A one night visit to Perth was very well facilitated by the Sunbank House Hotel. Information sent to us in advance allowed us to plan our visit and thoroughly enjoy our stay. Location: on the Eastern bank of the Tay less than 15 minutes walk into the heart of Perth. There are 2 options - the path beside the Tay Viaduct or the roadway over South St bridge. Hospitality: outstanding from the moment we arrived and parked in the on-site spaces to the fantastic breakfast (best kipper in years!) We would have no hesitation in making Sunbank House Hotel our base for another visit to the city or indeed the surrounding area.

The hotel is ideally located just outside Perth's city center, offering a convenient yet peaceful setting. Our room was on the ground floor facing the street, but noise was minimal and never an issue. The property is exceptionally well maintained, stylish, and impeccably clean. Breakfast is freshly prepared, with excellent quality and great attention to detail. During our stay, we interacted with one staff member who was extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable.

This wasn’t the place for us. It’s a beautiful period property, nicely decorated and very clean but we don’t really do quaint. I should have known better. It’s pretty expensive for what it is and we didn’t feel it value for money. It’s boutique hotel priced with a B&B offering. Things like the in-room refreshments tray seemed a bit basic. No herbal teas or decaf offered and who serves Yorkshire tea in Scotland? One little pack of biscuits for 2 people? The breakfast too was quite basic and ok if you’re a full Scottish or eggs sort of person. Otherwise, it’s cereals brought to the table. We’ve stayed in many B&Bs in Scotland with much more imaginative offerings and where you don’t have to book a time and fill in a form the night before, with what you’re going to want to eat in the morning. Sometimes you don’t know and it all felt a bit strict. To be fair, I should mention 3 important positives: it’s great to have parking, the bed was huge and very comfortable and our room had great black out curtains. We slept well.

Great pre-arrival service with emails sharing possible local sites and places to eat. Then, such a warm welcome on arrival. Great room and we had wonderful views down into Perth. Perth was within easy walking distance. The lounge with the wood burning fire in the evening was cozy and a great environment to enjoy a wee dram. Great breakfast.
