Everything was great in the Hotel! Only thing I didnt like was parking. They charge $20 a night and parking is very difficult because spaces are too small even for a compact car.

Clean, modern hotel close to Duke University. The bar serves a small but nice variety of food until 10 pm, which was convenient. Only complaint is the lack of insulation in the floors. It sounded like an elephant was getting ready on the floor above me from about 7:00-8:00 am. It was so loud it woke me up and I couldn’t go back to sleep, so I lost an hour of sleep. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay.

We loved everything about this hotel. The service was fantastic - our first night we were able to grab a snack and a drink at the bar and the service was so friendly. The entire hotel, from the lobby, to the elevators, to the room, was exceptionally clean. The amenities were wonderful! Love the hydration station on each floor where carafes were provided to fill with ice and/or water to have in our room, and we could fill up our water bottles for the day. Love the coffee, tea and hot cocoa available in the lobby at tall times. And we very much appreciated the bucket of umbrellas available for our use on a rainy day when we wanted to walk the Duke campus.

We chose this location soley because of the Pelotons offered in the fitness center. Unfortunately, all were out of service during our stay. Also, our curtains in our room were not hanging properly when we arrived. I notified the front desk on Sunday, left my phone number, and was told a manager would contact me. We checked out this morning and I have yet to hear from anyone. This was our worst Mariott Bonvoy experience to date. As of this review, on February 12 at 6 pm EST, I still have not heard from anyone from the hotel.

The hotel was lovely in most ways — except, in my case, the most important one. I searched on Expedia for hotels that offer EV charging, and this one was listed. When I arrived, I found out there was none. Luckily, there was EV charging within walking distance, but I had to pay $30 to park in the lot where it was located (and had to pay for the charging as well). Insult to injury, I got a parking ticket as well, even though I was paid up. When you're driving an EV long distances for travel, charging is essential. This error in the listing — whether it was caused by Expedia, or the hotel — nearly ruined my trip. Sorry, it's an unforgivable sin (made worse by the inconvenience and cost it caused).

Hotel room was clean and modern and perfect for a 3 night stay for a conference and weekend getaway. Staff were friendly. We walked to the Duke football game (20-25 min) on Saturday night. Also had breakfast at Early Bird Donuts and lunch at NaanStop, which were delicious and right across the parking lot. No swimming pool. But fitness room was well equipped and had Peleton bikes and lots of weights and machines that I loved. Would stay here again when back in Durham.

Very nice property and very close to downtown and Duke University. The inside bar was nice and bartender very friendly. The only thing that was a disappointment was that we were charged $15. to park at the hotel. Though it wasn't a huge amount, we've never paid for parking before at a place we were paying to stay at.

The only con is that is not sufficient parking and there is a nominal parking fee of $12 applied to our bill without even ensuring that we parked on property. We were not able to find a parking space in the garage during our second night and had to park in the adjoining business parking spaces

Beautiful, welcoming lobby. Very friendly front desk staff. Love the lighting in the rooms. Quick elevators! Easy and very well-lit parking deck. I felt safe. Walls were thin - I could hear the whole phone conversation of my neighbor at 12:30am. Nothing a little white noise didn’t fix :) Please be sure rooms are deep cleaned. I saw a few things that made me question whether mine was.

Superb location. Staff is friendly. Room was not the cleanest, but is fine. The parking fee was not mentioned at checking. We ended up paying 12 dollars per day for parking, which we could have save just by parking across the building. We do not like to encounter hidden fees. The issue with the parking erase any trusworthiness in the business.

Lovely staff. Clean and modern. Beds were not so comfy, although I feel as if our bed was missing a mattress pad. Sadly, the stench of marijuana was terrible in the hallways on our floor and when we opened our door in came in the room. That is not a reason to not stay there, as it is in a good location to the Duke medical campus and the surrounding Durham community.

Stayed one night and the hotel was clean and the staff was very nice. The water pressure was nonexistent and the beds were pretty hard, but the room was clean and spacious. We prefer a colder room and the thermostat was locked at 65, though the temp never actually reached 65.

Excellent stay! Loved the cleanliness and layout of the room. Wonderful front desk staff. The only complaint is that on our last night, we heard the people in the room directly above us stomping around so loudly. Maybe worth a little more soundproofing in the ceiling/floor areas? Otherwise A+.

This was my first time at an AC Marriott hotel and I was very impressed by it .I like the clean ,modern room decor ( Scandinavian style I would call it ) I had a room with a king size bed , lots of space to place luggage , a nice sitting area with a leather couch , very nice bathroom! I would definitely look this up for other cities I plan to visit.

I was offered the chance to waive housekeeping during my stay when I checked in online - which I did. But housekeeping cleaned my room every single day anyway. Comfortable, clean, convenient to Duke campus and Hospital. Sleep disrupted by footfalls of person in room above me. Wished for better insulation between floors!

The people that work here are unfriendly and unhelpful.. The man at the front desk did not know how to print a receipt and was not friendly. The cleaning staff wouldn't clean the room. After I finally did get a receipt, I was charged a different amount. I wouldn't stay here again because of the poor customer service and general incompetence.

Nice hotel, ridiculous policies. Wouldn’t refund a duplicate booking that was made in error due to an internet issue. No manager on site to speak with either day I was there. Would never make a reservation here again.

The staff failed to disclose certain charges, like a parking fee. At the end of my stay I had two unapproved charges on top of a parking charge that I didn’t know was coming. I called to talk to someone about all the unapproved charges on my card after my stay and the manager was never around to assist. The person I spoke with said they did Not know why I was charged and would leave a note for the manager to call me the following day, which he never did. As of this writing, I will be reaching out for the third time to try to get this resolved.

After a (very) delayed flight, we arrived at the hotel at 2:30am. The woman at the front desk said she had started an audit she could not stop and made me and my very tired son sit in the lobby for a half hour while her computer beeped. Never seen anything like it. 0 stars.

I needed a hotel close to the Duke Univ. hospital and this was a great hotel. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, the rooms were comfortable, and the facilities were great. They don't have a pool. They're are great restaurants nearby. Great hotel

The good: the location if you are visiting Duke, the cleannesses, the room layout, bed, pillows and bedding The bad: costumer service, receptionist, quality I had $10 food credit, that according to the receptionist could use for restaurant or food shop. The 2 cold coffees I took ended up being $10.75, so I asked her to charge my credit card for the $0.75, but my card was charged the entire $10.75. $10 is not breaking anyone’s bank, but the deception bothered me.

New property, clean, but next time I would rather stay downtown to be close to restaurants and shopping. If you want to be close to Duke's West Campus & Cathedral, this hotel will work. The Cathedral is visible from the hotel, and is a 10-15 minute walk. The restaurants near the hotel are low-end chains mostly: subway, chipotle, although we found a local hot wing place which was good. We arrived after 9pm and the hot wing place was the only thing open at 10pm.

Great location. We were there for a Duke football game and the hotel was perfect for walking to the game. Lots of great eating places near the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean and up to date on everything. I would highly recommend.

I loved your hotel, it's location, it's ambiance there were a few minor adjustments I would like to see. One is a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. The other is I ordered a Caesar salad to go from the bar and it was served in a cardboard box with the dressing leaking through the bottom. A plastic container would have served much better. Other than that perfect stay with comfortable beds and great bathrooms!!!

Upon walking in the smell was so beautiful the staff was friendly and clear. My room was what my husband and I needed for the night. The shower was bomb. I was very disappointed however in the quality of the breakfast.
