I wish you file a grievance with Thai booking. I booked a suite that according to pictures has a beach/ocean view. The entire purpose of our trip was to have a beach view for my daughter’s birthday. Instead our balcony faced a concrete wall!!! We weren’t there 15 minutes and checked out. Cost me double to get another hotel on the beach with an actual view. Very poor job in this Hotels.com / Expedia.l!!! The front desk clerk stated others had complained about the same thing in the past.

Young girl at Front desk lied several times. I asked for receipt for room. She refused to produce a receipt will final bill. Told me to retrieve it myself. Then said she was speaking to Expedia but was REALLY talking to her boss. Then said I complained about EVERYTHING to make me look bad to her boss.I had no complaints. I caught her in lies then again because the “Boss” came out and said she wasn’t management just another employee after I asked for manager. The girl constantly rolled her eyes and crinkled her nose at me. Very immature and not professional. What is WRONG with that front desk girl??? The guy that checked me in wasn’t like that. He did brag that they “like” to charge renters fees for everything they can. What!?! I was so unimpressed with this hotel and their ridiculous numerous fees. Prepare to get charged mandatory fee for a beach chair, then you have to carry it yourself a half mile AND carry it back or get charged. Good God… the old people looked like a heart attack carrying the chairs. OMG!! They charge a dog fee but NO WHERE for them to go potty. Dogs NOT Allowed on the beach. This hotel has more rules and fees than any place I’ve ever stayed. All the staff was very snooty. For the ridiculous charges and fee after fee…even to park at the hotel. It was NOT worth it. I regret wasting my time and money on this hotel. It’s a tourist rip off night mare. For as expensive it was… no breakfast at all AND lame coffee with the fake creamer.

The Avalon is in an excellent location for Clearwater Beach. The Avalon is very clean and friendly. From the balcony in our room you could see the bay. The gulf. And downtown Clearwater Beach.. highly rated establishment..
