Excellent breakfast variety. Service lacking urgency/focus to please but could be a cultural difference. No swimming pool functioning in hotel ( why we chose it) and not explained anywhere until we arrived and sked to use pool. Gym is just one machine and some weights.

This hotel has a very nice roof top bar - with view to the Acropolis - which closes at 6pm. The result is that everyone is going up and down with the elevator te while evening to hit the totally empty bar at ground level to get some drinks. Ridiculous!

Great hotel but the restaurant closed the pool area before time specified to cater to restaurant attendees who just watch the sunset. After walking thru Athens you want to unwind in the pool. Area surrounding had beggers and homeless yet harmless

The hotel was fine and served its purpose however, due to having a pool it was extremely busy with limited facilities. The hotel is located in an area approximately 20-30 min walk from the centre and sights, of which you have to walk through some questionable areas to get to.

Das Hotel ist von der Ausstattung her gut und sauber. Die Tiefgarage die kostenlos war, fanden wir auch sehr positiv. Der Hotelpool auf der Dachterrasse ist sehr schön und der Blick auf die Akropolis wunderbar, jedoch schließt der Pool um 18:00 für uns viel zu früh. Das WLAN ist leider nicht kostenlos und sehr teuer. Mit 15 Euro ist das Frühstück relativ teuer. Die Bar auf der Dachterrasse macht um 20:00 zu, jedoch kann man auch zu späterer Zeit mit eigenen Getränken hoch gehen und den Blick über Athen und auf die Akropolis genießen.

Mold on the bathroom ceiling, peeling bathroom ceiling paint, broken tolet flush, stained carpet in the room, smelly hallway. That area resembles third world, overwhelming smell of pee and feces in the streets, ran down buildings with "graffiti". Really bad. This does not look like a captial of an EU country.

We had booked two rooms. All 4 of us have skin itchiness. The hotel was not clean unfortunately. I will not book it again. Breakfast tables were not clean so as the cutlery. Area around the hotel is not safe. Dont walk alone outside.

The hotel was very clean, the staff friendly, a wide variety of food was offered at breakfast. It was a pity that the use was only possible in a limited time window (until 19:00). The area around the hotel is a bit adventurous in the evening hours. Overall, however, a highly recommended hotel with a super price-performance ratio.

The front desk staff in the morning versus the evening were night and day. The evening staff were kind, professional, and very helpful. While the rooftop pool and the staff at the restaurant upstairs were great, there’s limited dining around the hotel. Also, there’s a lot of graffiti in the area of the hotel. The hotel itself is nice, it’s just very dated. I did have a small issue at the very beginning when we checked in. Even at check-in they did not have my room available and left me waiting in the lobby for over an hour past check-in. Upon entering my room, I had to call housekeeping back because there was hair in the shower, on the floor, and in the sink.

Filthy carpets and would in the shower. Breakfast tables not cleared. No napkins. Guests using hands to take food from breakfast buffet. An incredible difference between the photographs of the hotel and the reality. I will never stay in a Novotel again. The group should properly inspect their properties. This establishment was unsanitary abd beyond shabby. Cheap but not that cheap to justify the conditions.

This hotel was generally okay. Cleanliness is OKAY - the carpet seemed dirty. I also hated the glass doors for the bathroom because there wasn't much privacy. It was my first time in Athens, and likely won't stay in this area again. It's not unsafe... but a little dodgy at certain parts especially when walking from the Omonia metro stop.

Rooms were clean but the finishing was not good. The toilet was very small and you couldn't sit properly on the toilet seat because of the awkward positioning of the toilet paper hanger. The hotel is in a very shady area and requires a 15-20min walk to get to the city center. It was overlooking apartment buildings and you couldn't open the curtains as people can literally see you.

We enjoyed our stay at Novotel Athenes. Room were average size. Carpets in the room and hall ways need to be updated. Breakfast was good and hours were very good. Good transportation in the area. Neighborhood is average, but we were in a group so no issues.

We had a comfortable stay, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to assist us. However, the hotel interiors felt a bit dated, and a remodel would greatly enhance the overall experience. Unfortunately, we also encountered issues with the Wi-Fi, which frequently disconnected, making it difficult for us to use our phones or watch a movie on our iPad. Overall, while we enjoyed our time, improvements in these areas would make a big difference.

Amazing service, friendly and very helpful staff from start to finish. Room felt a little dated though the bathroom was modern and fresh. We were helped with an iron within minutes and hair conditioner. We arrived early and were able to check in. I had to choose whether to accept the location and on balance made the correct choice due to the pool being great to cool down after sight seeing, towels available and great breakfast.

Pathetic is the word! Staff was uncourteous and rude. Not helpful at all. Will never recommend any one to stay here especially when you travel with kids. Even the upkeep of the hotel was v poor standards. Had a bad experience

Bonjour, hôtel Novotel propre, bon petit déjeuner , services restaurant le soir très agréable (un peu cher). très dommage que la piscine avec bar ferme à 18h (fin octobre) donc jamais utilisé. Service personnel non stop et très agreable. Environnement très sale et vétuste, compliqué de se promener seul autour de l’hôtel. Par contre nous avons eu accès à des restos très typiques, excellent et bon marché. Reste proche à pied (20-30 mns) du centre

The hotel is very good. Staff very friendly especially in the bar and cleaners. Breakfast was excellent with lots of variety . The pool area was good . The actual location of the hotel isnt that great and can be a bit intimidating which is a real shame. However Taxis and uber are cheap and plentiful so use them especially at night.

This is a difficult one to rate. Great room, wonderful staff and a spectacular roof deck with a pool overlooking the Acropolis. Definitely 5 Stars. The problem is the undesirable location. It's in a very uninviting part of Athens and not close to public transport. The closest subway is Omonia Square, but that is a 10 - 15 minute walk. And even Omonia Square is not a particular inviting place to linger. Considering the much lower price of this hotel compared to others, it might make sense to book here and just take taxis to where you need to go. Spending time in this neighborhood is not an option for most travelers. Many Americans who live in suburbs will be shocked by the state of this neighborhood.

The buildings around the hotel are very run down and when the taxi driver dropped us, he warned us to keep our belongings out of sight and not come back too late. There were a lot of “men” on the streets around the hotel. I was glad I was with my husband as I wouldn’t have felt safe travelling with other women there. After the initial disappointment that the pool and roof top restaurant/ bar were closed as out of season, and that our room did not have the desired view of the acropolis as advertised, we actually enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and clean.

Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber. Wir hatten eine Suite und da gab es nichts zu beanstanden. Das Frühstück ist nichts besonderes und etwas mehr Abwechslung wäre schön. Die Umgebung ist schrecklich heruntergekommen, dreckig, vieles kaputt und ungepflegt. Falls wir Athen nochmals besuchen würden, würden wir dort nicht mehr buchen.

Wir hatten das Hotel gewählt, weil es angeblich zum Frühstück auch besonders für Veganer geeignet sei. Das war überhaupt nicht der Fall. Auf auch Nachfrage gab es nur normale Butter, keinen veganen Brotaufstrich, vegane Milch wurde nur auf Nachfrage aus einem nicht für die Gäste zugänglichen Kühlschrank geholt. Für Nicht-Veganer war das Angebot reichhaltig, aber hätten wir gewußt, dass entgegen der Information, es werde Wert auf ein veganes Angebot gelegt, das nicht der Fall war, hätten wir ein Hotel in besserer Umgebung und zentraler gelegen gewählt. Dazu kam, dass wir am letzten Abend und Morgen kein fließend Wasser und keine WC-Spülung hatten.
