Location is also a plus and a slow run in the morning to Kiyomizu dera before the crowd made it extra special.

Nice and quiet area with private spa abd sunna room for booking. Near tourist area from walking distance within 5 min to 20 min. Great way to explore Kyoto.

Everything was good. the only negative point was related to SPA. when they advertised the property with SPA , they never mentioned that you can use if you pay an extra high fee. Other than that, everything was good

The Minn Gion is a very good choice. I gave it 4 stars becasue I am a hard marker. It is well located in the northern part of the Gion district but only 5 to 10 minutes walk due south to the heart of the district. Compact, clean rooms with kitchenette and amenities. While the on-site staff is hidden away, they are responsive. Anthing related to check-in and queries about the booking are handled virtually by video call in the lobby. No amenties such as food or drink in the lobby but small resturants, Lawsons, near by and Freshco grocery 7 minute walk. I do reccomend for those who like a house-keeping unit in a quiet neighbourhood and not much extra hotel amenities.

Great location, so very convenient. However, the reasons I am giving the accommodation a 3/5 are three-fold. First, upon arrival the room was not thoroughly cleaned. There was a coffee stain on the table; crumbs of food in the fridge; and small pieces of trash on the carpet next to the kitchen counter. Second, the first night we had a miserable nights sleep because there was a motion detector light in front of the sleeping area, so every time we moved (or even coughed), multiple bright lights came on. Imagine this happening twenty times throughout the night. The next day when I tried to get help with the issue via the webcam help desk it didn’t go as smoothly and quickly as one would help. Then lastly, we booked the sauna/onsen and were informed to meet up in the lobby ten minutes before our booking. A couple of minutes after our booking we decided to contact the webcam receptionist since no one showed up. If we didn’t do this, it seems like we were completely forgotten. I understand that this is not a full service hotel, but one should be able to expect cleanliness, a decent night’s sleep, and that a

Everything about this stay was horrible during our 4 night stay - we had a non smoking room, but almost always there was smoke or food smell coming in the room through the hvac that we had no control over - when we arrived, the room didn’t have enough towels for 2 people - there was no way to request more towels - there was no one around to discuss any issues for the whole duration of the stay, there was always a sign saying “we are away for the moment”, the online service they offered was bad as the person on the other side couldn’t speak English - there was no cleaning of the room or towel replacement - the garbage was not taken out during the whole stay - there was a spilled drink at the hotel door which wasn’t cleaned for at least 3 days When clearing and preparing rooms for new guests the hotel staff just leaves fresh towels on the corridor carpet - just this part should say enough about how much the staff cares about the customers - see attached image

Stay away! Horrific check in process with poor automation, no one to help, only screens that connect you to a "live" operator via video chat that is often offline and useless when connected. I witnessed and experienced both several times,as did the half dozen guest in line before me and behind. When I finally got in the room, which I paid a fortune for an executive apartment, it smelled so foul from mold I requested to move. The black mold was heavily visible in both AC units amd was blowing throughout the apartment. They offered me a much more inferior room yet refused to price adjust. Untimately they moved me to a room that was still smaller than the one I prepaid for at a completely different hotel several blocks up the street. They still refused to provide a refund for the price difference and I essentially overpaid by several hundred dollars as a result. Expedia was of no assistance either. They refused to accept accountability despite the fact that I was in a materially different hotel and inferior room. They persist in requiring the property to issue a credit. The hotel itself was not even a hotel but a "serviced apartment." It was actually a very poorly serviced apartment, with sporadic staff, no ability to accept transported luggage or packages/deliveries. The place definitely has potential to be great but the way it is administered and operated is simply flawed. For the price point you are far better off at a traditional fully serviced hotel.

The room itself is fine (after we had someone clean the place since there was hair on the bedding and on the floor) but the check in process for this place is the worst. Since there’s no reception area you can’t have your bags shipped to the place like you can in a normal hotel, the area where they keep your bags until check in isn’t secured, you pretty much leave it in an open closet that any outsider can get to. If you’re lucky there’s a wire strap that you can tie a luggage handle to but I wasn’t able to use one. Once it’s time to check in you’re then thrown into confusion, there’s a QR code you scan to start the process which is fine, if the tech is sound then no problem but at one point you’re supposed to make a Teams call but to who I couldn’t figure out since there were at least a dozen users in this group, another customer who was staying there had to help me. After you figure that out then you’re in a call with someone who doesn’t have their camera on so I had no idea if I was talking to a real person or not and a lot of the conversation was lost in translation, half the time they just kept repeating “uh huh, yes.” Also the pre checkin process feels sketchy, why do I need to upload a picture of my passport to a service I’m not familiar with? I will say that the Japanese staff who was there on the first day was great, even though he didn’t speak a lot of English he came and cleaned the room, he’s been the one bright spot of this whole experience.

The property is immaculate, very clean, and the staff is very helpful/polite. They use a cloud check in/check out service that I thought was very quick, simple, and user friendly. I absolutely loved the location with amazing food options that are just a short walk. Highly recommend property to stay while in Kyoto.

Great location to transportation. The room was clean and had several amenities to help cook our own meals when we wanted.

Minn Gion was amazing and we would definitely stay here again. The rooms were very spacious with comfortable beds, big showers and nice kitchen area. The room and entire property was exceptionally clean. There is a small laundry area in the basement with 2 machines that were easy to use. We did laundry twice with no issues. The sauna and spa was very relaxing and it was nice that you could reserve the whole area for yourself. The property is walking distance from a train station and there is a Family Mart right next door. There are tons of restaurants withing walking distance as well as temples and other attractions. Would definitely recommend Minn Gion to anyone who is looking for a lovely stay in Kyoto!

Beaware before you book. The location is great. There are some annoying thing about this property. If you get the room thst sleeps 4 . There is a hall light in the apartment that comes on each time someone moves or walk in the hall. Due to the fact that it is small space, the light will shine when you are sleeping and will wake up people each time. We had only one plate in the kitchen. There is loud annoying noise buzzying at night. The air conditioner works but it is not powerful. These issues made the experience frustrating Positives are: location, walkabilitu of the srra and rrom was modern.

The rooms were big enough for a family of five, which is unusual in Japan… Typically for that many individuals you would need to book 2 different rooms

We passe one night here, it was good. The matress is hard. The room had everything we need. One thing find how turn off the automatic light before you sleep.

The property was nice and clean, self check-in was simple and easy. The room was very spacious with a kitchen. The only issue I had was that it was loud at night, you could hear people talking and loud cars/motorcycles even with all the windows closed and curtains drawn.

Hotel in great location. Feels more like an apartment than hotel. Comfy beds, pillows, soft blankets, living room with large sofa able to sleep 2, dining table, kitchen with dishes, pot, utensils, microwave, toaster oven. Family Mart next door open 24 hours. Walking to main downtown area only 15 min. Other restaurants nearby within 5 min. Washer/dryer combo machine in room very convenient, don't need to go outside for community laundry. Easy online check in/out. Easy to contact staff for help. Friendly staff helped me place order for take out food over the phone in Japanese and also helped me make a reservation for restaurant because the website wouldn't accept my name and phone number for reservations. Booked spa option. Spa was nice and clean and well stocked with towels and soap, shampoo, conditioner, face wash moisturizer and water. Spa included 4 shower areas, hot bath, cold bath, and sauna. Really appreciate the private booking so only our family has access and didn't have to share with others during our time. Really great hotel! Would come back again!

We enjoyed how spacious the room was. There were 3 adults and we didn’t feel cramped. The full kitchen was nice to have but what I liked the most was the washer/dryer combo in our unit. I did at least 1 laundry per day and left to our next location with all clean clothes. The location of Minn Gion was great as well. We could get to Nishikarket

This was our best room while in Japan. As a couple traveling with a teen, the "superior apartment" provided us with a spacious bedroom separated from the living room/kitchen where our daughter slept on the couch which was almost as comfortable as real bed. The kitchen is well equipped and it even features a laundry washing/drying machine. The apartment is well located, the area is quiet but still within walking distance from the animated area of Gionbashi and the metro station. A Family Mart store is literally next door. We had trouble figuring out how to turn on the kitchen's induction stove one evening so we had to contact the staff through their virtual service desk. Someone was here to help us within minutes. Highly recommended.

The standard family room was great! It was very spacious, clean and had an added bonus of a washer/dryer. My family loved the big shower room as well. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is modern, rooms are spacious and clean. But we never received a pre-registration link and my wife had a hard time checking in.

Good size for our family of 5. Clean, modern, comfortable. Walkable. Self Check-in was a bit annoying. But can stay again and can recommend.

For tourists who need help no receptionist is a problem

The hotel is brand new—clean, modern, and very comfortable. Its location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation and plenty of restaurants nearby, which made exploring the area very convenient. The staff was polite, though English was limited. Still, with some patience, we were able to communicate and get what we needed. One downside was that, despite booking with VIP status, there was no acknowledgment or recognition—not even a small gesture—which was disappointing. Additionally, access to the pool and spa requires a reservation and comes with an extra fee, which was unexpected for a hotel of this level. Overall, it’s a solid choice for its cleanliness and location, but there’s room for improvement in service and transparency around amenities.

Very comfortable hotel with a great location. The "smart" check in process is annoying and for us did not work at both Minn properties as hotels.com confirmation number is not the hotels reference number which causes confusion and needs assistance from humans that are not really there. They are there but they just tell you to use the online survey check-in process which is glitchy. We watched many travelers with similar issues.

I love the property, the location, the area around… however the staff-less service, not too fond of it. I had issues receiving an email with the code for the baggage locks (never received it, even though I send the form twice following the steps), and there was no one to assist. I felt it was very impersonal.

La comunicación no es muy buena. El hotel en la descipción dice que es self check in y en cuanto llegas el personal sale y no permite que lo hagas tu. Además en la aplicación menciona que este hotel es Vip Acces y esto no es así, pedí un UPGRADE y me dijeron que no manejaban está opción . Así que tuve que cancelar y volver a reservar para mejorar mi habitación. Poco accesibles en comunicación, pero la estancia estuvo bien al final. Muy buena ubicación. Valió la pena.

Great location, we could walk to so many places. Lovely stream just up the road. Plenty of space in the apartment and the toilet and shower were both the best out of everywhere we stayed in Japan.

Fantastic hotel within walking distance of a metro station. Very conveniently placed, being close to both a metro and a train station that’ll get you where you want to go in Kyoto. Quiet area, but also within walking distance of a popular downtown/commercial shopping district/market with lots of food options, so it’s an ideal location.

Great property, and a large room, for Japan. The Minn location was great for those with Gion/Kyoto on their list - close but not too close, for the foot traffic and noise. Great restaurants and walking nearby. The subway was a 5 minute walk away, which you'll learn in important, and a Family Mart attached to the property.

A perfect apartment type accommodation for a family of 4. Minn Gion is perfectly located near the hidden streets of Kyoto in the Gion region. The apartment itself was very comfortable, clean and had all the amenities needed to make our stay comfortable and convenient. A family mart is downstairs which made thinhs easier and walking distance to the local restaurants, markets and train stations

Location, location, location! Minn Gion is an easy walk from Hanamikoji-doori, Ponto-cho, and all of the madness at Sanjo Kawaramachi. For convenience, there is literally a Family Mart next door. The property itself is new and in good shape. The kitchen drawers were a little cheap, but that wasn't a problem. Our room was perfectly clean and pleasant, although unfortunately a guest dropped a plate of food in front of our door and we ended cleaning it up. That's just bad luck. We loved the easy check in (using a QR code), which was helpful because we got in quite late. Check out was easy, too. The door code was 9 digits long, which is great for security but not great for convenience. Overall, this was a solid choice and we would stay again. We would also recommend it to friends.

Loved our stay here. Very clean and self check in was actually quite easy. Thers a single washer and dryer downstairs but also a laundromat around the corner. Also a Family Mart attached tp the building - great for coffee and breakfast. Quad room is a bit tight at night but very doable with some organzation. Location is perfect - in a quiet srea but only a few minutes to get to the populated shopping area.

The suite was very modern. Was clean. Take shoes off at door, slippers providers. Easy checkin. Great location—two small groceries within 1 block. Walkable area—easy to walk to beige and cross too the restaurant district. I can’t say enough about out stay with them

酒店很簇新，辦理入住有職員幫忙，態度有禮。房間使用密碼鎖很方便，房內空間很大，爐具齊備：電磁爐、多士爐、微波爐、兩層式雪柜，廚具餐具通通齊全。煮早餐晚餐都沒問題，這是傳統酒店無法相比。 酒店位置方便及寧靜，樓下已有Family Mart, 100円便利店，無論步行往八坂神社或河原町都只需10分鐘內已到 地庫有桑拿，只需提前預約已可，遊覽一天回來浸泡後累氣全消。 唯一建議，因為不是任何時間都有職員在柜檯，如果有按鈴可以找職員幫手就理想了 我因為包車已到，但找不到職員，只好留下紙條告知退房了:)

Having the option to cook breakfast in the little kitchen was handy. The space was large by Japanese standards.

Si l’on descend à la station Sanjo au lieu de Gion-Shijo pour rejoindre l’hôtel alors l’environnement peut surprendre car c’est un quartier en devenir. Accès direct au quartier Gion qui est beaucoup plus paisible que du côté de Kawaramachi qui reste facilement accessible à pied. Notre appartement pour 2 ou 3 personnes était très fonctionnel, d’une superficie suffisante et disposait d’une cuisine et d’un canapé. Pas de petit déjeuner proposé. A recommander.

Hotel was really bad and not worth a price. I got vip access although spa/sauna was not free. There is no one available st staff pretty much the whole day. One person is managing entire staff in the hotel. No tea/coffee in the hotel. Amount paying for this hotel is not at all worth it. Spa/sauna Nd laundry is also not free. So much to improve to worth the price of this hotel. Would never recommend anyone.
