Service was great. Staff was very nice. 1 elevator was not working so very busy. The pool and hot tub area was very old and run down. Sounds like there is plans for renovation but definitely looked dirty.

Nice hotel but under renovation so the gym was not available. Staff was very nice although they were overwhelmed at breakfast. I would definitely return if I need to be in the area.

The hotel smelled amazing!! The front desk staff were very welcoming and polite. The whole hotel was clean. The pool area had ants, the hot tub was hot but the jets weren’t working but the technician got them working right as the pool closed. I’ll definitely be back I want to swim through the indoor outdoor pool.

The hot tub and pool is ran down. The pool area need to be repainted and cleaned up. My room curtains were filthy and my shower had mold stains covered by paint. I had to empty my own garbage and beg for clean towels.

Nice hotel. Mostly friendly staff. Was told upon checking in the pool had been contaminated and was being cleaned but was assured it would be clean within a couple days. Knowing we had significant plans that would consume the entire day the next day, I believed that would be fine.. afterall, they said the hot tub was functional, and I am a full-time single mom and nurse and I desperately needed a soak. I was looking forward to hitting the hot tub with my kiddo and my best friend(who would be joining us the next day in her own suite). The next day was just as long as I had initially thought it would be, with lots of activities in Chcago and dinner plans with the bestie! When we all returned to the hotel late that evening, we were informed the amenity we had planned our hotel stay for was going to be closed for the rest of our time there. The kind person at the desk offered us some free 3 day passes to a gym type facility in the area. Upon inspection, only children 13+ were allowed to use the facilities. My son is 9. So, part of what was going to be a fun vacation we all deserved, turned into resentment and a tearful bedtime. He was looking forward to wearing his new swim trunks. So much dissapointment. Had I been told truthfully the 1st night it would not be cleaned, we could have made other arrangements.

The pool was closed off on the outside with cardboard and my children were looking forward to the swim-through feature. It is false advertising on their advertising. The hotel was under construction and they had a card table for check in. Their key card machine wasn't working and they had overbooked several people. The internet didnt work in our room so i had to use my data for two days on my hotspot. The fold out bed had a rod pushing in my back. There were children doing cannonballs in the hot tub unsupervised without and adult and they were all under 8. Not impressed.

As of late July 2024, this place is still undergoing renovations. The outdoor pool was not open. I'm not sure if there's an indoor pool. The room was mostly clean. I found a hairpin in the middle of the floor and the door frames to the bathroom were obviously smudged and dirty. Other than that it was fine.

One of the 2 elevators was broken the entire July 4th weekend and the stairs were not an option as they were for emergency use only. Thus, any trip up or down t extra long, especially over the 4th of the July weekend when the hotel was extremely busy.

Wonderful experience with the front desk staff members but the cleanliness could have been better. Old linens from previous guest still on the bed when we arrived, dust all over and hair in the shower. Went for coffee in the mornin and it was out, went to the hot tub for a soak and it was being looked at by maintenance. Just in the right place at the wrong time the whole time.

Overall the stay was ok, but a few initial things impacted the entirety of the stay. The bathroom was dirty at check-in, with urine spots on the floor by the toilet, on the toilet front/base, under the seat/backslash. Housekeeping was already gone for the day. The house-man was supposed to come later to clean, but our kids needed to go to the bathroom, so we cleaned it up ourselves with Clorox wipes we had (and luckily my wife brings gloves to clean, just in case). They did come later to drop off more towels that we requested (only 3 were there), and were supposed to clean, but we couldn't tell that they did (since we already did the majority of the work). The following day, we did not get housekeeping and we had to request a particular time the following day. We were not informed that housekeeping was only every other day either, so overall we only received housekeeping 1 out of 4 days. As far as room condition, it was ok. The sofa was creaky and the cushions were thin. The room itself was missing it's room number placard, which made us unsure initially if it was our room - we had to test our keys to verify we were at the right room. The outdoor pool apparently has been out of order for a long time, as it was covered and the cover was full of algae. The front desk staff was a mixed bag, some definitely just pushing off requests by saying 'management will be in tomorrow morning' but some were helpful.

When we got into our room it looked great. However 5 minutes after letting our one year old crawl around while getting unpacked for the 3 days we were going to be there her knees and top of her feet were black… it was disgusting. We immediately went down and talked to the front desk lady and she didn’t really seem to care at all. Didn’t apologize or seem concerned. I thought this was a big problem. Our child should be able to crawl on the floor without getting dirty legs and feet. Very unsanitary and dirty. Found some hairs on the bed and bedding. Again the front desk didn’t seem to care much. Overall it was good but the hospitality and cleanliness was not good at all.

The bed cover had stains on it (they did get us a new one quickly when we asked) and later we noticed some gross stains on the curtains and lampshades - ketchup, jelly or something? When I pulled out the chair to use the desk I saw lots of food under the desk, so obviously had not been vacuumed. Overall the decor was gloomy and the room was dingy. I was surprised because the hotel got very good reviews on cleanliness, which is why we picked it. I also assumed that a suite would have a table to sit at to eat but it just had a little one person desk. The staff was very nice though and the gym was nice too.

I stayed at the Hampton in Downers Grove over Labor Day weekend, and overall, it was a very good experience. The location is excellent—close to shopping, restaurants, and everything you might need. The hotel offers great amenities, including a gym and laundry facilities, which made my stay much more convenient. The room itself was clean and comfortable. However, the only negative I experienced was the condition of the toilet upon arrival—the upper inside of the bowl was not clean. I contacted housekeeping, and to their credit, they responded promptly and had it cleaned within about 45 minutes. Despite that one hiccup, I would still recommend this hotel for its convenience, amenities, and overall cleanliness.

Staff is always fantastic there. Breakfast has lots of options which is great. The only problem was that there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling and I had to change rooms after two nights. I watched the maintenance person pull the ceiling tile down and there was water and mold behind it. Other than that, the experience was fine.

My room was stained pretty bad; the floor, curtain, and scratched furniturel However, I'm still happy they accept dogs. But my dog didn't do this and well behaved, go figure. Otherwise, the stay was good.

Staff were very flexible when I had trouble with delayed flights affecting my check-in time. Breakfast was available early and the fully stocked coffee cart 24/7 saved me. Only problem I had was when I turned the heat in my room to 72°, it never turned off and the room ended up being 86° for the rest of my stay, even when the thermostat showed the heat and fan being off.

I didn't enjoy my stay because I booked a room with a King Size Bed and got a full-size bed instead. What made the situation even worse and very frustrating was being told by the staff members I dealt with that I don't know what a king size bed is. I felt being treated like an idiot.

I would rate our stay as average only due to an unexpected event where a staff member came into our room and surprised our son who was in the bathroom while my wife and I were out getting some medicine for our son who just had surgery. This was seriously a GREAT hotel. Better service than some luxury hotels. The gal who checked me in was great (night of 11/20), they give FREE waters your entire visit that you can grab anytime, free drinks at the welcome reception, big room that are super clean, and a huge breakfast spread. Every employee I encountered in the bar and kitchen area was great. I can't say enough good things about this hotel.

We arrived later than anticipated. We were told to arrive before 2:00 am or our reservation would be lost. We made it by 1:00 am but were told the system was “doing its thing” so we couldn’t check in for another 15 minutes. It ended up being about 20 minutes. Customer service was lacking when we called to give the heads up that we’d be late, but in person it was much better. The hotel was booked full. When we got to our room, there was a very strong smell of animal urine in both the front room and the bedroom, and there were obvious large stains on the carpeted floor. We couldn’t be moved due to the hotel being at full capacity. The hotel is large and old. It looks like some things have been renovated in an attempt to make it look more modern, but it’s still a pretty rough facility. It served its purpose for us, but I would not return, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone.

I liked the fact that they lock their doors at 11pm until 6am which make you feel safe. Also I was able to take the bus to Chicago and ther3 are a lot of restaurants option near the hotel. Breakfast was also good with different option to choose from.

I stayed at the Hampton in Downers Grove over Labor Day weekend, and overall, it was a very good experience. The location is excellent—close to shopping, restaurants, and everything you might need. The hotel offers great amenities, including a gym and laundry facilities, which made my stay much more convenient. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our quick stay. The staff was amazing and friendly, and the breakfast was fabulous. Little omelets and sausage, actually decent coffee, standard waffles and pastries. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool as there was an altercation and they closed it for the rest of the evening which was disappointing. We ate at the bar located inside the hotel which has a limited menu. The hamburgers we ordered were good but the bartender wasn’t very friendly or attentive. Food took over an hour. Room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely return!

It was a pleasure staying at this property. The staff was amazingly polite, friendly, service oriented and encouraging. The free breakfast is the best I've ever experienced. I used to not like going to this property due to the lack of quality service, but it has totally transformed in a positive way since it's become a Hampton Inn.
