Hotel & Beach Club Ojo de Agua is a perfect option if you are doing a round trip in Yucatan and don't want to spend your first night on arrival in Cancun. The hotel is not modern and the rooms might come across oldfashioned but it offers quite a decent value for money. What fully makes up for this is the location next to the beach and beach facilities provided. Also it is great they have a big pool so kids can switch from the beach to the pool in 20 seconds. Next to that they offer an amazing breakfast. The city center is on a walking distance and there are plenty of diner options in the direct area.

This wonderful property is right on the beach! Lots of sun chairs which you can get first if you’re up early. Or, grab a lounge bed with cover for $30 CAD per day. Restaurant is attached which has amazing food, and bar open at night. Fresh squeezed juice! Pools in behind the condo is refreshing and even an old play gym for kiddos. Close to downtown! Snorkelling right off the beach is great too.

This hotel is located right by the sea. While the facilities are a bit dated, the daily cleaning keeps everything spotless. It offers excellent access to snorkeling spots and restaurants, with free beach chairs and an on-site swimming pool that made my stay truly enjoyable.

The location on the beach and near town is amazing! Everything else is lacking. The room we reserved for 4 people was a tiny, concrete box with 2 full sized beds that you could only access from one side due to lack of space. Our room came with 2 bath towels and one hand towel. The shower had shampoo, soap and conditioner bottles but they were all empty. No bedside lamp meant the only lighting was the overhead light.The AC worked and there was a tiny mini fridge though. The "beach club" was great, but very competitive to get seating (we were there over a weekend so I'm sure it was extra busy). The restaurant food and drinks were very poor. Stick to the cold beer. The staff was all very kind, but clearly understaffed. Check in took over 20 minutes because the young man couldn't find a credit card processor to process our payment. The pool was lack luster and not very clean. Crowded with lots of families and people learning to scuba dive. And there were only 2 chairs and one picnic table next to the pool. If all you need is a concrete room with AC next to the beach and right in town, this is your place! If you plan to stay for more than a night or two, I would look elsewhere.

Last night music was very loud somewhere around until around 6am. Hoping isn’t every night. Staff is very helpful. Very clean. Beach beds usage is not good as they reserve to people out of the hotel.

Stephanie, Laura and Sergio were all great along with the maids. Location to the beach and the lounge chairs - awesome view Management is RUDE and unaccommodating Maids let our friends into our locked room to get something of theirs out. - This shouldn't happen - it was there items 1 key only - even if 2 of you in the room No toilet seat in the women's in lobby in one stall No screen - and air cond. quit 2 nights No washcloths - manager told me to go buy my own No SAFE - we finally got 1 safe for 3 of our rooms to share - but wasn't secured down Big disappointed - Garden room looks over back of the hotel with a small garden section A visiting guest with MS was using a golf cart to get close to the stairs for easy of walking and the management stopped her from bringing golf cart close - this was in no way accommodating and should of been a good reason for an exception to the rules. Management said this was for safety - this was not a bunch of kids running around on a golf cart! Pool is under construction - never used it - along with building new rooms right next to the pool - loud and noisy. This seems like a rant and picky but this was too many things that can be easily fixed to not say anything. We understood that it was a 3 star and but I have a hard time with that rating.

Note that the hotel and beach club are separate properties with different receptions. Our shuttle dropped us off at the hotel and we had to haul our luggage to the beach club in pouring rain - no fun. The best thing about the beach club is the location. We were literally stepping from our room onto the beach. There are plenty of lounge chairs under palm trees. The beach is shallow with fine sand. We didn't have a big seaweed problem in January. It's a 10 min walk into town and there are tons of restaurants nearby. The food at the beach club was surprisingly good, esp. breakfast and dinner. On the downside, it is certainly a more dated place with limited amenities. The pool was cloudy but we prefer the ocean anyway. Our bathroom had a foul smell until I fixed the drain under the sink. The cleaning team did a good job daily. So, overall good value for money if you don't want to pay the hefty resort prizes, want easy beach and town access but can live with some compromises.

What a gem. If you’re looking for the fancy all inclusive resort with perfect everything and all the bells and whistles, then This place is not for you. But if you are looking for a spot right on the beach on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with a restaurant that has amazing food, great service (thanks Freddy and Jesus!). There were always beach chairs available no matter what time we went. We could sit at them and watch the people and listen to live music in the weekends. Please note: there is construction on the property. It’s a bit ugly and concerning at first but I think that’s why we got such a cheap price. It’s only on the road side of the property and did t really bother us. We were there for the beach anyways and that side was incredible!!! I was travelling single mama with child and we felt safe always.

Great location, beach area excellent, nice swimming pool, restaurant is has nice menu and healthy options as well. Staff very nice.

Pro's: The beach club access to chairs and umbrellas was included with the room. Outside guests can day pass at $250 peso with a $200 credit on your bar/restaurant tab. Beach is very nice and easily walkable to neighboring beach venues. Stephanie was excellent attendant. Shower pressure was nice and water was hot. Nice pool area behind the hotel. It's only a 10 min walk to the town square and plenty of local restaurants, bars, and shopping in the area. Con's: Beds had only a cover sheet. When asked housekeeping for bedding, we were given two mismatched throws for the double beds in our room. There is no desk area, the minifridge was the small 3x3 dorm size and was sitting on the floor making it hard to access. No room safe, bag stand, minimal lighting, and very little space for clothes. We only needed a single night. The price was right at $69usd ttl but because the room was so spartan, I would not stay there again.

I have stayed here at least 10 times over the past couple of years. I continue to come back as they consistently are terrific to work with. The location is ideal for visiting Puerto Morales. The price can’t be beat in. The service is terrific. While the rooms are basic, they are always very clean. The value is unbeatable.

It’s a no frills room but the location, beach chairs, towels and beach service are excellent. People from other hotels come over every day to hang out there. The room is very clean. The property is not new but maintained in good condition. The staff are very friendly. The beach is beautiful! There is a restaurant (Restuarant Ki) with food with reasonable quality. Breakfast fruit juice is very good. The coffee is also great! We picked omelette for the breakfast combo ($10 USD). The mushrooms and spinach are very fresh. Within walking, there are other restaurants also, some have great seafood. We enjoyed our stay. P.S. it is good to pre-book the ride from airport to the hotel. The people waiting outside ask for very high price (double the pre-booked price) for the ride.

Checked out due to room conditions. No refund. Hotel is getting run down. Beach club was ok...but needs some upkeep as well. Staff in restaurant and club are good. Hotel has sewage smell in room. Couldn't sleep there....without respiratory difficulty or headache due to mold and sewage

Dirty and tv Than Work

Amazing set up. beach access, beach and pool can’t be beat. Bathroom was also great. Big. Modern clean. Bedroom had ants.

The property itself needs lots of renovation. They were tons of calcium buildup on all water fixtures in the bathroom, which was disgusting. The room was dirty when I got it. Hotel has horrible customer service. They are accommodating to nothing. You can’t even ask them to get you a cab. Only thing I liked about the property is located directly on the beach. It is in a safe town lots of things to eat in the neighborhood Places to walk around, but the beach was amazing. I will definitely visit that area again. Will never stay in that hotel again not even for free.

No me dieron la habitacion que pague , muy sucia, no habian hecho el aseo adecuado, no servian ni los dispensadores de jabon , los controles de aire y tv sucios , pegagosos, buros sucios , michas hormigas en la habitacion. Nada que ver con lo que anuncian en la página. FATAL NO ME QUISIERON CAMBIAR LA HABITACION.

Gross! This place is gross. We stayed here a year ago in what we've now found out is their only reasonably decent room. This year we weren't so lucky. There was so much mold all over the walls. Apparently they had just tried to wipe it down because the room smelled so strongly of bleach that we could not breathe and had to open the screenless doors, then got a room full of mosquitos. The beds were SO HARD that our hips felt bruised. On our second night, the smell from our bathroom drain was so bad we could barely stay in the room even with the bathroom door shut and bathroom window open. The place is simply unhealthy. I actually prefer modest accommodations but this place is just gross. The towels and sheets were clean but really cheap and shabby too. Normally I wouldn't be picky about that but all combined, this place is awful. Too bad because it's a great location and restaurant but a terrible hotel. Oh yeah, and ants. Everywhere. Crawling on us when we were trying to sleep. We asked about it and instead of putting out a bait trap or spraying them from outside the room, they came in a sprayed poison all over the room, making it even more unhealthy for us to stay in.

The property is old and needs some fixing up but all in all it was a good value for a beach front room $370 for a week

Pros: — The staff is friendly and the beach is close with lounges to use (free) — The price Cons: You get what you pay for. — The room description is misleading; 2 beds situated like an L to fit in room — The “rainfall” shower head is a dinky old shower head with an extended pipe and elbow to give a rainfall effect — The water pressure is non existent — The hot water runs out — There were ants around the room (expected some but still, they were on bed, floors and bathroom) — No sink room or hooks to hang towels/ clothes etc (no shelf in shower either) — Balconies are not private. Next room can literally step over and join you Overall, I’d only stay here for a quick trip with my travel buddy. I wouldn’t bring family or a significant other here.

Loved the beachfront location and balcony views. Free WIFI was great. Good daily housekeeping although towels have seen better days! Wish there was a coffee maker, comfortable chair or desk and a safe in the room, plus a dresser. The room/hotel could do with a little updating and some repairs, but overall we had a good stay and would return

Was not what the pictures indicated, front desk did not help, no wifi was available but I could see there name saying it does, will not book there again. SURPRISE

The hotel is very clean, staff are very kind and friendly; great service, restaurant food is really good and high quality but the hotel needs a lof of improvement: TV never worked, sink faucet was really bad; pillows were extremely uncomfortable; main door was not very safe; internet didn’t work 5 days of my stay. Unfortunate because it has a great location but is falling apart.

The front door inside our room didn't have a safety deadbolt or way to lock from inside, balcony door did not lock, can hear everything ..outside, next door room, people walking outside our room.

Super Lage direkt am Strand. Der Ort ist sehr schön und noch nicht ganz so überlaufen. Aber das Haus ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen und für die Zimmerausstattung viel zu teuer. Kein Schrank, kein Wasser zum Trinken. Die Terrasse liess sich nicht mehr verriegeln.

Excellent location right by the ocean, small place & amazing staff; really good restaurant and food; wine sommelier. The property needs improvement as clearly needs maintenance in many aspects. TV didn’t work, bathroom faucet was really bad almost broken; very uncomfortable pillows, room’s door needed work and not very safe; WiFi didn’t work half my stay, staff said was the area but other businesses around had wifi.

Loved the beach club. Stephanie is amazing!!!! Best server we have ever had. Pleasant, fun and we never had to wait foe service as she checked on us often. Our room was a disappointment. We booked a deluxe king room with balcony. The restaurant palapa was directly off the balcony. We could literally touch it! No view except the looming palapa roof. Only one chair on the balcony and it was a broken stool. We asked for another and told we could not have another. Shower dripped loudly all night preventing much sleep. This was fixed the next day. We will return as we enjoyed the beach club benefits. Understaffing is an issue at this hotel. The hotel was clean.

This hotel is at a great location right on the beach with a beach club and restaurant and pool. The beach club staff was AMAZING and attentive. The rooms are worn, dated, and lack any security. If I wasn't traveling solo on a budget I would have changed rooms or hotels. The towels and sheets were clean, but worn and stained in places. The curtains had holes. There was no safe and for an international traveler, that made me a little nervous. I like a place to secure cash, valuables, and passports, but nothing. I kept them locked in my bags. Also, the deadbolt wasn't functioning. There wasn't any lock on the door beyond the key card. There was a utility door inside the main door that I could prop open at night and would have prevented anyone from entering. The keycards had a sticker with the room number and wifi code on them. (I'm glad I didn't lose mine.) The bathroom was clean, but every fixture was rusted or grimy. The water was super hot. The mirror was delaminated. Toilet worked fine and never clogged. Housekeeping cleaned and made the bed every day. There were no blankets for the bedding, only sheets. Air conditioner worked. One morning, there was maintenance hammering on something on the grounds outside my window which woke me up, but didn't last long. They said there was 24/7 desk coverage, but I returned at midnight one night and there was nobody at the desk. I had inquired about airport transfers as advertised, but there wasn't any available.

We love the water dispenser for every body at the front desk, Alberto was very kind and helpful, the only note for the future we would like some notice to make reservations for lounge chairs at the beach club, excellent service from Alberto.

Upon check in the front desk person brought another couple right up to our room walked right in and said he became confused as to what room we were in. They had different people at the front desk who were nice but the young male with a black mustache was absolutely horrible. He also quoted us a high price for a taxi and we found out that the front desk people get kick backs from the taxi drivers. Another front desk person even told us it was a lower price for a taxi. Our balcony had rickety broken down chairs. Out near the pool there were only two lounge chairs for all guests. The playground was just a bunch of wood put together and not safe. The Beach Club and restaurant staff were all very good though. The cleaning lady smiled and was friendly. If you stay in a palapa like we did expect the floors to be pretty dirty just quite naturally from the thatch. We had to ask for extra towels to put down on the floor so our feet were not dirty getting into bed. It is extremely loud at the beach club at night where music played till after midnight. We were on the tail end of the Easter holiday and on our second night stay, very loud music played till 5:15 a.m. from a surrounding restaurant. We had to leave white noise music on our phones all night and that did not even work. My wife used ear plugs and that did not work. Puerto Morales is absolutely beautiful and we love Mexico and the people. We have been to Mexico approximately 18 times and spent our honeymoon there 36 years ago.

The staff at the front desk (a woman in the morning and Alberto in the afternoon) was very friendly and helpful. There is a table set up in the "lobby" for excursions--Jesus was INCREDIBLY helpful and booked us a snorkeling excursion for just $25 each!!! A boat (for just the two of us) took us out to the reef (the largest reef in the western hemisphere btw) and a guide led us around several spots where we saw barracuda, lobster, puffer fish, an eel, parrot fish, coral, and LOTS of other fish and fauna. The on-site restaurant, Ki, was fabulous--the best food we had in Mexico (we spend a week in an all-inclusive in Cancun prior to coming here). Jesus also helped us book a taxi to the airport, and even took a photo of us heading off on the boat for our excursion. He was SO helpful. The hotel itself is a little dated and tired, but it is also ridiculously cheap, so this is one of those times where you get what you pay for. The shower was great and had very hot water, the balcony overlooked the restaurant and the beach but had lots of shade from the coconut palms and a breeze that was absolutely delightful. There were not many Americans, it seems this is a spot where Mexicans go to vacation, so it had a wonderful authentic vibe, very relaxed and chill. The sand is powdery and fine, there was a LOT of seaweed and it isn't raked up or removed, you just deal with it. The water was very calm, virtually no waves so if you don't mind the seaweed, it would be a great place for kids.

Ernesto at the front desk of the beach club part of the hotel is amazing. His english is perfect and he is so helpful and welcoming. He is this hotel's biggest asset. I hope to see him again on my secont stay there! Also the hotel and grounds are beautiful and the price can't be beat.

Ok accommodations. Convenient to dining & entertainment. Had some issues with Alberto the 1st half of Our trip. But tlked with David. 2 d half was better.

Decent stay right on the beach for a good price. Don't expect a resort. Good restaurant on property and located a short walking distance from many eating options and the middle of the beach side of town.

Just the right size for two couples. Conveniently located near North beach. Very walkable. Miriam the housekeeper was very available and accommodating.

Lovely room with views to the sea. Right on the beach. Excellent service. Bit noisy at weekends if there’s a wedding otherwise no complaints. Roberto the desk was very helpful

This is a very comfortable hotel right on the beach.

Mooi gelegen aan het strand, er is nog best iets te zien met snorkelen. Maar je moet een tour boeken om echt bij het rif te mogen komen. Kamer (palapa king) was fijn en groot, eindelijk een bed waar voeten niet uitstaken. Service op het strand was erg traag, drie keer vragen om de menukaart en vervolgens wel andere mensen de kaart brengen die later aankwamen. Eten en drinken is naar verhouding (erg) prijzig, cocktails bijv. zijn bij restaurants om de hoek veel goedkoper.

I love everything about this property. Fernando and the rest of the staff are FANTASTIC. I have never ever not felt safe here. All the dining options, including here, are excellente! The beachfront is fabulous too!

Beautiful location on the beach. 306k is the room with the best view. The hotel staff was really great. The rooms are a little bit tired and mildewed, the beds/pillows aren’t super comfortable, and we had a few tiny ants that were irritating, but the restaurant was great and we’d stay here again. ❤️

Enjoyed our week stay. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff were outstanding. They were polite, helpful and friendly. You are right on the beach for easy access. The restaurant breakfast was good and really enjoyed starting the day with a freshly made smoothie. Look forward to a return visit.

Love this location!!! Can’t be beat. Price is reasonable and rooms are clean. A few COMFORTABLE chairs on the balcony would go a long way to improve my review. Restaurant food very good but most servers were forgetful and needed several reminders for coffee refills etc. Poala was an excellent waitress!!
