The hotel is very centrally located in the heart of the action. If you don't mind some car/ moto bike honking, this is the place for you! Reception staff is friendly and helpful. The staff speak and understand English well. You can very easily find a place to eat or have coffee right outside the hotel doors or within walking distance. The bustling "night market" is an experience for sure. Get ready to see the locals and lots and lots of people including tourists of course. Breakfast buffet here is also amazing. You can order eggs but ask for them to be made without milk, otherwise they are runny. I feel the addition of signs identifying food items would be beneficial. I asked every day what several items were. The hotel is able to exchange currency. I exchanged my US dollars to vn dong here. I also went to the spa for a green tea body scrub (smelled like green tea) and a body massage. The gal that did my massage was very young. She may still be learning but the massage was not the best I've had. Hotel guests receive a discount on spa services and the spa is open late. The hotel also offers airport transfer at an additonal cost via driver/ cab service. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and stay here again if I were to return to Hanoi.

Maltida worked, medium on mattress (medium and especially soft can be a challenge to find in south east asia). Breakfast was delicious and ample enough variety and good juice and coffee. staff was friendly and helpful. used airport transfer service. my intl phone was acting up at airport, so had to buy vietnam sim to make contact with hotel and coordinate my pickup. arrival area was confusing and chaotic. and lots of tots trying to get you into their transport cars. Overall stay was great. its in very busy portion of old Hanoi, so walking, traffic and tots can be overwhelming.

Great location in the heart of the old quarter. Everything was nearby. The longest distance for us about 11mins. Its a little loud in the area but makes up for convenience. Room was spacious. Staff very accommodating. Breakfast very good. Very comfortable bed. Airport pickup was on time. 30 min travel time. $17. Place is clean. I would come back.

Can't beat the location for exploring the old quarter everything is within 5 minutes walk, staff very friendly only thing I noticed is the roof top bar is no longer open however you can still take your own drinks and chill sunbathe up there and the doors to the rooms weren't very soundproof i would recommend using ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Beds and pillows extremely comfy I slept very well

Highly recommended in Hanoi! Staffs are very kind and helpful. They cared us customers well. Always cleaned lobby and keep our room comfortable and change bed sheets new everyday. We had enough hot shower. Specially their Vietnam cuisine breakfast(included to the fee) was more than excellent! Really loved juicy bacon and duck and Vietnam spring roll ;) They offered massage spa. My partner got it said very nice quality. The location was also perfect. It was just in Old Town so accessible to everywhere, however, glad still quiet inside the hotel. We asked to pick-up from and sending to airport, and one day-tour to halong bay through this hotel then they arranged for us well. Comparing to other the same class hotels, this was very reasonable and worth more than the price. Really appreciate to lovely staffs to make our stay comfortable :) Vietnamese people are so kind and lovely. If visiting Hanoi again, we must stay this hotel.

Terrible. They wouldn’t serve us coffee when we asked and told us to go elsewhere. Would only issue us one room key and came in our room when we put do not disturb on. They tried charging us to clean our sheets which is just ridiculous. Not helpful. Noisy area. No rooftop bar just a fridge with dragonfruit in.

I was in Matilda Hotel for 3 days and had a great experience! 1. Staff - Everyone is really kind and helpful. They gave us lots of information about Hanoi and helped me on WhatsApp too. 2. Room - Very cozy, and A/C worked really well. Room service was quick and very satisfying. 3. Breakfast - They change the menu every day, and what I really enjoyed was "A la carte" breakfast. Besides buffet, chef cook individually menu for you. (Pho, egg, toast, ... ) 4. Tours - I had 2 tours from this hotel (Halong bay and Ninh Binh). Tours were great and had lots of good memories. From picking up from hotel to dropping off, every thing was great. 5. Massage - Good price and excellent service. 6. Location - Next to Bear street and night market, and near to Airport bus station, so if you taking 86 bus from Airport, this hotel is great choice.

The hotel is centrally located, great customer service, excellent breakfast. So many restaurants, shopping and attractions in the area. The manager Hang Vu was so helpful. If you are staying here, don’t worry about booking excursions or trips, she’s very knowledgeable and helpful, she also runs a travel agency and can book any trips you want and get you a really good price and options. Also to extend your stay or return to this hotel coordinating your trips. She also made arrangements for transportation to/from the airport and so much easier to have a driver just waiting for you at the airport. Highly recommend. The rooms are small and clean but just sufficient if you just need a comfortable bed and convenience. Daily housekeeping is provided throughout your stay. 24 hr front desk with English speaking staff. Husband and wife are great team and we arranged a food tour with the husband who is very knowledgeable of local history I recommend doing the food tour on arrival so you have a better understanding of the different food options.

The front desk staff was very helpful throughout the stay. The rooms were run down. The worst part of the stay was, the cleanliness of the room. There was dust and dirt on things that were never cleaned throughout my stay, the glass cups I used, the staff never actually provided new ones, they put back the old ones without washing and I realized this when looking to use and noticing.

Not the same as pictured, dirty bathroom, fridge did not work even after they replaced it, safe did not work, the bathroom is dangerour because there is no slip resistant mat anywhere. The breakfast was sub par & over all the hotel was much simpler/smaller than the pictures online showed

I recently had a disappointing experience at this hotel. I had booked a room with a king bed and a city view, but upon arrival, my four-night booking was not even in their system. The room I was given had two twin beds pushed together and a view of someone else's balcony. To make matters worse, the room was unclean and tired, showers direct and rusting, and half bottles of complementary shower gel left in the room. The air conditioning unit also blew directly onto the bed, making it impossible to achieve an optimum room temperature. The housekeepers were so noisy in the morning too! We ended up checking out the next morning as it wasn’t a nice experience or sleep. Despite the hotel's promise to refund me for the nights I didn't stay, they ended up rejecting my claim through hotels.com. Overall, it was a poor hotel experience. The unfulfilled booking, substandard room, uncleanliness, noisy housekeepers, and lack of 24-hour reception were major drawbacks. I would caution others to reconsider staying at this hotel!

Helt ok, billigt och smidigt. Centralt läge och helt ok frukost med spännande vietnamesiska rätter. Luktade tyvärr väldigt illa i trapphuset och sådär städat med svarta hårstrån på golv och i duschen, samt lyhört från trapphuset. Trevlig personal iaf! Långsamma på att svara på mail/i appen.

Great room with amazing and super friendly staff! They kept our luggages free of charge for a full day and we didn't need to carry our extra stuff to Ninh Binh. The breakfast was really delicious and I love the decoration and cleanness. The hotel is very close to everything the old quarter has to offer yet the room was very quiet and we didn't hear any noise.

The room was good. The bathroom door is glass and I wish it is not because I had to leave the bathroom light on at night for safety reasons. I also wonder why 3-4 steps necessary to lower the floor a bit, making it hard to move luggages

The room was spacious and clean with balcony overlooking the street. Great value for money and definitely coming back. The staff at reception were so friendly and helpful, especially the two young ladies. They went out of their way to help by offering guidance and information. They are both a credit to the hotel.

My room had 1x window only and facing the lift ( so very dark and lacking fresh air ), which might be common in this area of Hanoi, but my main issue was regarding the door noises. They are quite heavy and you will hear your neighbours leaving/entering their rooms throughout the night. Breakfast is average

For the location the rooms are very large. Shower was great! We only stayed one night so not having a window in the room is not a big deal, but that’s common with the location and the buildings in the area. Overall a great place to stay!

We stayed at twin room on level 4 which was spacious and has a window looking outside to someone's laundry/clothesline 😅 Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is great and works for our day tour pick up location. I didnt bother with a lot of sightseeing places. What I didnt like about this room is moisture. Room is a bit dark and there is that damp smell all the time. Later on we moved to another room and it was fine. We didnt bother with spa or massage service on site. Breakfast was ok. Small variety but it was fine for me.

Staff were fantastic, very welcoming and always there to help. However, we did find that as we were next to the list and there was a storage cupboard under our room, the hotel was noisy and were woken up at 5:30 each morning.

Pretty nice hotel. Would recommend. The rooms are a little small but they are nice and clean. The only negative is it is very close to a street where people eat and block off the whole street (at night) so it can be very noisy. If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend this location. The noise did not bother me.

As a Platinum member, Expedia said the hotel should have given us free upgrade when rooms are available, especially when the pricing on the booked rooms and the upgraded rooms are the same ($50). We did not received it upon check-in request, nor the Welcome Drinks (both times as we had booked couple days earlier). No bell/door service to help with luggage. Coffee was served room temperature. Rooftop bar was nonexistent. Definitely not you 4 stars hotels. Expedia needs to reclassify them. Everything seems old. Breakfast was below average compared to other hotels.

Front desk wouldn't greet us after we turned down their excursion tour and forced them to give us another key. Breakfast was garbage. We were in room 204 with a window to a closet. No Welcome drinks, No Bell/Door service for help with luggage from street ornto room. Small family operation which we often love to support. No table service. Breakfast so-so. No free upgrades for Platinum members on Expedia upon request at check-in--there were two Junior Suites (for same price) but they did trade us up. :-(

Great hotel in a great location. The staff are very helpful and we’re happy to keep some of our luggage when we went on a Ha Long bay cruise. If I come back to Hanoi I would definitely stay here again.

Helt ok, billigt och smidigt. Centralt läge och helt ok frukost med spännande vietnamesiska rätter. Luktade tyvärr väldigt illa i trapphuset och sådär städat med svarta hårstrån på golv och i duschen, samt lyhört från trapphuset. Trevlig personal iaf! Långsamma på att svara på mail/i appen.

Terrible. They wouldn’t serve us coffee when we asked and told us to go elsewhere. Would only issue us one room key and came in our room when we put do not disturb on. They tried charging us to clean our sheets which is just ridiculous. Not helpful. Noisy area. No rooftop bar just a fridge with dragonfruit in.

the service of the staff is unbeatable at the front desk. they helped me arrange and book tours to halong and ninh binh, helped me plan and organize my trip, and everything in between. hang vu was fantastic especially. the location is very good, very walkable and accessible, with restaurants, bars, everything very closeby. at night it isn't loud or bothersome, and the rooms are relatively spacious and clean. i would definitely return.

The hotel is centrally located, great customer service, excellent breakfast. So many restaurants, shopping and attractions in the area. The manager Hang Vu was so helpful. If you are staying here, don’t worry about booking excursions or trips, she’s very knowledgeable and helpful, she also runs a travel agency and can book any trips you want and get you a really good price and options. Also to extend your stay or return to this hotel coordinating your trips. She also made arrangements for transportation to/from the airport and so much easier to have a driver just waiting for you at the airport. Highly recommend. The rooms are small and clean but just sufficient if you just need a comfortable bed and convenience. Daily housekeeping is provided throughout your stay. 24 hr front desk with English speaking staff. Husband and wife are great team and we arranged a food tour with the husband who is very knowledgeable of local history I recommend doing the food tour on arrival so you have a better understanding of the different food options.

Great location in the heart of the old quarter. Everything was nearby. The longest distance for us about 11mins. Its a little loud in the area but makes up for convenience. Room was spacious. Staff very accommodating. Breakfast very good. Very comfortable bed. Airport pickup was on time. 30 min travel time. $17. Place is clean. I would come back.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Matilda. Located in great area of the old quarter. Lots of shopping, restaurants and good nightlife options, all within a short walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful and everyone speaks very good English. Would certainly come back without hesitation!

The rooms are quite nice but the corridors echo every noise so you hear people coming and going, slamming doors and flushing toilets throughout the night - not much good if you are a light sleeper. Also there is not enough seating at breakfast, I came down at 7.15 planning to leave for a tour at 8 and couldn’t get a seat. 45 minutes later I was able to grab a slice of toast before having to rush out of the door. Service was poor.

Maltida worked, medium on mattress (medium and especially soft can be a challenge to find in south east asia). Breakfast was delicious and ample enough variety and good juice and coffee. staff was friendly and helpful. used airport transfer service. my intl phone was acting up at airport, so had to buy vietnam sim to make contact with hotel and coordinate my pickup. arrival area was confusing and chaotic. and lots of tots trying to get you into their transport cars. Overall stay was great. its in very busy portion of old Hanoi, so walking, traffic and tots can be overwhelming.

We had a wonderful stay at the Matilda Boutique and Spa Hotel.The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfasts were awesome. Great selection and very tasty. Room was cleaned daily. Fresh towels and bottled water provided daily. Location is great. Easy walking distance to Ho Kiem Lake, shopping and numerous restaurants. Would highly recommend. Thank you for helping to make our experience in Hanoi so enjoyable.

Great room with amazing and super friendly staff! They kept our luggages free of charge for a full day and we didn't need to carry our extra stuff to Ninh Binh. The breakfast was really delicious and I love the decoration and cleanness. The hotel is very close to everything the old quarter has to offer yet the room was very quiet and we didn't hear any noise.
