Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Our experience at the Grand Palladium took a shocking turn during our visit to the spa—an area that should be the most carefully maintained part of any resort. When we approached the spa pool, something was immediately off. A viscous, slightly bubbly residue floated on the surface—impossible to mistake for anything other than what it was. We later learned a wedding party had just finished, and some very intoxicated groomsmen had been in the spa beforehand. Accidents happen; vomit. We informed the spa attendant right away, fully expecting the pool to be cleared, treated, and temporarily closed. Instead, nothing happened. No testing, no filtration pause, no sanitizing protocol. The pool stayed open as if everything were normal. Guests kept getting in, unaware of what they were stepping into, and I found myself warning people personally—something I never imagined doing on vacation. Coming from a tourism region myself, I know any resort can build impressive amenities and hire plenty of staff. What separates the good from the bad is how they handle moments like this. When the crown jewel of the spa—the hydrotherapy pool with the Roman faucets—isn’t even closed after a bodily fluid incident, it speaks volumes. It shows a willingness to overlook basic sanitation for convenience or optics. And once you see that, you can’t unsee it. This wasn’t just gross—it revealed resort’s true standards, and they fell far short of what any guest should accept

This was our first time staying at the Grand Palladium, and we had a wonderful experience. My husband and I stayed at Kantenah, while our adult kids stayed at Colonial. It worked out perfectly- they were close to all the activities and entertainment, and we were just steps from the beach, which I absolutely love. This is definitely a resort we would return to. We enjoyed the food, the shows, and the overall atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to offer even more entertainment geared toward teenagers and young adults. The White Party was a huge hit for my sons (and for us!), and more events like that would be fantastic. I truly recommend this resort for all ages-everyone will find something to enjoy. And special kudos to the entire staff. I have zero complaints. Everyone worked incredibly hard and treated us wonderfully, allowing us to relax and feel completely taken care of throughout our vacation.

Buffet food was average-good. A La Carts were good. Played mini golf, shuffle board. Had couples massage at spa. Went to Bravo & CHIC show. Colonial pool is large, maintained. We managed to get chairs. Hotel has a Hospitality room a guest can use when they first arrive. Rooms are not available until 3:00 pm. The same room can be used on the day you check out (and all hotel amenities) until 6:00 pm.

There are so many pools, restaurants, and bars to choose from that you can spend each day in a new area if you choose to. We stayed for a week and still didn't have enough time to try each dinner restaurant. Overall the food, service, and grounds were excellent. We never once worried about our valuables being left out in our room or by the pool.

Truly wonderful!! What can you ask for more! It’s like a big family in Paradise. This is our first time here with my family and we enjoyed it very much. The resort has everything you need from a relaxing spa, beautiful beach, all kinds of pools, kid’s club, great entertainment and beautiful areas to take pictures. My daughter loved the kid’s club and I felt safe leaving her there which is very important. The buffet was very nice with great variety of choices. Their restaurants are excellent, our favourite was Bahia e Brasa.You really eat well here!! The staffs are all amazing and welcoming.They really take care of you like royalty. Big shout out to Sony & everyone who made our stay so wonderful. We will definitely come back.

We had an amazing stay! The resort is very safe, peaceful, and fun. There are many different dining options as well as several buffets. All of the staff were super friendly and treated us well. Our buildings concierges David and Cielo were incredibly helpful during our stay. They were able to answer all of our questions, as well has assisting us with different bookings. There are multiple pools on site and a beach as well. Our room was also very nice and the cleaning crew did an amazing job upkeeping it. There are also many actives and shows to enjoy as well. Thank you so much for making our stay great!

The Grand Palladium Colonial have 2 hotel at the same area, the second one is Grand Palladium White Sands, this hotel is much much better in all aspects, better buffet, better and quiet pool, absolutely better rooms, the other one, The Palladium Colonial needs a lot improvement, special the rooms, furniture are very old and in bad shape. Rooms at first floor smells like humidity or mold in all building, pool very busy, buffet very busy, furniture needs replaced at pool area. Exterior areas are amazing in both hotels, car service for connecting one hotel with the other are excellent!! Every day they have pool activity like aerobics, bikes inside the pool at White Sands hotel, this is absolutely wonderful, the guys doing excellent work 👏👏👏👏👏 ,all the stuff are very nice and always available for any thing you need. Every day they cook wonderful food like Paella, Hamburgers and more around noon at the pool side. Hotel night shows are exceptional!!! The dancing team at the show ( girls and boys) are incredible!! We don’t have enough words for express how good the are excellent dancing and acting!!Every night is a different show one better than other, absolutely amazing!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏 Beach is not good, very small area looks good from outside but inside is a lot of rocks. Fauna around hotel is amazing, you can see every day a lot beautiful animals like iguana, coatis, monkeys flamingos etc, beautiful and transparent lakes everywhere!! The food at the buffet restaurant are ok!

The property is beautiful and offers many options! It was so nice to be able to go between the resorts and the transportation was easy and fast! The staff were so nice although at times, were a little slow, but that’s the name of the game with a resort of this size. Now this report is massive, get ready to walk a lot! The signs are a little confusing at first. I personally didn’t mind the walk but would have loved to be closer to the ocean. There weren’t rooms close to the ocean or pool. We did have a leak in our room and overall, it could have been updated some compared to the other rooms we saw but the staff kept it clean and stocked up. The ocean has a small section where it’s not rocky, otherwise it’s super rocky in order to swim or get to a spot to stand. There was a lot of seaweed but the staff worked diligently to clean it up. I wouldn’t stay here again, but it is ideal for families as there’s lots of stuff to do with kids.

Great pools and bar service. Beach was rocky. I preferred the pool. The buffet restaurant's food was very average. Cruise food is so much better. The restaurants that required reservations had excellent food, but it was difficult to get a reservation unless you booked early in the morning. The Chic show and dinner was excellent.

We had a great stay. The rooms are alright, though a bit old. Our room felt very humid and the pillows smelled a lot like humidity. Restaurants can get too noisy and messy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay & will for sure come back, just maybe in Kantenah or White Sand.

Beautiful territory, large room and balcony, however dirty floor and dust on the furniture.The room was cleaned badly every day and on weekends no one came to clean and change towels. Drinking water was not supplied to the room in sufficient quantities. In international buffets the food mostly Mexican , meat and fish often burnt and row inside. No relax atmosphere, very noisy and crowded, not enough waiters, needs to wait a long time or call for service. On the tables are plastic napkins ( mats ) not washed after each guest , only shook off the crumbs, which is absolutely unacceptable for hygiene.

La areas verdes son las que tiene rescatable el hotel , lo que no me gusto son las instalaciones le hace falta mantenimiento , cene en el restaurant el dorado y la mesa estaba sucia, el vino de mesa que sirvieron estaba caliente no estaba frio, , comida ya no habia , tampoco los postres de la carta, en la playa habia basura, las habitaciones huelen a humedad, el agua de la alberca para niños estaba helada mis hijos se enfermaron por esta situación, en el piso de la alberca para niños estaba llena de manchas de moho, muy decepcionante

Beautiful property but the food was not great at the restaurants we were pushed to make reservations with. The buffet was the same food as the restaurant food just on a different scale. Also we had a hard time getting a hold of guest services for towels, the room was cleaned towels were taken but never replenished. Took 2 days for that to resolve.

We spent 10 days at the Grand Palladium and really enjoyed our stay and experience. Our entire family loved it, and we would come back for sure! I rated it a 4 but it would be a 4.5 truly because of the following: 1. We arrived to our hotel room in the Colonial resort and boy was it outdated. Our room was damp, didn't feel clean (to us) and we noticed in the washroom that the shower wand had to be held because if not, it would splash water everywhere! We tried to find a way to fix it but we noted that it did not fit the holder where it was supposed to sit. The fix: By our first night, we knew we needed to change rooms and so, paid extra to get transferred to a room that was newer. This was great as the room and washroom was beautiful. This did irk us a bit as we felt that having to pay extra after the money we spent originally and for staying 10 days was unnecessary but it is what it is. 2. The Shuttles were great... When we could get one. We would call for one from our villa and we'd be told that none were available, or we would wait for one at one of the lobby's and we would have to wait long periods of time. Empty shuttles would drive past us and when we would ask for a ride (because it was on their way), they would politely decline. Sometimes the drivers would stop and ask us if we needed a ride and we truly loved that! The fix: We ended up walking from our new room in Kantenah to Colonial every day. Which was fine as we needed to walk off the buffet lol!

Staff was very friendly! Our only complaint about our stay was the air conditioning system. Ours did not work in our room and we even had an upgraded room and it was mid July so extremely hot in Mexico. We would complain to our butler several times but they didn’t jump to the needs of the air conditioner.

I liked the pools and access to the beach. Food was good. The room just needed more maintenance done. And I booked a poolside view for extra money and was given the garden view which was less money and no refund offered.

We had to change our 4 rooms 3 times within our 5 night stay. Each room has multiple issues with no phone service, old and rusty, bugs, smelling like mildew, tub way too high that had us have accidents getting out. Door locks and safe not working, bathroom outlets not working, very yellow dim lights throughout, refrigerator leaking! Anything else, yes. Too many crazy animals running all over the place that would take the food right out of your plates. Never going back there again! Oh and big giants water bugs walking around the rooms and Many mosquitoes in the rooms too! Food was not good either.

Beautiful property. Excellent dining. Staff was kind and responsive. First room were in smelled dirty with a sewage smell and was very noisy with highway sound. We were moved to a new room that was very clean and less noisy.

Very good service, but the they have a social club membership, they make me waist to much of my vacation time.

I want to share our experience with you. This was a very bad experience at a beautiful resort. You need to address you customer service and concierge service 1. We checked in at white sands on Monday Nov 3rd. Room 5604. Our bags sat at the concierge for ever we finally went and got the no one was there. 2. The app did not work to make reservations, went to the front desk and they tried and it still said “guest not found”. We were told to go to the concierge to make reservations. We came with a group and we could not enjoy dinners with our friends. We had to eat buffet all week. We did get one reservation for the last night but not with any of our friends. 3. My husband fell at the white sands pool on your slippery steps. And cut his arm on the tile and has a huge bruise from his shoulder to forearm. Your life guards were great but your other staff were all worried about me filling out the form . We were contacted by concierge and I let them know we could not go to our one and only dinner reservation and would have to order room service, they didn’t even offer to comp the fee for that so again I went to the buffet alone and brought food back to my husband. 4. I asked to speak to a manager and I was told no and given this email address to send a message to. 5.the front desk and concierge were ne help. 6. The trolly drivers for TRS refused to pick us up, the other drivers said they are not supposed to do that. 7. There were area of wet paint at the secret pool that were not

The resort was gorgeous! Food was great, rooms and service wonderful- so many options. David and Ceilo were so kind and helpful and Alejandro at the lobby was great. We wpuld absolutely be back - highly recommend.

Front desk for check in did not treat me the same way prior and the check in process did not make me feel welcome. Very rude. Everyone else besides the colonial front desk was amazing.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Palladium. We booked Colonial but was bumped into Kantenah and VIP guests. Being VIP guests, we got access to exclusive restaurants and lounges and concierge service. David and Cielo, our concierges, are awesome. They are always a text message away.

Alessandra was such a great help. She was so attentive and made our trip much easier. She was the highlight of our trip . Everyone from the cleaners, maintenance guys, chefs, hosts , were all so kind and on top of things. The property itself is beautiful and has many cool wild life that just hung around. The TRS experience is definitely the best as far as what we were looking for. Top notch property, top notch staff. I am always looking for something to critique but in this case , I couldn’t find one thing. 11/10

It all started with room not being ready to check in till almost 4 pm instead of 3:00pm. Had to move from the first room on the second day due mold being all over the place. Also, Safebox battery died and after calling help desk I was told to wait 10 minutes for someone to come and fix the issue. After 20 minutes of waiting and no one showing up, I called again and was told the same to wait for another 10 minutes. Waited for 30 minutes, still no one showed up. Went to the front desk and explained the situation, was told that their supervisor was going to come right away. Unfortunately, it was a lie again! No one showed up and I simply wasted over 3 hours of my vacation time waiting with no one ever coming. It was my 2nd time at this resort and unlike first stay, this time, I left feeling very disappointed due to extremely unfriendly unreliable customer service.

Staff engagement really stands out at this resort. Was my first time visiting and online shows a pool table in their Sports Bar, however, there was not one in there when I checked in. I had trouble getting JD/regular Pepsi from a lot of the bars as it was not stocked, which I thought was shocking. I received an email requesting feedback on the first morning and I obliged, listing the issues with the lack of available JD and the pool table issue. Staff responded by sending me a bottle of JD, every bar was then stocked with JD and regular Pepsi and the Sports Bar suddenly had a pool table, fuzzball table and arcade games! Staff even went out of their way to secure us a booking for the Japanese restaurant when an accident meant we had to leave dinner early. Top marks for customer service, keep it up!

Gratamente sorprendido en mi primera experiencia en un gran resort. La verdad que para tratarse de un resort de 4 grandes hoteles, la sensación era de paz y tranquilidad en su mayoría. El servicio de los trabajadores muy alto, y las instalaciones notablemente conservadas. La playa muy buena , así como la zona de piscinas. La calidad de las comidas buena y las bebidas también.

Had a great time. The beach is rocky so bring swim shoes or go towards the left for swimmable beach. Book reservations for the restaurants because there's not much options at the buffet. Also got a free upgrade and the room was amazing.

Beautiful, well maintained property, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun, has everything you need onsite. Great restaurants and lots of activities. Will definitely go back for a 4th trip

We had a really good time at this resort. The pool areas were really nice for the kids, staff was friendly and attentive. One complaint would be the lighting in rooms could use an update, our room was very dark. The resort is beginning to show its age but overall we had a good time and really enjoyed our stay.

Huge resort with a beautiful beach and great service from all the people working there. Only downside is the quality of the food. Both the buffets and the A la carte restaurants.

Breakfast and lunch are our favorite meals at Grand Palladium, but the dinner dining options can be hit or miss. We tried a couple of the ala cartes, but the La Hacienda buffet had better options - especially the salad and side dish offerings. The desserts were always better in the buffet. Being from Arizona & New Mexico, we did appreciate the extensive Mexican cuisine options in the buffets. This was our 6th (or 7th - we lose count) visit to GP, and our 24th trip to the Riviera Maya. Our dining opinions are are almost identical across all the resorts.

Poor weather during our stay limited the beach and activity options so the room and dining options were really in focus. The first day (Monday) we were figuring out the lay of the land and went to La Hacienda for lunch as we waited for our room to be ready. Food quality there was very poor with items overcooked, tasteless, or cold. It was a very bad first impression. We didn't go back there again. For dinner all of the ala carte restaurants were full so we went to La Dalia buffet which was a much better service and food quality experience. We went to La Dalia for breakfast and lunch the rest of the trip with good results. Tuesday night we went to Bravo (upcharge) for dinner which was great food and entertainment. Wednesday night we went to Portofino (Italian) and it was terrible. 9 people with different dishes and they were all poor quality. I've had better meals out of a can. Thursday night was El Dorado (american steakhouse) and it was fantastic. The filet mignon was perfect and service was stellar. Best food of the trip. Friday night we ate at Bahia (Brazilian steakhouse) and it was very good. Service was stellar from Juan who kept us entertained with banter and tequila. We stayed in the Colonial section in the junior garden suite. The decor and furniture was a little dilipated. I recommend staying in the White Sands or Kantenah rooms instead. The Colonial lobby was great though and we spent a lot of our nights hanging out there with drinks and music.

Property is great! I would say the service is what needs improvement! they never refilled the mini fridges as they said they would even after I complained to front desk. Food quality was not what I expected! Out of the few restaurants I tried El Dorado was the best! It is family friendly!

Good Customer service , friendly staff, lots of good dining options, good spread and options on buffer, beautiful beach areas, and spa and outdoor nydrotherapy is why I keep coming back to palladium resort!

Another fantastic stay at our beloved Palladium. We enjoyed the familiar resort with its immense, pool. The buffets were wonderfully plentiful, diverse, with fresh options for every taste. There were plenty of loungers around the pool and beach area. Unfortunately the beach has suffered severe erosion and there is currently effort to replenish the sand, so we didn’t spend much time on the beach. The resort lobby is beautiful. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The a la carte restaurant we went to was the Japanese, with the show cooking experience, which was excellent. The resort will be undergoing renovations next year, some areas such as the rooms and some restaurants definitely show the need for renovations. Everything is very clean, the common areas, as well as the rooms are immaculate. Looking forward to our next visit once renovations are complete.

Won’t be going back to this property again. Never experienced line-ups for restaurants at an all-inclusive. We had to wait pretty much 30/40 mins to get inside the main restaurant for every meal. Making a reservation for their specialty restaurants is like a mission. And good luck getting water in your room. It takes a minimum of an hour to get anything in the room.
