The place was very clean and well maintained. Beach chairs and umbrellas available at no additional cost. Staff was extremely friendly. Lost of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Beach access was right behind the facility. One downfall is that we could not have a later check out time than 11am. Our flights leader later which left us at the airport for 3.5 hours.

The hotel is in a wonderful location, lots of places to walk to, directly on the beach. The staff is fantastic. Definitely a drag to have to pay for parking especially when it’s not season. The fifth floor pool and bar are wonderful. They do not serve very much food nor do they serve regular alcohol. Just an FYI My only complaint is that the keypad on the hotel room doors is very difficult to use.

We all loved it a lot. There was 10 of us. So new so clean….The only thing I just wish the outdoor pool was bigger … the staff was great Karen, at the front desk was so helpful so nice and got right on top of things. The bartender was fun too at the pool area.

The property itself was immaculate and up to date. Restaurants and shops were in a walking distance. We were disappointed with our “view” off our balcony, where we usually spend a lot of time. There are some buildings that are literally within 20 feet from the building/balcony that block the view and any breeze. Need to be at least on the 6th floor, if you are in the rooms facing Mandalay Avenue and want to use your balcony. We were on the 4th floor. They also need to check their beach umbrellas and chairs. We carried chairs and umbrella out to the beach and one of the chairs was broken, as well as the umbrella. This is a nice, clean, safe place to stay with a lovely staff. Would stay there again, in a heartbeat, but would get an ocean front room/with balcony and bring my own beach chairs/umbrella.

There are some great things about The Avalon Club and some not so great things. I do not usually post reviews unless some thing is exceptional or terrible. In this case it has some good and bad. The Good Clean Nice rooms, especially for families and groups. Great Location The Bad The walls are paper thin. You can hear the next room quite easily and our neighbors at 2 am were having very engaging bedroom activities and it felt as though they were in the room with us. Obviously uncomfortable, especially with a family. We were on the third floor where the gym is located and you could clearly hear the thumping of someone running on the treadmill. When we asked to move rooms they were unsympathetic and seemed to be reading from a script and didn't even say "we will see what we can do". It was a flat no! The gym is only open from 9am-9pm for that reason. SO if you want to get an early morning workout, forget it. We asked for a later check out if possible and and again a flat no! No an hour later. Resort fee and a parking with tax add an additional $100 a day to your coat and feel like a cash grab. Hope this is helpful.

The hotel was clean and maintained and the staff was super helpful. Any question we had was promptly answered and they even communicated over text messages (which is easier for me). The pool is a bit small but the beach is so close that it's not a big deal. And they provide free beach chairs and an umbrella so it's actually better than the pool in almost every way. Highly recommended and we'll probably come back next year!

First time at Avalon Club & we love it. Karen, the asst manager, took care of checking us in early & was so pleasant & professional. Our room was perfect. We stayed in the 1-bedroom & it was amazing. Great views, a full kitchen, washer & dryer, 1.5 baths, and spotless. The best part is the parking (it’s $35 but so worth it). We walked directly out to the beach from the hotel. The pool is on the 5th floor & small so we were down on the beach the entire time. Hope to stay here again when visiting the area.

Place was very clean loved how large it was and was in a great location, could walk to everything The only negative thing was the pool seemed to be pictured different on the website and was very small and the rooftop bar really cannot be called a bar. They were out of most of the beers didn’t sell liquor and really was not a bar at all.

Overall clean and current furnishings, beautiful location. Great to have an 3 bedroom in an hotel! Only disappointment was that the cleaning service was only 5+ day stays. That wasn’t communicated at check in and wasn’t stated on the in room services form that was displayed.

The apartments are all owned by individuals and rented out through a management co or Airbnb etc. You pay $28 parking and $35 cover per day which I felt was expensive. The location is excellent and walking distance to nice restaurants. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. You have to give 24 hours notice if you could like the apartment cleaned but they will change towels if you leave them outside of the door. All communal areas are spotless and the cleaners work tirelessly to keep it this way. Holly behind the bar on arrival was very welcoming and knowledgeable of the area. My negatives are that there was only 2 parasols covering the bar (apparently new parasols had been on order for 3 weeks). When I requested a shade option I was met with some hostility which made the rest of our stay slightly uncomfortable. Thankfully a maintenance man adjusted a beach umbrella to suit the parasol stands. This is where I noticed the difference between hotel hospitality and rented apartments. In my opinion it is imperative to provide guest with shade to protect them from the sun. The beach towels (provided in the cover charge) felt cheap and thin. There is no where to hang towels in the shower area. You have to walk across the tiled floor to the toilet (which had the door removed) to retrieve/hang towels. We stayed in gulf view apt 307 but our view was mainly of a 2 story apartment block and electric pylons. We had the worst view of all gulf side apartments

The property was beautiful, new, and clean. The young girl Cassie at check in was so nice and helpful. The bartender at the pool bar was named Julie and she was the nicest to our whole family. We will be back, the beach was very private and easy to enjoy.

Our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The reviews that we researched were accurate and our experience was wonderful. First, the property and our one bedroom suite was immaculate, second, the staff was extremely service oriented and supported us with any need. When the in unit washer had a problem, as a solution they offered to launder our clothes and dry them and they did! That was above and beyond. They say true customer service is how you handle it when things go wrong. They handled this perfectly! We WILL be back! The proximity to the beach was perfect and the long stretches for walking and shelling fantastic. Thank you whomever is responsible for the superior cleaning staff and “service first” employees. In an age where those things are often lacking, this experience will stay with me. Thank you!

This place was great besides our view… it was of a brick wall, I don’t recommend 305. I thought it was going to be a street view not a brick wall, besides that everything else was great. No air flowing on that balcony.

Such an amazing property. Great location, amazing amenities. The room was incredibly spacious and well appointed. Loved the fact that the washer and dryer was equipped with soap and dryer sheets. Such a nice touch. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Really, one of the best stays we've had in a long time.

You can walk to different restaurants. The only bad thing is that the bed in the master bedroom was not in good condition and the metal base was broken. I had to move to another room within the same unit.

Certainly a nice large, extremely clean room. We love the rooftop bar.We had a balcony, but it wasn’t connected to our room. We had to go all the way down the hall to get to the balcony and it wasn’t private other people could access it. Overall, it was nice, but it was not worth the cost.

Beautiful property, outstanding service and staff. Our three bedroom ocean front was so spacious and beautiful! The only minor complaint is it was noisy in the hallways, but I think it was due to a loud group that was there.

Great location right off the beach! Very clean….. not enough bath towels in a deluxe sweet for a family of 7, so at check in immediately ask for additional towels! We were on the 3rd floor “Ocean view” room 309 and it has an obstructed view. Didn’t enjoy having to look at a roof before seeing the ocean. Previous reviews stated to request the 6th floor, but I’m not sure how to do that since they are individually rented by owners. Chairs and umbrellas are free and available for you to carry and bring back. They aren’t already set up on the beach for guest to enjoy, so you have to do a little work while on vacation. Overall it was a great stay , just a few issues I wasn’t happy about!

Nice clean property. Not too crowded. Great customer service. Only complaint was the noise level. I heard everything in our space from a dog walking upstairs, neighbors movement and a consistent thump from outdoors while I was trying to sleep.

it was great! we loved the whole stay - the only thing that kinda was a downfall was that the view we had - had a telephone pole with wires right in the way of the view - so in the future - i would be sure to ask for one that didn’t have that.

There are some great things about The Avalon Club and some not so great things. I do not usually post reviews unless some thing is exceptional or terrible. In this case it has some good and bad. The Good Clean Nice rooms, especially for families and groups. Great Location The Bad The walls are paper thin. You can hear the next room quite easily and our neighbors at 2 am were having very engaging bedroom activities and it felt as though they were in the room with us. Obviously uncomfortable, especially with a family. We were on the third floor where the gym is located and you could clearly hear the thumping of someone running on the treadmill. When we asked to move rooms they were unsympathetic and seemed to be reading from a script and didn't even say "we will see what we can do". It was a flat no! The gym is only open from 9am-9pm for that reason. SO if you want to get an early morning workout, forget it. We asked for a later check out if possible and and again a flat no! No an hour later. Resort fee and a parking with tax add an additional $100 a day to your coat and feel like a cash grab. Hope this is helpful.

Our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The reviews that we researched were accurate and our experience was wonderful. First, the property and our one bedroom suite was immaculate, second, the staff was extremely service oriented and supported us with any need. When the in unit washer had a problem, as a solution they offered to launder our clothes and dry them and they did! That was above and beyond. They say true customer service is how you handle it when things go wrong. They handled this perfectly! We WILL be back! The proximity to the beach was perfect and the long stretches for walking and shelling fantastic. Thank you whomever is responsible for the superior cleaning staff and “service first” employees. First time at Avalon Club & we love it. Karen, the asst manager, took care of checking us in early & was so pleasant & professional. Our room was perfect. We stayed in the 1-bedroom & it was amazing. Great views, a full kitchen, washer & dryer, 1.5 baths, and spotless. The best part is the parking (it’s $35 but so worth it). We walked directly out to the beach from the hotel. The pool is on the 5th floor & small so we were down on the beach the entire time. Hope to stay here again when visiting the area.

I was hit with a 3 digit Surprise fee when I arrived after booking on Expedia. The fee was for "Parking and Resort Fee". I was unhappy with that. The check in guy went over a ton of stuff really fast, and as I am a northerner, I had a hard time with his accent. He mentioned the bar on the 5th floor. I went up there around 6pm the first night and there was no one there. It isn't exactly a full service bar. It's poolside, and has a limited selection based on what I saw displayed. The staff were all very friendly, and the place is clean. Room was huge. The door locks are unsafe in my opinion. There is no way to manually lock the room to keep out staff. If I were a woman traveler, I would be concerned about that. Also - They don't lock automatically when you leave the room. Which I didn't figure out until my last night there. The view from the balcony looks over a public parking lot, and then out to the ocean. There is a ton of city noise around this place as well. I would not recommend this place over one of the other bigger resorts if you are paying nearly the same price. So add in the 3 digit fee per night when you are pricing it out.

Property was in a nice location. I would say the evening person at the front desk was very annoying. He complained about my kids clapping coming off the elevator called me twice with the same complaint. He tried to make it seem as if they was jumping on the elevator funny thing is 2 happen to be young adults and the other is 14. I guess he’s just a crab.

The staff were beyond amazing. We were here for our wedding and the hotel staff went above and beyond for us and our friends and family. They were very helpful and always happy to see everyone. I will always recommend someone to stay here. It’s right on the beach, easy parking, close to restaurants, not very busy, and very welcoming.

The place was very clean and well maintained. Beach chairs and umbrellas available at no additional cost. Staff was extremely friendly. Lost of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Beach access was right behind the facility. One downfall is that we could not have a later check out time than 11am. Our flights leader later which left us at the airport for 3.5 hours.

Our family stayed here for a few days just on vacation. There were 5 of us, and this place was so clean and updated. The staff were all fantastic. It's a smaller hotel which is just our style and on the less busy part of the island, but we could walk to all the shops and restaurants with absolutely no problem. It was a perfect low key getaway.

Lovely place! We would love to return to this resort for longer next time…super clean, newer resort with very friendly staff! Great views. Definitely a less busy area (which we loved) but a short walk to all the action. The provided chairs for the beach are a huge perk. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

The fifth floor pool and bar are wonderful. They do not serve very much food nor do they serve regular alcohol. Just an FYI My only complaint is that the keypad on the hotel room doors is very difficult to use.

The property itself was immaculate and up to date. Restaurants and shops were in a walking distance. We were disappointed with our “view” off our balcony, where we usually spend a lot of time. There are some buildings that are literally within 20 feet from the building/balcony that block the view and any breeze. Need to be at least on the 6th floor, if you are in the rooms facing Mandalay Avenue and want to use your balcony. We were on the 4th floor. They also need to check their beach umbrellas and chairs. We carried chairs and umbrella out to the beach and one of the chairs was broken, as well as the umbrella. This is a nice, clean, safe place to stay with a lovely staff. Would stay there again, in a heartbeat, but would get an ocean front room/with balcony and bring my own beach chairs/umbrella.

The property was beautiful, new, and clean. The young girl Cassie at check in was so nice and helpful. The bartender at the pool bar was named Julie and she was the nicest to our whole family. We will be back, the beach was very private and easy to enjoy.

Place was very clean loved how large it was and was in a great location, could walk to everything The only negative thing was the pool seemed to be pictured different on the website and was very small and the rooftop bar really cannot be called a bar. They were out of most of the beers didn’t sell liquor and really was not a bar at all.

This place is amazing! We had a room on the third floor and we could see the ocean easily (if you want an ocean view you just have to buy a room that says ocean view). We got to watch a nasty storm come in from the ocean from our balcony. They have a spacious parking garage under the building and I was very impressed - super easy to get in and out of. The room was very clean and all of the front desk staff were very friendly. For us being youngsters, we were very entertained and excited that there were shovels/buckets/volleyballs there for you to use on the beach. The only thing the Avalon Club does not have is breakfast - however there are many great places within walking distance that are amazing and very affordable! There is a whole line of restaurants on the strip of land that lines the ocean. I actually recommend walking the entire strip because there are places for everyone (I just would not drive unless you are leaving the stript because you would have to pay to park anywhere else - it is smart to leave your vehicle in the Avalon Club's garage)

Place was great! Unfortunately wanted a beachfront but was unaware about communicating about what view. Make sure when book, ensure you connect with them to see if there is ocean view available. Towels were replenished, toys for the kids to use at the beach was a plus. Loved it!

Room was very spacious but for what you pay, the furniture was dirty, the flooring grout in kitchen & baths could be cleaned and balcony was dirty with bird poop. For the price you pay, there could be more amenities and higher end items in the room but overall nice place.
