The hardest part was finding the hotel, the sign on the door is not v clear when you are walking past in bright sun. Lovely helpful staff, room was great & a relatively easy walk around the city. I dont mind hills! Id stay again & would recommend for a cheap carparking option choose the Civic carpark at aotea square.

Parking is off site and requires negotiating steep busy streets (and a downpour of rain walking back). Google searches and uber searches all select the ‘other’ grand chancellor in Hobson street - we were delivered there with our luggage first! Very inconvenient. When we spoke to reception staff about this we were told ‘ yes many of our customers get confused’. A tray of room service was left outside our room all night (we ate at 7.30pm). And our room was not serviced when we returned after being out from 8am til 2.30pm.

Only downside was the parking arrangements, that it’s a wee distance away from actual hotel, oh and that I was charged for the parking but my booking said it was free, no refund offered, otherwise excellent in every other way

A beautiful new hotel, well laid out. The rooms were some of the best I have stayed in for a long time. They were just missing a desk and chair so I could do some work. The hotel has only access to 9 carparks up the road round the corner at a pay parking it is a bit of a pain if you miss out on one or it is raining.

Has an in room mini fridge too. Friendly and helpful staff. Decent and very roomy shower, plenty of towels. Particularly liked option for eco clean. 15 -20 min walk uphill from main train station from airport. Can also log into netflix, sky etc.

It’s a clean and eco-friendly hotel. However, we had a problem to reimburse the eco-card that they refused to honor the card saying we didn’t visit the restaurant (we did spend at the coffee shop). Also the floor had not been vacuumed for the time we stayed there.

They had a room ready for us a little early and it was huge! (Compared to everything we'd stayed in in Australia and New Zealand so far). The bed was a nice king size with a great pillow top and very comfortable, we had a view of the Sky Tower and the water, the bathroom was large, and there was plenty of drawer space for us to truly unpack and settle in. There's a great little cafe downstairs for a quick breakfast and the front desk staff was very helpful in giving us directions for how to get around town.

First the positives: the food is excellent and the rooms are very nice and clean !! The negative: the AC did NOT work in my room. It took over 5 hours to reach the temperature I set (which was 21 degrees) for me to sleep in. Can you imagine how hot it was before I set it to 21? (I have photos!) I notified the hotel staff and they scheduled someone to come and check it out. Nobody came and there was no indication by the front desk that somebody did or did not come. My sleep was disturbed for several nights because it felt like I was sleeping in a sauna. The hotel was not busy and with these issues, I expected a later check out. The best they gave was noon for my 8:15 pm flight. I’d love to say this was an accommodating hotel, but sadly it wasn’t and our company had booked several rooms there

Nyt og rent hotel. Ligger ok centralt, 5 min. gang ned til Queen St. og 10 min ned til vandet. Jeg tror togbanen går lige nedenunder, da man kunne høre nogle vibrationer med passende tidsinterval. Dog var det ikke noget som generede. Gode og komfortable senge. God morgenmad. Det var en lille buffet, men havde hvad den skulle. Chiagrød med mango puré, falafel, halloumi og Tzatziki var også en del af den lille buffet.

I liked it was walking distance from the waterfront, restaurants and shopping. The staff was very friendly and accommodated my request for an early arrival coming off in early international flight at a prorated rate. I walk a lot so the walk up the hill from the ferry terminal wasn’t bad, but if you have trouble walking, you might want to think about taking a bus or Uber up the hill. The room was clean, the carpet was a little outdated and but TV did not work.

Be careful at this hotel. They charged me on arrival a security deposit - to cover any incidentals! NZ$200. My card was debited immediately. I had prepaid my accommodation. When I checked out, I had not incurred any additional costs. They informed me that I would therefore receive a full refund - but not for 5 days.

Hotel decor and atmosphere were welcoming, beautiful, and tidy upon presentation. Wanted to particularly point out how much we appreciated the thought and effort the manager put into accommodating us for early check-in. It was greatly appreciated given our 19 hrs of travel - that gesture of kindness and additional effort allowed us to settle in comfortably and ultimately set us up for better enjoyment of the earliest days of our trip. Staff also helped us store our luggage prior to our departure. Our room was comfortable, clean, and loved the hotel amenities including the gym and little details like a pillow menu, bottled sparkling water, and coffee. Will certainly recommend and be back to this hotel upon return to Auckland.

Place itself was very clean and tidy. Nice comfortable bed, room layout was good no fault with the room. Only problem is the $200 hold they put on the CC and then the 3 days you have to wait for it to be refunded. Ive stayed with other hotels who charge a 0.00 balance but as long as they have your CC details and if they need to charge they have these details to do so, you should do the same.

Tiny rooms!! Our vehicle got broken into in the ‘hotel carpark’ which is located up and across the road. For some reason only 1 person cooks any eggs, upon ordering, for the buffet, meaning there is always a big line. Clearly it doesn’t work.

Great hotel would definitely stay again. Checkin staff looked after us so well. Hotel was immaculately clean in all areas and smelt lovely. Loved the idea of the green scheme where you got a $10 credit on your account for re using towels etc. The fridge in our room didn’t work at all but we didn’t mention it till we checked out as we didn’t use it anyway. Breakfast was lovely. Some good options. Coffee from the machine was revolting though so we took our own coffee to breakfast the next day.

The dining area had a lovely ambience, and the service was excellent, thank you for that. My only disappointment was with breakfast. I was really excited to see Shakshuka on the menu and couldn't wait to try it the next morning. Unfortunately, the eggs were overcooked, and the spiced tomatoe sauce lacked flavour, which left me a little disappointed and I ended up not finishing it.

Such a clean, fresh nice hotel! Comfy bed. Big bathroom. Good curtains for it to be dark in the morning which we loved! The only two down sides were we were in a room right by the elevators and you could hear them running all night and the breakfast in the morning was so understaffed.. not as much food as there should be but everything else was fab!
